• René (6/5): - Vlak bij de snelweg en toch totale rust gedurende de nacht dankzij de kamers in de houten gebouwtjes achter het hotel. Je denkt even in Zweden te zijn. Fijn dat je na een lange reis ook kan eten in het restaurant, zelfs op de maandag. Ruim ontbijt. Alles gelijkvloers: ideaal voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Parkeerplaatsen meer dan voldoende en veilig vanwege een afsluitbaar hekwerk.
• Thierry (10/5): - Le séjour c’est bien passé, la douche pas de raclette, le rideau de douche pour personne à mobilité réduite jaune par le bas et blanc en haut sa couleur et pas de prise à côté du lit pour les personne qui ont un appareil respiratoire pour la nuit comme moi, j’ai du enlever la prise du téléphone pour mon appareil respiratoire. Sinon le reste ça va.
• Louisa (10/5): - Stopped at this hotel on a drive through France and it was great. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food is delicious and the pool is a lovely way to unwind after a long drive. The rooms are perhaps a touch basic but they have everything you need and were clean and comfy. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

• Emmanuel (10/5): Nous y reviendrons - Suite à un grave accident sur autoroute à 6 Km de l'hôtel, nous sommes arrivés tardivement à l'hôtel, dans la difficultés des suites de cet accident le personnel de l'accueil a été très réceptif , à l'écoute des problèmes rencontrés et donné des réponses à nos attentes et préoccupations . Les chambres des bungalows sont très bien aménagées et climatisées. Très bonne qualité et quantité pour les petits déjeuners . Pour le cote restaurant compte tenu de notre arrivée tardive nous n'avons pas pu apprécier le diner malgré une très belle carte . Suite à l'accident nous n'avons pas pu passer les 2 Jours prévus. Au moment de regler la facture ne pouvant que passer 1 Nuit nous avons du régler les 2 Nuits car la reservation avait été faite par le site HOTEL.COM sinon la facture aurait été sur 1 Nuit Lors de notre prochain passage nous y reviendrons . • patricia (6/5): Déçue ! - J'avoue avoir été un peu déçue par l'hôtel. Nous étions logés dans un "chalet" un peu décrépi à la décoration tristounette. Quant au repas du soir c'était l'éternel poisson poché servi avec une sauce crèmee ou le non moins traditionnel magret de canard que lon trouve maintenant dans tous les restaurants qui ne se donnent plus la peine de faire de la cuisine régionale ...cest dommage.

• Thomas (4/5): Best avoided. - Welcome to Les Tours de Fawlty. The chalets are not uncomfortable but basic and thin-walled. Beds are decent, pillows brick-like. The tour de force, however, happens in the restaurant. Having read decent reviews, we were rather looking forward to some simple but good French food. Worth mentioning at this stage that I lived in France for 14 years and speak French. To start, we were rather taken aback by the prices, which are high, particularly by Vierzon standards (we stayed in a competitor establishment last time, which was far more reasonable). We decided to push on, long day, late (8pm), tired. Charcuterie, not bad but at €16 for a slice of paté and a couple of slices of other cured meats, it should have been more generous and better. A skinny foie gras, disappointing. The main course of steak (€28) was tough and bland with no sear, and accompanied by a luke warm potato gratin and some other unidentifiables. That went back, prompting shock from the waitress, disbelief from front of house and utter outrage from the gesticulating breeze-block chef, all of whom took turns to challenge my - clearly ignorant - view of the culinary arts. But the beef is French, Monsieur, and everything is cooked in-house! I expected Manuel to burst in at any moment. Cheese, difficult to get wrong in France. And the tarte tatin, a saving grace from complete disaster. One might be tempted to think of this place as quirky or charmingly anachronistic but, basically, it is sub-par. Skip it if you can.

• Graham (10/5): Great value and access from Autoroute - Great location just off the motorway. Safe secure parking, restaurant and bar very reasonable prices, maybe they had an off night with the chef when we went, only average.

• Martin (4/5): Steer clear if not fluent in French. - The service was distinctly lacking. Initially for a booking for 4 only 3 beds were made up, little thing but on top of everything else... No language assistance when struggling. Despite being English I do have limited ability with French and fluent German, but was struggling withe the evening meal. When asking if the was a translation available all that was offered was a non, no offer to explain and no redirecting to the waitress or waiter who could speak English, as we found out later. The room was ok, the pool was small but satisfactory, the breakfast was ok but not extensive. Checkout took too long as the lady on the desk in the morning was busy showing the housekeeping team how to put up garden umbrellas at 9:00 am!
• Manuel (6/5): Cadre agréable, mais... - L'hôtel dispose d'un cadre agréable, une bonne table permettant de découvrir les mets locaux. L'environnement est calme, la disposition sous forme de chalets à été appréciée. La piscine est plus petite que ne laisse paraître l'illustration du site internet. Celle ci dispose d'une terrasse avec salons de jardins mais pas de service bar. Les horaires d'ouverture 14h à 19h semblent inadaptés aux horaires de prise de chambre 17h départ 11h30. Le personnel au caractère, dirons nous, brut, nous à laissé un sentiment désagréable de malaise.
• Michele (10/5): Very kind and caring owner of the Hotel - I double booked our family room in error due to the Hotels.com website crashing on me while making the payment. The Owner of the Hotel has very kindly given us a free night on our return journey because of this mishap and he has even thrown in breakfast for us too. He didn’t have to do this as his Hotel is fully booked. We don’t speak French and yet they were very kind to us as they could see we were upset by the error. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone. We are looking forward to our last night of our holidays in this lovely, family friendly hotel. 10/10!

• Kate (10/5): - This hotel was a lovely surprise. We stayed one night en route between camping sites. Very close to the motorway but once inside, it’s a peaceful location. We all loved the swimming pool which was very welcome in the August heat. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The restaurant was more upscale than expected - the food and service were excellent. We had a family room which was clean and a good size. It was incredibly hot which isn’t the hotel’s fault. Electric fans were provided and helped a lot. We didn’t explore the area at all as we were heading out the next morning (after another swim!) but would definitely recommend the hotel as a great place to break your journey.

Pas d'ascenseur donc monter au second avec une grosse valise est compliqué . • Terence j (10/5): Highly recommended. - This was a great find. We normally break our journey through France with overnight breaks near Orleans or Bourges but decided to give Vierzon a try. The Chalet de la Forêt was easy to find, the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our chalet was spacious, clean and air conditioned with a good walk in shower....and a large comfy bed. The evening meal was well devised, well presented, very tasty and more than reasonably priced. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent ... the staff again very friendly. Would we stay again? Yes, without doubt!

Food at evening meal, taken outside on terrace has improved. Menu de terroir is better than previous. Good choice at breakfast to set us up for next day's driving.

• Dave (8/5): Good place to stay. - This is a very convenient place to stop on long journeys to south of France. Just off motorway but very quiet and the chalets are very good if you have pets with you. Chalets are air conditioned too. Vierzon is only 5 minutes away by car and has some nice eating places but the hotel does nice meals outdoors in the summer
• John (8/5): Usually a very good choice. - Have used this hotel before. Very good value for money. Very easy access from Motorway systems. Chalets private and very good parking. Food excellent. Only drawback this time was the absence of any control over the airconditioning unit in Room 301. Could not switch on or off, nor regulate heat/coolness. No zappeur or obvious means of control.
