Guest Reviews
- Pete (10/5): - Really nice clean modern room with a handy kitchenette we had the balcony so nice to look towards mountains and sea. Quiet due to low visitors due to COVID-19.
- Fred (10/5): - Lux Apart is a real find for staying near City Center Reykjavik. We made good use of the kitchenette for cooking small meals and preparing bag lunches for our daily outings. The location is great, and the room itself spacious, modern, and well maintained. Lilja, the manager of the apartments, went out of her way to see that we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome.
- John (10/5): Great place outside the main city. - It was a great place to stay, very clean, very modern, we had a nice patio with a view of the ocean. The café they recommended across the street was great. The bed was comfy, it had a microwave, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and private bath. I'd definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable apartment in nice location - The apartment was spacious and very well kept. The service was excellent and the staff super friendly. A parking space was provided and the Kopavogur area is easy to reach by car. The apartment is right next door to local amenities (bakery, supermarket, ice cream parlour, fast food).
- Monica (8/5): Lux can be considered if u are driving. - LUX though there’s no reception service, the response through email is quick with details. In general the room condition is good for short stay. The only concern is - there’s no elevator to the above ground levels. Have to walk up the stairs, makes it difficult to bring the luggage up and down. Location is close to the city centre by driving.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good stay at Lux Apart with an attentive and available property manager
- Naperville (10/5): - Quiet, comfortable and safe. Great choice for the trip. Quick and clear communications with property’s manager Lila. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Need a car to get into city but there is a grocery store and restaurants on next road. Very nice, updated room. Small, if you are actually looking for an "apartment" as it is more like a hotel room with a refrigerator (larger than expected), cooking utensils and microwave. Quiet area and was relaxing for the 5 days I as there. Easy check-in / out with access codes. Very friendly and responsive manager.
- Stuart (10/5): - The property was in a very clean and welcoming condition when we arrived and the lady at the contact desk was very helpful throughout our stay. The location is perfect as it is not in the main city but is only a 5-10 minute drive away. There’s plenty of shops nearby to get food for your stay and plenty of restaurants too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We were very impressed with the apartment. The owner was so friendly and helpful. We would definitely be recommending to family and friends.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was not a luxury accommodation but it had everything we needed and easy parking. Lilja was awesome and our room was ready earlier than the check in time! I liked the location but you need a car
- Ross (10/5): Great, comfortable self-catering accommodation - Great, comfortable self-catering accommodation just a 10 minute drive from Reykjavic. Really clean and modern with good facilities. We never met the owner/manager as there’s no reception but they were helpful via email. Location is great if you have a car (not so much otherwise). It’s a few km from Reykjavík proper
- gvcordova (10/5): - Great location. Clean. Would defitely stay here again when we come back and vusit Iceland.
- Carl (10/5): - Our stay at the Lux Apart was absolutely fine - everything was super clean and well-appointed, the beds were quite comfortable and Lilja was just terrific - she immediately took care of getting the Wifi back online and even graciously offered us champagne glasses to toast the New Year in style :-) The glassed-in balcony provided a perfect front row view of the spectacular New Year's fireworks. Would definitely recommend this property as a great place to stay while visiting Iceland. Takk!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cozy place, near reykjavik. Assesible to food and Bonus. clean room, nice design. There’s microwave and lost of storage space.
- Raymond (10/5): Worth the visit - What a cute place to stay that is managed by the most caring people possible. We were so lucky to have chosen this location. You get a mini kitchen area, a glassed in balcony, great amenities, and easy access to get everywhere. Would stay here again.
- winamp (10/5): - chic and trendy. the manager helped me with more than just my accomodation to the property. Lilia was ready to make sure your stay is awesome.
- Nathan (10/5): - Great apartment and very helpful owner (Lilja)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Brilliant space, comfortable and compact, would recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is clean and 15 mins drive to downtown. The property is located in a good area , has restaurant and coffee location near by .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Make sure you have a car and google map service - Being located in residential area with main entrance at a quiet street and an inconspicuous signboard, it is suitable for traveller with a car and google map service. Built in car GPS may not find the right location. Despite these, the room is spacious, clean and comfy (for 2 persons). The kitchenette is only suitable for preparing something light such as breakfast. There are a few eating places nearby and of course you can drive out for dinner. Overall, a pleasant place to stay.
- Chappy (10/5): - Wonderful modern and clean. Excellent location. Highly recommended!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and specious
- William (10/5): Lux Apart highly recommended - Lux Apart met all our expectations. Plenty of space, comfortable bed, kitchenette with basic utensils microwave and fridge. A short drive to downtown and a short walk to a great bakery!
- Kathy (10/5): - Space was nicely furnished. Very comfortable beds, kitchen well equipped. Extra towels available if requested. Owner is very accommodating and on premises during the weekdays. Dominoes pizza is on the corner, frozen yogurt store and grocery within walking distance. No coffee or bakery nearby.
- Julia (10/5): - Clean, modern, well located and comfortable. Would stay again.
- Patty (10/5): - Very unique qnd practical. Loved all the lighting! I will stay there again. Close to the city and yet away from all the business.
- Tami (10/5): - Nice property. Lilja, the property manager, is very good. Very helpful. Enjoyed enclosed patio.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was effortless and in a great location.
- Brad (10/5): Great place for extended stay. - Accommodations were excellent and met every need. We especially liked the modern decor and facilities. We could put the kitchen to good use by cooking breakfast and dinner almost every day. Friendly management was very responsive. We liked the location by grocery stores and bus stops so we could get to Reykjavik easily. We would go their again any time.
- Kristine (6/5): - Overall it is Ok. The bathroom drain has some problems but was fixed in the second day. The kitchen is kind of small. The room size is good for two but kind of small for a family of three.
- Arkadiy (10/5): - Great Studio appartment! Located 10 min from Reykjavik center by city bus, but at much cheaper price. The General Manager Lilja is The Best! Excellent service, very attentive! 5 Stars!
- Ashleah (10/5): - Great place, exactly as pictured, spacious enough for what we needed. Cafe right near us that was great before heading out for the day!!!
- Marisol (8/5): Nice place but far from town centre - The property and cleanliness was excellent but it's far from the town centre. There was no much info about how to get public transport/ buses and buses times. Iceland, Reykjavik it's a beautiful country with unique beautiful natural beauty, our overall experience is excellent and I hope to come back! We love it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable and centrally located. Less than 10 min drive from downtown. Lilja was an amazing host. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Reykjavik
- Jeff (10/5): Perfection! - A well equipped apartment with everything you need. Great views, very nice enclosed balcony and excellent location. The GM, Lilja, was SO helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean - Sofa bed = mattress on the floor. You need a car. Limited food choices within walking distance. Clean.
- Janet (10/5): Hospitality like no other - We were greeted by Lilja who welcomed us and was so helpful in all our needs, this lovely spotless apart is off the busy path of the city and although one would need a car to get to places it is a short walk to the bus station where the buses will take you into the city or the shopping centre, we also walked a lot. the spacious delux unit has an oversize balcony and views of downtown and the mountains
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful & helpful management. Clean & comfortable facilities. Centrally located.
- Nasrin (8/5): Great location ,good stay for family - Overall it was a good place to stay. walking distance to few restaurants, grocery store. parking and entrance to apartment is not impressive but inside the room is nice. great view from balcony . a bit tight if you are traveling with kids. but overall it was a good stay for us (family of 4)
- Carolyn (10/5): Very nice stay - Kind, helpful staff. Nice, comfortable place, with a useful kitchenette. 10-minute walk to bus station into downtown. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Small apartment good for a short stay in Reykjavik - The apartment was clean. There was a microwave, but no stove or pots and pans. So, we could not prepare a hot meal.
Access to the main door to the hallway and to the actual apartment was controlled by an access code.
Parking space on the apartment property was limited. On the second day, there was no space for our Toyota Rav4. We were forced to park on the adjacent property. I emailed the apartment managers to confirm if my car would be okay in the adjacent property. They replied fairly quickly to let me know that my car would be fine there.
- Gary (10/5): 5-plus - Modern, clean apartment, conveniently close to a great bakery and the 40 north-south route. Great staff interaction via email. Would definitely stay here again.
- Senthilbawan (10/5): - It was amazing
- Bruce (10/5): Sleek modern accommodation. - The room was very comfortable with ample space for clothes, and a nice bathroom with a great shower.
The design is very modern and sleek. The only downsides are there is 1 flight of stairs to the room, and it is not in a downtown walking area. The parking was very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fun stay, great location! - I just came back from my trip to Iceland. It was a fun trip. The location of the property was very convenient, just right outside Reykjavik. It is a few exits away and maybe about 3 kms. For someone who plans to rent a car, it would work well. They have free parking. The place was clean and quiet. They replenished towels, kitchen supplies (coffee pods, creamers, sugars) and cleaned the rooms every other day. They also have laundry facilities if needed, for those staying longer and would like to pack light. The staff were also extremely responsive to questions and accommodating to guest requests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): clean modern cute place - perfect little studio, with warm blankets and comfy bed. loved everything about it, have no complaints!
- Tracy (10/5): Fantastic - Wonderful apartment! Well equipped and super clean! Will be coming back!
- Kathy (10/5): Clean and simple - The hotel room was small, but it was very clean and well organized. They maximized the use of the space as there were hidden storage compartments throughout. The staff was very helpful!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic apartment, perfect for two. Close to amenities. Excellent base for touring around South East Iceland.
- Michael (10/5): Very clean and Modern - Keep it short but sweet
Very impressive, very clean and would highly recommend
- beth (10/5): Lux apartments - Lovrly rooms. Good location. Staff were amazingly helpful. Couldnt do enough for you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for a short break - Business trip, short stay. Was great for what I needed: easy access, comfort, selection of restaurants and supermarket close by... Perfect. If you’re looking to use this as your base for your stay in Reykjavík then recommend hiring a car.
- Rick (10/5): Exactly as advertised! - The hotel was convenient to Reykjavik and other points of interest. It was very quiet and private, with keyless access and plenty of parking.
The room had a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, sink and even dish soap.
The bathroom featured a wonderful stand-up shower.
Overall, a very pleasant home base for our trip to Iceland.
- ST (10/5): Good stay 10min drive from the city! - The entrance is at the back and a little hard to find at night, but the host gave us directions on how to get there. There's a plaza nearby, so if you don't want to drive out, there's food and Bonus 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The drive to the city is only 10min. The room is clean and comfortable! We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy with Lux Apart.
- clare (10/5): Excellent little apartment with all your needs - Fantastic stay, beautiful clean and warm apartment , 10 minute bus ride to town. Busses very frequent. Local supermarket & small parade of shops inc cafe and restaurants are couple minutes walk away. we loved it here.
- Victoria (10/5): Perfect place 5 min from Reykjavík - Accomodations were gorgeous and perfect. Location was great just outside of city center. Walking distance to bakery and restaurants. You need a car though because 5 min drive to city center. Manager Lilja is awesome, welcoming and friendly. Oversized balcony with great view.
- P (10/5): Perfect Apartment Hotel! - Lilja is a lovely manager and the place was perfect for my needs. I loved the modern and clever design, there was a lot of thought put into the amenities and stocking of the kitchen. Great communication from the staff and they were very accommodating about my last-minute request to purchase early check-in. Quiet area, ample parking and nearby cafe and shops. Minutes from the center city. Very pleased with my experience!
- giles (10/5): Nice apartments. Loved our stay - Slightly out of town but in a great location if you have a car. Lovely rooms with everything you need. Would happily stay here again.
- Ian (10/5): Not central but still amazing - Fantastic stay, great facilities and the access procedures made checking in and out not existent which was a couple less things to deal with. It’s not really central and we had to walk to a nearby hotel to get pick ups (ten min walk) and shops were close by as well as a bus service that ran frequently to Reykjavík.
The options for the beds were two singles or a king and I was happy with the singles being pushed together but having two single quilts on a king size bed made it a bit awkward sleeping with my girlfriend but that’s the only thing that wasn’t perfect about our stay.
- Christine (10/5): Nice studio apt hotel close to everything - Great experience and affordable. Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip. Host/owner was very gracious and even greeted us with Icelandic chocolates and New Year’s champagne. Very helpful in regards to where to go and when as we were there during a holiday period. Loved it all in all
- rachael (10/5): Helpful and friendly manager!! - Wonderful staff, so helpful!! She made us table reservations, stored our luggage and left us chocolates. The room was kept spotless!!
Couldn't ask anymore from th facilities, amazing shower, comfy bed, hair dryer, coffee machine, English Channel tv, parking, towels.... I could go on!!!
Ideal location for us with a car, couldn't recommend enough
- Carol (10/5): Nice, modern, clean self contained apts 10min fr R - Great experience from beginning to end. We were celebrating my husband's birthday as well as our anniversary. Communication with the hotel was great in terms of procedure for check in. They had left some goodies for our celebration which was a great touch. The apartments were large and they contained everything you needed. No stove, but a fridge and microwave as well as dishes, cutlery, etc to make you stay comfortable. I also asked if it was possible to get another pillow after the first night, and the response was "of course" with no hesitation. We also woke up late on New Years Day (after a late NYE) and I had e-mailed asking if it we could have a late check-out. They didn't get back to us until the late afternoon, but were told that they had actually blocked off all arrivals on New Years Day (so we could check out anytime) because they expected everyone to be checking out late! I have never encountered such thoughtful service paired with a beautiful place to stay in all my years of travel. Will definitely stay here again if I am back in Reykjavik.
- belzeratuz (10/5): Great hotel with great location - The hotel was very comfortable, with a very modern look and what is more important it was clean. The location was ideal close to everything end even had a bajery and supermarket at walking distance.
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect little apartment just outside city - Don't be fooled by the outside appearence, perfect little apartment with great view from the balcony over the mountains.
Staff are lovely and helpful, and although none on sight, very easy to contact.
Clean, comfortable and warm room with smart tv. Great bathroom facilities. Small kitchenette area but perfect with everything you need for a short stay.
Supermarket a few minutes walk away as well as plenty of restaurants. Main city just an easy 10 minute drive away.
Would 100% stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Apartment Hotel - Great location, not far from downtown. Clean, new inside. Close to grocery stores and couple restaurants / stores, including nice coffee shop. Owner are friendly & helpful. Easy access to Hwy. As someone mentioned, parking could be an issued, but we didn't have problem during our stay. Will stay again in the future.
- Alison (10/5): Great Apartment - Well, equipped, very comfortable and such a lovely owner who was easy to contact
- Edwin (10/5): Best Place to Stay in Iceland - Great location for the best price. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Super friendly manager that will respond quickly to all your queries. Well recommended hotel especially for first timers in Iceland.
- Rob (10/5): Nice apartment/hotel in South Reykjavik - Easy check in, very fast, clean room. Comfortable and had the amenities we needed. Close to shops and dining as well as a short drive to the mall. Bed was only OK, but on standard for the vast majority of beds in Iceland.
- Lijuan (10/5): Great location, clean! - Great location, clean!
- Brendan (10/5): Lux Apart - The studio style room was very clean. The staff was very quick to respond to any concern. They were very accommodating when my wife and I needed to check in early.
The building is close to several restaurants, stores and bus routes.
I would absolutely recommend this establishment for anyone looking for a pleasant and cheap stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Iceland - Hotel Lux is a clean and tidy place to stay.House keeping is done on a regular basis. Canada
- Alex (10/5): Fantastic comfy apartment! - We loved staying here. It had everything you needed in an apartment! (Iron, microwave, all cutlery) Our room was cleaned, the cleaner is brilliant and even washed up our plates. These rooms don't look much on the outside, but beautiful room inside. Bathroom is spacious and nicley decorated. It is near two cheap food shops, some restaurants and a cafe. Would recommend a car (car park is free) however is a few minutes walk from bus stops. 15min drive to the main harbour.
- Diana (10/5): Great location and staff! - This was the perfect location to venture on to the ring road. Easy access to downtown without the high costs of staying downtown. Very easy to go North or South on the ring road and easy drive to airport. There is a bakery/coffee house on the next block, Dominos pizza and a yogurt shop in the same area. The host was excellent, accommodating, spoke excellent english and easily accessible for questions. The rooms were new, comfortable and well maintained. The Laundry facility was accessible and a nice perk of the apts. I would stay again and will recommend to my friends.
- Bodo (8/5): Everything was o.k. but the small fruit flies... - Everything was like expected. Nice view from the balcony.
The room was furnished like IKEA style.
The bathroom was perfect also for four persons.
That why I like to give 4 four or five points but...
From the beginning we had to fight against the small flies.
We tried glasses with vinegar and dish soap.
Nothing helped.
The "room service" didn't notice this.
We got only two times fresh towels during the five days.
- Art (10/5): Great room for a stay in Reykjavik - The room was clean, well appointed, and quiet. We stayed 5 nights, 4 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great place to come back to after a long day of exploring the country.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place. Very good location. Clean and well equip apartment.
- Michael (10/5): Awesome - 4.5 - Great place to stay and folks in charge were super helpful. Super clean and relatively spacious rooms. Only neutral comment here is that you're 1-1.5 miles from anything solid to eat or nighttime activities, so bring a car or be ready to unwind from the days activities in solitude.
- Jim (10/5): - Very clean, looks brand new inside. Close to highways. Only problem was when coming back late at night was parking. It would be a good idea to have assigned parking spaces for each unit
- Suzanne (8/5): Nice interior, a drive from downtown. - Overall very nice and comfortable. The only detractors: 1) I thought it had a stove top, so bought food that I hen couldn't use, 2) the porch is a lovely space, but in need of paint, and 3) it is a drive to downtown Reykevik.
- Yves (10/5): - Just 3.5km from downtown Reykjavik. Clean, nice covered balcony.
- colleen (8/5): Great if have a car and a child - Small apartment but very clean and modern -everything we needed. A bit outside the city but if you're driving then it's perfect.
- Vardan (8/5): Nice small hotel close to Reykjavik - We rented two apartment rooms for four people, and, actually, we enjoyed our stay in Kopavogur. The apartments were close to two grocery stores and a couple of restaurants. We had very nice communications with the staff. They do light housekeeping every other day, changing towels etc. Rooms don't have A/C, I guess you don't need them with Iceland's weather. Also, bathrooms don't have fans. Other than that everything was great.
- Jim (10/5): Nice hotel for small family stay - This place was very convenient for our visit to Reykjavik. It was comfortable for our family of 4. Location was good with pizza, frozen yogurt and other restaurants on the street level below. Easy drive from here to the centre of Reykjavik or places further out.
- Lynn (10/5): Nice place conveniently located - The room was very clean and well supplied. Perfect for our two nights. We wish we would have decided to stay here longer! Thank you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, modern, comfortable and close to the city! Great parking with a grocery store down the street
- Bill (10/5): Nice place - You need a car to stay here. My only problems we're figuring out the lights and that the heat cannot be set quite as low as I would like. However you can open a window. It is small so more than two people would be difficult. It is an apartment with no onsite staff. We never saw anyone from the company but the room was cleaned every day. There are two sets of 4 apartments. Each 4 sharing a door/hallway. It is an easy walk to several restaurants and a grocery. It is a10 minute drive to the heart of the small downtown area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Outside of the city - definitely would need a car, an easy 10 minute drive
- Ann (10/5): Clean studio convenient to Reykjavik - Room was exceptionally clean and staff were very helpful. Contacted via email twice and received a prompt response each time. Would definitely stay at Lux Apart again.
- Jim (10/5): Modern apartment in Reykjavik - This is an excellent modern apartment close to central Reykjavik. Best to have a car as its about 20 minutes drive.
- Adrian (10/5): Very clean and it has all you need for your stay - We spent two nights at Lux Apart and we found it excellent for what we needed.
- Katie (10/5): Great apartment close to the city - Bottom line: We would definitely stay here again. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the apartment was pristine, comfortable and conveniently located only 10 minutes outside of Reykjavik. The glassed in balcony was great for sipping my coffee in the morning and fun when it was raining out. All in all, great experience.
- kevin (10/5): Amazing service! - Super clean, super modern space. Lilja is amazing! Answered all my questions and was so attentive and courteous. 10 minute drive to downtown Reykjavik. Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Really nice hotel! - Very nice hotel in Iceland. Lilja really took good care of us and was very helpful as well. It was close to the highway as well.
- Dale (8/5): once I found it, a nice stay - there needs to be a sign out at the street, it was hard figuring out exactly where this was, but the room was quite and merry or needs.
- Grace (10/5): Enjoy the view - We stayed at this place days after the summer solstice, so pretty much mean it's alway bright outside. We go the room with the Balcony, which give us an amazing view of ocean and mountain. The passcode for the place were emailed couple days before the stay, which saved the hassle of checking in. We had a baby under the age of one, the crib were set up before we arrived. Overall we had a very relaxing experience for the stay.
- Margaret (8/5): Clean - It was clean. The doors were a bit tricky for me but my son quickly figured them out. I was hoping for a room like the one in the picture as I wanted a bit of space between us but we made it work. It was rather remote but we found the buses and hiked to them to go places. The CityPass for 24 hrs was wonderful.
- Don (8/5): Nice, clean hotel. Easy access. - A short distance to downtown. Small eateries nearby but more food options require a drive or bus ride
- Jennifer (10/5): Awesome hotel! - Great place, very clean and updated. It was quiet and the curtains blocked out the sunlight well since we went in May and there isn't as much darkness. There's a lovely cafe right near it that we went to every morning. Bed was firm but comfortable. There's a fridge with an ice tray that we used to fill up our water bottle before we went on our journey for the day, the water in Iceland is amazingly clean!
- Robert W (6/5): - The apartment was fine, but not close to much of anything. I thought the unit would have a land line, but it didn't, so I had to buy a sim card for Iceland as we were constantly calling taxies and tour companies.
