• Carina (10/5): Great price for this expensive touristy area. Great host. Walking distance from the station and main attractions. - The host was super friendly and welcoming. We were able to park our car nearby. The room was huge and it was great to have our own bathroom. No towels provided even though our room had an ensuite. Needed to go up 3 flights of stairs to use the kitchen and to make a coffee. It would be great to have the ability to boil the kettle in our own room.

• Sophia (10/5): - Great! Friendly host, super clean and comfortable. Got a closet rack to hang my clothes and the place had a great hot shower There wasn’t a chair in the room. There are cushions for sitting on the floor so just note that if you aren’t good as sitting on the floor like me.

• WAN JU (10/5): - 房間很大，離車站很近。老闆人非常好，性價比非常高👍下次還會來住 需扛行李爬樓梯是唯一的美中不足，但老闆也會幫忙扛行李。大門平常不會上鎖但房間可以鎖。

• Tomomi (8/5): くつろげました。 - 駅から近くて、荷物を置いてすぐに出かけられました。 2段ベッド×2の部屋を一人で使えたので、広くてゆっくりくつろげました。 値段の割に快適に過ごせてよかったです。 防音対策は皆無なので、複数人数で泊まると話し声など気にしてしまうのではないかと思います。また、水が流れる音がずっと聞こえていたので、私は気になりませんでしたが、気になる人には不向きかと思います。

• Celie (7/5): - Emplacement idéal à côté du centre ville. Chambre spacieuse et confortable. Espaces communs non chauffés ou partiellement. Il faisait très froid ! Le matin nous avons déjeuner à 6 degrés et il était difficile d’aller prendre une douche. Peu d’équipement dans la cuisine.

• Cindy Tse (8/5): Cozy stay - The location is great and the staff was so nice. There were only stairs to upper floors. It would be a bit difficult if you have large suitcase.

• Pamela (7/5): Its ok, not bad but could have had a better experience if they staff is much nicer to guests. - Location is great! Room size is good and comfortable. They charge extra for anything additional you request. I paid extra for a towel for showering and when I asked if I could take 15 minutes extra for checking out they told me I had to paid extra. 15 minutes extra for checking out can’t be considered a late check out! C’mon! That little flexibility and sympathy surprised me a lot. So far in Japan people are much more nicer, welcoming and friendly. I was disappointed by the customer service here.

• Zhenrong (10/5): Pretty nice place - The place was pretty good. I ended up having the whole bunk room all for myself, so I was able to rearrange my luggage to travel to my next destination without bothering anyone. The host was so kind. As a solo traveller I look for small talks and interaction with local people and I was able to have a chat with him. The location is pretty convenient as it's less than 5 minutes walk to the train station. I only stayed one night, but I'd come back if I had the chance.

• Antonella (6/5): Buena ubicación y personal amable - Muy buena ubicacion, y la habitacion para nosotras solas era bastante amplica, con un pequeño balcon. Llegamos a eso de la 1, y llamamos. Nos permitieron dejar las valijas hasta el horario del check in, lo cual es bueno, y nos dijo que volvieramos a las 15hs. Cuando volvimos nuestra habitacion todavia no estaba lista, y tuvimos que esperar 10 minutos para que la prepararan. La habitacion olia un poco a humedad.

• Emma (8/5): This hostel was an affordable place to stay and right across the street from the JR Gero station which was very convient - Hero was very hospitable and kind. He spoke great English and helped answer our questions. The room was clean and we used the facilities kitchen and refrigerator.

• Anja (8/5): Great budget stay in otherwise pricey Gero Onsen - If you want to stay in Gero Onsen on a budget, Gerobal Hostel is perfect. It's very close to the station, and although the rooms are very simple, they are clean and the bedrooms were well heated in winter. There are a number of public baths in Gero Onsen, so you can enjoy the hot springs for really very little money by staying here. I was able to leave my luggage after checking out, very welcoming and accommodating staff. Only has communal showers and toilets which were kept very clean. I stayed in winter, and the communal rooms were freezing cold, and insulation appears to be zero. With the heating running on permanent, it was comfortable enough in my room, plus the duvets were very warm, but it was not so comfortable sitting in the common room, which is a bit sparse. A bit more equipment to prepare simple food and maybe tea and coffee would go a long way in making this place more welcoming

• Lynette (8/5): Convenient, good value place to stay - Right across from Gero station, super convenient. Large room. The toilet and shower are clean. There’s a washing machine. Access to a kitchen and a small sitting room. Bring your own towel. There’s two flights of steep stairs which is usual in many older Japanese houses. Very quiet when we were there. The owner has info about onsen and restaurants. We were able to leave our bags while we explored Gero. Everything was fine.

Our host was very helpful with allowing us to leave our luggage there earlier in the day before we checked in and he made good recommendations on where to visit. We got the onsen pass ♨️ and where able to enjoy some very relaxing soaking. The facility was very quiet and a great value for our money.

• St-amour (8/5): Good location for the price - Good location, very close to the train station. Good facility with a common kitchen and lounge area. The owner was not at the location when we arrived, but he did give us instructions on how to enter the building. There were no towels available for rent, but he let us borrow some on the house.

• 女1人旅 (8/5): - 予定を立てずに来ましたがオーナー様の丁寧な説明があったので、温泉や食事の店を決める際に助かりました。丁寧な接客や設備の清潔感が良かったです。
• Verified traveler (6/5): Decent for an overnight stay - The hostel is conveniently located near the train station. It is fine, but I found the bed was a bit uncomfortable. There were gaps between the boards under the bed, so for a side sleeper, you either have your hip/shoulder on hard wood, or completely unsupported. Lockers for valuables provided, but no lockers for big luggage. Other than that it was fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again.

• dreamerlek (8/5): good location to sleep - hostel only have 1 shower cubicle but there are many hot spring around the area that I think it will be advisable to just use the hot spring shower facilities. have small locker to keep valuable but luggage is places at a common shelves. was abit unlucky to be assigned a bed that my head position is right beside another person's head and he was snoring like thunder at night...
