• Mike Fuchs (8/5): Great views over the lagoon - Very warm and personable owner (I assume) and friendly staff. The spacious honeymoon suite has very nice views over the lagoon, the bed was comfortable. Good value for money, very clean. Has a common area, pool area looks nice on pictures (didn't go there because of the weather). Can't talk much about the breakfast because power was out and there was understandably only cold buffet, seemed ok. There was a huge storm while I was there. Floodings, roofs lifted, lots of trees downed by the wind. So I couldn't really take advantage of the deck, but even so I think it needs more greenery, seemed a bit bare (on the pictures as well, so I assume plants weren't just moved inside). Also the rest of the house is slightly sterile, as if it hasn't been lived in properly. I probably wouldn't classify the room as a "honeymoon" suite - not romantic or lovingly decorated enough. Some red pillows and a suggestive pictures did not quite send enough of that vibe (not that I needed it, by myself ;). The water pressure in the shower wasn't great. The door to the deck was clanging in the (gale force) wind.

Der Preis ist für das, was man bekommt, viel zu hoch angesetzt, es ist dreckig, Insekten im Zimmer, veraltetes Mobiliar. Wir würden nicht wiederkommen. Auf keinen Fall!

The hotel felt safe and the staff were friendly. For a 4 star hotel, the property was very basic and is in need of refurbishment. There were rips in the bedding, stains on furniture and felt very tired. Parking was tight although secure.

• Markus (10/5): Gehobenes Guest House mit top Aussicht - Traumhaft gelegenes Guest House erhöht über Plett mit geplegter Umgebung uns sehr schönem Pool. Die Zimmer sind konfortabel augestattet und das Frühstück ist exzellent. Besonders lobenswert ist auch das Personal, freundlich und hilfsbereit.

TV was old, not smart and so no Netflix etc. Staff perfectly pleasant when we occasionally bumped into them but the place felt very impersonal. Breakfast ok, service not great.

• Christina Dorothea (8/5): Great views over Plettenberg Bay - Settled on the hill you will get incredible views from the breakfast area; the room we had with the private terrace (honeymoon suite) was very spacious, terrace enormous, outlook breathtaking. Breakfast was good. The location is amazing and tricky at the same time. Since you are so high up on the hill it did not feel safe to walk to the waterfront in the early evening. You need to drive; uber is not available in Plettenberg Bay. If you like a hotel that has restaurants around this is not the right place for you to stay. I’d didn’t bother us, just something to keep in mind. Unfortunately the room was not quite clean. We opened a cabinet and there was trash and a used tissue. The terrace needs an upgrade with paint and there were no fitting cushions for the sun beds. (Cushions for chairs). Easy things to fix for the hotel.

• Jan (8/5): Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. - Wir hatten zwei Zimmer. Die Hochzeitssuite ganz oben ist phänomenal, riesig groß mit einer ebenfalls riesigen Terrasse und einem Ausblick über die Dächer von Plettenberg bis zum Meer. Das kleinere Zimmer im Erdgeschoss war auch sehr groß, allerdings mit Miniterrasse und etwas muffig. Das Frühstück war extrem gut und reichhaltig.

• Amy (10/5): Blown away - a short but AMAZING stay - This property surpassed our expectations. We were met by Amos, the most wonderful host and shown to our incredible room. It had an impeccable view and was stocked with everything you could need + thoughtful touches. The staff for breakfast in the morning were friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was delicious. We had a comfy, clean and wonderful stay at La Vista and will be back again soon! The only thing we didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer at this fine establishment!

• Christoph (8/5): Naja - Grandioser Blick, durchschnittliches Frühstück - Der Blick auf die Bucht ist sehr schön. Die Terrasse der Suite nr 1 ist riesig. Allerdings besteht die Möbilierung aus zwei nackten Liegen und einem gealterten Sonnenschirm. Da wäre mehr drin … mit ein wenig Gefühl für Wohnen. Die Suite ist sehr gut eingerichtet und groß. Das Frühstück hat einen sehr schönen Ausblick, das Speisenangebot ist dazu unangemessen durchschnittlich in Qualität und Auswahl.

• Oliver (9/5): Gepflegte Unterkunft mit toller Aussicht. - Herrliche Aussicht über die Bucht, großes Zimmer und Balkon. Alles sauber, Betten bequem, viel Stauraum. Gesicherter Parkplatz am Haus. Sehr freundlicher Empfang, leckeres Frühstück und sehr freundlicher Service. Schöner und gepflegter Pool mit ausreichend Liegen im Garten. Dreht man die Liege Richtung Bucht, hat man auch einen schönen Ausblick. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gern wieder. Leider ist die Autobahn deutlich zu hören, aber dafür kann die Lodge nichts. Die Nacht war allerdings ruhig.

Frühstück war völlig ausreichend und die zu bestellenden Eierspeisen hatten eine gute Auswahl . Das Haus lebt von der Lage mit Blick auf die Lagune . Also unbedingt Zimmer mit Blick und Terrasse buchen . Wir hatten # 6 . Empfehlenswert .

Wir hatten die Honeymoon Suite und einen traumhaften Ausblick auf die ganze Bucht. Es war sensationell. Ach das Frühstücksbuffet haben wir mit tollem Ausblick sehr genossen. Der Verkehr zur nahegelegenen N2 war manchmal etwas störend.

Decor was very outdated, did not reflect modern 4 star expectations. Bathroom was very poor, outdated, leaky shower. The shower gel provided smelt like bleach, couldn’t use. We arrived at 7:50pm, just in time otherwise the man who let us in said doors closed at 8pm. There was also no telephone number to ring for assistance on the main gates. Breakfast ok, not 4 star expectations again.

• Susanna Dreyer (8/5): - Der Blick ist umwerfend, das Frühstück war das Beste, das wir bei unserer Reise hatten, riesige Auswahl an Käse, Aufschnitt, Gemüse, Salaten, frischer Obstsalat, Säfte, Smoothies, Eierspeisen nach Wahl. Diverse Brote und alles liebevoll angerichtet. Das Personal war mit Freude dabei. Wir waren vor 11 Jahren schon einmal hier, seitdem ist die Einrichtung deutlich in die Jahre gekommen, dennoch ist es alles gut gepflegt und sauber. Leider verläuft die Hauptstraße unterhalb des Hügels, so das der Straßenlärm bei geöffneten Fenstern schon recht laut ist. Bei geschlossenen Fenstern aber in Ordnung. Der Service was mit Freude und persönlich, nur teilweise etwas ineffizient

• Luke (8/5): - The breakfast is very good. The room large, bathroom large with double shower. The bed comfortable The pool & outside space are fairly small. Parking is a little tight getting in an out. The doors are paper thin so you can hear everything in the coridoor.

• Kylie (10/5): An incredible stay with friendly staff, spacious rooms, beautiful scenery—10/10! - I recently had the pleasure of staying at La Vista Lodge, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, I received an incredibly warm welcome from the staff, which set a positive tone for my entire stay. The room was very spacious, and the superb furnishings added a touch of luxury that made me feel right at home. The comfort, scenery, and overall feel of the place were nothing short of peaceful and beautiful—it truly was a 10/10 experience.

• Hélène (10/5): Waouh incroyable - Nous sommes restés une seule nuit + petit déjeuner dans cet établissement mais nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps tellement il est incroyable. Tout est parfait, la chambre, la taille et le confort du lit, la vue exceptionnelle sur la baie, le petit déjeuner excellent et la gentillesse du personnel ! Le meilleur hotel ou nous avons séjourné durant notre voyage de 3 semaines !

• Lothar Erich (7/5): - Wundervolle sicherer Lage mit tollen Ausblicken. Leichter gelegentlicher Lärm von der entfernten Schnellstraße stört nicht wirklich. Liebevolles Frühstück. Netter Pool mit Liegemöglichkeiten im stilvollen Garten. Das Vergnügen wird nicht getrübt durch die Tatsache, dass das Haus in gewissen Bereichen in die Jahre gekommen ist. Nur fünf Minuten bis zur attraktiven, wenn auch nicht weitläufigen Innenstadt mit vielen netten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Keine Hilfe beim Gepäcktransport zum im Untergeschoss gelegenen Zimmer
• Yvonne (10/5): Perfect place for an overnight stopover in Plett. - Spectacular views from our bedroom and the dining area. Spotlessly clean bathroom and the aircon made a big difference in the heat. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help, such as offering to book us a table at one of the local restaurants for dinner. The breakfast was varied and delicious. Secure onsite parking.

• Afra Maria (8/5): Leuk - Aardige lieve mensen. Maar niemand aanwezig en je kreeg sleutel mee van hek en deuren. Nogal probleem met matras maar werd meteen opgelost. Lieve dames en mannen.
• Sara (8/5): Estancia buena pero simple - Las vistas muy bonitas y el personal muy amable. No tiene servicio de restaurante y no hay nadie que pueda hacerte un café, tienes que coger el coche para todo.

• Laird (6/5): A good accommodation option but needs attention! - A little disappointed with our stay here given the reviews are quite high. To start positively, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. They made sure to help us with taxis on Christmas Day, and put on a lovely breakfast every morning. Thank you for that. The home is well laid out with nice lounge areas. The views are great of the town and the neighbourhood is peaceful and safe. The downside is I feel it’s a dated property, and the room we had was below expectations. The toilet was leaking from the bottom. We told a member of staff this as the smell was of urine, but the response we got was they are only temporarily repairing as the room is booked till March. I believe a sanitary issue such as toilet water leaking on the bathroom floor should be addressed immediately and properly repaired, otherwise other guests will leave similar reviews. Secondly, the room had a musty smell and the bed linen was dirty. One of the pillows had old yellow sweat stains. The bathroom was dark and felt old. I hate to be negative about the place as staff were amazing but it needs a revamp for sure!

Ficamos em mais de 10 hotéis, lodges e guest houses e o lugar definitivamente precisa de uma reforma. As cortinas do quarto estão sujas e manchadas, poltronas e sofás também com muitas manchas, dando a impressão de sujeira. Precisam renovar algumas coisas na casa e nos quartos! De todos que ficamos, é o único que não voltaria, não achei que o preço condiz com o que oferecem, principalmente na questão de estrutura física do local!
