• Gina (6/5): The property is nice, the communications with the guests needs to be better. Someone should always be available when peo - Quiet and Chelsea when she showed up for work the following day. Chelsea was very attentive from the moment I met her. No one was on call when issues arose or to ask questions. I addressed the bedet not working with Jaycee, never got a response from her or Sandra the innkeeper. I reached out to the host the day before I checked in and about 6:40 the day I arrived and didn’t get a response until almost four in the morning. Soap selections could have been bigger for the price of the stay(mini soaps and lotions which is fine if I could’ve gotten more)I opened one of the lotions and it was like water pouring out as soon as I opened it. It was freezing cold in the room, no way to have it turned down. The thermostat wasn’t visible to adjust. When I spend $300 for a night I expect everything to be able to have questions answered in a reasonable manner.

We went to sit in the back to enjoy the gardens but it was full of tables and chairs, taking the romance and intimacy out of our getaway. The breakfast was also underwhelming for a bed and breakfast. We had cold waffles, yogurt and berries. Same as we got the day before in our half price hotel that included breakfast.

• MarcelHa3 (7/5): Good stay to explore the cajun region and bayous - The rooms are decorated really nice. Comfortable beds. Luxurious. This is a wedding location, with some rooms rented as B&B. Overall the atmosphere and decoration is that of a wedding venue. On our first night the had let the music in the central hall playing rather loud - we could hear it in our rooms even. Also shampoo etc was missing in the rooms - the next morning that was all immediatly fixed when we reported it. It is also a bit further from Lafayette 25 min ride to downtown) than I had expected.

• Cynthia (2/5): - Not a True Bed & Breakfast—This Is a Wedding Venue First and Foremost We booked this place expecting a romantic bed and breakfast, but it’s clearly now a full-time wedding venue that happens to rent rooms. The entire property was staged for a wedding—including a fake wedding cake—making it feel awkward, not cozy. Their website lists amenities that either don’t exist or are no longer maintained. There’s no pool anymore (it’s been filled in), but old reviews and photos still suggest otherwise. The advertised “Southern Sipping Hour” never happened. The patio grill was dirty and unusable, the TV didn’t work, and there were no plates as mentioned on the site. Promised pastries at check-in? Also missing. We texted the innkeeper with our concerns and got no reply. When we saw a man walk by (who never introduced himself), we found out he was the owner. He offered excuses but no solutions, and refused any refund—even though we hadn’t brought in our bags yet. This might be a great wedding venue, but it’s misleading to promote it as a traditional B&B. It felt like we were house-sitting a wedding setup, not enjoying a relaxing getaway. We’re easygoing travelers, but the lack of transparency and poor communication made this a disappointing experience. Future guests deserve to know what they’re actually booking.

• Hardy (9/5): A cozy retreat! - What a place to stay! A modern mansion remodeled to accommodate weddings and just 4 guest rooms. Had the pleasure of having the entire place for ourselves for one night! Gardens, main hall, a small kitchen - it’s all there. The room was lush and cozy. Great breakfast, served by wonderful and friendly staff! However, the bed was a bit small and way too soft for us.
• De (2/5): Disappointment - When I booked the room under your website, it did not tell me it was a two week cancellation. I thought it was a 48 hour cancellation like most hotels are under hotels.com. I called to cancel 2 1/2 days in advance because my husband got called out to work. The lady on the phone at mansions told me she would try to rebook it and would definitely let me know because she could not refund me. They never once called me back. So I paid $250 for absolutely nothing. Shame on hotels.com and shame on them. I do have the ladies name that answered the phone at the place that promised she would call me back and never did.
• Cynthia (9/5): A great stay near Avery Island - The Louisiana Cajun Mansion is a lovely little B&B nestled in a neighborhood south of Lafayette Louisiana. The rooms are beautiful and with only four in the unit it made for a very quiet stay. There is a lovely sitting area and outdoor area. Rooms are also all on the first floor, so it made getting it in and out easy. Parking was behind a secure gate so I had no concerns, leaving things in my van.

• Pete (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful place to stay, even in a thunderstorm! everything was perfect. - Such a beautiful house and gardens, we loved the décor in our Atchafalaya room, staff were tremendous and nothing was too much bother. Very comfortable bed, lovely breakfast with access to beverages throughout the stay. Excellent information provided on where to eat and places to see. We were visiting the Tabasco Factory and Gardens and both the mansion and the Tabasco tour made the whole experience of the area memorable. A fantastic peaceful stop over in what has been a hectic fun packed trip along the Blues Trail just what we needed. Absolutely nothing.

They have a secret ingredient in their scrambled eggs that was so delicious! Staff was helpful and friendly. There was a wedding rehearsal going on after we arrived. We had to walk through it to get to our friends’ room.

I booked the hotel because we want to visit the Tabasco factory and it had a pool, but after booking i received a mail that they closed the pool. A pity, but we were a bit late because off our tour, so it wasn’t that bad. Good communication.

Staff were friendly but unobtrusive and Katherine, the innkeeper was especially good in that she actually communicated well. The location was a little remote so a car is essential. Also, breakfast was a little early for total relaxation, 8-9 am!

Second place looked good but wasn’t clear they had 2 locations and we unknowingly booked the one furthest away - better guidance would have been helpful.

Receiving a personal phone call from the owner the day before our arrival and being available 24/7 was wonderful. This was my first time at a bed and breakfast. It was a huge surprise as the cost was fantastic compared to most B & Bs. Plus the personal touch of homemade mini muffins and a welcome letter just added to the great stay we enjoyed. There just wasn't anything I can share that we didn't like. We liked everything. If I had to pick one thing, just a little more outdoor lighting to get from the parking area to the entry walkway. It was a little difficult to see in the dark.

• Laurence (1/5): You will be dissapointed - Nothing There is absolutely no place in the house to sit and relax apart from your own room. There is a big gloomy "ball room" apparently for weddings with fake flowers everywhere. No choice for breakfast you get what they serve you and apart from the fresh fruit it was not good at all. You cannot control the AC in your own room. There is a big plastic bag on the mattress (I suppose for hygiene reasons) that makes you sweat all night as there is no airflow, therefore the bed is horribly uncomfortable. To make things worst they took too much money on my credit card and have been playing dead since I asked them to refund through booking, email and whatsapp. The messages have been read and received.

About <10 min from stores, good food, Costco, etc. This was probably our most favorite stay during our cross country reign. The checkin was so easy and the staff was so sweet. I’m so sad we didn’t get to enjoy home cooked breakfast as we booked a swamp tour early morning but definitely hope to stay again if we pass thru. 10/5 stars!!!!

The place is beautiful, I wished we had more time to stay and explore the area. We had a great breakfast the next morning with a little history about southern cooking. Great salon with plenty of space to relax. Staff / owner were welcoming and gave options and recommendations for exploring area.

Our room was terrific, and Sandra and Joe are great hosts. We particularly enjoyed the "sampler" dinner. Sandra is an excellent cook and provided a fun narrative with each course of the dinner. Highly recommended
