- debbieann1089 (8/5): Good experience - This is a beautiful hotel like something you see in a story book . Everything you see in pictures online is exactly as it is . Friendly staff and clean hotel . My only issue is the hotel has a lot of wear and tear, upgrades are needed to the lounge furniture and some of the bedroom furniture. The lounge furniture looks like it’s been there forever. This is my second time at this hotel and enjoyed every bit of my stay , I say however their rules stand and there is no exception for anything. I stay in May 2025 for a work convention as they were part of the preferred hotels . On getting back home I notice my jacket was missing as I recall I didn’t go into the closet to remove it before leaving. I called multiple times asking how I can get this jacket . Finally a friend of my was heading to Miami and opted to collect it, upon calling to let them know someone was collecting on my behalf I was told it was thrown out as per policy . I told them I understood your policy but I was in constant communication with you all informing the hotel that someone will collect on behalf of.

- johnJordanportree (6/5): Small hotel and not happy with some facilities - Small hotel but perfectly formed, (I own a small hotel in Scotland) the bedrooms are unbeatable, except a ridiculous coffee policy, part of their policy on a $ 45 per room per night (and I had 2 rooms for 3 nights total $270 extra on top of the expensive rooms prices which includes beach beds) includes coffee in the room, they don’t explain before your stay that your only entitled to a minimum amount (embarrassingly) only 4 coffees, I had 1 coffee and used 3 small sticks of creamers and and sugars so there are only 1 creamer and 1 sugar left, these were not replaced (unbelievably embarrassing) my daughter opened the fridge which was overfilled and a bottle of beer fell out and broke but we got charged for it. I went to the beach for a while but you have to queue to be booked in for your private beach bed, there were 2 men there, one was booking in and selling drinks etc to the public and the other was doing nothing while I was there, there was 8 people there and I had to wait 30 minutes then gave up, it’s an unbelievable joke that you can’t just go to a bed on your pre paid private beach and the staff don’t come to you!! It totally ruined our holiday…

- 60mickm (6/5): Our opinion is that this is more of a Japanese restaurant with rooms than a hotel - Some positives, but overall, staying here was disappointing. The positives are that the hotel was clean, the pool area was nice, the location was good, and the reception staff were absolutely wonderful - particularly Alicia, Sarah and another lady whose name we can't remember. They were all so helpful, professional and friendly. The downsides were that, despite there being a concierge desk, there was never anyone there to assist guests, for the duration of our stay. Also, we don't like Japanese food, and the emphasis seemed to be completely on the Japanese restaurant. Often there were 2 or 3 people dealing with the Japanese meals, and only ever one member of staff at the reception desk, where there was often a queue for assistance. There were no bar snacks and we had to go elsewhere for evening meals, which wasn't convenient. The hotel recommends The Orange Blossom to visitors for meals, but it is a block away (not convenient at night), and closes quite early. The Plymouth Hotel bar was closed by 10pm every night of our stay, despite their notice board stating that it opens until 11pm. We were absolutely appalled at the hotel's policy of only providing 2 complimentary coffee pods PER STAY. How mean is this? We have never encountered a hotel this mean. Finally, our bill included the usual local charges/fees that we encountered everywhere whilst travelling around Florida. However, The Plymouth Hotel was the only hotel that also charged an additional service fee of $45 dollars per night. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone for the reasons I have just stated, and we would not return.

It’s a solid spot whether you’re planning a nice night out or just want to grab a drink. We were welcomed by the manager, Shanna, who was friendly and helpful in guiding us through the menu. The food was excellent — well-presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The cocktails were just as good, and the bartenders, Alejandro and Michael, were both really friendly and knew what they were doing, which made the experience even better. Overall, it’s a great place for quality food and drinks in a stylish setting. I’d definitely recommend it and would go back again.

We had an early flight and they let us hang out around the property until our room was ready. The hotel is decorated nicely and is very intimate. They provide pool and beach towels and free sunscreen. The hotel is also just a block away from the beach! I appreciated that it was more chill and the pool area was relaxing. Cleanliness could be better. We had to have our room cleaned again since it was not up to our standards, but the staff handled it quickly and were very nice and apologetic about it. Again want to emphasize how quick their service and how sweet all the workers were.

The music and speeches were extremely loud and carried straight into my room—which was situated facing the pool. Because of the noise, I couldn’t even watch TV, and getting any real sleep until gone midnight was difficult. If I had known an event like this was happening, I would have stayed somewhere else.

The food was excellent and David and his team did a great job of working with us from start to finish to make it a great experience for 30 people for dinner and about 100 for the party. Their pool outdoor space is great and felt intimate without being cramped.

The Art deco design and beautiful lobby welcome you back to old Miami Beach. The desk staff are welcoming and checkin was easy. You are then surprised to be taken to a back alley where your room is actually bext door, but the room is very clean and nicely decorated. The smallish room ks cozy! Unfortunately the dream is squashed as soon as you read you will be charged for using more than 2 coffee pods (underscoring for your entire stay). You then feel nickle & dimed and just insulted. So, kind sirs, please get rid of that ridiculous charge. I doubt anyone is hurting your bottom line by guzzling coffee in their room!

- JustBeachin55 (8/5): Nice hotel with Minor Issues - The Plymouth has a great location as it is close to the free tram lines, off Collin’s (so quiet), and walkable to many locations in SOBE, including the beach. We had a Superior King in the “annex”. We did not know we were in the annex until we checked in. It really doesn’t make any difference, but the room had absolutely no view unlike what the room looked like in the pictures. We had to keep our drapes closed all the time. Unfortunately. Room was comfortable, but I don’t know if we needed a Superior vs a Classic King. Housekeeping is excellent and efficient. Kudos to them. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The sushi restaurant in the hotel is fabulous. I’d definitely recommend a meal there. There are plenty of choices beyond sushi. As with all of SOBE, check your bill before adding a tip. Most places add a 20% service charge already. My issues: You are allotted 2 free coffee pods for your entire stay. If you want more it is at least $2/pod with additional taxes and fees. I have never encountered this in our years of traveling all over the world. For a hotel prices one pays here, the coffee pods should be included. Bring your own coffee. There is a little cafe on the ground floor of the annex where you can get coffee ($5+taxes) and some other items. Nice patio out front. Parking is $40/day+ taxes and fees. If a valet parks and gets your car, there is a 20% automatic tip plus additional taxes and fees. Less than 2 blocks away, there is a city of South Beach parking garage where you can park for $20/day. Very convenient. You will be amazed at all the taxes and fees that are added. Be prepared for a resort fee/day, plus tax and other fees. I’m guessing that this is true of most hotels in SOBE. The swimming pool is in shade for most of the day. If sitting in the sun around the pool is an important part of your trip, just be forewarned. The pool is nicely heated. If my issues aren’t important to you, then by all means book the hotel.

- Pippincox (10/5): Perfect Plymouth hotel - Our second time here. The hotel is amazingly Miami Beach vibe with a huge heart. Everyone we have met working here has a heart and is so kind. Reception are so helpful, housekeeping just know how’s to make your room home and the guy on the bar is phenomenal, so great at mixing and so friendly and just gives the hotel that great pool vibe. We love it here, the rooms are quirky and so cosy. Weather is not as great as last year, but because we’re here it doesn’t matter!

The following day pool was out of service. The room was small with limited storage and hot (although it was cool outside). We did call reception to try and remedy. There was bottled water available in the room but this and everything else was chargeable and ridiculously expensive. The hotel was in a great location for south Miami Beach.

Yes, Miami was having an exceptional cold spell, but even when in bed, the sheets were like ice if you moved out of your hot spot. Eventually at 7am I called & asked for a heater, as couldn’t bear to get out of bed on to the cold floor🥶 which they brought up.(wasn’t the best, but it was better than nothing) Toiletries in hotel were Molton brown which was a lovely touch. Staff were all very friendly & an asset to the hotel. Although our taxes were all paid, we had resort fees to pay, which totalled $51 per room per night (we had 2 rooms) which was very steep, since we literally arrived at hotel for a sleep & then boarded our ship next day, so didn’t get any use out of what we paid for. However, my biggest gripe is the $150 per room they took from our card as a hold, and 2 days later, still have not released the remaining monies, when we were told before we left the hotel, that it would be released back into our travel card that afternoon! I’ve emailed hotel on this matter & awaiting response……….

This seems to be an ongoing trend judging by some of the reviews I've seen. I'm a travel consultant and spend a lot of time dealing with hotels and bookings. I send a lot of customers to Miami and thought this could be another useful hotel to have experience of to recommend my clients to for pre or post cruise stays but unfortunately not. I did email about the extra charge that was added after we'd checked out but with no response from the hotel. A fortnight later, 2nd December 2025, I emailed again, saying it was disappointing not to have had a response and as much as I don't like to leave negative reviews online, I would rather sort it out privately, they were leaving me no choice. I got an immediate response, in under 10 mins, to say this was being escalated and someone would be back to me with an update shortly - Now at 4th Feb 26 and nothing, not heard another thing from them. It was only small amount, under $10 but thats not really the point and to not have a system in place to respond to complaints of this nature is very poor, thats almost worse than the original error! It's a shame as this hotel has so much potential in its location and facilities but I won't stay again and will never recommend it to anyone else.
- Melissa (6/5): Stylish hotel in a great location, let down by poor service/amenities that doesn't justify the price - The hotel was in an excellent location. The bar was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. The beach service was appreciated. The Plymouth has some work to do. The Reception staff were inexperienced and not particularly welcoming and on check out did not even ask me how my stay was or thank me. The check in was painfully slow even though I had already put all my details in Booking.com I had to do it all over again. There was no restaurant on sight for breakfast or lunch - the space has been given up to an outpost of a NY sushi place. The pool was ice cold and in the shade all day and frankly not big enough for the amount of guests. Loungers were occupied by 9am. The concierge was MIA. The only lounge area had all the tables laid and was screened off so there was no comfortable lounge area. The room - the wardrobes were ludicrous, I am 5ft 4 in average height and could not reach the hangers. Same with the curtains, I could not reach to draw them and there was no privacy from the building opposite. The bathroom had the minimal amenities and the bathroom door was very noisy sliding open and closed. No water provided (charging $22 for a bottle of water in the room) and only allowed 2 coffee pods per day. Overall it felt for the price I paid, they were very much skimping. I booked 3 rooms with 5 adults, 14 nights in total so I spent a lot of money and felt it was very overpriced. It didn't provide the kind of service and welcome I would expect from a hotel in the US.
- Michela (8/5): Comodo hotel vicinissimo al Convention Center - La posizione, molto comoda sia per la spiaggia che per il Convention center dove avevo una manifestazione, solo 5 min a piedi. La struttura di per sé é bella ma un po' vecchiotta. Camera carina, abbastanza confortevole letto molto comodo. Il lavandino é diviso dal resto del bagno in cui ci sono water e doccia, separati da una porticina scorrevole che non si chiudeva neanche fino in fondo, quindi privacy zero. La struttura non dispone di una sala colazione, ha un ristorante ma é aperto solo a pranzo e cena, l'ho trovato un grande punto a sfavore in quanto ogni mattina dovevo uscire con largo anticipo per recarmi alla caffetteria in fondo alla strada molto affollata dovendo spesso fare coda o prendere un caffé da asporto al barettino accanto all'hotel.

- W1sue (6/5): 2 bed suite description is misleading but otherwise comfortable - Very disappointed with 2 bed suite. Layout was not suitable for two couples. Living room does not exist. This is a junior suite with a sofa and chairs in the bedroom and a very small connecting room. Terrace is lovely and a sun trap. Staff were charming. Restaurant is very good. Pool area is nice. Main bedroom is large and spacious and comfortable. It is a shame that this is miss represented as otherwise it was a perfectly comfortable boutique property 5 mins walk from beach. Beach club is very busy and confined. Layout as two bedroom suite is misleading and so very disappointing.

- KarinVL72 (10/5): Hip hotel, good location - We had a wonderful stay at the Plymouth. The staff was very friendly and catered for our needs with a smile. The hotel has a lively atmosphere but if you prefer quieter surroundings, ask for a room in the annexe. Especially the bartender (forgot his name) was very helpful and kind, providing me with plastic champagne glasses for an excursion which I could return afterwards.

- Iris (4/5): Schönes Haus, alles ein bisschen eng. - Sehr freundliches Personal. Gute Kaffeemaschine auf dem Zimmer. Ab 10 Uhr vormittags waren alle Liegen am Pool reserviert, obwohl niemand anwesend war. Drei Tage hintereinander dasselbe Spiel, das ist sehr frustrierend.

- Daniel (8/5): Wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel in a great area. - It’s very very beautiful. The restaurant downstairs has really great food, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and bright and comfortable. Great beach access, and a perfect location in Southbeach. The pool didn’t seem to be heated – it was very, very cold. The bedroom was missing a trash bin. A bit of a hassle at check in cause my card wasn’t working for the deposit, so it took 2-3 hours. The manager (I forgot her name) was very helpful.
