• Suraj (10/5): - Absolutely stunning view of Mt Fuji in a beautiful hotel. The rooms were so clean and the staff was very kind and attentive. The girl at the front desk spoke very good English making it even easier to get help and service. The onsen was so relaxing with a nuts view of Fuji.

• James (10/5): - I found out about this place from Love Live Sunshine. The hotel is on island so you have to get to it by boat (hotel takes care of this for you) is very cool. It adds an extra step, but it’s worth it. The room had a great view of Mt. Fuji across the ocean. The Japanese restaurant was amazing! The hotel staff were nice and helpful. The Love Live room was a nice touch.

• natalee (8/5): - Everything about this experience of the hotel on the island was wonderful. From the staff to the amenities and the views are to die for! The onsen was one of my favorite parts. They did not discriminate against my tattoos but we asked kindly if it was acceptable and they suggested going later at night. My one bit of knowledge I would like to share is that the beds are very very hard.

• Charles (10/5): - Easily one of the best hotels I've every stayed at. The staff is courteous, helpful, and very professional. Despite its age, the hotel does not feel old or worn out - I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained, clean, and neat everything was. The rooms were generously spacious, offered an amazing view of Mt. Fuji in the early morning, and a wonderful view of the bay at night. The hotel's French restaurant was absolutely fabulous and each meal was a delight. The breakfast buffet was similarly enjoyable to the fullest. I did not try the hotel's Japanese restaurant, but hope to return again so I may do so. Inside and out, the hotel has many statues, figurines, and paintings to enjoy; it really does feel like staying in a small museum. The lounge has a wonderful view of the bay at sunset and good drinks on offer for adults and children. The aquarium and frog house located on the island are free to access. It has sea lion and dolphin shows, a penguin display, as well as sea urchin and frog feeding. The walk around the island is tranquil. We did not make the walk up to the island's shrine, but hope to on a future visit. The boat to the island is a short, enjoyable journey, but do be careful if you have large, heavy bags. The town around the island is great fun, especially if you are a fan of "Love Live: Sunshine" - don't miss out! The hotel shuttle bus to Mishima Station was comfortable and convenient. I highly recommend Awashima Hotel.
• Gerard (10/5): Paradise - Our stay was amazing, the western style restaurant (with japanese flavours) was incredible both nights we tried it. All staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The views of mount fuji from the room and onsen were breathtaking and it was lovely to stroll around the island. We will be sure to return next time we are in japan, this is a truly special place

• Mary (10/5): - What a gem this place is! We stumbled upon this hotel for the first time and only booked one night, but we are anticipating our next visit will be soon and for longer. We took advantage of the complimentary round trip bus ride offered from Mishima train station. The bus ride was about 40 minutes long and took us to the ferry which we hopped aboard for the short ride over to the hotel. The hotel looks like it had its heyday perhaps in the 80s, decorated with vintage furniture and flooring. However it's all well maintained, clean, and is vintage in the most welcoming way. The rooms are spacious even by Western standards and include comfortable furniture, nice tea sets, beds and an incredible view of the Bay and Mt Fuji when the clouds aren't obscuring its view. The food here is FABULOUS as is the staff. It has its own precious collection of artwork displayed throughout the hotel. There is happy hour with complimentary beverages before dining, and the hot springs baths here are memorable and oh-so-calming! Everything about this hotel from the time you first make contact with them is perfection. They sent us welcome messages before our stay, and greeted us with smiles and calm demeanor whenever we encountered them. We are so in love with this place we didn't have time to explore the rest of this tiny island. From the book displayed in the room, there appears to be a variety of nature and animals on the island. It has a small temple area and has a marine park. Go relax here!

• みあん (4/5): - 結構なお値段するので、離島体験ということもあり楽しみにしていました。 お年寄りの従業員が多く、それはいいのですが、ボケている方が結構多いです。 夕食の際、お茶や飲み物を持ってくるのが遅い、帰りのバスの手配にミスがあり、危うく新幹線に乗り遅れる所でした。 部屋は広く、露天風呂も良かったですが、部屋のクローゼットの中の干し棚がすごく臭く、使わず蓋をするように閉めたままに来ておきました。 露天風呂は海を見渡せ、塩風呂ジャグジーとなっており、時間帯を外せば独り占めでき、とてもよいのですが、フナムシ、ゴキブリの死骸を風呂に行くたび見かけました。ちょっとあり得ないかな、と思います。 バスの時刻も難しいものではないですが、手配ミスがあり、従業員の質があまりよくない印象を受けました。 よいところでカバーできていれば目を瞑りますが、決して 厳し目の評価ではなく、この価格帯でなら、よりよいサービス、おもてなしを心がけるべきです。

Most notably, the staff is wonderful - Megumi Ogawason is an amazing concierge, Moon was amazing in all of the restaurants, the chefs were excellent, etc. The art in the hotel is very special, the onsen is beautiful, the food is great, and everyone is helpful and friendly. We couldn't get great views of Mount Fuji because of the weather and the pools on the island were closed, which was disappointing. Everything else was great!

• K (6/5): - 部屋は豪華。良くも悪くもバブル時代を感じる。備品が古いのは仕方がないか。 目の前がすぐ海の露天風呂も趣があって良し。 スタッフの接客，特に素晴らしくもないが，悪いというほどではない。それなり以上の価格のホテルなら，まあそれくらいはできないとね，というレベル。昔ながらの常連客が多いからか，総じて馴れ馴れしいのは好みが分かれるところ。 問題は食事。酷い。今どきドレスコードありというからには，どれほどのものかと期待していたが，あまりに酷い。高級レストランにしてはイマイチというレベルではなく，大衆店以下。そもそも１０品程度のビュッフェに肉，魚を１品ずつ付けただけで「コース料理」を名乗るのは，詐欺といってよいのではないか。そのたかだか２品が出てくるまでに２時間近く待たされる。味も普通（高級店レベルではなく，大衆店レベルの普通）。無駄に量は多い。２時間のしょぼいビュッフェでこちらはお腹いっぱい。メインがそんなに量が多いなら事前にいってほしいものだが，スタッフは「ビュッフェたくさん食べてましたもんね」ときた。そこを丁度いいペースで出すのが本来のコース料理でしょうが。付け加えると，客は自分達を入れて２組しかいなかったが，そのもう１組の常連らしき金持ちマダム達が食事の最初から最後まで大声で他人の悪口大会で大いに盛り上がり，スタッフは注意するでもなくヘラヘラそれに参加していた。気配りゼロ。更に付け加えると，レストランのスタッフは基本タメ口。敬語すら使えず。そこらの大衆レストランでもここまで不快な思いをしたことはそうそうない。ちなみに朝食ビュッフェは普通のビジホと大差なかった。 総合評価，部屋とスタッフ（食事処を除く）は悪くないが，食事があまりに酷いので高評価は難しい。少なくとも，強気の料金設定に見合ったサービスかと聞かれれば，ＮＯと言わざるをえない。部屋は気に入ったので，いずれまた行ってみようかと思わないではないが（天候不良で一度も富士山見えなかったし・・・），その際は沼津で弁当でも買っていって素泊まりにしようと思う。

• ヒロ (10/5): ライグジュアリーなホテルです。 - 静岡に住んでいますが、この淡島ホテルを訪問して、今までに感じたことのない別世界でした、フロントの方の対応、雰囲気　ホテル周辺の景色、ホテル内の雰囲気は5スターホテルでした。静岡に住んでいるのに、ホテルからの富士山は格別でした。
• TAKAYUKI (10/5): 最高のホテル - 建物自体も綺麗で品があり、とても良かったです(^^) また、ベランダから見える景色が最高でした！あの綺麗な富士山の景色は忘れられません。
• Xuexuan (10/5): Wonderful and luxury stay - The environment, the service, the hot spring, the view of the Fuji mountain, and everything is awesome, except that there are very few choices for dinner and breakfast at the local area, and the food from the hotel is luxury but expensive.
• Henry (10/5): Wonderful stay at Numazu seaside - The hotel is located on an island, which has a wonderful ocean view and Fuji mountain view when it is sunny. The hot spring is so good, and room is spacious. I love this place!!!
• Hadiran (10/5): Awesome soul-searching location and brilliant staf - There was a guest room next to the ferry pier and all you have to do was to sit in the waiting room (hotel guests only) and wait the ferry to come. The boy at the waiting room was extremely professional and polite, he recognized me immediately and offered seat in the waiting room. Thre ferry operated at a 15-minute interval from morning to afternoon, and it took like seven minutes to get to Awashima. I was greeted by hotel staff immediately when I came ashore and was escorted by one of their managers all the way to room. No redundant checkin procedure was required. All you had to do was to pay attention to the manager's introduction to the hotel amenities/places of interests/general info about the island and sign the check-in form. I dined at the in house restaurant and the foods there were awesome in presentation and taste. The hot spring opens at 5:00AM to midinight and I highly recommend taking the open air hot spring early morning. You will enjoy fantastic experience becoming one with the nature. Check-out experience was parallel to check-in, and the luggage was transported by the hotel boy. All you had to do was to pick them up when you came ashore at the opposite pier.
