Guest Reviews
- Natalie (10/5): - Very clean
- Dawn (2/5): - Never again! Booked a night after a 2.5hr drive to get some sleep before an early morning flight. There was no sleeping to be had due to what sounded like a gymnastics session combined with the rearrangement of furniture in the room above. Apparently it was a room given to a homeless family by the council. The racket was on another level, plus the bed was like a slab of concrete so that would have been an issue in itself. The guy at reception did go and ask the people upstairs to keep the noise to a minimum, but it fell on deaf ears!
- Julie (8/5): - The hotel was fairly basic but it was good price, the rooms were clean and the bed cosy, which is all that really matters.
- John (10/5): - Everything was fine during our stay, apart from a finding a dubious-looking piece of "something sticky" in one of the paper cups in our room (sorted out quickly by reception).
There are several places to eat here. And whilst KFC, Greggs, and McDonald's aren't exactly the most appealing options, the West Cornwall Pasty Co provided a welcome alternative.
Our room was comfortable, warm and very quiet. All-in-all, It made for an ideal overnight stop.
- Nicola (2/5): - Lumpy pillows, ripped bedding, dirty bathroom and absolutely stunk of weed and cigarette smoke. Lots of youths hanging around too
- Raymond (4/5): - Bed lumpy, grubby shower full lime scale no shower gel. Very basic.
- Thomas (6/5): - To be expected for a hotel within a lorry park.
Rooms are basic, with little amenities. Staff quite helpful and friendly. Good customer service provided.
For convenience to truck drivers, the rates probably need to be reduced slightly to encourage more drivers to use the property.
- John (2/5): - The motel is run down with dirty carpets and paint work bathroom fittings are breaking down, the toilet roll holder was damaged and the towel rail was detaching itself from the wall. The bath is chipped and the bathroom very dimly lit, no heat in the bathroom so it's very cold when washing up the toilet seat is loose. The living area is in need of a good clean, with dirty floors, and the double glazing has failed in the room. Cardboard cups for drinking out of and plastic cups in the bathroom. These are only a few of the problems with that one room.
The only saving grace is the Reception Manager, who was a ray of light in a dismal Motel.
- Beverley (8/5): - Room ckean and very quiet . Maybe in a little need of an update but overall very good
- amit ranjan (10/5): Brilliant - Smooth check in experience, excellent service and accommodation facilities expected from a budget motel
- james (2/5): - I slept in my car it was that bad. Bugs on the floor, mould on walls. Do not stay here
- S J (10/5): Handy location, great price - Very handy location if travelling on the M6 in either direction. Very basic but for the price it was fine. Would stay again if needed. Lots of choice of food on site. Wasn't noisy either
- Alexa (6/5): - Standard motel which does the job to get your head down.
Staff very friendly . Advertise available Wii fi which has never been usuable. Occasionally I have issues with my work phone and need this service so is important for me. Would love to no why In this day and age it hasn't been fixed. Lower price for room maybee reflect this. Ds welcome and late checkout for a small fee.
- Mark (6/5): - Nice pub great food near by. Bed was very uncomfortable.
- David (10/5): - All was good. Value for money and a quiet room on ground floor.
- Beckett (4/5): Noisy - Well located, room was OK but there were cobwebs up in the corners of the room. Badly soundproofed, could hear people walking up and down the corridor all night. Then the cleaners seemed to be outside the room from 6am and constantly talking and laughing. Room had a kettle but no tea or coffee, had to go to Costa next door.
- Jeffery (2/5): - The hotel was discusting filthy and dirty i wouldnt recomend it ro a dog
- Darren (10/5): Priced right - Priced right comfortable and friendly
- Craig (2/5): Not the place to stay - There was no tea coffee, no cups as they use disposable was told if we want a hot drink to go to the shops and buy a drink within the shops there was no cups for a glass of water. No internet at all and tv had only a few channels.
The bed was very hard like sleeping on a table, the cleaning was awful bathroom down around all of the doors, the floor my feet where black fater shower from floor mould in bathroom and white lime scale build up around shower. There was a uses towel under the bed.
- Sophie & Nils (8/5): - Corridors could do with a good clean and a lick of paint. The room however was clean and bed comfortable. I slept like a baby.
- Rob (8/5): - The staff was really friendly, and the property is very dog friendly as well!
The main bed in the family room is quite comfortable. There was a small double pull out sofa bed as well, but like many sofa beds, this might not be suitable for a "full sized" adult.
Our room was clean and tidy, and suited our needs perfectly.
There were some minor neglected maintenance issues, but nothing that affected our stay, the overall functionality or the comfort of the room.
This would have otherwise been a 5 star review.
- Heather (10/5): - Was a great place to stay
- Lauren (2/5): - Called reception to ask people above us to stop stomping around talking and laughing for 4 hours constantly, they moved furniture and everything!! At midnight-5am constantly walking around.
Staff couldn't leave the desk to ask them to be quiet.
Bath is built in and surrounded by wood which is covered by vinyl, it's ripped (took pictures as we entered room)
Back of bathroom door is mouldy BLACK MOULD.
Mattress absolutely rock hard, I slept with 5 pillows to have it equal to my 1 Asda cheap pillowcase home.. that's how flat the pillows are.
Last time we came we had complimentary tea and coffee etc this time we had......... a kettle.. to stare at.
1 towel given for the room so extra had to be given.. we booked 2 adults and 1 child.
This is our second time here first to attend Chester zoo and this time was for gullivers world.
First time wasn't bad but yes we forgot about the horrible beds.
If you want a nice sleep home from home this isn't the place
- Ed (8/5): Fine stay for the money - On first impressions the beds seemed very uncomfortable. The main bed was very firm and the sofa bed had its springs secured to the frame (in case of spring thief I assume) which made it dip in the middle. We took the very thin mattress off the sofa bed and laid it on the floor so it was at least flat. We actually all slept very well so no complaints afterwards. In the room we were greeted by a kettle but no cups and no tea or coffee - confused I asked reception and apparently it was the morning shift’s job and they hadn’t left them for us but they kindly obliged. All in all it was fine and given the price, it was value for money.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Awesome staff but that's literally it!! - Upon arrival the staff where amazing. Always smiling always happy to chat or help and nothing is too much. Top quality there.
Everything else kinda went down hill from there.
The rooms are spacious, but the rooms are filthy. The room was full of dust. There are cobwebs all around the edge of the ceiling and a dead spider in one corner. There where blood splotches on the ceiling and there is noway id stand in the shower. The rooms need a deep clean.
The bed was a hard and uncomfy, mattress toppers are deffo needed here and the pillows need changing. They are flat and just not very comfortable. The bed was clean and imacculate tho.
The WiFi was down but that can't be helped but the TV had very very poor reception and it was actually stressing me out.
If you are downstairs you can hear people upstairs clambering about and god forbid if you wanna sleep past 7am as guest walk down the hallway talking loudly and shouting.
I hate to give a bad review but I probably would stay here and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.
- Thomas (6/5): - Very basic rooms! Although, rooms are clean and spacious. Bed mattress was quite thin and uncomfortable. Kettle is provided with coffee & tea, but paper cups (Bring your own). It is located by the truck stop, so noise was to be expected.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Did exactly what it said on the tin. - It was a one night stopover and the hotel delivered exactly what we expected. It was clean, large enough for the three of us and everything worked. Only downside, the bathrooms could do with a makeover, even just the grout and sealant, but it was perfectly clean and functioning. We would use this hotel again.
- Winifred (6/5): - Ok but beds hard and no facilities in the room.
- Rajvir (6/5): - Just ok
- Mark (2/5): Not impressed - Terrible bed
Dirty bath
- Stephen (8/5): Great location for the airport and great value - Hotel is perfectly located for the airport and room cost was cheap. Felt like a slightly cheaper travelodge, but good value for money for what it was, especially with free parking
- Aaliyah Kaur (8/5): - Staff were very welcoming and helpful, upon arrival we did not have enough towels but once speaking to staff and reception they provided immediately. Room was clean and comfy. No complaints! :)
- Stefen (6/5): Motel - Overall, spacious and fairly comfortable. The only thing that let it down is the lack of maintenance. Now I hear you, it's a motel but when the shower and toilet cistern leak water constantly you have to question this.
Besides that, the bed was comfortable to sleep on. The room wasn't cramped and the TV worked just fine. The hot water worked well too.
The staff were all friendly to me during my stay, which makes the difference when severely sleep deprived
- Janet (10/5): - The hotel was basic but super clean. No cups in room but reception produced tea making essentials when asked. The young lady who booked us in was lovely. The man who provided tea making bits was super nice. I managed to leave my fan remote behind and it hadn't turned up when I first rang but another lovely man took my details and said he would see if he could track it down. He rang me back , having found it ,and asked what I would like to do I asked if they could post it to me which they agreed to do at no cost. All in all a nice basic clean hotel with hidden super stars as staff. Highly recommended!!
- Chuen Shun (4/5): Everything was missing - The Wi-Fi was not available. Chair for the desk was missing. The battery cover of TV remote control was missing. The bath basin plug chain was missing!
A small soap provided instead of liquid hand wash and shampoo. It even provided paper cups!
- Syed (4/5): - The toilet had excrement on the outside of the bowl, under the seat which wasn’t cleaned. There was signs of mould in the tile grout in the bath/ shower area. There was rust present on the bath taps and other metal surfaces in the bathroom.
The noise was the worst part of the stay. People making noise closing/ opening doors/ talking loudly in the corridor until at least 1am when I eventually fell asleep.
- russell (2/5): NO WIFI NO WORK - I booked this hotel so i could work awsy from home befire dtiving to Liverpool the next day. No wifi meant that i couldn't work which was unacceptable.
- Jo (2/5): - Noisy, cold and dirty.
- Simone (8/5): - I had a late arrival, but no problem. Room was clean and basic but perfect for a good night's sleep.
- Richard (4/5): Poor TV reception and no Wi-Fi - There was poor TV reception and the Wi-Fi was not working. I wouldn't complain if one of these had worked
- Lavinia (2/5): - Dirty beds in both room we were offered. I reported to both the gentleman who was on duty when we arrived. The girl in the morning I informed about the bed settee. In the second room we were given. She told me that they already aware of the condition and that it being was dealt with. We will definitely not be be using this place ever again. I hope this enquiry is left on your review page. As I would hate to think of any human having to stay in those rooms.
- John (4/5): - The mattress was upside down, so, slept on bed springs ! Didn’t turn it over as I didn’t want see what was the other side. No cups to make a brew. The whole place looks run down . Avoid !
- Diane (8/5): - Pleasant stay for 1 night. Bwd linen was fresh and clean. Surfaces in room weren't clean. Bathroom could do with a freshen up of tiles/grout.
Staff helpful.
- michael (2/5): - Very poor, got charged twice and had to wait over an hour to get my money back
- Anthony (10/5): Ok for a base - Great for one night only issues is the bebs ate hard
- Scott (2/5): - Only stay here if you are desperate...
- David (4/5): - I’ve stayed here several times. But on this occasion the smell of dope would have knocked you out. I reported it to reception who already knew because others had reported it.
- catherine (4/5): - You get what you pay for.
It was fine for a late night arrival and early leave on a long journey.
I was unlucky enough to be there when other customers thought it's okay to shout and talk loudly in the corridor at 1am and 4am. They obviously had a group staying in different rooms.
I could hear all conversations clearly in the corridor and reception.
It's very tired inside.
- Stuart (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
- Paul (8/5): Good and in a useful place - It’s a former Travel lodge on a service station.staff friendly.helpful.place was clean with all you would expect.plenty of places to eat,buy food etc at any time day or night.its in a very useful interchange for lots of places, very reasonable price too
- Agne (4/5): - Beds a terrible, sofa bed mattress is so thin you can feel all the metals, put on the floor and it's feels like you sleep on the floor.
- Maarion (6/5): - Poor quality quilt and pillows. Pubes in bathroom sink. Shower screen ineffective, spray everywhere. Handy for services amenities and very quiet, no noise from other guests.
- Sylvia (2/5): - TV DIDNT WORK. PLACE WAS NOISY - VERY POOR SOUNDPROOFING. ONLY 2 TEA BAGS.
WE LEFT AFTER 2 HOURS TO GO ELSEWHERE.
- Danielle (4/5): - Pros: The gentleman on reception was nice and friendly and noticed I had crutches, and a dog, so moved us to a ground floor room, powerful shower, very little outside nose, bed reasonably comfortable, cheapest available accommodation in the area, services shops were in the style of a little street with a courtyard in the middle which was cute, £8 parking charge is not applicable if you enter your numberplate at reception.
Cons: Just very run down, looks like it's changed hands a few times (has perhaps been a Travelodge and an ibis) and had very little upkeep in-between, key cards have been replaced with key locks, which felt a bit flimsy and wobbly, found a hairy bobble on the bathroom floor, pot noodle in the sink plug hole, the skirting boards are filthy, blood stain on the bath towel, dirty marks on the duvet cover. Even though it was the cheapest place to stay in the area I wouldn't say it was cheap so was a lot to pay for the quality.
We didn't complain because we felt like all the rooms were probably a similar quality and were just exhausted so put up with it. We fixed things ourselves or didn't use anything unclean. It was just somewhere to crash for the night, have a quick wash and be off again, and for that it served it's purpose.
- Charlotte (6/5): For one night only more if mattress was on the bed - The staff were amazing. Free parking.
It was clean but the place is wore. Plenty of hot water. Towels were good, clean, and soft. It was really quiet at night. The bed was as hard as nails and the sofa bed was just springs, for one night maybe but any longer not great
- Alexa (8/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. Get what you pay for hotel. Nothing fancy . Situated in a brilliant service station with McDonald's, Greggs, KFC, Costa , mnd, and a bar. Only gripe no ei fi
- Amy (6/5): Okay - Last minute booking, easy to book, check in nice and simple, room was nice a big, could do withva really good deep clean, but overall was okay. I would book again.
- William (8/5): Clean and comfortable - Very clean comfortable quite basic but we have stayed a few times friendly staff
- keisha (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Stayed at Warrington Hotel for a few nights, went up north to visit family and needed somewhere reasonable to stay the facilities was clean, staff was very friendly would definitely stay there again.
- Dainius (8/5): - Ok
- Fiona (4/5): Poor - No glasses or cups available. I had to ask and was given a paper cup .
The duvet was very light , sheets were creased and the bed was lumpy.
The TV was much smaller than the usual hotel size .
- Stuart (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff.
- Andrew (10/5): Good value - Good stay, does what you need it to. Decent nights sleep.
- Danielle (10/5): Lovely staff - Our stay was great! We was waiting for my car to be fixed at a garage and the lovely staff let us extend our check out time!
- Jan (10/5): Very comfortable and convenient. Will stay again . - Still here and enjoying it .
- Charlotte (10/5): - Super quiet, warm ,very dog friendly stay.
Would recommend
- Joseph (10/5): - We enjoyed our comfortable stay, thank you.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Looking Tired - Wifi not working.
- Emma (10/5): - It was great. Friendly staff
- Sally (8/5): - B
- Nicholas (4/5): - Bed was awful dirt under bed
- Carl (4/5): - Friendly staff and good price. The shower do was broken and I got stuck in there for 10 mins.. not good but he fixed it.. get what you pay for I guess
- Keith (6/5): - Clean and tidy for this low cost hotel
- Kate (6/5): - Lovely staff, very clean room, good value. My only very small concern was the state of the mattress. I could count the springs just by looking at the mattress!
Having said that, i would still book again.
- Lynn (8/5): Great for a one night stop over to break journey - Stayed one night room spacious for the price , warm, clean bed comfy .
Lady on reception very helpful ,friendly .
- Gerald John (10/5): - My stay was satisfactory. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel and the nearby shops
- Garry (8/5): Ideal little stop off - Stayed here to break up a long journey and was ideal for that. Easy check in, free parking and clean
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Took a while to check in as I couldn’t wake the person sat at the reception… thought about going behind and taking a keycard myself but he eventually woke after me shouting hello about 20 times
Got in the room and the toilet had been used and not flushed and the beds are rock solid
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient and fairly peaceful - Booked 2 rooms for a family over night base while away in the area. Does a good job for that reason. Basic , simple and easy to find. I was worried about sound of traffic but windows well glazed and i heard nothing. Also had effective black out curtains. Woukd recommend if just looking to crash and have a shower.
- Daniel (6/5): - This place wasn't dirty but out dated
- Abbie (10/5): - Happy
- Lynne (4/5): - The bed was awful, the pillows were awful (both hard and lumpy). The room smelt like by ageing uncle had been there a month.
I probably know what I was getting into, so take all that on the chin. Why put a single female on ground floor smelly room when one floor up I could have at least slept with a window open and not felt vulnerable.
Thanks guys (as it will be guys)
- mike (6/5): Room was fine but WiFi was not working - Room was fine was unable to get on WiFi though but apart from that it was ok
- KATHRYN ELIZABETH (8/5): - Useful location for the airport
- Lee (10/5): - Great facilities.
- Steven (8/5): - Good bargain option
- Jacquie (2/5): - Room stunk of old smoke. Curtains were dirty and stunk of smoke. Only a paper cup to make a cuppa in the morning. TV remote didn't work. Very limited food available within the service area. I will not stay there again
- Angela (6/5): Basic hotel that could do with an update - Hotel was very convenient and was a good price for the area.
What let it down was the condition of the bathroom.
Pros:
Hotel is in a really handy location for getting about in this area.
The food shops in the service area were really useful.
Price was good for the area - you get what you pay for. Room was very basic, no toiletries, no hairdryer, no cups for tea or coffee - but you can get these at reception on request (although there were no hairdryers when I requested one).
Staff were friendly.
Parking is free if you input car details on the screen at reception.
Cons:
The bathroom was not clean. There was dust in several places, mould on the tiles and shower screen, staining in the toilet, dirt on the floor. I don't mind basic, but the level of cleanliness was not acceptable. It needs more attention to detail and a bit of bleach.
Cushion on the fold away bed was stained.
The television had basic channels but no subtitles (which I use when I'm watching).
- Kerry (6/5): - It was convenient for the purpose i required it, however the bed was terrible and there were no facilities to speak of in the room.
- Caroline (10/5): Sleepover - A great place to have a basic motel on a service station. All we needed was somewhere to sleep where we were dropped off after our coach holiday to the South Coast. As it is a service station plenty of places to eat and buy basic essentials.
- M R (8/5): Does the job - Great for a night's rest, has the essentials and was tidy enough for the price
- Swerve (10/5): - Cheap hotel but not price
- lindsay (2/5): Terrible and run down - Would not recommend to anyone to stay here. Very dirty, run down, basic place. No sockets near the bed, mattresses were like bricks, stains all over bedding and mattresses. Kids running round the halls all hours of the night, my husband had to go out and ask them to stop. No cups or anything in the room, did have a kettle but we had to go ask for tea bags and cups.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not great - Was not value for money, reception and most of upstairs stank of cigarettes, carpets in hall worn and threadbare in places, room not the cleanest, weird smell, 2nd bed not made on arrival, black hairs in bath and pungent smell from toilet, toilet then leaked all over floor, only saving Grace was the lovely woman on reception who at first made the second bed up then had to move us rooms due to the toilet issue. Without her would have given 1 star. It wasn’t what I would call a budget price either.
- Lynn (10/5): Great stop off - Staff efficient ,friendly .
- Hunt (8/5): Simple, clean and convenient. - Simple, clean and convenient. Just what I needed for a quick business trip.
- Geoffrey (2/5): - Everything and I’ll never stay there again
- Vanessa (4/5): - At this outdated motel, we endured a 20-minute wait for check-in with no attendant at the reception. The room lacked heating, had bare floors, and was missing a bin. This has been the worst hotel experience of my life. I will never return to or recommend this motel.
- Melanie (10/5): - Great for travelling
