Bed was comfortable, a nice to have would be instructions on how to use the heater as it did get a little chilly at night. Overall a good stay. Nothing to do with the hostel, but can be tricky to find places to eat on a Monday night.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic but passable. Unsatisfactory bed. - Basic but had all the amenities we needed for a 1 night stay. Some reviews say no hot water but we had two hot showers and had no issues. No toiletries is fine for a hostel but hand soap would have been helpful. Good location and parking available at the back of the property. Overall it was fine but two main issues: 1) we were both itching after sleeping in the bed - not sure if this is because of low quality bedding or bugs. 2) The lock box made it easy to check in but the front and back door isn’t locked, even at night so it didn’t feel very secure. Had I been staying alone I think I would have felt quite unsafe. There was a kitchen and lounge but we didn’t use them as the instructions didn’t indicate they were shared areas. Additionally, the green fire exit light in the room was very bright with the light off and so I slept with an eye mask. Only 1 thin pillow per person.

Notre chambre avait une salle de bain pleine de moisissures. Nous l'avons signalé et on nous a changé de chambre. Nous avons été réveillés à 1h30 du matin par des gens qui essayaient de rentrer dans notre chambre. Le self check in permet au propriétaire d'éviter les plaintes en face à face. Très mauvais rapport qualité prix. Une arnaque à mon sens.

The wifi wasn’t very reliable unless you were near the closest outside wall, but worked well there. Overall, it was clean enough, the TV had cable, and the beds weren’t too uncomfortable. No hot water shower at all even have waited 10mins running it on. Only hot water from the tap. We 4 needed to hold our breath and run in a 1 minute shower after a long tiring hiking day, not fun at all! Will never stay again even it's free, let alone we paid £90 for a night.
- Deepak (8/5): Good friendly accommodation - I stayed for 1 night in room no 2 which is located on the ground floor of the main building. This room is disabled friendly with a large ensuite bathroom. Self checkin process was straight forward. Room itself was spacious and clean. The chairs were a bit worn out but understandable for the price. Some noise transmitted from upstairs as people walked on the floorboards but did not bother me. Handy space at the back of the building to park the car. Overall I felt safe and comfortable. Handy bar/restaurant (Fiddlers) directly opposite the hostel serving great food.

I couldn't access the Wi-Fi and ate through a chunk of data on my phone. Aside from that the facilities were comfortable, clean, and equipped with en-suites. - Dawn (10/5): Good pit stop stay - We stayed just the one night on our way home. The cabin was very clean. Arrangements were made so that we had no physical contact with the staff which, as our stay was during the Covid 19 pandemic, was very good. We were able to park right outside the door. There was a picnic table and chairs for our use right out side too. The communal kitchen was clean, the laundry room seemed well supplied though we had no need to use it. Inside the cabin the beds were comfortable, the TV worked well with no interference (in fact I have the very same TV in my own home) WiFi reception was good. The shower worked well though it takes a while for the hot water to come through which is usually par for the course when using this kind of accommodation. Only minor point to improve on was that the towels, though very clean, were also quite well worn. All in all an enjoyable, comfortable stay with a good nights sleep, which is all we were after. Will definitely stay again on our way to and from Orkney.

With a contact number on the front door if needed to get hold of anybody. The hostel as a public Laundrette in the car park which was useful. My room had a TV a suprise for a hostel but unfortunately it was not tuned in.

It was a bit farther but the the room more spacious and the common areas for dining and kitchen is also spacious and able to accomodate more people at the same time. - Verified traveler (2/5): - On day of stay owner contacted me to tell me that he was transferring me to the sister hostel which was only 5 minutes down the road due to coronavirus. I was okay with this as he tome me it was 5 minutes away from the hostel. It was Far longer and out in the middle of nowhere- only way to get to Drumnadrochit was to drive as you would spend ages walking there and back. When we got to the hostel the room hadn’t been cleaned yet and we had already entered the room (covid risk!!). In the end we did not stay due to the poor communication and standard of the hostel we were transferred to. Definitely nothing like what was expected. We were refused a refund for the property which was highly disappointing given the situation.

- Jamie (8/5): Basic and Serviceable - We booked a room for 3 people and were given one of the bunk style cabins in the backyard. This would have been fine for what we needed if there weren't two rather annoying issues - mattresses were uncomfortable on two of the three beds, and the bathroom had a seriously funky smell. Despite leaving windows open and spraying deoderant into the room it was barely usable during our stay (only if you held your breath). Aside from the uncomfortable mattresses and foul bathroom order (which didn't permeate the room if you closed the door) - the site was clean, well proportioned, and easily accessed. It was perfectly serviceable for sleeping only and close to many great sites (Loch Ness, Urqhart Castle, etc.). Very basic but we didn't expect much more (except perhaps a bathroom that didn't smell). Don't pay any attention to the stock photos though - they didn't match the rooms at all. Lovely poster bed in one of the photos and we ended up in bunks. Which that part was clearer on the site, but again we didn't expect much from the location otherwise.
- Kelley (6/5): Basic hostel accommodations - We enjoyed our 2-night stay, meeting several nice travelers. The little cabin we stayed in was tiny but adequate for me and my adult son. The bathroom was a bit too small for comfort, and the bare floor could be greatly improved with an area rug. The kitchen was very clean, but was lacking a coffee pot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Decent. No breakfast on hand or hot water for showers in the morning. Great location but expensive for what you get.
- Alicia (4/5): Terrible mattress in the room - First of of all, the room (quadruple) didn't resemble the one in the picture when I did the booking. Then the mattresses where in a poor condition, I do not understand how they can use these mattresses instead of thrawing them to the rubbish. The room had also a funny smell. I wouldn't recommend this hostel at all.
- Hop Yi (10/5): Lovely place to stay in - The location is great. We have a road trip and the parking space are more than enough! The entire hotel and room are clean and quiet. Two restaurants are just across the road. A corner store is next door. Clean and bright bathroom!
- Verified traveler (10/5): great home base for exploring Loch Ness! - Everything was awesome. We had a thorough tour of the property upon arrival. Very clean and comfortable. Only feedback is that the kitchen is a little bit cozy for sharing space with other guests. Facilities were great even if the kitchen was a little cozy to share with other guests. A great experience overall; a very nice space in a very nice place!
- Taylor (4/5): Cheap Hostel - Cheap hostel near Inverness- we stayed in a shed in the back parking lot which had 3 twin beds in it. Easy to get in and out and a good quick place to stay it you're only in the area for a day or two. If staying longer, spending the extra money to stay in Inverness would be worth it!

- Eileen (8/5): Very poor communication - Overall, ok. Room ok, we booked a double with ensuite. Hostel facilities ok, kitchen ok, sitting room ok. Though the property is situated on the busy main road, and there was some traffic noise overnight at the room we had in the front of the property. BUT, it would be nice if someone from here answered their phone, very hard to communicate, or to arrange a late check in. Which when FINALLY contacted was not a problem, but it took MANY calls, a call to hotels.com, an email and finally a Facebook post to get an answer form here. I was about to cancel the reservation, due to lack of response.
- Ling-Su (6/5): Not the best stay of our trip - Upon arrival, the lady directed us straight to our room without any introduction. Heaters were locked so the room was very cold at night. Shower heat was inconsistent. Hotel is near Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness so the location is convenient for seeing these sights.
- Steven (6/5): Great location to see Loch Ness and the Castle - Very cold room that the supplied heater couldnt support, slept fully clothed for the outdoors to cope. Bed and pillow uncomfortable.
- Miss Jieru (6/5): convenient hostel to explore Loch Ness - The location is good, and the kitchin/lounge is nice to do some work or have food, but the bedroom was a bit small, and there was strong smell in the room when entering. Good value for money if travelling on tight budget.
- JS (6/5): Cheap. - This hostel has many rooms, I was given a room with bunkbeds however the room was next to the main road. I asked to see the chalets out the back and asked to stay in one instead, the lady agreed. The kitchen is nice, bright and comfortable as is the living room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good and centrally located, - Room was extremely comfortable for a back packers hostel, Hostel was very centrally located and easy to find. Parking at the rear of the building and close to restaurants and bars, also the lock ness boat tours.
