- James (8/5): - Beware, no elevator in this hotel!! Stairs are steep and long! This is an old hotel that is in very nice shape, but not really modernized. Not ADA compliant. Room is adequately outfitted and clean. Bed is comfy. Restaurant is adequate. Limited choices in Leadville. Servers were very proficient and friendly.

- Victoria (10/5): - We absolutely love the Delaware Hotel. This was our second stay and again, the highlight of our road trip. The staff is great, the quirky historic building is a delight for antique and history lovers and the location is fantastic. The hotel’s restoration is beautiful and the touches in each room make it a much more special stay than you can find at a typical hotel. There is no AC, but we were comfortable with a fan in the window. The bar and restaurant are top notch and deserve their own 5-star review. We will be back each time we pass through the area.
- Jamie (6/5): - No AC in the room. No problem, just open both windows. There were noisy people out side talking. It was quiet around 10:30 PM and I finally fell asleep, but woke up 2:00-3:00 AM from more people talking loud outside. The room was too warm if I closed the windows.

- Wray (2/5): - This was the worst hotel stay we have ever had. We’re both in our 70’s and travel quite a bit around the country and average about 20 hotel/motel stays each year. This stay at the Delaware was a new low for us, especially for costing upwards of $200 for the night. First we were not told that the room was on the 3rd floor with extremely steep stairs and no elevator. We did make it up with our luggage though. We flipped the light switch just inside the door and the ceiling light came on to a barely noticeable flicker. We stepped into the room and both nearly fell because the floor is sloped sideways like the side of a mountain. Fortunately there were some lamps that worked so we had enough light to get by. The bathroom door would not close enough to latch and remained partly open. There is no sink in the bathroom. It’s in the big room about 2 feet away from the side of the bed. Then we couldn’t watch TV because we couldn’t get it to turn on. The shower is so small that it’s hard to turn around without pushing the shower curtain outside the threshold. I bumped into the liquid soap dispenser on the opposite wall of the shower while turning around and it fell off and lit on my toes. They’re sore but okay. There were two good things about the room. It had a nice king-sized bed and the shower put out a good strong flow of instant hot water. We mentioned to the desk clerk this morning how awful our stay was. She said the manager may call but of course. No one did. Beware!
- Kathleen (8/5): Interesting & comfortable historical hotel - Historical hotel in a great location, right in the middle of historical Leadville. Parking was not an issue. It is a comfortable hotel with very interesting & historical aspects to it. If visiting I would stay there again, even though it is not a modern hotel. The staff is great. Hopefully renovations will continue to its previous grandeur.

It doesn't have an elevator and the stairs are steep, so it's not for those who need an elevator. But, for those looking for historical charm, it's a great choice.
- James (6/5): - If you are over 60, do not stay here. No elevator given the historic nature of the hotel. We were put on the third floor. 25 steps to level two. Another 20 steps top the third floor. King bed was 36 inches high. Had to get the manager to bring a step stool for my wife. Get a room not overlooking the main drag as it is noisy.

Paul just came off a week of motorcycle ride with the guys and I met him, Let's just say I was not staying where they stayed...,This is a beautiful hotel. ***No elevator for those who can NOT do steps ....

The bathroom door knob was not working properly and I had a hard time getting out of there!! I also killed a larger ugly spider on the bathroom wall! The bed was also pretty soft and I didn’t sleep well! The staff is awesome but the room wasn’t worth over $200!

- Laurel (4/5): - Facts you need to know. There is no elevator. Stairs from the first to second floor are wide, stairs from the second to third floor are very narrow. There is no air conditioning but there is a small fan in the room. The king room we had does not match the photos, the room was extremely small and there was not adequate room for our suitcases. For the price they charge it was a bit of a let down.

But… For the per night rate we paid, having no elevator and no F & B all day services are really hard to accept as guests. While we’re wiling to pay extra for staying in a historic hotel, it’s equally important to be able to relax at the end of a long drive. I know the situation is temporary but perhaps a ‘while under renovation’ discounted rate would have made it easier to accept. Another element to be taken into account is the high elevation making it harder for guests to go up & down the steep stairs, with or without luggage (at least for us older folks!)

- A1648NKstephanier (10/5): Lovely hotel - The bed was very nice quality and very comfortable--which is huge for me. I had asked ahead of time for extra pillows, and there were 4 extra waiting on the bed for me. I was already aware that there is no elevator or a/c. We didn't account for the altitude difference from Pueblo and climbing those stairs to the 3rd floor. Got us the first time, but good after that. Since it was mid June, I did NOT expect the room to be that hot without a/c, but it was very uncomfortable. Thank goodness for the small fan left in the room. The afternoon sun pouring into the room is what made it so hot. We closed up the curtains the next day and that helped. I had fun exploring this historic hotel, and staff was extremely friendly. I would definitely stay there again!
- GeorgeL468 (2/5): Not what I expected. - I was looking forward to my stay in the Delaware hotel and that it was in a historic building. The staff was very friendly when they were at the front desk, however, had to look for them when I had questions. The room was much smaller than I had anticipated and difficult to navigate with two of us in the room. The bathroom was extremely small with a shower the size of a phone booth. My main complaint about the room was how hot it was. The heater was turned off, yet the room had to be about 80 degrees, even though it was in the 40’s outside that night . When I expressed my concerns regarding how dissatisfied I was and wanted to cancel my 2nd night, I was told I would still be responsible for the 2nd night. Not wanting to spend another uncomfortable night at the hotel, I checked out that morning, a day early.

- Hwa (8/5): - Fantastic location. Being located above Mineral 1886, makes it convenient to get breakfast in the mornings. The building itself also has a lot of charm. The downside of being an older building is that there are a lot of little peccadillos; eg, the water temperature fluctuating a little bit, lots of creaking wood, no elevator, and very little sound proofing (I could hear everybody walking past my door and the people in the room above and beside mine). Also, the parking situation could be a little better.

- Margaret (10/5): Great Location to explore Leadville - Stayed in room with king bed, twin and trundle twin. Room very big with nice sitting area … very clean. King has a memory foam mattress. Twin was a bit squeaky for adult who moved alot at night ( probably fine for a child/heavy sleeper) so we used the pull out trundle instead which was comfortable. Room was a bit stuffy so used provided fan and opened window . Nice shower/hot water. Large lot to park car. Staff very nice. Fun info on “haunted” rooms.
- ccshome (10/5): Fantastic unique hotel - Rene and the staff were absolutely amazing. The history behind the hotel is incredible everything from the unsinkable Molly Brown, Doc, Holiday, and famous people stayed at this hotel during the silver gold and lead.great food at restaurant-romantic with a fantastic bar the hotel was built in the 1800s so be aware there’s no AC and no elevator. We were on a two week vacation so we just packed a small suitcase that had our overnight stuff.

- Marc (10/5): - What a wonderful, historic hotel ! It’s right in downtown Leadville. The staff was so nice, the room and bed were super comfy. I would definitely stay here again. Two things to be aware of. There are some very steep stairs ans no rooms on the first floor and no elevator. It’s a historic old hotel so not a surprise, just if you have trouble navigating stairs, it’s something to take into consideration. Also no A/C. Not really an issue with our stay last night, but in summer again something to consider. It shouldn’t be an issue since Leasdville is at 10,000+ feet. Stay here is you can, a step back into history AND they have free donuts for the hotel guests in the afternoon !
- Mark (6/5): - The Delaware is great!! My girlfriend and I have stayed there many times. Cool historic hotel with great staff and a great bar and restaurant. The only thing that was an issue was the shower in room 203. There was no drain cover so things could just fall down the drain if you accidentally dropped them and the water temperature was extremely erratic. Temp went from hot to cold many times while in the shower. Other than that the place is great!!

- Robert (8/5): - Arrived for a 1 night stay enroute to a ski area. At check in the young woman at the desk recognized my advanced age and volunteered to bring my suitcase up the endless stairs - I accepted. Still at 10,000 feet altitude and coming from sea level, the stairs were formidable (no elevator). The room was bright with a variety of old images. The queen bed was comfortable and had a new mattress. I slept well. The room had a newly renovated bathroom with a very snug shower. The furniture was vintage. The chair in the room was wobbly and I feared it might collapse - I reported it. I did not eat breakfast, so I cannot comment on the cuisine. At the suggestion of the desk clerk, I had dinner at the Treeline restaurant across the street. Had a blackened whitefish (tasty) and Colorado skillet corn muffins (the best I have ever had). All in all a brief but pleasant stay in a historic hotel that is aging.

I have slept in a standard queen bed for over 20 years and also the front desk even said the bed looked small. We measured the bed and it was not a standard queen. That’s ok if it’s not but don’t say that it is and don’t charge for a standard queen when it’s not
- melanie (8/5): - The staff is wonderful. Lobby and bar is cozy, a great vibe. The rooms are not renovated and not as comfortable as a modern hotel. It’s historic! So no elevator. Perfect location . Free parking. Delicious food and cocktails.
- Candace (10/5): - Quaint hotel in the middle of town. We stayed there during Leadville Skijoring so it was quite busy. Staff was working so hard to make everyone’s stay comfortable. It is an older hotel so kind of creaky floors but would definitely stay again and the food at the Mineral restaurant is excellent.
- Barbara (6/5): Great for the price! Nice town. - It's a nice little town. We stayed there one night and enjoyed the town. It is a very old building, and the beds are not very comfortable. However, it is quiet and very clean. It is cheaper than the Hotels near the ski resorts that are ripping off everyone.
- Ashley R (8/5): Pretty good - I e stayed here 3-4 times now. I like the historic-ness of the building, lounge/bar area, and restaurant. The staff are all super friendly. Beds are likely pretty old as each one slept in dip in weird places. Rooms are fairly clean. It’s an old building so I can look past the tiny shower I had this time on my king room. I do wish there was space for a mini fridge in the rooms vs. leaving my food in a large fridge that everyone shares. I enjoy the coffee on the main floor. Definitely not for folks with accessibility issues as no rooms on first floor and beyond steep stairs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Delaware Hotel on Valentines' Day - I enjoyed staying at the Delaware. Leadville removes the 1-70 traffic and makes it an easy drive to Ski Cooper or Copper Mountain. The Delaware is a wonderful historic building. They provide coffee in the morning and have a lovely restaurant and bar. The accommodations are comfortable. The place was kept warm. Parking is nearby but not at the hotel unless you are lucky to get off the street in front.
- Cathleen (8/5): - Leadville is a historic mining town in Colorado. The entry to the Delaware is warm and inviting and my family and I had a fabulous night sleep. The staff welcomed us with popcorn and help unloading our luggage. You feel safe and appreciated for staying with them. The restaurant food was delicious and the ambiance was cozy and warm. Our server described our choices exactly to what we received. The meal was so delicious we returned for breakfast before heading out to ski. It was an adventure climbing the stairs to our room and being welcome to a vintage experience. It was a unique experience and we will come again.

- Hannah (10/5): - Would 10/10 stay at the Delaware Hotel again. I NEVER write hotel reviews but felt the staff and ambiance here deserved the glowing review. The staff went above and beyond to make my group feel welcome on my bachelorette trip. The hotel restaurant was probably the best restaurant in town, and the staff at the Delaware was very accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Rooms were clean too. Older fixtures (to be expected), so keep in mind that some things may have some “quirks” to them, like holding the toilet handle down to flush, etc.
- AlexRohe (10/5): Definitely Worth a Stay - The hotel is an old hotel with some quirks to it; however, that is what makes this hotel fantastic. The beds where very comfortable, our lunch was great, and the shower was hot. Quirky things ... no elevator due to age of building and our sink was in the main sleeping area vs the bathroom. - Kyle (10/5): - We loved this property. It's an historic hotel, with all of the character you would expect to find in such a historic place. The on site restaurant was delicious and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
- Michael (10/5): Memorable Stay - Amazing old hotel with classic furnishings and wonderful staff. Super easy to check in and out. Great WiFi and TV service. The restaurant and bar are top notch. I stayed here with my brother while we ski’d at Ski Cooper and we are definitely coming back. This is our only hotel in Leadville from now on. The bed was super comfy and the room was quaint. Stay here if you want a memorable visit to Leadville. Shout out to Rae for making our dinner even more enjoyable. Her service was amazing and she is the best server I’ve had in a long time.
- troy (8/5): - Rae at the front desk was kind and courteous. The room was just fine. Nothing special. Bed was very comfortable. The bar downstairs was great. Breakfast was good. I’d stay here again. It’s walking distance to anything downtown. Good place to stay if going to ski cooper.
- Barbara J (8/5): - Yasmine was so welcoming and totally efficient in her role. We loved her. Thanks for the great customer service, the lobby bar and tv area was our favorite area of the hotel!
- Sandy (2/5): Don’t use their app - My issue is with both hotel and the app I booked it through. Their app is horrible. I booked with insurance but due to a snow storm, we couldn’t get through. I notified the hotel that morning but I was told I had to cancel through hotel.com. I bought trip insurance through the app but trying to easily find a way to cancel reservation was next to impossible. When I was finally able to get an agent and not AI, was told I was too late. Agent tried to get hotel to reverse but they wouldn’t budge. Sorry I even made the reservation. The reviews say the hotel is rough. Maybe with my free money, they can make improvements
- Steven (10/5): - Loved the old western feel of the hotel. Inconvenient, steep stairways, but that's part of the charm. Hope they don't change the hotel and keep working to hold on to that 1850s feel!

- Verified traveler (8/5): Historic hotel - conveniently located but... - The hotel is located right on the main street. One thing that stood out were the staff. They are really courteous, mild mannered and really helpful. The hotel is quite historic in terms of its overall decor. A few things that stood out for us: - No elevator in the hotel. The steps are narrow and when we are traveling in as out of state travelers, the heavy bags coupled with altitude sickness can become quite a nuisance. - The beds are rather small. The double beds that should comfortably sleep two are not wide enough and for a 6 foot person like me, I can't stretch my legs fully. - The wash basin is on the outside which adds a new level of inconvenience after a bathroom visit. The hotel pricing is good and is in a convenient location to all the stores and restaurants. There is adequate parking as well. The hotel itself has restaurants for lunch, dinner or breakfast options. We liked pretty much everything with the hotel except the things listed above.

- caraw567 (10/5): Beautiful hotel with an even better staff - I was with a group that visited just before Halloween. The staff was welcoming, helpful, accommodating, and so wonderful to interact with all weekend. Yasmine and Brittany are rockstars and Danny is fantastic behind the bar! On top of that, the hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms were clean and cozy. And it was fun interacting with the local spirits ;) We 100% will come back!
- Travel38823725302 (10/5): Halloween Delaware hotel experience. - Had a wonderful time during our gathering with friends for a Halloween event. The Bartender was superb ! All staff was so well attentive and kind to our efforts. Thank you to Yasmine and Brittany for managing our stay and made it a wonderful experience
- runyonder (10/5): A MUST stay! - This place was incredible. The staff was so helpful, accommodating and friendly. The hotel is SO COOL and they had so many wonderful little authentic touches. Our group was large and a lot of work and they rocked it. I would definitely go back. Do NOT miss out on eating at their restaurant. Absolutely fabulous food. I can’t say enough great things about our trip, stay and the overall experience! A special shout out to Yasmine and Brittany- thank you thank you :)
- Companion701847 (10/5): Incredible Experience - What an incredible experience all around! A very large group of friends (50+) got together to celebrate Halloween together here, and I cannot say enough. This is a true gem of a hotel, made even more wonderful by the absolutely wonderful staff! The remodel of the main floor is stunning and has a great bar and a fantastic restaurant. The rooms all had comfortable, plush mattresses. And, they were thoughtful enough to include a sound machine in each room. I slept like a baby. Above and beyond this though, truly, was the staff of the hotel. Jasmine and Brittny especially were the most gracious, fun, and accommodating hosts. We were a big, boisterous group, and did it all with multiple Halloween costume changes. Not only was the whole staff incredibly kind (and full of fun tidbits about the history of the hotel), but they wound up joining right in on the fun with costumes of their own! If you are anywhere near Leadville, absolutely go check this place out!

- timothyj156 (10/5): Must visit Colorado hotel - What an incredible property!! We stayed this weekend and it is such a cool hotel. They have updated the lobby impeccably and the rooms are comfy and retain the original charm of the historic space. Staff was so helpful and kind. Yasmine and Britney elevated the place to beyond 5 star hospitality. And the restaurant was so good. Great breakfast and pizza. We ate there everyday. Can’t wait to find a time to go back again! Highly recommend
- rosilynm2024 (10/5): Best Hotel in Leadville! - This space is gorgeous and unique! The location is ideal, central on the main street. The space is beautifully preserved, good cocktails, and delicious food on site. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Especially Brittany and Jasmin!
- Melodie R (8/5): Nice location, not great if you have issues with s - The room was clean but very small and tight with the king bed. We were on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators, not conducive to bad knees. It was close to the train station and many restaurants.
