Guest Reviews
- Khalid (10/5): - Room is compact but has everything you need for a comfortable night. Good parking and staff are super attentive and helpful. Good hot breakfast.
- John (8/5): - Great value for money.
- Shafiq (8/5): Comfy Stay w/ Occasionally Funky Smells - The were generally very kind and hilarious. It was a comfortable. My only complaint was a funky smell coming from the shower.
- Ray (6/5): - Needed digs for overnight work stay. Not welcoming hotel, staff
- Susan (10/5): Great stay, will stay again if in the area - Although there are no food options for the evening there is a snack and drinks machine in reception.
Some menus are available in reception but the hotel is happy for delivery of any type of food to be eaten in room and probably in reception on request if preferred
My room was basic but ample for a one night business stay and very clean. Bed very comfy and hotel is in a quiet area so little noise during the night
Staff very helpful and cheerful. Breakfast basic but as included in price good value and nicely presented.
Ample parking at the time of my visit
- Andrew (8/5): Cambridge Hotel, Bradford. - The staff were very friendly and willing to converse.
The room was compact but okay for our one night stay. There is not much sorage except for a few hangers on a short rail - no drawers or wardrobes. The shower was surprisingly powerful, which is good.
Breakfast was included, continental or a basic cooked, your choice.
Also free on site parking is available, another plus.
The nearest pub is about 15minutes walk, not a problem for us.
Overall it was very good for the price.
- Kevin (8/5): - Great value for money. The staff were great. Nice and friendly
- Tazim (8/5): Comfy stay - Our initial room was busy to maybe a generator or something soon as we got in but called reception who said to come back downstairs and they changed to another room which was quieter on the same floor
- Mubarik (10/5): - The place is serene with respectful staff
- Alison (8/5): Good value and comfortable - A comfy cheap room option for a short stopover. The bed was really comfy. Bedding and towels were very clean and felt new. Staff attitude was excellent, very helpful. The toilet room was very small and the fan in the shower didn't appear to do anything, but it was a very cheap bed and breakfast to break up a longer journey. Town was within walking distance via a retail complex. There is a huge Tesco across the road. I was worried breakfast would be carbs only after reading the other reviews, but they also had sausages, eggs and beans. Definitely good for a short stopover.
- Alex (2/5): - Noisy. Smelt of marijuana, sticky floor, strong smell of urine, air conditioning smelt of burning and dirty footprints on the wall. Would not recommend staying here, even though the price is cheap.
- Bakar (2/5): - Bed sheet dirty not good
- Jan (10/5): A cool night stay. - We booked an overnight stop at the Cambridge hotel, on Saturday's very hot day. The room was on the second floor, but there was a lift. The room had a fresh smell and though fairly small, it had all the usual facilities - with the addition of a fridge. We were struck by how really clean it was. The bedding was good quality, and the the air-conditioning unit over the door was the best surprise - perfect for a hot, humid night!
We had breakfast in the morning, with freshly made scrambled eggs and sausages, as well as cereals and toast. The coffee machine made a good coffee too.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and booked a taxi for us to go into the town centre in the evening.
There was no bar or restaurant at the hotel but a huge choice just a short, cheap taxi ride away.
So we had a relaxing stay at the hotel.
- Peter (8/5): - Value for money
- Rashmita (4/5): - The rooms were out dated, sink disgusting and cobwebs hanging from ceiling. Room allocated to me was at side of hotel at back where there was a generator just outside which kept going off every 1/2 hour. So loud didn’t sleep a wink. My first and last stay wouldn’t recommend.
- Colin (8/5): - Room was clean and tidy and reception staff particularly helpful and friendly
- David (10/5): - It was in a rough and ready area though the staff were friendly and obliging.
- Prosper (10/5): - My friend had a good stay
- suto (6/5): - Was given keys to the room where it was already occupied. Booked online for 2 adults but system said 1 person. Had to prove that the booking was for 2.
- tonye (10/5): - Excellent
- Verified traveler (2/5): It’s A Hostel! Not A Hotel! - Be Aware. This place is used a hostel for the homeless/desperate
When I eventually found it, the staff were lovely, but the other guests congregating outside made me wonder if it was a hostel. I didn’t feel safe. But I had no choice, so I checked in & went straight back out & over to Leeds.
If I’d taken my things back to Leeds I would have just headed straight home.
Came back about 23:30, I was honestly worried if my stuff would still be there when I returned.
It was, but again concerned for my safety. Shut myself in my room, put stuff up against the door & tried to sleep.
Had to charge my wheelchair batteries before I could go anywhere. So couldn’t leave until 14:00. Checked out a day early, telling them I wouldn’t be back.
As I was waiting outside for a taxi, there were people discussing using the place as an address for benefits, etc. Hotels don’t normally allow that, from working in housing myself I know it was definitely being used as a hostel.
Couldn’t get a taxi so headed into Bradford. I was 5 hours earlier than I needed to for the event because I didn’t want to stay there any longer.
I understand they need to make money, especially as it’s not in the best location. But at least tell people what it’s used for & can make their own decision to stay or not.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Workers amazing bed had dirt all over it/bedbugs - They was dirt all over the bedding the room smelt like sewage and they had bed bugs
- Diane (10/5): Hotel welcoming with excellent service. - Hotel and room clean. Needed to raise issue regarding faulty drain. Went out for the day. On return to hotel, a room move had been organised and included our luggage and belongings moved to new room. Which was unexpected and really appreciated. Staff couldn't not have been more helpful and obliging. Would certainly recommend.
- Aziz (10/5): - We had a great time staying there very friendly staff
- Dr R J (10/5): Nice stay - Rooms are small but you can see that on the photos. Staff are friendly and helpful.
- Dr R J (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - Pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews on here.
The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. This hotel is a former Ibis Basic.
Ample free parking and a reasonable free breakfast.
Good choice of TV channels.
There are some negatives but you accept those as the hotel is priced for a certain market.
The photos on the website are accurate so you can see what to expect
- Mary (8/5): - Spotless. Rooms very compact. Suit one night only stayers. No draws. Shower ladies take a shower cap. We stayed on the front and it was very noisy with very busy road/highway. If we had a room on the other side would have been better . Nice Breakfast thrown in for total price 59£. Overall l would still recommend it. Lovely staff.
- DAVID (8/5): - Very clean and tidy. Walking distance to the city centre. Nice breakfast. On site free parking . Freindly staff.
- Edwin (6/5): Reasonable! - The stay was acceptable but unfortunately the standards were not quite as advertised.
- Leigh (2/5): Horrible dirty - The place was so dirty hairs all over the bed it was like being in a prison cell no joke it was horrible the walls we’re horrible dirt everywhere toilet so small your sink is ring next to your bed dirty
- Kevin (4/5): No sleep - It took 3 attempts to get the correct wifi password from reception.
Then I was kept awake all night by some for of fan or pump under my window that started at 10.30pm and switch off at 6.30am.
I will be requesting a full refund
- Maryam (2/5): - Very angry staff. Tried to make us pay £100 deposit after booking
- Elaine (2/5): I want my money back - Rooms were unsuitable, unclean. Was made to hoover myself and told the next day that I had offered. They refused to refund the remaining two nights when we couldn't stay another night. Awful smells of someone smoking in the corridor. I couldnt sleep in the first night. Toilet not working in double room and the window was wide open when we got to the room. Obviously to counter smells from the non flushing toilet or smoking .. what a nightmare. Not suitable for families
- Mark (8/5): - Considering this is a budget hotel it is excellent and great value for money. Very clean, pleasant staff and a decent breakfast that includes a small but very nice hot offering... amd great coffee. Bed is very comfortable...all I would suggest is replace that stool with a suitable chair. Great job otherwise.
- Inayat (4/5): - Not good clean room
- Secret (6/5): - Its close to shops quite place bed was so cozy the pillows were very soft loved the comfort
- Verified traveler (2/5): No idea how this hotel has 4 star reviews! - The room was disgusting! We got to our room and as I looked in the shower I could see a hair so I got a towel and pulled the plug…. Was covered in black mould and other peoples hair!
There was some sort of body hair next to the bed and in the window seal. We went straight down to reception and they said they’d go have a look, they offered us a new room but we said no!
- Justin (10/5): - Good communication
- Paul (8/5): A very pleasant and peaceful stay - On arrival the gentleman on reception was friendly and very helpful. My room was clean and fine for my needs. It was a little cool on arrival but I was soon able to alter the air conditioning to suit, which ran quietly. A welcome addition was a fridge which also was quiet in operation.
I would have awarded 5 stars but for the breakfast which was very basic i.e. cereal, toast, croissants and fruit but good enough for a sound start to the day. I can recommend this hotel and will stay there again.
- Oluwasegun (10/5): - Lovely place
- Richard (10/5): - Wet well equipped and a very comfortable bed
- nigel (2/5): - There was snot on wall in room
horrendrous road noise ALL NIGHT NONE STOP
Right next to main road little sleep had
- Moleen (6/5): - Na
- Ahsan (2/5): - Had very bad experience i was sleeping early morning someone was using drill machine and disturbed my sleep.
- Anna (6/5): - Nuce and clean
- Keith (6/5): - Room was good, but i felt cold at times and the air conditioning controls a bit confusing so I switched it off, The contionetal breakfast not great they had no marmalade and was limited in the choice, most of items supplied to customer were from Aldi
- Renata (2/5): - Terrible worse hotel I was in very dirty
- babu (2/5): - They refused to refund me even tho i cancelled it off on time
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing - I hated breakfast because there was no Nutella and it Looked nothing like the pictures on line. It was so small.
-Sienna age 9
- David (10/5): Lovely hotel - Amazing 👏 time
- Ruth (10/5): Very good hotel - The bed was comfy and the tv had Netflix which was good! Tea provided in the room. Bit noisy. Shower really good.
- Hadia (8/5): - Good
- muhammad (10/5): - Nice stay.
- Rizwan (10/5): - Ideal location in central Bradford, convenient for short stays at affordable prices.
- Neil (6/5): - Pleasant efficient staff however hotel was very noisy due to the busy road
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bag pv shyt - Filthy place full ov shyt
- Ahmed (6/5): Good stay with central location - Stay was good, rooms were small and not enough room for luggage, upgradation required to make it more comfortable
But for the price it was ok.
- James (10/5): - Great location, clean well equipped rooms. Polite and friendly staff. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
- Kevin (6/5): - You could do alot with that place so i suggest you do i could make that 5 star accommodation without a problem and make a full kitchen and even chill out places for the summer .you need to look what you have there and stop making it like a prostitutes paradise and make something of it if you need help i can do that for you
- Mohammed (2/5): - If you desperate for a room then it's better than sleeping in your car however there are other hotels that are cleaner and better shower facility overall
- Syed (8/5): - Overall a nice place to stay. Breakfast facility should improve.
