Guest Reviews
- Julita (10/5): Jules and Rob - The resort was very enjoyable and the owners are really nice !! Pool and entire yard is well kept and clean. Room was also clean and quaint, perfect for the two of us and my two pups ! The resort is really close to town even tho it’s not on the water it’s still worth it for being pup friendly. And for the price you can’t beat it! Had a great time !
- Kim (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. Although you can’t walk to the village, the location is still very good. Place was very well maintained and owners were great. Loved that it’s pet friendly too. We met great people and their pets!
- Victoria (10/5): - Run by a very kind, hard working, dog loving family. Clean, quiet, would totally stay again in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Old but clean. It was like taking a shower in a mineshaft. Funky smell. Horrible driveway.
But very nice owners, great location, and retro cool.
- Megan (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful. Quiet, intimate, clean facility. Grounds are kept spotless, pool is kept spotless. Rooms were small, cozy and perfect for a weekend getaway with your loved one. Worth every penny and will be booking again.
- Irene (10/5): - Very pleasant stay. Kathi and Kevin were very friendly and accommodating in letting us check in a little earlier to attend wedding festivities that weekend. Will definitely recommend to friends
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well maintained, quiet park-like setting, pet friendly, Owner-Hosts are very nice, helpful, accommodating. Nice variety of units from basic room to full efficiency unit w/ kitchen & LR. We'll be back
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Proximity to the Northway. Hosts were awesome! The hot tub and pool were nice and clean. Very kid & pet friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very quiet and quaint space. The owners are so nice and accommodating. Definitely stay there afainy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel, perfect location. This is a place that you want to repeat.
- George (10/5): - Family owned, the owners are very nice and always unhand if you need anything. Its a small property, which makes it quiet and quaint. The rooms are cabin style, and have a sitting area in front. Theres an outdoor pool, bbq's, and a fire ring.
Its a very short drive from the state campground, where for $10.00 you get a day pass. So you can enjoy the beach in the morning, leave to eat or shop and return back later in the day on the same pass. I prefer the beach at the campground, it is clean and not crowded as opposed to the main beach. However dogs arent allowed on this beach, for that you need to goto the dog beach in town. Which is also minutes away. I want to thank the owners for a great week, George
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great weekend stay at the Green Haven and had everything we needed there. Clean and comfy. We loved the location and quietness. The shower is a little small to give a comfortable rinse to our 2 year old but we made it work. We didn’t use the pool but it looked clean. We would come back next time and bring our Boxer with us as he would love to run around there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kevin and his wife are amazing host, always willing to help with a big smile. Location is great if you need some relax and quiet time and it is just 3 min away driving from lake Geoge Center . The pool , the gas grills are nice so we enjoyed all.we hope to come back soon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was so cute and homey feeling. Very clean n the owners were so happy for you to be there Dog friendly also so it’s the best
- Aracelis (8/5): Simple is better - The room was very clean and comfortable. It’s not a luxury resort but it has the amenities you need for a short stay. The owners did the checked in. They were friendly and welcoming. They had freshly baked cookies at the counter and made suggestions for the weekend. I would definitely stay again. Love Lake George.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The place it is in a very good location, is quiet and very nice if you have dogs and kids.
- Susan (10/5): - Very peaceful inviroment, clean updated room.
Or second time here, and will be back again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay thin walls - Stay was good, unfortunately the walls are soo paper thin we could hear every word the neighbors were saying. Would stay again, would just opt to stay in the duplex’s not the rooms.
- Donna (6/5): - The facility was clean and safe, the management was friendly, and we felt comfortable during our stay. The internet was very spotty, and we had problems with the small coffee maker, but otherwise our stay went well.
- Scott (6/5): Getaway - Internet was very spotty and the hot tub was broke . Owners were very personable.
- Anthony (10/5): - Very relaxing 4 fun filled days. I plan to return in a couple months
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners are very nice! It's a nice private resort.
- Shawn (10/5): - Very convenient location. 8 minutes dive to Lake George Village. Hotel Management was very friendly and helpful. If you plan on barbecuing, leave your grill at home, there are gas grills on site.
- Brian (10/5): The Perfect Spot for a weekend away! - Kathi & Kevin truly go above and beyond at the Green Haven. My significant other and I came up for a weekend for our anniversary and from beginning to end our stay was perfect. Our room had a special touch added to it just for us as a courtesy which, when we walked in the door brought a smile to our faces immediately and we knew right away we made the right decision out of all of the choices around Lake George. The room itself was spotless, the little fridge was cold, and the temperature controls in the room adjusted perfectly to your comfort. Kathi & Kevin made sure that we had everything we needed and were just a phonecall away and always had a smile on their faces. The grounds are nice and quiet at night as well, even with the dog friendly policy (which is great by the way). I would highly recommend this location to anyone wanted a nice weekend away and just a hop skip and jump away from town. Perfect!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay. Fun cabin-like environment. - We stayed here for the Americade Motorcycle rally. Owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed in the Queen rooms which is a line of motel-style rooms at the bottom of the hill. Expect a quaint cabin-like environment and not your usual hotel. Windows are open to let in some breeze, though they do have heat and AC. Bring your own towels for the pool and hot tub (which they state in their reservation confirmation). With a bike, parking can be a bit tricky....the very bottom in front of the row of rooms is packed gravel. We had no trouble with it with our bike, and neither did the other Harley and Goldwing riders who were our neighbors, but some may shy away from that.
You can hear quite of bit through the walls from your neighbors or those out front, but it just added to the fun.
- Juliet (2/5): Old & Smelly - The place is completlu run down and has old carpets that smell awful. The pool water is freezing and the pool deck/are is so old and lacks care that some one could get hurt. Terrible place that should not be cold a resort.
- Tammy (8/5): Nice owners, beautiful dogs. - Really enjoyed sitting out on deck and chatting with friends on a beautiful evening.
- Diana (8/5): Nice location, quiet for the most part - Quite disappointed that I had asked for no room service and yet when we had come back from some time out, our garbage had been changed inside our room! Which meant someone was in our room while we were away.. Jaccuzi and pool were supposed to be open at 9:00 am and had to ask a couple times for them to be unlocked ..
- Robert (10/5): Great place to stay by Lake George NY - Very nice property for the family. Close to town and activities. Family owned and operated and they are very accommodating. Good value for the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Long weekend stay. - The establishment is dog friendly so it was the biggest plus for us. The room was clean, just missing a chair or table to sit by or place things on while in the room. Close distance to the center. Quiet at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): amazing stay - It was wonderful
- Irene (2/5): Don't stay here. - The room was a lot smaller then it looked on line the shower was very small and the water was just warm at best. The room smelt like mildew. Their dogs run all over the place. I would never go back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fits basic needs - This resort made the mark for basic needs & was within the budget. It is close to the village & is set within the beautiful Adirondack setting with the trees, smell of pine , & had outdoor opportunity for relaxing & fun. Our room was accommodating yet dated. None of the mattresses were comfortable, the very old A/C unit was loud & not cooling, the bathroom was extremely small & overall cleanliness was fair. It is straight out of the early 80's-seriously!!! I don't like to be negative, but if you are used to a somewhat modern HOTEL, you might be disappointed here.
- Raymond (8/5): - Owners are friendly and very helpful with anything you needed.Beautiful property with fire pit and bbq grills. Shower is small. They are doing improvements to motel. Would definitely stay again.
- robert (4/5): hotel not good - we arrived at 1pm room wasn't ready had to return at 3pm check-in time..i ask to use a rest room was told that there were no public bathrooms for me to use.the room was small and the queen bed matress was old.the towels in the bathroom were old and shower only no tub.the pool was cold and not in good condition.the hot tub was stuck in a corner and not very nice condition, residential type of hot tub.i would not recommend this hotel for anyone except people with animals.this was a pet friendly hotel with some quests with barking dogs which was very disappointing since my wife and I were looking for a quiet weekend away.we were also told that we could not swim both at the same time due to ny law if we were the only two people at the pool and that was the case.
- Susan (10/5): Very nice and affordable - I went there with my daughter and 2 dogs for a week, and we had the most relaxing time. Very friendly owners, they keep the property very clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Musty, bugs, outdated - Stayed in a standard queen room. Room was really musty with water damage under the a/c and in the bathroom. I killed a coupler spiders, a beatle, and some carpenter ants. One spider was really big. Spider web in top of shower. Room was outdated but for $100/night I didn't care about that. Pulled up and it sounded like a kennel with all the dogs but with the a/c on you can't really hear them. Lady at the front desk was nice when we checked in. Next time I'll spend another $40/night for better accomodations
- kevin (10/5): best resort in town - the resort was great the owners kevin and Kathy were great
- mom (10/5): Better than expected - Nice place, owners are helpful, attentive and very nice. It was quiet and allowed dogs. The cabins are better than the motel rooms. Cabins have little kitchen area, sofa, microwave, refrig.
- Richard (8/5): Simple Cabin Stay - Family friendly and pet friendly. We stayed in a queen room. Great place to stay on a tight budget. Close to Village. Far enough away to enjoy the quiet.
- KaLeigh (10/5): Great location, friendly staff! - Contrary to previous reviews, they did not make us count our towels ;) the owners are actually very nice people! I will make one note, the walls are very thin as these are summer cabins so please be courteous of your neighbors. We will definitely return!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The couple that owns/runs the place are very nice and accommodating.. Room was nice. Bathroom is a little small.
