• hunter (2/5): - My stay at Ramada Hotel Guyana was deeply disappointing and far below expected standards. Upon arrival, the room was in an unhygienic and neglected condition. There was a dead cockroach on the floor, the air conditioning unit leaked water continuously, and the bathroom was poorly maintained — the toilet had visible stains, and water leaked from the shower area, which eventually flooded the room and closet space. In addition, the mirrors were stained, and overall cleanliness was severely lacking. When these issues were reported, the staff was dismissive, unprofessional, and unhelpful, showing little regard for guest comfort or hotel standards. For a hotel operating under the Ramada brand, this experience was unacceptable. The property requires immediate attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and staff training to meet even basic hospitality expectations.

• Pardwady (6/5): - This hotel needs updating for the money the charge per night the need to do a better job cleaning also, please for goodness sake change the bed skirts and sweep / mop under the bed and behind the doors. I stayed there 4 times since 2022 and my last month visit will be my last. I am going to find another hotel to stay at going forward.

• Yuvita (6/5): - We stayed at Ramada for 10 nights during CPL, the service is extremely poor, the free buffet breakfast is the same kind of food every morning, nothing special. The room is big, bed is comfortable, AC is great but the bathroom and toilet need some fixing. The housekeeper on the 5th floor is sloppy, can't clean the room probably. This is our 4th year staying at the hotel during CPL and this year the standard is the worst.
• NICOLE (4/5): - The management of this hotel needs to be fired. While it is an older property, a proper cleaning will solve a multitude of ills. Everything worked, at no tume was any area not in service but there is no attention being paid to the labour intensive operations. The very young and inexperienced staff received no training or guidance and were overwhelmed. Despite these circumstances, the staff were mostly pleasant. The food was not at all badly priced nor was it bad tasting. Location is ideal for events at Provodence Stadium. CLEAN the ppty.

• G (6/5): - I am surprised at how rundown the property is. Room I was checked in yo had no trading lamps and was not prepared for occupancy. After complaining I was moved to another room and the next morning discovered to my dismay that there was no hot water and the safe was not functioning. They came to fix it but the situation did not improve. I had to be moved to a third room before I had a room that was actually prepped to receive a guest. If I hadn't been checking out the next day I don't think I would have been moved, because apparently the room was being made available for an incoming guest...

• Dropattie (4/5): - Good location but needs to work on the cleanliness of the property. The 1st night I arrived, the cashier by the poolside got drunk and was taken off duty. I ordered calamari with fries. The calamari was undercooked and white. The plantain fries were soft, and the fish was slobbered with batter. The waiter was trying his best to accommodate everyone. The bathrooms were horrible like it had not been cleaned for years; there was no lighting in the bathroom. The remote had no batteries, the room had a smell, and we had to open the balcony to have the room aired out. The security area next to the casino was like a hoarder's paradise, with beer bottles, hats, food boxes, etc., scattered about. One guest told me he had to change his room 3 times, one time due to roaches. This was supposed to be a prestigious hotel, especially since it is next to the stadium and the Demerara Bridge. Please re-establish the standard of this hotel

The housekeeping staff were so friendly, nice and accommodated request for extra blanket. My only complaint was the shower water was at best tepid. The best thing was the buffet breakfast. All the omelet Chefs were good, but there was one Chef in particular, I didn't get her name, but on our last day, either 8/25 or 8/26 she took the omelet to the next level. She was not only outstanding with her omelet adding a tomato and lettuce topping, but while conversating with her she said she loved what she does and so her eggs are made with love. I agree made you feel safe & secure.

Elevator broke down twice while we were on it. Pool had lots of broken tiles, husband cut his foot on it. Overall not worth the money. Wouldn't stay here again.

Unfortunately, even one night was too many. The hotel is in serious need of maintenance and upgrades. Our room was in poor condition—there was a rusty trash can, a rusty toilet paper holder, a hole in the bathroom wall, and the toilet seat and sink were filthy. The state of cleanliness was unacceptable, and it reflected poorly on both housekeeping and management. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel. It was not worth the $261 CAD I spent

Pool closed too early and Casino is not 24 hour is outrageous at least you could provide that as a key amenities cause everything is unstructured and unprofessional. Security and armed staff yet people get robbed smh…I am gonna need RAMADA/ PRINCESS TO DO BETTER!!!!!! Especially for the nightly rate.

• Judie (6/5): - Travelled with my family of 5 and brought with me a sense of wonder and enthusiasm for my return to GT after over a decade. There are definite bright spots from the included, authentic breakfast and large pool. However, the consistent disappointment was the staff service and even management treatment of staff. Almost no one seemed happy with the exception of 2-3 staff (Travis at concierge, a room maid and the black lady who held down the egg station at breakfast) and moved at their own pace seemingly from silent protest or lack of will. The attitudes quickly became unbearable. At dinner, we overhead the servers openly refuse to answer the room service phone because “it’s too annoying.” This was consistent with our experience trying to use room service….the phone just rang and range. Also, the rooms need better maintenance. There were lots of roaches and many surfaces that were not wiped down. Perhaps all of the real attention is going to the casino next door, but this location is in serious need of improvement.
• Curtis (2/5): - This was by far one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From check-in to check-out, the overall attitude of the staff was cold and unwelcoming. Whether at the front desk or in the dining area, it felt like guests were seen as a burden rather than being treated with any level of hospitality. Asking a simple question or seeking assistance was met with visible frustration and dismissiveness. The food was absolutely terrible—not only lacking in quality but a complete waste of money. Given that hospitality and food service are two of the most important aspects of any hotel stay, it’s extremely disheartening that both were so poorly managed. The facility itself was just as concerning. The ice machine was broken, the showers had visible mold, and shockingly, they left a moldy bath mat in the bathroom for use—completely unacceptable. We were only provided two bath towels, with no face towels or additional linens available. The pool area was filthy. The entire edge of the pool was covered in mold, and the tile line that should have marked the depth was so dirty it was barely visible. The only positive interactions I had were with people outside the hotel and airport—ironically, the two places where you expect the most customer service were the worst. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience truly deserves to be acknowledged. It was not just a disappointment—it was unsanitary, unfriendly, and absolutely not worth the cost.

• Verified traveler (10/5): A Delightful One-Night Stay with Unexpected Charm - My family and I stayed for just one night, but everything about the experience was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view. Evening the evening entertainment which we hadn't expected was great! Ms. Charmaine Blackman's performance added a vibrant, enjoyable touch to the night. We would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a delightful and memorable stay.

The sheets were not change and the staff had an attitude to change them at our request. The hotel was nice enough but the staff needs training. The guests are the reason they are employed and they need to make the guests feel welcomed.

Room service spoil my time at the hotel. 2nd day no one change the towels, empty the garbage nor clean the room. After 9pm a supervisor came apologizing. On the 3 day, towels were removed but were not replaced. After 7pm a male housekeeper heard me complaining at the front desk, came and addressed my needs. Within the hour he came to the room with a colleague with fresh towels. I recommend managers/supervisors stress the importance of good customer service. No one would recommend a hotel if their service is bad.😟😢

• Padmini (2/5): - My cousin and I stayed at Princess July 11 -14th room #612. Someone walked into our room at 2:30am and turned on the lights the first night we stayed there. I called the front desk and the receptionist at that time said they will relate the complaint to the manager at 8:30am but did not. I went down and follow-up in the morning before going for breakfast. I spoke to the manager who expressed to me that no one told her anything. I am extremely disappointed that this matter was handled as though it is no issue. Me and my family travel to Guyana frequently but usually stayed at Grand Coastal. This was our first stay at Princess because we had a function to attend in West Demerara and the PPP/C fundraiser dinner which took place at Princess on Saturday July 12th. Because of the way this incident was handled I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. I understand human error since we switched room, but this should have been handled with respect for your guests. No one even reached out to us afterwards. We are also Club Wyndham owners and are extremely DISAPPOINTED and will complin to them also. Hopefully these kinds of hotel staff mistakes will be handled better in the future.

• Jennifer (2/5): Worst hotel ever - We had 3 rooms booked and all rooms had to be changed due to mold, ac broken, my daughter was in the bathroom when the lock broke, bad smell like a dead rat, or cleaning of the room was so bad we couldn’t stay in it. We ended up buying bleach and cleaning the room our self’s. Roaches coming come from ac vent or refrigerator. Mold on wall and bathrooms. The toilet had poop on under the seat before we even used it. The team members didn’t do anything to help cleaning crew manager ask if things are better but I don’t understand how something could be better if you don’t clean no one even came into the room to clean.

They need improvement in keeping the place clean. Breakfast was good. I payed for an extra night on the same day I was supposed to check out, because my fl was 1159 at night. They did not clean my room. I also want to say something about Expedia. The last time I booked with then in the cozy apartment with pool in Sophia , Georgetown, Guyana , the place was a garbage. I made several complaints and they still have that place on their website. It’s a scam and bad neighborhood. They are also on travel best and you cannot rate it on Expedia or Travel next. Please be aware.

• JuneAnn (8/5): GT vacay - A+ customer service, courteous staff including the security staff and house keeping. Appreciated there were security on-site. Enjoyed the daily breakfast which was a wide variety of traditional Guyanese foods. Thank you dinning room/kitchen staff for accommodating our requests and doing such a great job. We enjoyed the fun park, pool bar and entertainment (live music). We didn't get to enjoy the pool because of time constraints but it appears to be clean. Would be nice if the pool hours were later than 6 p.m. The rooms and hotel itself needs lots of upgrading, TLC to fix the rotting ceiling and other deteriorating structures. We encountered a stained bed sheet the first night which staff quickly replaced without a fuss. But in the first place it should not have been placed on the bed. The blanket had stains as well as the mattress. Mattress needs to be thrown away, period! Towels were torn and stained, the couch had a stain on it that could have easily been cleaned when the spill first occurred. The gym was ok, small, not a lot of equipment. The only working treadmill out of the 3, needs calibrated, it was sluggish and the stats were way off. It would be greatly appreciated if there were designated smoking areas. Folks were just smoking every corner I turned which flared up my asthma and caused me to not stay outside too long in the lounge area enjoying the live music. Please consider designated smoking areas. Overall, yes, I would stay here again.

The food was HORRIBLE, from the breakfast to lunch to dinner. On one occasion I got STALE rice with my order and was very disheartened it only one example. I think it is due to the new staff that this hotel brought on. I am reconsidering staying at a different hotel on my future trips.

• Seion (2/5): - Horrible Experience Beware of Credit Card Fraud and Scamming Staff I had a terrible experience at the Ramada Georgetown Princess Hotel that no guest should ever have to go through. Not once, but twice, staff at the hotel restaurant attempted to steal my credit card. On top of that, I later discovered a fraudulent charge of $727 USD placed on my card without my authorization. To make matters worse, this wasn't just a one-off issue. It's clear that this is part of a larger scam operation, and shockingly, hotel management seems complicit or completely indifferent. When I brought up the fraudulent charge, there was no effort to help, investigate, or take responsibility. The entire experience was deeply unsettling and unprofessional. If you value your money, safety, and peace of mind, DO NOT stay at this hotel. I highly advise others to avoid this place until proper security measures are put in place and the corrupt behavior is addressed.

Clearly, cleanliness is not a priority here. To make matters worse, there were no towels provided upon arrival, and housekeeping never showed up during my stay. For the price, basic standards like cleanliness, prompt service, and fresh towels should be a given. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to others.
