Guest Reviews
- oliver (10/5): Great decor, food(breakfast) was lovely. Lots of cats to fuss over! - Lovely setting and decoration. Great view from the dinning area.
- Paolo (8/5): -
- Catherine (8/5): - Harry was great...very helpful!
- Angela (7/5): -
- Helena (7/5): - Café da manhã bom e quartos confortável pelo preço O aquecimento da água do chuveiro tinha problemas. A água esquentava e esfriava, difícil de regular
- Boris (10/5): -
- Marie (9/5): Great and quit stay - 10mins walk to the pier. - Super clean, The staff were very conscientious and attentive. The hotel an the rooms have everything you need. Its 10min walking to the main pier, it’s quit at night and it has a great every day changing breakfast. Owners are really friendly and have great service! Definitely recommended! There are a few cats that want to play. One evening, one of them scratched me really hard. You have to be careful when you sit in the yard. Keep doors closed because they also get in the rooms.
- Tony (6/5): OK for back packers - The pre information and assistance was very good. Harry was not working. Lucrezia found it difficult to communicate and seemed unfriendly but efficient.
The room was small and without seating, places to open bags, shelving, hooks. Needed net curtai ns no hair dryer socket near a mirror. No coffee facility except at breakfast.
- Geoffrey (8/5): -
- Jerilynn (9/5): Lovely stay, awesome staff, great breakfast. - Staff were excellent. Roma super clean and the breakfast was great It’s about a 15 min walk to the center.
- Laurie (3/5): -
- Katie (10/5): Great Galapagos Find! - Exceptionally clean and comfortable with daily room service, laundry, purified water, full breakfast with beautiful view overlooking the island from top floor. This was not a negative for us but saw others commented so wanted to explain. It is <10 minutes from the waterfront with a steep downhill walk. Taxis cost only $2 to return! We were grateful to be in a quieter residential area of the town which allowed us to stop in to local bakeries and shops as we walked to the touristy areas.
- Laurie (4/5): Not a good experience - It's a ten-minute walk to the water.
The outdoor area is a nice place to lounge, lots of seating and several friendly cats wandering around.
Breakfast was good and plentiful and served on a rooftop with a great view. The room smelled strongly of pesticide. There was no screen in the window (so the cats could just come in).
One of the bedside lights didn't work which meant only overhead lighting.
I woke up to a line of tiny ants crossing my side of the bed!
The hot tub was not working which was unfortunate because that would've been a positive.
The one staff person there tried hard, but didn't know how to use the credit card machine. We waited way too long - twice - once when we arrived and again before we went out to dinner. She did video calls with her boss who tried unsuccessfully to walk her through it. I ended up talking to him and suggested that he spend some time training her while we settled into our room!
If this was a hostel. I'd be content. If it was $50 a night I'd figure I got what I paid for. But this was a big disappointment and I wish I'd paid more and stayed on the water.
- Shaena (10/5): - The owner was friendly and accommodating! We only stayed one night but the room was clean and there was hot water for showers! It’s writhing walking distance of the boardwalk/restaurants and bars.
Lots of cats around which I enjoyed but if you’re allergic, I’d take heed!
- Jaume (10/5): Molt recomanable - Molt comode. Instal.lacions grans, molt bona atenció, transfer a port i aeroport de franc, bon esmorzar i habitació. Molt bon preu Res
- Benjamin (9/5): -
- Shirish (10/5): - Property was good, staff was excellent, few concerns were no hot water at 6:30 am, room was a bit tiny & too many cats roaming around. Also the hotel is not walkable to the pier or most of the restaurants, but taxis r only $2 per ride.
Host lady was exceptionally good, she made our breakfast available before time so v made it to 7 am excursion.
- Ricardo (6/5): Good - Hotel is ok overall but needs some updating. Jacuzzi and TV are offered but none are working. No hair dryer. Host was ni e but was a little bit hars sometimes. If you are alergic to cats this is not for you as the ha e 4-5 in the property that rest anywhere (my son had a blast though as they were super friendly) it's 15 minutes away from port and restaurantes but it's nice and quiet at night.
- Cosimo (8/5): - Freundliche Gastgeber. Organisieren als Aufmerksamkeit sogar vegane Burger zum auch sonst abwechslungsreichen Frühstück.
- Matthew (10/5): - It’s a nice place and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast is a 10 out of 10.
It’s a 10 of a walk to the town. Taxis are readily available for $2. I would stay there again.
- Corey (4/5): - I am looking for a refund as I checked out within a few hours of checking in. The property was not as advertised. The ad made it look as if there were private bathrooms in the room. That was not the case. There was a large locked metal gate that took several minutes for anyone to answer. I bought the travel insurance and would like to be refunded
- Brian (10/5): - Excellent attention and care to guest comfort. Breakfast was fantastic. The owner gives you his personal cellphone number and is happy to answer any questions.
- Marisa (9/5): Superb -
- Cassandra J (10/5): - Harry was a fantastic host, very attentive and really helped us make the most of our time in San Cristobal. Our son loved the cats in the property. We enjoyed a fairly quick walk to town. We also enjoyed breakfast.
- Adventuress115 (8/5): Very Friendly Hotel - Galápagos EcoFriendly lives up to its name. Harry, the host, was warm, helpful, and interesting to converse with. He made our stay very enjoyable.
Our room was well appointed. The AC worked well, and there was adequate space for our bags. The bed was comfortable. Wifi was good.
Breakfasts were delicious and filling. The cook was friendly. The large courtyard was colourfully decorated, including many cute cats!
The hotel is quite far from the main part of town. Getting to town is all downhill, so the walk isn’t too bad. Of course, going back is uphill, but taxis are very easy to find and are only $2.
We only consider EcoFriendly 4 star because there is no view at all from the rooms or communal areas. All you see is a tall wall that surrounds the property. There is a nice view from the rooftop dining area, but that is only open during breakfast hours.
- Benjamin (8/5): - Great breakfast, staff was great with doing our laundry for $5 — Nothing for VIP benefit
- Ethan (10/5): - Staff was incredibly helpful and hospitable. Walking distance from the main strip with restaurants. Airport pickup was included as well.
- Ben (2/5): - Not recommended. I booked this place on reviews, but then was sorely disappointed. Noisy, disruptive, and not peaceful. They push two twins together and call it a king. Definitely not worth $100 per night I paid.
- Steve (8/5): Great place for those on a budget and wanting a clean, quiet, save place to stay with breakfast. - The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was not fancy, but was clean with good air conditioning and shower. The Breakfast was excellent. Walking to the hotel from down town took about 12 minutes, mostly up hill. The room had very limited space for wardrobe and only mirror was in the bathroom.
- Maria (10/5): Hermosas vacaciones - Mi esposo y yo estubimos alojado por 4 dias , muy linda y buena attention , la recomiendo y volveria a quedarme en Galapagos Eco friendly.
- Barberena (9/5): Great stay, wonderful breakfast and met our needs nicely. - Very clean room with nice shower. WiFi and AC. Breakfast was good and plenty on 3rd floor with great view of city. An eclectic hotel with owner Harry being very accommodating making sure we had what we needed. Even had our clothes washed for us. Bonus! The property is not in the central area of town, which all in all was not a bad thing. Took some walking to get to the Malecon.
- Joan (10/5): - Really great hostel with amazing shared spaces, huge included bfast (continental plus! Omelet and empanada), super kind host. Not super close to town bust just a 15-min walk or $2 taxi.
- Maximiliane (10/5): Amazing view and perfect host - Everything was fine, especially the view over the seaside during breakfast is amazing.
Harry is super cool host, he was at the pier to bring us to the Hotel.
The rooms are well organized and everything is hidden behind wood to ensure a calm night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent hotel - Decent hotel on the periphery of town.
The owner is a nice man. Room was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good, something different everyday.
It is on a hill, so some people might struggle. But easily get a cheap taxi. Walk to the beach in 15 minutes. Water dispenser very convenient. Coffee shop was closed all the time we were there.
- wan tuen (10/5): - Thank you for the best service and environment. Harry helped us a lot and the breakfast was excellent
- Lydia (8/5): Great hostal but slightly away from the centre. - Super hotel but just a little far out of town for me. The walk up the hill was hard in the heat but taxis were easily available and reasonable.
The hotel is quirky but rooms are decent. The staff are friendly and helpful.
- Shirish (7/5): Good - Property is clean.
Cleaning crew is excellent
Owner/Manager, Harry, is very friendly and responsive We stayed here for 7 nights. Harry was there for the first 5 nights, then he left. Before going, he told me that his appointed person will take care our needs as well as make sure that we reach the airport. Day before our departure, I reminded his appointee about our departure next day. On the day of departure, she just vanished. Finally, the cook called the cab for us, which didn’t show up. Finally, I had to go on the street to hail a random cab. A stressful situation indeed.
We stayed in two different rooms during our stay. In both the rooms, it was impossible to get a lukewarm shower. Water was either extremely hot or cold.
Lastly, the hotel is away from all the action in the town. But not too bad as it is only 10-15 minutes walk or $2 by taxi.
- Shawn (10/5): Relaxing stay. - Wonderful service. Great stay. Quiet environment. Plenty of small restaurants within walking distance.
- Peter (10/5): - Harry is an awesome host.
- Laura (8/5): Great experience, fantastic host to welcome us. -
- Mary (5/5): Passable -
- Robin (7/5): Odd place but comfortable - Comfortable, clean and quiet A bit like a motel with people walking past the room windows. Very dated.
- Kyle (8/5): - My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in a king bed room. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is older, the room was on the smaller side, but had a fridge and microwave. There is no tv in the room, but we didn’t really notice or need one. The breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. There is good wifi. There is a little courtyard with lounge seats and other seating and a water jug to refill water bottles with at the front office. Luceria was very responsive to messages and was helpful and booked our taxi to the airport for our morning flight. The location was close to the waterfront for restaurants and tours, but you do have to climb up the hill on the way back (if you have mobility issues). Lots of little shops nearby for snacks and water.
- Ms_lotus (8/5): Average place - I chose this hotel based on the positive reviews. I thought the place was OK, no specific complaints. It was clean and safe. The front desk was not always staffed and we got food suggestions from her 10 year old son (who was very sweet and helpful). The pool was empty, there was no coffee/tea maker in the room, the clean water container was far away. Breakfast (to go) was bars and cardboard juices. I would not stay here again.
- Kamala (6/5): - The stay was not as it seemed in other reviews. I do not have any specific complaints but I just did not find anything that I particularly liked. The lady at the front desk seemed a little stressed out and was not very outgoing but did the needful. Breakfast to go was bars and juice. I would not stay here again.
- nannah2013 (10/5): Couldn't have asked for a more epic trip - Harry and his staff made our stay absolutely fantastic. From booking the hotel, through arrival and departure we were treated as if we were the most important ones around. We had the best day every day and will be forever grateful for Harry and company. The breakfast was such a treat with fresh fruit, cereal, bread and a personal hot plate every morning - served with a smile and enjoyed with a view of the bay. The rooms were great, spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The shower water was hot. The cold water dispenser by the office was a wonderful treat and an easy way to fill up our reusable bottles before heading out for the day.
Harry helped us book the tours we wanted to go on well in advance as we were there during peak season. All tours were amazing and we were thrilled to find that Harry works with the best companies in town - the best boats with the best and most knowledgeable crews. We had nothing but amazing experiences on our tours. Harry also called taxis for us which took us around town and into the highlands for a lovely tour there. When one of us had a dental issue, Harry got us seen by a dentist within half an hour on Christmas Eve.
Harry, you are a gem!
- Patricia (9/5): Would definitely stay here again when we come back to San Cristobal - Very clean, very comfortable. Great breakfast. Harry and his staff are highly attentive to our needs. The view at the breakfast area is awesome! Nothing
- Kristi (8/5): - Check-in was a bit bizarre because they didn't ask for any identification and the hot tub was not full, no explanation, we tried to stop by the front desk twice when staying and checking out and couldn't find anyone. Breakfast was delightful on the roof, but it's a ways away from town and felt very quiet and a bit strange with not all amenities available
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- lisamusic (10/5): Great little hotel, would recommend - Great little hotel within walking distance to downtown. Owner is very friendly, breakfast was wonderful on the second floor with a view of the ocean. Free laundry service! Nice air conditioning and they have friendly cats, which my kids enjoyed.
- Juan (9/5): Superb - Breakfast It was supposed to have a TV, but it didn't.
- Clinton and Jilly (10/5): - Very enjoyable inside, lovely cozy rooms, hot showers, great breakfasts.
The outside and neighboring buildings do not reflect the great quality of the hotel and staff.
- Ann (10/5): - Staff was amazing! Breakfast was wonderful with a beautiful view of the island. Water was provided at the entrance/check-in area. Excellent outdoor area to relax. Our room was very comfortable, offering a safe, closet, fridge, & microwave. No TV, but you don't want a tv on a beautiful island. Taxi service was great. Small pickup trucks were the taxis and readily available.
- Binu (10/5): - This is an amazing property. About 10 min walk from everything fun. It's family owned. The owner was there to pick us up on time and even arranged for return ride.
Breakfast was nice.
- Maria (8/5): Very good - The room was very clean and the staff was very attentive, in fact Mr. Harry asked us about our food-related needs from the start! The breakfast leaves you satisfied for a typical active day in Galapagos I was worried about the location of the hotel, but it is easily reachable by foot, you always find people around and shops everywhere
- Lata (10/5): - We had a fantastic 3 night stay at Galápagos Eco Friendly in Dec 2024. Harry and his family were amazing hosts - friendly and accommodating. Harry met us at the airport and made sure our room had everything we needed. The room had a/c and was cleaned everyday and hot shower in the bathroom after a day out was wonderful. Breakfast every morning was very good.
We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it!
- Peter (10/5): Excellent stay - recommended - Charming hotel, approx. 10mins walk from the waterfront. Service exceptional - Harry even kindly arranged a half day tour of the island (San Cristobal) for me at quite short notice. Would definitely recommend.
- ALEKSANDR (10/5): The best hotel in San Cristobal - Our experience at Galapagos Eco Friendly Hotel was truly outstanding! From the moment we arrived, we felt taken care of with their seamless airport pick-up and convenient drop-off at the sea port. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, offering a perfect start to each day. The staff were incredibly friendly, always ready with a smile and tons of helpful advice that made exploring the Galapagos so much easier and more enjoyable. The rooms were impeccably clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to ensure a relaxing stay. This hotel goes above and beyond in every way—highly recommended to anyone visiting the Galapagos!
- Sandrine (10/5): Unique and nice - Unique hotel in San Cristobal! Loved the eco-friendly touch and the view when you have breakfast is AMAZING. Harry was so nice and helped us so much during our stay! He booked us our tour and ferry, and even called taxi in advance to make sure we were taken to the right place. He even made us a little to-go breakfast the morning we had to take the ferry. There's a lot of cats onsite, so cute and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
- Tracy (10/5): - Fun murals, clean rooms, nice breakfast and lots of shared lounging space. Great value and still walking distance to center of town.
- Ricardo (10/5): Comfortable, clean and staff was incredibly welcoming - The staff made all the difference! Harry was so nice, helpful and made me feel really welcome! He made a massive difference and proof that people make hotel experiences even more than the facilities. It was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast filled you up. Nothing, especially for the price paid!
- AMY (10/5): - Harry goes above and beyond. Our triple room was great. The hotel is sparkling clean. We loved the cats lounging around. The breakfast was fabulous. We had an early tour and Harry had breakfast early for us. He also provided transportation from the airport, which was great.
- Carl (10/5): - Harry who runs the place with his wife is a 5-star host. We stayed 8 days and it was wonderful! We had a delicious breakfast every morning and Harry even helped us get some excellent day tours. If you're going to san cristabal island, galapagos and need a place to stay look no further. Stay at the Galapagos Eco Friendly hotel you'll be glad you did.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing stay close to the port! - Very fun & quirky hotel - reasonably priced, delicious breakfast, and Harry was amazing and attentive! Loved the outdoor areas and view from breakfast. Beds were comfortable and shower was heavenly after a long day adventuring! A 10-win walk to/from town (including the hill) -- 20-min to playa mann.
- D9282HAkristind (10/5): Lovely people and place - Our trip to the Galapagos was a last minute trip that Harry (owner of Eco Galapagos) helped turn into a well planned adventure! I had picked Galápagos Eco a week prior to our arrival, based on good reviews and location and I made the best choice possible! I can’t thank him enough for putting together an amazing comprehensive tour of the island and all its magic! We got to swim with a sliver of hammerheads, view blue footed boobies up close, visit with Galápagos tortoises and walk among sea lions and aquatic iguanas. The hotel is warm, comfortable, clean and friendly with a quirky charm that will make you smile. I’d recommend this place based on just it’s accommodations but it is Harry that made our last minute adventure perfection!
- John (10/5): - Harry and his team were so nice and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend Galapagos Eco Friendly to anyone.
- Daniela (10/5): - Beautiful property with amazing staff who were very attentive and helpful throughout
- Lionel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Happiness27070598043 (10/5): Lovely hotel, caring and kind management, good beds, good breakfast. - While at first we were worried because the hotel apparently did not get information about our arrival from Expedia (booked through Tripmasters), and we stood at the entrance for a half hour until some nice young woman offered to call the owner, Lucretia, the owner, came quickly, and then helped us find a place to eat and drove us there and back. The hotel is totally unassuming from the street, but lovely inside, with a nice courtyard, clean, well decorated rooms with comfortable beds, and a lovely breakfast from a covered, open room overlooking the bay. We couldn’t have been happier with the service provided by the hotel. While it is on the edge of town, and we walked from the ferry to the hotel on the first day (up hill), its easy to catch a cab for $2 to go anywhere in town, and Lucretia was very helpful in arranging a taxi driver to take us to the highlands to see turtles, a beach and some other aspects of the island. We highly recommend the hotel. The nice side about being on the edge is it’s very quiet, and a 10 min walk to down town restaurants (maybe you want to walk down and take a cab back since the return is all up hill). We’d definitely go back. Oh, and when our departure changed from 6am to 2pm, Lucretia was quite willing to let us have the room until we were picked up at 2. Great hospitality!
- Ali (10/5): - While San Cristobal doesn't have a huge infrastructure, the Hotel Eco Friendly was a great spot for our family. The hotel felt very safe and quiet with an incredibly welcoming staff, delicious breakfast and comfortable rooms. It was clean and relaxing and a short walk downhill to town. There is access to a washing machine as well as spots to hang wet items from your days on the water. I will add if you have a cat allergy there are MANY cats at this hotel (and all over town) so that might be something to consider.
We loved it here and I would highly recommend!
- Sarah (10/5): A lovely stay with the best hosts. - Harry's fantastic hospitality! Nothing was too much trouble and he was such a help to us with our plans. Delicious breakfast and beautiful views from the rooftop.
- Beatriz (10/5): Exceptional -
- wjow (10/5): Helpful staff, great breakfast! - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Transportation to the hotel upon arriving at the ferry and departing from the airport was arranged and even paid for. We took a taxi from downtown one day because it was raining and it was only $2. Everything was very clean and breakfast was great. Filtered water is available 24 hours a day near the office. There is a beautiful view from the dining area on the 3rd floor.
- Wendy Jo (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Transportation to the hotel upon arriving at the ferry and departing from the airport was arranged and even paid for. - Carolyn (9/5): A friendly place to stay with great staff, set on a beautiful island! - Harry welcomed and picked us up from the airport which was great as I has injured my ankle whilst in Ecuador and walking was difficult. The room we were given was clean and tidy. At breakfast the next morning Harry and his team were very welcoming and there was plenty of choice of self service food plus cooked eggs etc if one wanted them. There was a great view of the Port from the breakfast balcony. By this time I was in a lot of pain with my ankle so we went to the local hospital where they x rayed it and found out it was broken. They put the ankle in a cast but I could only stay on my holiday if I had crutches. We found out that the only crutches for sale on the Island were for a 6ft man (I am a 5ft 3inch woman). Harry jumped to our aid and cut the crutches down and then re-riveted the top of them back on. He then rang the cruise company we had booked with (Royal Galapagos) to check with them if I would be able to still go on the cruise that we were due to join in 2 days time. This was really helpful as we don't speak Spanish and Harry explained to them what had happened to me and about my injury. He told me they said I could still go on the cruise. Harry was so kind and because of his help my husband and I managed to continue with our planned holiday of a lifetime with our daughter and her fiancée. Throughout our stay Harry and all the staff at Eco Friendly hotel were helpful, cheerful, and welcoming. Without Harry adjusting the crutches I would have had to fly home immediately - thank you Harry! We bumped into Harry on Santa Cruz Island a week later and it was lovely to see his cheerful face and be able to tell him I had managed to complete the cruise despite the broken ankle! Everything about the hotel was as expected and provided a base for us whilst in San Cristobel.
- Robin (7/5): Decent place to stay .. on a simply stunning island. - Breakfast and area was great .. nice view. It is quite a long way up that road .. grab a taxi. Lots of building work going on.
- 438alexw (10/5): Great hostel with superb service! - Harry is one of the friendliest and most helpful hosts we met on our trip. He and his family and team always went the extra mile for us. The breakfast was great, featuring fresh, local food tailored to our dietary preferences, and offered a nice view of the coast. Harry was available on WhatsApp for any questions or inquiries and provided us with excellent recommendations for things to do on the island, as well as help with spontaneous tour bookings.
The tap water in the rooms is already filtered, which avoids plastic waste and is extremely convenient.
Overall, Harry and his team made our stay on San Cristobal an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
- Tammy (8/5): - Property said it had transportation from airport to hotel and we confirmed this transfer 3 times prior to arriving , but we’re still left at the airport without a pick up. We hired a taxi to take us to hotel. Description also said free area shuttle. Yet when I asked about the shuttle to go to the park, I was told they would call us a taxi which we paid for again. Much construction taking place which was fine for us. Location is not in the area of restaurants or conveniently located. It is walkable to stores and eating areas however. No working TV. Staff was very helpful in securing sold out ferry tickets for us to go to Santa Cruz. So happy for that. Also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine and breakfast to go. We preferred Santa Cruz Island over this one as well.
- Deborah (10/5): - Excellent breakfast on the top floor with an amazing view.
- Ramesh (10/5): - Harry was an excellent Host. Quiet place and easy access to all attractions and restaurants.
- shaji (10/5): - Was a good experience
- Keith (10/5): - Great people and clean room
- Gaurav (9/5): Superb - The room was big and quite comfortable. The breakfast was good. Some simple bread and cereal options but the fresh eggs was good. The hotel is on the far end of the port city, i.e., you pass my almost all other hotels while walking uphill towards this hotel. So not that great after a long day.
- Steven (6/5): fair enough for a stopover for 1 night - good breakfast with a view!
Cats :)
Harry was friendly strange smell in the room.
Owner said it's because of the insect repellent but the smell stayed... after opening door...
Construction works on site.
Lucrecia didn't seem so friendly
No show up at my airport pick up, but they paid taxi fee back to me.
- Monica (4/5): - The owner was friendly at check in but not around much and there weren’t any other staff. We received no information or maps about the area etc like we have at other locations.
It was in an inconvenient location with no restaurants around. It was difficult working out transportation to the ferry when we were leaving as nobody was around to assist us.
Breakfast was fine and we could have eggs with our continental breakfast.
I was disappointed as the ratings were so high on trip advisor.
- Glacier1998 (10/5): Great spot! - Lovely spot away from the busy area of town. Short walk to everything or a 2 dollar cab ride! The a/c works well! It’s hot here! Rooms were large and very clean. Lots of lounging areas on the grounds. Friendly cats wandering around(nice if like me you are missing your pet!) Great breakfast served upstairs with a view! The owner is very helpful, speaks fluent English and can help arrange what we you’d like to do. We loved San Cristobal and we’ll stay here again when we return!
- Hirano (6/5): Pleasant - Harry san is very kind and wonderful owner. I feel much hospitality from all staff. I hope the expansion will be finished soon.
- Nancy (10/5): - Very nice hotel in a quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the port/center. Our room was very clean, the beds were confortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the owners were super nice. We had a wonderful 3-night stay there!
- Danelle (10/5): Breakfast Rocks! - Great hosts! Locally owned, which is important to us. They went out of their way to prepare a gluten free breakfast for me both mornings. Great breakfast. Clean room with A/C. Property is a 10 min walk up a good hill, away from the hub downtown, but you can easily take a taxi. We enjoyed being a bit out of the center. Would stay there again!
- Marcela (8/5): Comfortable at a good price - Clean and nice facility All was good
- Robert (10/5): - The hotel was an oasis from the town outside the walls. The courtyard offered a respite from activities and provided us a comfortable spot to rest at night when we got back from our activities and dinner.
- Eric (10/5): Comfort and value in a wonderful package - The owner, Harry, is a stand up guy who met us at the airport, saw to our every need and was attentive and proactive in ensuring he and staff met our needs. The room was very nice, providing excellent value for money. Being off the beaten path means it was quiet in the evening and restful, a short walk to the town (10 mins) gave the opportunity to us to see some of the real Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Bith my wife and I enjoyed breakfast which was included, time with the rescue cats and the excellent wifi internet - which we learned at subsequent hotels is NOT guaranteed.
Based on the chats with Harry sounds like this place will continue to grow into an even more exquisite gem.
- DERRICK (10/5): - The family that runs this establishment may be the nicest and friendliest folks I have ever met. Their hotel is wonderful and is only outmatched by their welcoming ways. Thank you for helping to make our stay on San Cristobal so perfect!
- Pedro (9/5): The place is clean, comfortable and service is great. They will do everything to make our stay worthwhile - The property was well kept and very clean
Harry is great and always looked for our wellbeing
- 900arseng (10/5): Great place on San Cristobal Island - I booked the place thru Expedia with no preparation and in a hurry. The first impression was not favorable. Nobody met us at the airport and after a short taxi ride the empty hot street next to the metal gate was not a welcoming sight. We had to wait for long ten minutes until the gate was opened.
Do not repeat my mistake. This is not a Marriott or even Motel 6. Just a man and wife operation with some hired help. They are really busy even between seasons. If you want things to be ready for you, send an advanced warning at least one or two days ahead.
From day two everything clicked into place. Harry and Lucrecia are wonderful hosts. Simple breakfast with a nice view on the third floor of the building is ready by 7AM. Good coffee, fresh juice on ice and plenty of fruit with the usual huevos fritos or scrambled + tostados with butter and cheese.
Laundry is quick and neat. Important for us, since my wife and I travel light.
Harry is also a licensed guide, he takes guests on tours practically every day and is very busy (see above). Nevertheless, he is responsive and takes care of difficult requests with ease and impressive efficiency. Ask him to stop the rain, - he will say no problem. Ask him to set up a snorkeling tour and the gear will be brought to you to your room to try it on. As soon as he got to know us a little better, his suggestions and recommendations were spot on. An hour long hike to Playa Baqueriza was a highlight of the trip, we had a beautiful beach with amazing wildlife practically for ourselves.
We also went with Harry on a guided tour to a beautiful Cerro Brujo Beach and then snorkeling to Kicker Rock. Harry showed us hammerheads, stingrays, tuna, sea turtles and boobies. Next time I will do scuba. Being 62 years of age, my best days are over and I can no longer dive deeper than 4-5 meters with just a mask.
Our whole trip to San Cristobal was basically an accident with no prior planning. But we are so happy to have visited this beautiful place and grateful to Harry and Lucrecia for making this stay comfortable and problem free. On the night before the departure I sent a message to Harry asking for an advice where to purchase Galapagos coffee. He brought two brands to choose from 15 minutes before the taxi came to bring us to the airport. Yes, I bought both, in case you wander.
Thank you, guys. I will definitely send my friends your way.
Elena and Arsen.

- Brian (8/5): - The front of the Eco Friendly is likely to produce a negative impression and the walled in courtyard is not very attractive. The walls and gate promote privacy, however, and the room I stayed in was clean and rather spacious.
The breakfast area is nice and the breakfast fare was both good and attractively presented. Unfortunately, the portions were small and the cooks do not take special orders. When I asked if I could have scrambled eggs, I was told to please sit down and that I would be served shortly. I was never asked what I wanted for breakfast during my three day stay.
Steady taxi traffic in front of the building provides easy access to every part of town and the owner is attentive.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
