• Peter (10/5): Beautiful and athmospheric hacienda - Beautiful, rustique hacienda in the middle of amazing mountain landscapes. Everything is stone and wood. Very athmospheric. Everything was comfortable and clean, and the food was good. Staff was helpful. Only problem for us was the height sickness, but you can't blame Hacienda Los Mortinos for that. Also, it gets cold at night. The fireplace in our room kept us warm in the evening, but it was chilly in the morning. If you're a nature person you won't mind too much.

• Peter (10/5): - Beautiful property, wirh great views of Cotopaxi from our room. Wonderful to have a wood stove in the room, as it's cold up there and the fire kept us toasty! Franklin was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. Food was surprisingly nice, especially the soups and fish. The property is very close to the entrance of the park. Do NOT follow Google maps in this atea, it's not just inaccurate, it's crazy wrong. There are signs posted telling you where to turn for this hotel. Trust thesigns, not Google.

• David (4/5): - I never reached this property as the driver I hired couldn't locate it with his GPS, phone, or my phone. We saw one sign to Cotopaxi but no mention of this property. We stopped at 3 different ranches, and all gave different information. We tried to call the property number, but it was not in service. After many hours on a rock, pothole, dirt road I told the driver to take me back to Quito.

• David (10/5): - Fantastic hotel with epic views of Cotopaxi and other volcanoes. Rooms are very nice. Be sure to get a room with a wood stove or heater to stay cozy. Easy walk to park entrance and to Tambopaxi for lunch and return total 3 hours.

• Sara (10/5): - The property is extremely beautiful, rooms are comfortable and clean, views are stunning and amazing. 15 minute walk to the North entrance of Cotopaxi Park (although you need a vehicle to get in, so make arrangements before). Horseback riding was great too. And so was the food. Enjoyed our stay.
• shirley (8/5): Great view, wish there was heat… - A beautiful hacienda in a gorgeous location. 360 great views. We had a room with a view of Cotopaxi. Everything is new and in good condition. But my biggest complaint is the lack of heating. There was a tiny space heater in a huge room, so it was pretty useless, and it gets really cold there. We would either hang out in the kitchen/living room area or huddle right in front of the space heater. Going to the bathroom is a cold trek.

• Paulo (10/5): Deslumbrante - A viagem foi espetacular. O Hotel é magnífico e sua vista para o vulcão Cotopaxi parece cena cinema. O Parque Nacional é sensacional: fomos às lindas lagunas e subimos o vulcão até o Abrigo na altitude de 4800 mts. Subimos uma etapa de carro e ofizzemoa a trilha com caminhada, lenta e compassada. Vista lá de cima é deslumbrante. O dia era de sol. Tomamos chá e chocolate com sensação térmica de -2°.

• Xiomara (10/5): - Excelent! Warm, very clean rooms and beautiful place in general. The view from the hotel is amazing. Very well located, close to the park, very convenient if you want to walk to the refugie. The home tea is delicous.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - The property is beautiful! However, nowhere on the website or description of property does it specify the altitude of the Hacienda. The Hacienda lies at above 12,000 ft. Many people cannot acclimate to that altitude quickly or at all. It can take days spent at lower altitude to work up to 12,000 ft. It should be specified and explained in the description of this property. We were not able to stay due to the altitude. We are still trying to work with Expedia and the trip insurance to get a full or partial refund. We are not having much luck.
• Elsa (10/5): Séjour idyllique - Cette hacienda est extraordinaire, juste à l’entrée du parc National la vue et l’environnent naturel sont fabuleux: chevaux sauvages, lamas, vaches et bien sûr le volcan avec son sommet enneigé. Les chambres ont toutes de grandes baies vitrées sur cette belle nature. Le service et l’accueil adorable et chaleureux. Une chose peut être à améliorer le chauffage dans les chambres, j’ai laissé le feu du poêle s’eteindre Et j ai eu un peu froid la nuit. Mais à part cela, le séjour dans cette hacienda fut magique.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Superbe séjour - Parfaite localisation aux portes du Parc du Cotopaxi. De nombreux Alpagas sont présents dans les environs et permettent de rendre le paysage idyllique avec les volcans en fond. Le restaurant est bon et le personnel très sympathique. Un passage par cette hacienda lors de votre séjour en Équateur est obligatoire :)
• Jane (10/5): - Lovely location! Mountain View’s from every room. The drive there is a little bumpy, but well worth the drive! The local guides are great and the hotel staff is so friendly and helpful. Localguides don’t speak English so a little knowledge of Spanish is good. Great food -especially the soups! Definitely going back!
• Susie (10/5): Comfortable, excellent host/staff - Pleasant staff. Lovely rooms and public spaces. Stove in our room set up by the staff kept us cosy with wood added during the night. Stoves also in the public spaces. Gorgeous views of Cotopaxi (if the weather cooperates!) Meals good though dinner choice for vegetarians had little protein. For breakfast the staff kindly made us quinoa to go with the granola, yoghurt and fruit. Would suggest some hooks for hanging coats etc iin the room. Would recommend for a restful break while travelling.
• Marina (6/5): Beautiful historic building, no privacy. - There is lot's of construction here and was difficult to find because of it. Of course that is not forever but should be disclosed. The hotel is very old, beautiful and charming but you can hear everything, the floors creak and you can see light through the wooden floors. No privacy at all. We booked the honeymoon suite but you can hear a pin drop downstairs or next door so again, no privacy. Sleeping was difficult with so much noise. The biggest plus is the staff. Very friendly and helpfull. Because of the privacy issue, we would not stay again.

• Fabiana (10/5): - Our stay at Los Mortiños was excellent. The place is beautiful and Franklin, Pablo and Patricia are wonderful hosts. The one thing to keep in mind is that the property is about an hour away from the closest town (Machachi), so keep that in mind when making your travel plans.
• Angela (10/5): Beautiful Hacienda! - The Hacienda is beautiful and decorated with taste. The view from the restaurant and my room was amazing. Service was incredible. We walked to the Cotopaxi National Park; the scenery around is breathtaking!
