- Mary (10/5): Would stay again! - This is a very nice hotel. Our King suite had plenty of space, large bathroom with plenty of towels and towel bars, nice kitchenette. Corner room was quiet (hotel was filled with volleyball players and we didn’t hear anything!) Breakfast was good, lots of options and staff were very attentive. Front desk staff were awesome too. Parking garage was convenient. Location for our event in at the convention center was great. Not complaining because it is what it is - but our stay was pricey due to location for a sold out event.
- Kerry (10/5): Very positive stay at the Residence Inn and will readily recommend it to my friends and family. - Breakfast was better than expected, good number of healthy options and food was fresh and tasty. The staff member in the breakfast area was very nice and helpful and was always working to keep the area refreshed and tables clean. Melissa at the front desk was very kind and cheerful when we checked in and was very helpful later when we needed information on the area and directions. Amanda Williams was especially helpful when we checked out early. We had encountered a traumatic experience in the city area and decided to return home. Amanda recognized our distress and was immediately empathetic and offering assistance. We are grateful she was our departing encounter in Kansas City, helping us leave with a positive impression and confidence. She was outstanding. hotel parking was very full and we found the final spot on the return from one of our events.

We weren’t told that as a guest, you had to pay $34 a day to park in the hotel parking lot…Also, one morning my fiance forgot room key, and I was asleep with the baby. They refused to let him into breakfast when he couldn’t get ahold of me to let him back in room to get key. They also wouldn’t give him another key.

She never stops moving, yet always makes time for quick chats and greets guests with a warm smile. Cindy is incredibly attentive to everyone’s needs and keeps the room spotless at all times. You would never guess that she works two jobs, seven days a week, given her energy and positive attitude. She is truly an asset to the Marriott brand. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are quite comfortable. Everyone we have encountered has been exceptionally kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

- W5012SFmiker (4/5): Frigid Air - Frigid Response - I stayed 2 nights at the beginning and end of my road trip. The 1st night, in October 2025, it was 59 degrees in the room. Numerous calls to the front desk did not get maintenance to the room. Considering that a fluke, I stayed again at the end of my road trip for nostalgic reasons. Surprisingly the room was again 59 degrees, but maintenance did show up around an hour after numerous calls. Turns out they bypass the thermostat and allow the fan to blow that cold air across the bed. I also nearly cut my hand when grabbing a tissue as the corner of the mirror was broken. I brought all this to the attention of management and......crickets. Stay there if you must, but dress warm and expect slow response times to your needs.

Parking garage is conveniently located right behind the property. The room was very spacious & clean. The only complaint I had is that the breakfast could have been a little better. Would stay here again.
- Will (10/5): Great Experience! - One of the best places I’ve stayed. Wonderful room; clean, new, modern with plenty of space. The only negative: desk staff did not explain how to pay for parking. You aresupposed to scan a QR code when you park, but I thought I should scan at the end since that’s typically when yo pay for something. The hotel should handle payment and add it to the bill like everyone else does.

- travelmomwkids (8/5): Clean, dependable stay, centrally located - Another descent, comfortable stay. Booked 1 night, one king bedroom. This hotel had spacious rooms. The lobby was airy and modern. This RI shared the building with Courtyard so half the floor was Courtyard and the other half was RI. The rooms could use a bit of updating. I've been in other RIs where it looked more modern with cleaner lines. Breakfast could be a bit better, those pork sausages could be used as ammunition they were so hard. I have a feeling they have been reheated from day before. I would stay there again if I had to go to Kansas city, Mo.

The front desk staff just seemed so eager to be helpful with anything we asked, and they also just genuinely seemed like they liked their job. Even the maintenance guy that brought us a fan - he took the time to tell us how to use it, and when he saw us the next day, he asked if it worked alright for us…it’s just the extra effort all of the staff put forth to make us feel cared for. It was above the usual standard of hotels. The hotel was very, very clean as well.

- Raymond (10/5): Stay at this residence inn - I really enjoyed the stay at the residence inn downtown Kansas City near the convention center. It has a bar down the street, which was really good. Then the street car is not even a block away it was just so fun to visit to see kc from the WW1 monument to the Missouri River. Then back to the hotel with lovely valet parking so you don't need to worry with unlimited in and out privileges. Really nice pool. Really nice room. We were on the 9th floor city facing the south. What a beautiful room and view we had. Perfect bed and sheets, perfect amenities and a full fridge freezer and literally is a studio id love to live at lol. But I really enjoyed the stay and the breakfast was delicious and varying in section. Would come back again.

The location is ideal—conveniently situated near key attractions, restaurants, and public transport, making it easy to explore the area. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the room was spotless and well-appointed, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. Breakfast options were good and the pool was also great for a refreshing swim. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and great hospitality.

- phiNole (8/5): Overall a solid choice but needs improvements - Residence Inn for me is predictable: minimalist, no frills, but nice and comfortable, and certainly spacious. I never expect anything special, and I'm always satisfied. But, that doesn't mean that these properties can't improve, and they seem to be consistent in that aspect as well. This property has a great location, about 20 minutes from the airport and in downtown Kansas City right near a KC Streetcar stop, as well as just a few minutes' walk from several restaurants. Union Station and the Crown Center are only 8-10 minutes away on the Streetcar (if that), and Kauffman Stadium/Arrowhead are about 25 minutes by car. If the Royals ever build a downtown ballpark, then this location would also be quite close to that. Service at this Residence Inn is good. Front desk staff is nice and so is the restaurant staff. Customer service is not an area where they lack. Rooms are also nice - again, this brand is minimalist and nothing is fancy, but everything is clean and comfortable. You always have plenty of space, especially if you can manage to get a 2BD, which we could not on this trip. The pull-out sofa mattress was awful, but I managed to make it comfortable for my son by using a second blanket as a buffer between the rest of his sheets and the mattress itself. My only other complaint about the room was the thermostat: I had to set the desired temp at 55 to get the room to cool to 72 or so. Granted, it was incredibly hot the three days we were there, but even with curtains closed, the system struggled to keep the room cool. Complimentary breakfast: the Courtyard and Residence Inn share a building, but only Residence guests can have breakfast as the dining room is key-controlled. The breakfast is what you expect at properties like this: a few hot items that rotate with a constant of scrambled eggs (reconstituted), pastries, cheap yogurt, cheap juice, etc. It's decent and nothing special. Amenities: this was a mixed bag. Although my son loved the pool and we spent some time having fun in there, the fitness center is downright awful and such a waste. There is plenty of space, but so much is truly wasted. The property could offer a pull-up bar or cable station with a pull-up bar. It could feature some kettlebells. It desperately needs to have more than ONE bench, a rack of standards dumbbells, and a few cardio machines. I truly don't understand why a property designed for long-term stays (hence the name "Residence") offers so little in the way of fitness equipment. All Residence Inns do a poor job in the fitness center offering, but this one was particularly bad. The dumbbell set, which normally goes from 5 to 50 lbs., was missing a few individual dumbbells. When you offer so little to begin with, that's unacceptable. There is a lot to like about this property but it could stand some major improvements in the fitness center and the quality of the room thermostats and pull-out beds.

That area was a great place to unwind at the end of the day with all our friends. The pool was wonderful area for all the kids and of course the free cookies with popcorn was a hit with everyone! The bar was not open for service. It would have been nice to have some appetizers and cocktails available for purchase. Also one day there were no cookies baked and the kids were expecting them.

I was disappointed that the resturant was not open to the Courtyard visitors and only included for the Residence visitors. That made the avaialbility of food very limited to only what was offered by the Starbucks in the hotel.
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great! We were first meet by the pleasure valet, who polite and accommodating. The front desk staff were polite and ready to answer questions. The hotel was gorgeous and the room with view was awesome.
- Donna (4/5): I will never stay there again. - The suite was nice and the big sleeper couch was nice. It was valet parking only charging an additional $35, it was not made very clear on their website about that. I did not like valet parking at all. And when I got my car back, my window that was broke had been rolled down and they broke it worse now it won't stay up. They did not even apologize, they said they didn't do it, which was a lie. I contacted the hotel and parking.com about it and neither one even replied.

- Melissa (7/5): Overall, I had a great time. - The location, staff and breakfast was wonderful. The room was well organized. I asked for a smoke free and pet free room. There was a subtle odor in the room that caused my allergies and asthma to be worse unsettled. When I left the room for long periods of time, I felt better.

I wish I could remember her name, but the valet person I had Friday afternoon when I arrived and when I left Sunday morning was amazing! Happy cheerful and just made you smile! She even remembered my name this morning and she did not work yesterday. Of all the valet people over the weekend she was bar far the best! The others-ok! The lows and frustrations were directed straight to cooperate.

- Jonathan (8/5): - Hotel room was clean and well equipped. The air conditioning was a bit deficient and we had limited hot water which may have been due to being on the 8th floor. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of both hot and cold foods. There weren’t enough staff present though to keep the tables clean and most guests cleaned their own tables.

- Bonny (10/5): Excellent place to stay. Close to everything you may need and excellent service. - Location was perfect and in walking distance of our venue. Valet parking was easy and well thought out allowing for adding it to the room bill and electronic tipping. Breakfast was good. Good variety of food and drink. Room large and very comfortable. Shower with built in shampoo and contioner and body wash instead of the tiny sample size was very helpful and perhaps more efficient. Nice to have the King suite. Snacks and food available. Staff very helpful and smiling. Enjoyed the curtains with shears so sun came in but still privacy from hotel across from ours. Later checkout is nice. Most checkout times are 11 am, so 12 pm was nice. Earlier check in would be nice. Would trade the earlier checkout of 11 am to have at least 3pm check in time instead. Breakfast could be warmer. Sausage was cold and plates could be warmed so food doesn't get cold quick. Coffee was very bold and no choice for medium roast. Had to use a lot of creamer /milk to balance it.
