Guest Reviews
- Anwar (6/5): - Rooms are small and basic but overall does the job for somewhere to stay.
- Swetlana (6/5): It is okay, if you are staying for once night - We arrived later in the afternoon and were very tired from a long car drive. Checking in was easy enough and the young man at the reception was friendly.
The bunk bed was not made, which is not ideal if you are tired and and just want to crash. The bunk bed itself has not been properly cleaned in a while, as there were tissues stuffed in the corners, the mattress protector had stains and the frame hasn't seen a cloth in a while and the ladder could do with a few screws tightening.
The room had a weird smell and we had to open the window first thing we stepped in, but that didn't last long, as somebody was smoking pot nearby
We have also been charged for parking, even though it says on their website it is free, which I only noticed once we left.
I am aware it is a budget hotel and I have stayed in many different ones in the past, but I was really not impressed with this one.
We only stayed for a night, that's why I gave the hotel 3 stars and it was okay for what we needed it.
- Graham (10/5): - very good and very helpful
- Michele (10/5): - I had an excellent experience here. I checked in during the early hours, and the porter was already waiting—very friendly and even offered me tea or coffee on arrival. The room was spotless, compact, and perfect for a one-night stay, with a lovely bath towel provided. There was no hairdryer in the room, but otherwise everything was just right.
Parking usually comes with a charge, but it wasn’t working during my visit, which was a bonus. Despite being located at a service area, it was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was buffet-style with plenty of choice, and the Full English was piping hot.
I would definitely stay again.
- Hakan (10/5): - After been letdown by holiday inn last minute these guys came to the rescue the lads were so happy to help and they managed to save my wedding day thank you so much I will return when in Leicster
- wayne (10/5): - My one night stay went very smoothly. The staff were affable and attentive over help with the wifi and security. I missed not having a drink making facility in the room or a waste bin but appreciated the generous drinks freely available in the dining area. It proved a good, all round choice.
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent! - Excellent service from start to finish. Room was really clean and had all the amenities needed. Fantastic stat, would stay again!
- Sally (4/5): - Really not happy with my stay. I was given an accessible room and the bathroom floor was dirty. I thought the floor was stained but realised after getting out of the shower it was actually dirt as I stood on a towel afterwards with wet feet and the towel was dirty. Not acceptable. There was also a lot of dust. In the morning when I had a shower the power went off so I was stood in pitch black in the bathroom (good job I am able-bodied as it wasn’t easy getting out of the bathroom). I had shampoo in my hair and had to walk across the room to open blinds so I had some light and leave the bathroom door open. I was in the ground floor so not ideal walking around naked to get some light. I ended up being late for a work meeting because my shower took twice as long as the shower turned into a drizzle. The hotel is convenient for work but I would rather travel further and pay more because it was an unpleasant experience. Always thought Ibis were ok but not this one
- Terrance Kudakwashe (8/5): - The property was good ideal for couples
- Kerry (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast average. Not liking the paper cups for tea.
- Rick (8/5): - Great chips in restaurant menu!!
- Hina (6/5): - The room was nice and clean, bed was comfortable. Staff were welcoming and polite. Disappointed with breakfast 😕 they didn't have vegetarian breakfast. We wanted vegetarian sausages they didn't have.
- Winnie (6/5): Okay stay for one night - No kettle or bottled water provided in bedroom although tea and coffee were provided for free in the reception area - it was still rather inconvenient. Shower floor cracked and I had to ask for a room change, rather than offered for a swap. I had been asked to ‘be mindful of not making the crack worse’ by the front house staff when pointed the crack out! A good job that I had spotted the crack BEFORE I took my shower, or else I would have been made liable for the pre-existing damage.
- Kilali (6/5): - Good value for money.
Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful
- JOHN (10/5): - Hotel was clean and rooms compact. Staff friendly and helpful.
- Jordan (8/5): - Cool room
- sandra (10/5): - Fresh , clean , good value for a quick overnight stop
- Ben (6/5): - The service from all the people working in the hotel was great we can’t fault them especially as we were at a festival was nice to help welcoming people at the desk. The hotel overall was fine but the room had a few issues I was just too tired to report. The shower was leaking from the head and door meaning it went everywhere each time you used it. The ac was the functioning for cooling the room but made a constant clicking noise and loud banging noise every few minutes making it very hard to sleep. This wasn’t a normal noise as the unit was working fine just very noisy. Managed to get some sleep on night three and the bed was comfortable.
- paul (4/5): Disappointing - Clean hotel and staff friendly.
£10 charge for parking wasnt highlighted on website
All rooms had major noise issues with air conditioning (even when off). Moved rooms but sound of running water all night
- Samuel (10/5): - Great
- Andrea (8/5): - Clean basic hotel in a handy location
- Zoe (4/5): Bad night's sleep and dirty! - The staff were very friendly on arrival. The room was very small. The air conditioning unit kept on clicking all night, so we didn't get much sleep. Got up during the night and looked at the bedsheets and were dirty and there was also hair that was not ours. At approximately 4-4am my partner went downstairs to complain, however he was told thsy he should have relorted the issues earleir. Nevertheless, when we arrived we were tired, so we ate in the restaurant and didnt go to the room until aboit 11:30pm, therfore we didnt report the issues roght away as we thought it would be too late, and our daughter went to bed straight away and got settled.
- Graeme (10/5): - All good clean and friendly
- John (10/5): - Nice little couple of nights. The bed is comfortable enough, the Air Conditioner was working fine. There is tea and coffee as much as you want but it is downstairs in the lobby. The only downside was the toilet was a little too cramped but all in all a nice place to stay. Have to mention the reception staff. The lady that welcomed me was very friendly and helpful and had a good sense of humour as we had a little joke.
- Liz (8/5): - The stay was comfortable and very helpful staff. I enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. Nice and fresh.
- Mark (10/5): - Everything
- Verified traveler (4/5): Parking charges! - The hotel charges for car park use - very disappointing and money grabbing.
- Michelle (8/5): - Hotel is lovely and clean and staff very helpful- only downside is the rooms are very small !
- Jess (10/5): - It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The room was small but for a night it was fine.
- Verified traveler (6/5): More clarity - Overall for a one night stay it was more than adequate. The room was very clean as was the bedding, and the amenities fine and functioning ie shower, water, toilet, adequate rolls and shower gel/soap. Negatives ? No tea/coffee making facility. One was required to go dining/bar area (in my case one floor down) to use the machine. My biggest gripe ! The fact I had to pay an overnight parking charge (not a lot, £3 ) which was not very clear when booking. It was the principle of paying what was presented in rather ambiguous wording.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was great that there were EV chargers on site.
- Richard (6/5): - Basic hotel
- Peter (6/5): Ibis Budget Birstall Leicester - Not cheap and then had to pay for overnight parking which should have been made clear at time of booking. I told the receptionist who said “if you’re not happy, go elsewhere”which I felt was not a great response!! Not the cost but…. !
Room was tiny like being in a Wendy House with a bunk bed above our double bed. Hit our heads at least 3 times each. Room was clean and bathroom also. Good shower
- Natwarlal (8/5): - No hand towel given. Requested but they don’t have it.
Good hotel but very basic. Clean hotel .
Very tight walking in room as there is small space between the double bed and room wall.
- Ian (10/5): - Could do with coffee making facilities and a bin to put any rubbish in, but apart from thta superb
- Michael (6/5): - Very basic and small room, but really clean. Only 1 towel per-person, so no hand towels…
Smallish TV, but can plug stuff into the HDMI which was good.
Just off the motorway, so nothing really around. Garage next door with a KFC.
Breakfast was basic but fine, don’t expect fine dining but it was filling enough.
Staff were friendly and helpful..
- Stephen (6/5): - Compact room with a head-bumping bunk above the bed. Maybe a bit of padding wouldn’t go amiss.
- S (8/5): Convenient, clean and friendly staff - This was a really convenient place to stay for one night while visiting an old friend. The staff were lovely, so helpful and friendly. The rooms are quite compact but incredibly clean with everything you need. The only thing I really missed was tea/coffee facilities within the room, but it was all free down in the lobby.
- Samuel (10/5): Good service - It was good experience the staff very helpful my room radiator was off I just made a phone call within 2 mins she came to turn it on excellent job, hopefully will be back soon.
- Esther (8/5): - Good
- kiran (8/5): Ibis budget Leicester - Property was ok, but they were in the process of changing thier mattresses, which caused a lot of smell in the room
- Gary (10/5): - All of the staff were really friendly and welcoming, the reception area and rooms were well presented and clean. We also had a drink at the bar in the evening which was an unexpected bonus as we hadn’t realised there was one when we booked.
- Lucie E (10/5): Great budget hotel - The reception staff were very friendly and could do enough for us during our stay.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable.
Recommended as a great budget hotel.
- Vikash (10/5): - Front desk staff where excellent and it was nice and quite
- Abdelouaed (10/5): - Staff members very friendly
- Trev (10/5): - Very pleasant staff, good facilities and plenty of parking at a very cheap rate
- Michael (10/5): Agnes is Brilliant. - Excellent hotel, very clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful. Best of all though was the service from Agnes. Polite, friendly and very helpful sorting a problem out for me. A real asset to the hotel. Every hotel should have an Agnes!
- aditya (8/5): - Nice location and value for money
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable room - Hotel room was clean and comfortable. When we got to the room it had only been made up for 1 person despite being booked for 2. The man who checked us in was not particularly helpful. We asked why they needed a card number at check in, as if they put a hold on the card, this would influence which card we gave them, and his response was we just need a card! Also to note, if you book your stay directly via Ibis you don't have to pay for parking, but via Hotels there was a charge.
- Ian (4/5): - The reception on arrival was perfect and the staff were very polite and helpful. Disappointed to have to pay for overnight parking outside the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights but the room was not cleaned. Only 1 towel in the room (large bath towel) which wasn't changed over the 2 days we stayed.
- Denise (8/5): I night stay - Accommodation satisfactory clean, staff efficient . Room as expected if a little small but ok for a one night stay
- Andy (6/5): - 2nd time staying here
Good size carpark which is £3 pound to park
Quick check in all information given
A lift to all floors
Room ok size
Shower room a bit small
No hand towel
Bed comfy enough
Shower hot and powerful
WiFi excellent
Not much close by .
- kamran (8/5): - I really enjoyed my stay neat clean only draw back no tea coffee pot in room not enough to hang clothes rest i will definetly stay again
- gaetano (8/5): - Unfortunately no coffee making facilities in the room but could get a cuppa from front reception.
- Steve (2/5): - No kettle or drink facilities in room,,,
Room looking tired,
Won’t be returning…
- John (6/5): - Very basic facilities in room no carpet no cup or mug no tea making no hair dryer. Breakfast very good.
- Yuko (10/5): - The hotel was very clean and I like free drink and comfortable bed. Thanks.
- Colin (10/5): Ibis hotel Leicester - Clean, welcoming hotel with tidy rooms, friendly staff
- Colin (10/5): - The Ibis hotel is welcoming, clean, and convenient. The staff are helpful and effective, the rooms clean and comfortable. Parking is easy.
- Colin (10/5): - My friend and I have had two nights in this clean comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient. The parking is convenient and right next to the hotel. The rooms are compact but clean and convenient.
- BRIAN JOHN (10/5): - Good stay for the value, staff pleasant and helpful
- Paul (10/5): - Ok
- Amanda (2/5): Dreadful - unable to check in - This booking was made for a business stay by the company for a colleague. On arrival our employee was refused entry by a gent on reception because he did not have the card the booking was made with. We have booked rooms on many occasions and never had this issue, I believe the policy is to supply a card for anyone staying in the room. The guy on reception then told our employee "just forget it your room is cancelled".
we had to book into the Premier Inn
- Colin (10/5): Ibis economy hotel Leicester. - The hotel is very welcoming, the staff really helpful and friendly, the parking is easy and near the hotel, the room is clean and comfortable if a little small. The hotel is good value for money.
- Rachel (10/5): Value for money - Perfect working stay. Very clean and comfortable. Really good shower and very good breakfast. Will return.
- Trevor (8/5): Vfm - Value for money
- Behroze (10/5): - The location is good for business stay on the A6/A46 going from Leicester to Nottingham. It will avoid the morning rush hour traffic for you and getting on the motorway won't be a problem (if required).
The room has basic facilities, but is nice and clean. You get what you pay for really.
There is an ASDA mini store across the road at the Shell Garage, Coffee and Tea is available near the reception.
Staff are helpful. Hence my 5 star rating
- Dominik (10/5): Best low cost hotel around! - Great hotel, great staff and service! Seriously comfy beds, clean room and bathroom, great power shower and great EV charging set-up. But I would give the breakfast a miss
- NATHAN (8/5): Decent for the price - We only stayed for one night as we were flying early the next morning.
Beds were comfy, TV was nice and big.
Only gripe is there is no drink making facilities in the room, free coffee and tea is available near reception, just be nice to have the ability to make a drink in your room.
As the hotel is called ibis budget, it's not going to be a premier in or holiday express, for the price we payed, we can't complain
- Neel (2/5): Unpleasant experience -
Dear Manager,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent experience my girlfriend and I had at your Ibis Budget Hotel in Leicester.
During our stay, we encountered multiple issues that made our stay uncomfortable. Firstly, upon settling into our room, we discovered the presence of five large mosquitoes, which disrupted our sleep and caused considerable discomfort. Subsequently, when we requested a room change, we were provided with a new room, only to find a spider in the new accommodation. Unfortunately, this situation was distressing for my girlfriend, and we felt compelled to leave the hotel without staying the night.
I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but encountering insects in both rooms was unacceptable and significantly impacted our experience at your hotel. As a result, I kindly request a refund for the night we were unable to stay due to these circumstances.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to resolving this issue promptly.
Thank you for your understanding.
Warm regards,
[Your Name]
- Ben (10/5): Great place to stay for festivals - We used the hotel for somewhere to stay between 3 days at the download festival and the staff were very accommodating and friendly despite how tired and muddy we were. We had a slight issue with our booking and we have never seen more friendly or understanding staff at a hotel. They sorted the issue out fast and the stay was great.
- Gillian (10/5): - Checking in easy very friendly staff could not do enough for us we arrived very tired after moving out of our home and on the way relocating to Lincolnshire from Leicestershire . The one night stay at this lovely hotel gave us the chance to rest and relax thank you
- Dominic (8/5): - great stay
- Mr Tejinder Singh (10/5): - Good service
- Joy (8/5): - I would have given 5stars but at the moment there was no breakfast as the bar was being refurbished .
- Jagdish (6/5): - It was ok should be free parking not satisfied
- Elizabeth (6/5): - The hotel was fine but very disappointed that there were no breakfast facilities due to refurbishment of kitchen.which we didn’t realise until after we booked. Not made clear on the website. We then had to go to a Premier Inn for breakfast before driving home.
If I had realised I would have gone elsewhere.
- Lisa (8/5): - I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, it was spotlessly clean but oh my the bed was indeed awful and that would be my only complaint about the stay. It was nice to have a window in the room which could open and it was very quiet
- Ayman (8/5): - Good, quite & clean
- Kamaljeet (10/5): - Good
- Paul (2/5): Charged for parking so a zero - Charged for parking
- Frank (2/5): ibis budget Leicester Feb 24 - I will never stop here again. Parking fee (£3.00) is hidden in the small print of listing. You can only get a tea or coffee from reception area (no facilities in room). Bed was like sleeping on a plank and the pillows looked large but were filled with hollofibre and crushed down to around 15mm thick when you put your head on them so if you sleep on your side, you end up with a stiff neck. Room has ensuite but no hairdryer for when you get out of the shower.
- Natalie (8/5): - For budget it is okay but uncomfortable pillows and no mirrors near power points. Good if you want very basic. Staff were lovely though
- Paul (6/5): Decent - Cheap and cheerful with no issues apart from a vey hard uncomfortable bed.
- Md Minhaz (10/5): - Average good
- Tafadzwa (6/5): - The rooms are too small for 2 occupants, was made to pay a parking fee upon arrival which l think should be included on the booking fee, however they are quite clean and the staff
- Ayman (8/5): - Reosnable, clean & nice staff
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget ibis budget night - It was ok. No kettle in the room so had to go to communal area to make hot drink. No normal coffee available, only decaf. Bed mattress not very comfortable. Didn't know we had to pay for parking until after we had booked.
- Steven (8/5): Good value for a few nights.. - Hotel is good for a place to sleep, clean, friendly and helpful staff, it has a little shop to buy snacks etc and the pizza and beer was good value and tasty.. I didn't have breakfast which was available..
- Trev (4/5): - £20.00 extra fir early check in. and because i booked through hotel.com the hotel charged me £3.00 fee. Also complimentary tea/coffee in foyer wasnt a problem, however having a kitkat snack 4 finger was £3.00, so a reasonable price to start out cost me shy of £100 i could have booked into a more comfortable location for much same final cost. was disappointed.
- Julie (10/5): - Lovely little budget hotel, very clean and bijoux. Would definitely stop again, we asked for extra pillows and hairdryer which were provided.
Very quiet, staff very polite.
- Satwinder (10/5): - We went from Scotland to Leicester for a fastival .we enjoyed our stay at ibis hotel .facilities are great friendly staff . Overall good experience thanks.
- Paresh (6/5): Not the greatest - Dirt around not cleaned properly. Shower not powerful.
3 guest and gave us only 2 towels.
- Dhawal (10/5): - Approach towards the customer, absolutely professional and helpful.
- Rob (10/5): - For £70 per night including breakfast was fantastic value, rooms nice and clean, great shower and very friendly staff, what is there not to like 🙂
- Suleman (2/5): Literally very budget and poor. Apart from price - Hoteal was literally budget. Says it in the name really. But not in the price. This hotel was a eye opener. Small room, cold room, no cozy feeling. No complimentary hot drink in the room. Noisy hotel, could hear everything outside. Was told to pay for parking.
- Robert (10/5): - Basic but very comfy stay. Would stay here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Budget stay but extremely clean. Staff were lovely, so friendly, welcoming and nothing too much trouble for us. Free hot drinks in reception and we had hot food in the early hours - offered and served with a smile. Great staff, thank you
- SHARLENE (6/5): - My first time staying in a budget hotel the only downfall was that there was no house cleaning during my 2 night stay however I would stay again. The staff were welcoming and friendly on arrival.
- Trev (10/5): - Another excellent visit with prompt friendly service, excellent breakfasts ans all the free tea I could drink 24/7.
Will definitely stay again
