I would put in firmer pillows that was our only complaint. Instead of those tiny shampoo bottles use a hand press for shampoo and conditioner -saves recycling plastic bottles

• Evelyn (8/5): - This is an older hotel that doesnt try to be modern. Enjoy the 'Grand' atmosphere and don't expect it to be fresh and updated. It's clean, comfortable, rooms are a good size and the staff was incredible. Parking was free and easy and they had underground, secure parking which was amazing. Beds were the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept on. Overall, the stay was well worth the money and better than some more modern 4 star hotels I have stayed at. Nothing

• Duane Anne (7/5): Adequate for a short stay - The lobby decor was charming and inviting. Luggage trolleys were available. The bed was too soft. The pillow were too big for sleeping on the side. The staff were capable but not particularly friendly or helpful.

• Joan (9/5): Lovely hotel with everything needed and in a convenient central location. - The lobby is beautiful and the location is convenient. Comfortable and quiet room. Very nice to have a fridge and microwave, even though I did not need them on this visit. The room had that faint smell of air freshener used to cover up smoke, even though it is a non-smoking hotel. Don't know what can be done about that. Otherwise, a spacious and well appointed room. It would be nice if breakfast was available in the restaurant.

• Marianne (3/5): Very disappointing - Location. Beds were comfortable. Dismissive front desk fellow when issues were brought up. Noisy room right on main road and close to main Hwy. Jet tub inoperable. Dirty ice cube tray and coffee cup. Found a live bug in between pillows and a dead bug when I pulled down the sheets. Loud corridors. Could hear people talking and screaming at kids when walking past. Meals expensive and just average. No bottled water in rooms.

Would be good to offer some kind of breakfast even if it’s in the lobby. Complimentary coffee downstairs and / or smoke breakfast items for a fee.

• Peter (9/5): GOOD ROOM ,POOR COFFEE. - Under ground ,secure parking. Rooms were very clean,non-smoking and non pets !!!YAHOO. Like all the hotels , the "In Room" coffee still tastes like card board , barely drinkable.
• Javier (8/5): Nice place to stay while in Nanaimo - The room was clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The entrance was well decorated and inviting. The staff were helpful and courteous. The underground parking was convenient. The restaurant was closed during our stay. It would be awesome if breakfast was also available. Also, it was understood that there was a pool at the facility at one time and it would be even more awesome if there was a least a hot tub.
