Guest Reviews
- Andrew (8/5): Bare bones, but okay - The set up of the facility is cool, the rooms are detached bungalows with an outdoor kitchenette. The grounds are beautiful. The 2 pools are very small. The staff was nice, but did not speak any English, just Spanish (FYI). We did not eat at the restaurant, instead choosing to go to Puerto Viejo, just because we liked the town. The room was tidy, but had problems with the shower head and handle on the toilet. The AC worked good. We were the only guests on the property (mid July 2018). The staff was sometimes hard to find. There is not a lot of service or amenities, but the staff was nice and the grounds are beautiful. This is a place to sleep, not luxuriate.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Intermittent Internet and barking dogs - Excellent and friendly staff. The grounds were pleasant, but the room looked a little tired and could use an update. The pillows contained chunks of foam which were somewhat uncomfortable.
The WIFI connection was frequently weak and the internet unavailable. Being woken up in the middle of the night by the resident dogs' barking was very annoying.
- Melvin (8/5): Bonito Hotel y excelente descanso.
Recomendable visitar Manzanillo, Puerto Viejo y Cahuita.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel ok for the price - The only thing we didn't like it's that there were dogs poop everywhere on the lawn
- Mary (10/5): Nice hotel,in relaxing atmosphere - This hotel is located about 5 miles out of Cahuita on a main paved road which makes it convient if you have a car. It is on the bus line that goes to Cahuita or Puerto Viejo, cabs are also an option. It is located next to the Natioonal Park and we had almost daily sightings of monkeys. The hotel is clean and a well run family enterprise. They care about their guests and it shows. We had a 2 person couch in our room which was comfortable and appreciated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel with wonderful hosts - The hotel is a great family run hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hostess will cook breakfast and dinner for you. They also provide rides into Cahuita. The hotel is located on the main road between Cahuita and Pto Viejo
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet, clean and comfortable - The hotel is between Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. The local bus stops at the entrance (less than $1 fare). A good place for R&R for the price!
- Mark (10/5): Esta bien - very nice
- Greg (8/5): Monkeys everywhere - If this hotel, otherwise very good, improved its interior lighting and minimal hot water situation, it would rate solid 5's. We were happy to meet the family doggies and see the live "20 monkeys in the tree above the cabin" show that we took in twice in our 3 days. A nice touch. Not sure how the owner arranged that, but she did ! The location is excellent for visiting Cahuita a bit to the north, Bribri inland along the Panama border, or Puerto Viejo on the coast to the south.
- Lewis (8/5): Comfortable Stay - The hotel was in a nice location with nice grounds. The room was very basic. WiFi would not work in the rooms...had to go outside to connect. The beds had no blanket at all...just 1 sheet. Lots of noise due to birds and monkeys, but hey, it's expected in Costa Rica!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful property, owner was awesome! - Great room, hot water, AC. This website wants me to write more so I am.
- Brigitta (10/5): Very nice cabins in a beautiful garden - We got a very warm welcome from the hosts and they made sure we had all what we needed! The owner Franco gave us a tour around the property and got us to point out some animals - a lazy animal, monkeys and beside all kind of birds we have seen tucans.
- Carla (10/5): Great value, good location! - Stayed 2 nights. Basic cabin that was clean, quiet, and low cost. Nice grounds. Friendly and helpful owner. Would stay there again.
