- Teixeira (10/5): Hotel perfeito para famílias - Assistência e atenção com o meu bebê. Realmente não tem hotel com o nível de estrutura como o Martinhal para receber famílias com bebê pequeno Nada, amamos
- James (8/5): -
- Neville (10/5): Taste of the old town - Location staff room Steep hills oitside

- christina (10/5): Incredible for families with children - My kids looked forward to our stay even before we arrived once I showed them the play area. If you have kids this is the perfect hotel, you can drop off your kids to explore th hilly city while they play. The amenities were also great along with attentive staff On a steep hill with lots of bars all around
- Paola (8/5): -
- Tom (10/5): Enjoyed everything about it. - Everything. Large and well supplied with kitchen equipment. Clean and climate controlled. Grocery store a short walk down the hill. It was all good.
- Salvador (9/5): - Location and staff TV did not work, the bathroom was very small and when having a shower water went on the floor of the bathroom. Apart from this all was great, confortable and breakfast was good.
- Nataliia (10/5): - Great location
- Herbert (10/5): -
- Yuliia (10/5): A beautiful hotel, perfectly suitable for families with children. - nice hotel with a well-equipped room and friendly staff. There is a children’s room, and the room also has everything needed for a child.
- Misaki (10/5): -
- Kyriaki (9/5): - Great location. Friendly staff. Kids friendly. We had a free upgrade to a bigger room. Breakfast was basic. We would expect more choices and especially local options.
- Laura (6/5): Pleasant, but overpriced if your children are over the age of 2. - Really friendly staff, great location and really large rooms/apartments Bathrooms were in a really bad state - our en suite was really cramped as up in the eaves, tiny shower that was really not enjoyable and awful lighting.
We booked a two bedroom apartment but were "upgraded" to the eaves where our room was up a really steep (and slippy) set of stairs - not ideal with young kids who like to come and visit us in the middle of the night.
The breakfast was average.
We travelled with a 3 and 6 year old. We didn't use the kids club, so can't comment on that. But I did intend to use the family playroom - but that was very much set up for babies - definitely not for kids over the age of 3 and even so my 3 year old struggled to find much to play with.
We booked here to enjoy the use of the bar / restaurant during "down times" - but it really wasn't somewhere you'd want to hang out. More of a small dining room - couldn't understand where the "gin garden" was supposed to be.
All in all - I was really disappointed as this was very poor value for money for our family.
The staff really were lovely and the location is great - but I should definitely have booked an apartment on Airbnb and know for next time z

- Sandra (10/5): The Place to Stay in Lisbon - Loved everything about this beautiful accommodation. We had a suite with a fully equipped kitchen. The king bed was comfy with high end bedding. Everything was clean and bright! Shower was awesome! Location perfect. We highly recommend The Martinhal . There was nothing we didn't like
- Carlos Geraldo (9/5): - Ampla e muito confortável
- Harkamal (10/5): - Very clean room, well stocked for toddler and baby. Laundry in room is very nice, incredible staff.
- yolanda (10/5): - All was a great experience!

- Christian (10/5): -
- Etienne (9/5): - Gigante
Kids club Pela valor podia repor o kit de boas vindas diariamente
- Jean (10/5): - In Chiado on a side street just a short walk to the water and sights. For me perfectly located for a self guided walking tour from the castle to green street!. But for those out of shape , with disability or with a stroller its a hike up the hill. The hotel is charming and the rooms very clean and well-appointed with a very nice kitchen setup plus a washer. Enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to stay again!
- Antonio (5/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): - Wonderful stay. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.
- Sheryl (9/5): Highly recommend for families traveling with kids who need a break and a great facility to entertain kids - Traveling with grand baby - loved the day care center
- Christopher (10/5): - Very good location and good for young children and good bfast but the street noise is very loud at night and can be heard from the room (we were on first floor)
- Stefano (7/5): Good - Breakfast No 5*
- Stacy (10/5): Wonderful stay - Loved our time here! Upgraded to an amazing huge room (that spoiled us for the rest of the trip), super friendly service, great breakfast, perfect location and everything I needed for my 1 year old daughter Nothing
- Carrol (10/5): Exceptional - This was a very last-minute booking, and I can't speak highly enough of the young lady at the front desk. She was incredibly welcoming and helpful. After a long day of travel and being a first-time visitor to Lisbon, her understanding and kindness made a big difference. She took the time to help me regroup and even offered great suggestions on places to visit. I absolutely loved this place. all was amazing, beautiful staff
- Maria (10/5): - excellent! Super kid friendly
- Robert (9/5): Superb - The people. Especially David Aresta who went beyond expectations to make our stay excellent
- Tomasz (10/5): It is great place to start visting Lisbona, close to everything - Great friendly and helpfull staff, location, room and equpment, everything just perfect :) The washing machine didn' work in our room however they did the loundry for us so wasn't a problem at all.
- Diwata (9/5): Superb - All of it! Perfect for family especially with toddlers.
- Michelle (9/5): Very child/family friendly hotel with friendly and helpful staff - The staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, and also had thoughtful touches for kids such as a kids bath robe, step in the bathroom, and kids cutlery, bowls and plates. My daughter really loved the kids club and it was great to have the option of childcare. The hotel also has a WhatsApp number you can message to ask questions, check on your child in the Kids Club, etc. Not much - I thought the breakfast options could have been better. The hot options were limited although you could also get eggs to order. You also have to book a time for breakfast, which isn't ideal with young kids.
- Margaux (9/5): Superb -
- Paulo (10/5): Uplifting and beautiful - Friendly clean and fun
- Catherine (10/5): Good location - Good location, friendly team of staff. Upgraded our room which was a nice touch.
- Todd (10/5): - Amazing overall experience! Perfect hotel apartments for families with small kids. I highly recommend!
- Helen (10/5): Beautifully designed and equipped suites, Perfect for families but also for couples - This hotel consists of beautifully designed and equipped suites with huge rooms, fully equipped kitchen, special features for small children, comfortable bed with memory foam pillow. Everywhere there were lovely design touches. Great breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. It is also in a good position in Chiado. Nothing whatsoever could be improved!
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Can’t fault my stay! Excellent Nothing
- Steph (10/5): - Great location walkable from downtown. Very toddler friendly with toddlers amenities in the room. Room was well furnished.
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Khalid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Khalid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mcdermon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ivan (8/5): I would stay there again, it was ok. - Staff were great, Breakfast was average, Secure underground Car parking nearby.
A short downhill walk to restaurants. A huge mall nearby. At the time we were walking about 20,000 steps per day so Lisbon was no exception. We did get a torrential rain day one of the 3 days we were there but still managed to get out and about. It is more of a family hotel, a few kids there. A bit of a mission going to the room, Down some steps, into the lift, out through a laundry area, into another lift and arrive at the room. I guess the downside of it being built on a hill like many other places in Lisbon.
- Mert (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Gideon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (9/5): Fabulous family stay - Lovely stay. Fabulous location, very walkable to lots of the central city. We were upgraded to a one bed apartment and it was gorgeous, very spacious, very comfortable, had a separate kid bunk room and was very well equipped with everything we could need. Also had a small balcony with typical street views. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of different options.
There is a kids club and easy access to babysitting but we didn't utilise this. Our bathroom was a bit cramped and awkward to manoeuvre in but this was a very minor point... nothing else! Would highly recommend.
- Nicole (9/5): lovely apartment but plumbing issues need maintenance - Nice kitchen and cockery.
Good shower
good mattress
helpful staff who were on night shift -TV screen too small for the spacious lounge
-Both shower rooms were blocked or leaking
- Would be nice if the facial mirror had a built in light
- the bedside wall power points were too far from the King bed
- Gustavo (4/5): Not a five star hotel - Great location, large two bedroom. This is not a 5 star hotel, maybe it was some time ago but it is now decadent and dated, much worse than the first time we stayed there. It was smelly, mouldy, and dirty, the bathrooms are old, water leaks, and other maintenance problems like that.
- Vinod (8/5): - Great location, helpful staff, great breakfast
- Rashed (4/5): Disappointing -
- Dominic (10/5): Lovely hotel in central Lisbon. - A very nice hotel in a very convenient location. Had a studio apartment which was a generous size with great facilities. Extremely comfortable and lovely service including a very good breakfast.
Also useful as very close to two metro stops which gave great access to airport.
- Ana (10/5): Perfect if you are traveling with kids - Amazing location, the staff is super helpful and the room was excellent.
Loved to see all the things they have to make traveling with kids pleasant, although mine didn’t come this time.
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roger (10/5): - All the facilities one can think of were available in this city hotel.
- Emma (8/5): Fantastic location, great for families, comfortable, spacious rooms. Would definitely recommend! - We had a two bed apartment which was fantastic and a great base to have for our family on our city break. The kids club was excellent and the staff all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the only thing that wasn’t outstanding. It was fine but not what I’d expect from a hotel at that price point.
- Jessica (10/5): The best place we’ve ever stayed for kids! - We loved being in the center of Lisbon and having the option to leave our two toddlers at the kids club and also get a babysitter in the evenings. The kids loved the activities and mummy and daddy had some alone time exploring Lisbon and enjoying child free dinners which was priceless. Breakfast was amazing. One bedroom apartment was huge and we loved all the little personal touches. Thank you! Nothing
- Joann (10/5): Exceptional - Welcoming staff, spacious 2BR suite, great breakfast and location. And my 2yo grandson loved the playroom.
- Wampach (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rajeev (9/5): excellent -
- Jane (9/5): We had a great stay. Our room/apartment was really nice. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. Would come ba - This is a perfect place for families with kids, especially younger children. Nothing not to like
- Robert (10/5): - Wonderful rooms very well stocked. Great location. Comfy beds. Great staff. Highly recommended!
- Sachin (10/5): - This is where you need to stay if you are traveling with young children (8 and under). It is completely set up for families, from breakfast to bedtime.
While it is a great hotel overall, I would not recommend it for single travelers or those who don't have children, as the noise could get irritating.
Every member of staff is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.
- Rose (10/5): Great stay with a toddler - Amazing service and had everything you could possibly think of for a stay in a hotel with a young child. They also had a welcome bag for our son with toys and a hat which he absolutely loved. Bed was super comfy and big. Breakfast was nice and we also used the room service on our last day and the food was excellent. Sometimes when you stay in a hotel room with your child it can feel a little stressful but this was all set up so perfectly it made it really fun for all of us.
- Hala (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benjamin (10/5): Amazing for families with young kids - So well set up for kids. They thought of everything. Baby food makers and training potties and seats in the rooms. And our kids loved the toys and babysitting. It made for a fun and relaxing vacation in the heart of Lisbon.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Very kids friendly. Great room, amazing location.
- Deserine (10/5): An Exceptional Experience - The breakfast was fantastic, and the location was superb! We could walk almost everywhere. Guilherme and Lourenco were two of our favorite concierges. Renu, Ashish, David, D, and Raj were also exceptional! Their professionalism and kindness is unsurpassed. Thanks to all of you for contributing to our incredible experience in Lisbon. We will stay here again and recommend that anyone looking for excellent accommodations choose the Martinhal Lisbon Chiado. There was nothing my son and I disliked. The Martinhal Lisbon Chiado is exquisite. The Concierges are remarkable, and the vibe is amazing.
- Maria (10/5): - Great for families! This was our third stay. Clean, friendly and great room options.
- Etleva (6/5): Pleasant -
- Saurabh (10/5): - Fantastic!
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna (10/5): Perfect hotel for families - The absolute best hotel for small children and babies. They really had thought of everything that would make my our lives easier whilst away from home including bottle warmer, steriliser, baby bath, big rug in living area for floor time etc The staff were all incredibly kind as well and they leant us a buggy with sturdier wheels to tackle the many hills and cobblestones. We also made use of the baby creche and our little one was very happy and the staff and facilities there were perfect.
- Mohamed (9/5): Wonderful hotel for families. - The location is superb in Chiado close to every major attraction. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has a kids' center and it was perfect as we left our two boys (7 and 3 years old) for a morning. The staff there is caring and kind. This is is a must hotel for any family with little ones. Breakfast is good with a nice selection. Make sure to go next door to "Landeau" and get the most amazing chocolate cake (You're welcome) :) There was a smell of insecticide by our door on the outside. They must have sprayed right before we checked in.
- Claire (9/5): Brilliant, the hotel made every effort to make a family holiday stress free. - Completely geared towards making a family holiday as easy as possible. Great location and incredibly helpful staff. They helped make reservations in advance for us and taxi bookings when there. The floor boards in our apartment were very creaky which made it tricky moving around without waking our light sleeping toddler and the bathroom door got stuck on a tile so could only open a foot without having to be lifted up a bit.
- Gloria (9/5): Superb - Just be aware the lower floors can be noisy if facing the Main Street.
- Luis (10/5): Excellent choice - Staff, localization, breakfast, room Nothing
- Rahul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paitre (9/5): Superb - The staff: from the maids to the concierges. Kind, polite, and professional.
Everything is included for babies and we felt it was vacation.
The Kid’s Club.
the bar/restaurant.
The upgraded room.
The amenities.
The breakfast.
The location in the heart of Lisbon. Wifi was next to not usable at the fifth floor.
AC drying completely the air.
Hot water needing a lot of time to reach the fifth floor.
- Molly (10/5): Great space to call home while exploring Lisboa - Lovely welcome drink, room amenities, kids gifts and breakfast for us to enjoy each day. Spacious apartments with washing machine were a relief for our family. Great location - close to many restaurants - and super friendly staff on all fronts. The showers and bathroom were a little slippery. Instructions for the washing machine were challenging to decipher to someone new to this type of machine. I didn't get to use the kids' club and maybe would have appreciated knowing more about my stay in advance via email or message.
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Barry (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at the Martinhal in Chiado. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights and the accommodation was excellent - very clean, spacious, quiet and great that the bunk beds were in the living space as opposed to the main bedroom. The breakfast was good - not as comprehensive as other hotels I've been too - but enough choice to ensure that everyone was well fed before heading out for a day tackling Lisbon's hills. The people were lovely, the complimentary drink voucher on arrival was a very nice touch and we would definitely go back. It's clearly a very family friendly hotel and we felt very at ease there with our son (12) and daughter (9).
- Amol (4/5): - The hotel is very family focused. The items in the room are safe for kids, there is a highchair, toys, kid safe utensils, a kids playroom downstairs, and everyone is helpful and understanding of families. The service was amazing, and the young man at the front desk was super helpful. The bar seemed to cater to non-hotel guests but we didnt spend time there other than to get our free drink.
The negative to the hotel which was pretty big for us was the noise. We could hear people upstairs, outside in the hall and outside. We did not sleep the whole night Friday due to people partying and screaming in the streets. The sirens (there were many) were manageable as compared to the music and yelling all night from the street. Our 22 month old did not sleep all night and it ruined our flight home.
- Juliet (8/5): We and the kids (age 2 and 4) loved our stay - Excellent for families with little kids. The apartment was really comfortable and gorgeous, they were so helpful with things for the little ones (cot, seat for the loo, potty, etc…) and we loved the playroom and kids club. Excellent location as well, great bars and restaurants on the street and surrounding ones and easy to get to all the main attractions as a short walk from tram and metro stops If you’re not lucky enough to be in the main room of the restaurant the back room is a bit bleak
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaly (10/5): Exceptional - It is perfect for families.
They even upgraded our studio to an apartment which was very spacious and comfortable with a baby Just need to make breakfast area more bright
- Johnny (10/5): Exceptional - We got upgraded once we arrived. This small apartment hotel was excellent and luxurious. It was very central and everything was within walking distance.
- Tetiana (9/5): Superb - We were on weekends and stayed in this hotel. At first I can say the location is the perfect, close to everything, but in the calm place.
The apartment was very clean and tidy, highly equipped. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The apartment has the kitchen, so guests can cook if want. The choice of food for breakfast was quite limited.
