Guest Reviews
- Nicholas (8/5): Cabin 8n the hills. - The location amd waterfall by the property. NA
- Jarrett (9/5): - Great location with a little stream running down the hill right next to the cabin that gave it a peaceful sound. Close to so many things to explore in that area of Scotland and breathtaking veiws. No internet service but still had cell service.
- Kimberley (9/5): Value for money - The drive to the cabin is steep but nothing that 4 wheel drive can’t handle, there is alternative parking if your car can’t get up on the little hill. Dear looking at us next to the window on the morning. It’s value for money and I would stay here again. Shower was easy to use and warm. The bed was abit springy but nothing major. We enjoyed the stay
- Robertson (1/5): Terrible in every way possible except the view - The curtains were clean and the view was terrific. There was not a lot more to like. With regret I have to report my disappointment of the standard of the Black Grouse Log Cabin.
This whole experience was a nightmare from start to finish. Wrong key safe code supplied and emergency phone number ignored. Message me request sent to me was a waste of time as it was also ignored.
The cabin itself was dirty, lots of grime and thick cobwebs and smelling of curry. Bedroom had a inoperative roof light with a lamp shade thick with cobwebs and the bed was broken with no mattress protector. The toilet not fixed to the floor made using it a challenge but the kitchen was at a different level of grot. With kitchen utensils and cookware not fit for use, plates, glasses and cups not cleaned and mouse droppings in the cupboards around the sink. Cooker was just disgusting with no grill pan we therefor used a lot of foil to isolate our food from it. TV didn't work no CD or DVD player there as advertised and the outside table and chairs not been cleaned for a very long time. Not as described by booking.com web site. We only stayed the second night due to family commitments regarding their celebration. I will not return to this place
- barry (3/5): dirty and uncomfortable - it was a beautiful cabin it was dirty, dishwasher full, dirty windows dirty kitchen tv didn’t work, bed was very uncomfortable slept on springs, covers smell bad,
- Agnieszka (5/5): Ok for a weekend stay - Dining are was good. Decent size bathroom. Furniture to put away your clothes with a good size wardrobe. Heating was working ok and all right shower pressure It would be drafty in winter as you could see through gaps between logs. Tired frying pan, needs replacing. Squeaky bunk bed. There is a stream near the cabin that was very loud after rainfall at night. Doors not closing easily enough.
- Milena (9/5): -
- Glenn (9/5): Very enjoyable would stay longer next time. - Comfortable clean and cosy. So peaceful at night. Not enough towels. Couple of hand towels would have been nice.
- Nathan (1/5): Do not stay here - Location Not as advertised t.v didnt work no wifi. Really bad smell inside the cabin. Water leaking in where electric heaters are.Black mould around the shower. Parking was really bad. Had the cabin for 2nights only spent 1 night as it was that bad.
- Jilly (6/5): A wonderful location and comfy enough - apart from the bed! - The location was great, you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The shower was great too. The bed was very uncomfortable. There were a lot of cobwebs in the bathroom. There was no plug in the bathroom sink. When you had a shower water went all over the floor. A hand towel would have been nice and a washing up cloth!
- Emma (7/5): Lovely wood cabin very peaceful - Cabins very cosy and great spot. There was no WiFi in the property. There is WiFi only in the hostel so the advert could do with clarifying this for cabins as it indicates this is available and as we were travelling for work in the area this was an issue for us. Our mobile phone hotspots worked thankfully but were not ideal signal.
- Jayne (10/5): Perfect, the only problem was it was too short a stay! - Comfortable and well equipped lodge (had a tassimo coffee machine too!). Beds were comfortable, and the balcony nice to sit out on. Just off the main road, but lovely and quiet. Nothing. It was exactly what we wanted as a base for exploring Loch Ness.
- Dagmara (9/5): -
- Fraser (9/5): -
- 3v13 (10/5): Great find would recommens - Stunning cabin really warm and cosy... Loved the views from the little terrace outside... The whole experience provided a comfortable stay for us all Would have liked a mop and a long handled brush to clean up after ourselves but other than that it was fabulous... Nicest most solid wood cabin we have stayed in
- Marijus (10/5): Had the best time and the rest in my life. So peaceful and quiet. Brought our own mini gas grill - Property was excellent, everything what we needed. Perfect location, quiet and peaceful. Many places around to visit. If you want to use dishwasher, bring your own tablets. Same with spices and toiletries. If you’re planning to grill meat, bring your own grill, we brought our mini gas grill, which did the job.
- Kerry (10/5): -
- Jackie (8/5): - The Log cabin is beautiful with it's elevated position. Perfectly suitable size wise for a couple and their dog. The toilet seat kept moving everytime you sat down.
The kitchen's extractor hood was very dirty and not been cleaned in a while with a few stuck on flies.
The kitchen pots and pans looked very weathered.
The bedroom mattress wasn't very comfortable as you could feel the springs in the bed.
- Blazej (4/5): Tired - Location and views were nice. 15 minutes to Loch ness and other attractions within easy reach. Very quiet and didn't seem to be a soul around. On first look when we walked into Black grouse log cabin it looked OK, however upon closer inspection it was quite grubby. Dishwasher still full of dishes, stains on the bed sheets (thankfully we brought our own). The bed was broken and you collapsed into the middle and the grime i cleaned from the shower isn't worth talking about. The place just felt a bit tired and neglected. I get the impression that the owners may be kicking on in years and are struggling to keep up with the work load the establishment takes. It just could've done with a good deep clean, thankfully I had taken a load of cleaning stuff with me.
All in if you're looking for cheap and cheerful crack on but it's not the 5 star luxury with white fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton linen it claims to be on it's website.
- Dariusz (10/5): - Very good price.bring own food and all what you need is there . Could be some light outside because on night time is really dark.
- Eddie (8/5): It could do with a better cleaning - You have everything you need A little dirty
- Rust (7/5): We had a lovely time and it is our 3rd time back there so that's proof in itself, Glen Affric lovely - Love the location and the real log cabin look ... got everything you need. The bed was unfortunately uncomfortable, we kept dipping into the middle of it and waking through the night. Maybe a board between the bed frame and mattress would help or adjusting the bed frame somehow?
- Hayley (8/5): -
- Ilaria (9/5): Baita immersa nel verde - Struttura situata in zona tranquillissima, immersa nel bosco. Posto ideale per passeggiare e ammirare le bellezze vicine al Lochness.
Ambiente accogliente e pulito.
Letti comodi, zona pranzo e salottino molto carini. Cucina dotata del necessario x preparare un piccolo pranzo o cena.
Molto positivo il posto macchina riservato alla struttura immediatamente vicino.
Da tenere in considerazione per il prossimo soggiorno in Scozia.
- haycock (1/5): - Cabin was not very clean .We found mouse dropping s on the kitchen window. The curtains in the bedroom were full of mildew and mould. The bedroom smelt musky and damp .Walls were stained from a leak in the roof. TV and the washer were not working .We contacted the host, and she arrived very quickly, and we moved to a different location.
- Frank (8/5): - Excellent log cabin in a very quiet location.
Perfect stay to get away from the hustle of everyday life.
The log cabin has all the basics that you need and is very clean.
- Joe (8/5): - It’s a cabin setting there’s a few bugs and washer/dryer didn’t work and the furniture is older. Great place to get away from the city noise but needs to be updated and the GPS is about 3/4 of mile away from where the cabin is actually located.
- CHRISTINE (10/5): - So comfortable there. If you want peace and quiet with great views this is it. We had an issue with washer/dryer and response was great.
- gary (10/5): -
- Gordon (7/5): - Dead bird and the holes in rotten decking
- Paul (10/5): Loved it! - Location situated high up is brilliant. Well appointed. Nothing
- Aoife (4/5): Disappointing -
- Bruce (1/5): Very disappointed and not a very comfortable short stay. - The peaceful location was lovely. The Black Grouse cabin described on the booking site was not what we arrived to. The listing showed a very well kept cabin, ideal to what we were hoping for, but upon arrival we were very sadly disappointed.
Certainly NOT a 5 star rated luxury cabin.
On entering the cabin, we noticed how dirty the inside was.
Kitchen, The cooker hob was damaged in one corner and didn’t work properly and covered in a spill of cooking oil. A lack of crockery, ovenware, sweeping brush, etc.
The plugs in the sinks were missing, (we bought a basin so we could wash dishes). Fridge freezer could have been bigger as very little room in fridge for much.
The dining area, the one chair was coming apart. The blind couldn’t be opened as one side damaged. Rug was torn also & just left there. The light fitting was too big & dirty.
The TV didn’t work, it couldn’t find channels, no radio & big blood splatter on sideboard (never cleaned off). The living area only had a cuddle chair, not suitable for sitting on as you just sink in the seat & flop right back (wasn’t a sofa like we expected). French doors to deck (dining side) handles were broken so door was held shut with wood screwed onto the decking, this too looked like it’s rotten & with broken boards (not safe).
Bedroom - I doubt this was cleaned (certainly didn’t smell clean) & the mattress was old & long past its life so not comfortable to lie on.
The bathroom was the best looking room in the cabin but it could do with a more adjustable shower because current one the water comes out at wrong angle & floor gets soaked (why the flooring is warped because it’s not meant for a bathroom). The original floor would have been much nicer as with the whole cabin it’s just poorly looked after & not been maintained, the curtains had many water stains & musty (not good for anyone).
The cabin could be lovely again with a little thought and care, but sadly this was not the case before we booked.
- Regina (5/5): Passable - It was a very nice place to stay - but it wasn't clear that WIFI is only in 1 certain point available and this place was - I don't know. So NOT in the log cabins. The washing machine was usable but not very clean and we had a wasps' nest on the terrace. We announced that - but no answer. At the end, it is a very nice location, but they have to improve
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Guillaume (9/5): Superb - The calm, the coziness. Maybe time to replace the mattress!
- d (6/5): - Google Map Pin is Not Correct. It brings you to a private residence kms prior.
Cabin is very functional - just needs a good clean due to dust / spider webs
- Sanjay (7/5): Good -
- Janice (4/5): Needs maintenance and a good clean -
The black grouse cabin really needs to be checked by someone, have some maintenance work carried out and have a good clean not simply just a change of bedding/towels for new guests.
A few issues
Balcony needs repair, rotten wood
Several areas thick with dust
Chipped glass
Only one wine glass
No kitchen sink plug
Bathroom wash hand basin plug stuck so can’t use
Previous guests dirty washing in wardrobe, (probably still there)
One hob ring difficult to turn off
Access road is awful some people may find difficult.
Basically tired uncared for chalet. We would not use again and wouldn’t recommend
- Andrew (7/5): Nice couple of days staying in a traditional log cabin - Location was good, facilities were very good. Had to park my car down the bottom of the lane ,just because it was a low sports car.
- Roz (8/5): Lovely log cabin very quiet. About a 10 minute drive to Loch Ness - Very well equipped, had everything Bit of the beaten track
- Hannah (3/5): Neglected Accommodation - Filthy accommodation everywhere you look, no information or welcome pack, old and uncomfortable bedding/mattresses etc, builders equipment outside the accommodation, the place looks like it's been neglected and abandoned, a real shame and wasted opportunity.
- Emily (10/5): Fabulous stay - Scenery is absolutely beautiful ❤️
The cabin very clean ,tidy and had everything we needed for the stay.
Lovely sitting outside the cabin with a drink on a nighttime .
The shower is amazing 😍😍 There isn't anything we didn't like about this place.
- Johnathan (2/5): Good location but owner is taking your money without providing the correct service. - Good location in the glen away from the bustle of drumnadrochit. Really dirty. Clear to see that the cabin was built in a hurry. Rubbish etc. surrounded the cabin and quite frankly it looked unlikely that the exterior had ever been cleaned. Inside was a little better but you can see it was cleaned to a 75% standard, with key bits having been missed. Despite electrical certificates stating safety standards, the hob remained on despite it having being turned off!
- Rory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (7/5): We enjoyed beautiful weather whilst at the cabin which is well equipped but just a little neglected - The cabin was well enough equipped and had lovely countryside views, the location was very peaceful. The cabins location is actually nowhere near Loch Ness, the nearest shop is in Drumnadrochit.
The cabin was pretty shabby and not the cleanest there were cobwebs literally all over both external and internal walls. Outside was unkept and just on a steep dirt track slope. There are no surrounding grounds suitable for dog walking.
No staff were present
- Kaeren (10/5): Great place - We were given a free upgrade which was great, the location was perfect and the accommodation was spot on, there was nothing to dislike.
- Luke (6/5): Great potential but spoiled due to cleanliness - - Clear property directions and access instructions provided well ahead of the stay.
- The master bedroom was clean and well-presented.
- The bathroom was clean.
- The property is in a nice, isolated location that still remains close to many tourist spots.
- The property itself has great potential if properly maintained.
- It's a log cabin in the Highlands of Scotland! - Unclean second bedroom: The beds seemed either unmade or previously used, towels weren’t folded, and there was lots of litter on the floor behind the set of draws
- Living Room Cleanliness: There was litter behind the TV, and the sofa was dirty, with what looked like a spill down the back of it.
- Bathroom Light Malfunctioning: The light flashed intermittently, making it inconvenient to use.
- Non-Functional electric fire: Despite being advertised and in pictures, it did not work.
- Fridge Hygiene Issues: Something had spilled, leading to mould growth.
- No Cleaning Products Provided: Despite being advertised, no cleaning supplies were available. This made it impossible to address any of the hygiene issues.
- Uncommunicative host beyond the initial access communications.
- Other issues such as random leftover food in cupboards, and litter on the outside of the property (such as a discarded sock and towel).
- Cuthbert (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (2/5): Very poor - The view All 4 places they put us in to stay were really dirty no heating no TV no wifi
- Divyansh (9/5): Superb -
- Amer (9/5): Superb -
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Nothing
- Martin (8/5): Very good - Cabin and surroundings Only contact from the owner was a phone call at 11.30pm asking if we had checked into the wrong cabin,tv didn't work so good job I brought my own, wrong wifi code so had to go down too hostel kitchen and luckily I food it,
- Lambert (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful warm cabin in a great location. Loads of space and the full kitchen was very handy. It even included a dishwasher and washing machine. Keys were in a lockbox next to the door on arrival and an area to park outside the cabin.
The shower was amazing with great water pressure.Would definitely recommend and we may well come back for longer next time.
- Willett (6/5): Pleasant - We really wanted a log cabin but was given a house. Not told till it was to late we were disappointed We had no one come and talk to us.
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Alec (10/5): - This property is beautiful and well kept, the owner sent all access info in advance and when we arrived the property was clean warm and stocked with essentials. This was our second stay at the log cabins and we will DEFINITELY come back again.
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Great cabin either everything we needed N/a
- K. (8/5): Very good - Nice cottage, lovely for some real time together
- Anna (8/5): Nice, cosy stay. - It was a quiet, scenic location. The cabin was clean. It was cosy.
Ignore bad reviews! There were some cobwebs but probably hard in a wooden, highland log cabin to keep them out. Despite that didn’t really meet the spiders.
- Sarah (8/5): - Lovely one bedroom log cabin just 6 miles from Loch Ness Museum etc
Really good amenities in the cabin - washing machine, dryer, dishwasher etc
Plenty of hot water
Good size fridge/freezer
Only thing stopping me giving 5 stars was the dust and cobwebs in the bedroom - other than that a fantastic little place
- Steve (9/5): Location was great and the facility was excellent - Location was great and the facility was excellent N/A
- Rust (8/5): Loved the cabin once again and we will be back, stunning outlook and location has access to plenty. - Location and outlook is stunning. Needs a wee hedge trim to maximise the view outlook as it is spectacular. Absolutely love the vibe of the cabin, this is our 2nd time now. Ignore the negative reviews, it was perfectly clean and functioning. Only a couple of minor faults with wear and tear. Can't really fault anything much at all, batteries for the remote controls needed replaced but we could have done that ourselves. DVD player in lodge I thought was adviertised but isn't there, there is a scart cable so you could bring your own. Towels are quite small so I would suggest bringing your own.
- Jasvinder (8/5): i would go back but for a longer time as i started to enjoy and did not want to leave. - the location was excellent but would prefer if they had a place for breakfast or provide breakfast in the morning. a breakfast menu will excellent
- Vicky (8/5): Very good - The cabin was great
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- John (6/5): NOT A 5 STAR ACCOMMODATION - 5 START - POPERTY WASNT AS LISTED
NO RED CURTIANS, LEATHER SEATS, KITCHEN HOB, NO FLUFFY TOWELS AND THE CABIN COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH CLEANER
COULDNT GET CAR TO THE DOOR OF THE PROPERTY
WASNT BEST VALUE FOR MONEY
- Morgan (5/5): Good concept, poor execution. - The concept of the log cabin was great and the location was beautiful! Good shower and happy to be able to bring the dog. Very run down and not clean. Not what I would expect for the price we paid. The tumble dryer didn’t work, the curtains were falling off the rails, everything was very grimy especially the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen - we had to wash everything before cooking. Because of this I rather resented the extra cleaning charge for the dog! Would be very easy for them to improve with a little effort.
- Oleg (8/5): - Liked the log cabin itself and positioned well.
Wasn't the best on cleanliness but looking at the previous reviews was expecting it and even worse...
Frankly it's not too bad and my review is positively good 👍
- Colin (8/5): Lovely log cabin experience but slightly spoilt a bit by some maintenance items. - Quiet but handy location with stunning views. Lovely rustic log cabin feel. Uncomfortable bed, drooped in middle. Water tap in kitchen jammed open, maintenance person due, hotplate element could not be turned off which was a worry. Wardrobe unusable due to a very bad stench. Floors not clean in some rooms. Sheets did not feel fresh. No kitchen cloth or sponge. No dishwasher pellets.
I guess it just needs someone to maintain this otherwise lovely accommodation.
- Elise (8/5): BCC Log Cabins. - Stunning log cabin in a beautiful setting. Views were amazing and the stream at the side of the cabin a soothing bonus.
Good decor throughout.
Cabin was well equipped if basic. Good dining/sitting room area.
Good size rooms.
Kitchen good size and equipped with basics.
Welcome pack was standard.
All in all I would book again, as we really enjoyed our 3 nights here. Some minor maintenance needed. Screws missing on door plate to balcony.
Windows need cleaning.
No extra blankets.
No extra towels.
No vacumm or carpet sweeper. Area directly outside recently cut, and grass was everywhere in the cabin. No means to sweep this up.
Area being developed still, so immediate area a little rough, but I imagine that will improve going forward.
Better signs needed to site from road, we assisted another person trying to find where to go.
- Barry (10/5): Great weekend and only 20 min drive from Inverness - Beautiful area with great views It was all great
- sheila (6/5): - It was very dated and also was not very clean when we got there.
- Mikko (8/5): Nice peaceful cabin - Nice quiet place and well equipped cabin. Short distance to many interesting places. Nothing to mention
- Lilian (7/5): Good -
- Mary Jane (2/5): DISGUSTING DO NOT BOOK - Disgusting property. Booked for 2 nights but reluctantly stayed one. Filthy, full of cobwebs, bed falling apart and smelled. Cabin is completely neglected and looks derelict from outside. Slept fully clothed as bedding didn’t feel or smell clean. Absolutely awful. DO NOT STAY THERE! Disappointed that hotels.com even agree to host this place!
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - All the facilities we needed. Nice location. A cabin in the woods. Enjoyed our stay. Terrific shower. Mattress could do with being thicker. Plumbing needed upgraded.
- Karyn (6/5): Cabins - The location and views Place is rather run down now this is my 3rd visit to this cabin and the standards have slipped alot alot of things now needing replaced, 2 of cooker rings didn't turn off cupboard door was balanced on washing machine cooker was chipped struggled to turn taps on and off the bin was dirty on inside hadn't been wiped down for ages one of patio doors don't lock was clumps of dust lying around spillages on tv unit which hadn't been wiped down 😳😳
- Amy (1/5): Disgusting - The property was absolutely filthy. The bed sheets hadn’t been changed. There was still rubbish from the previous stay, the bins hadn’t been emptied, everything was dusty and needed Hoover, inside the kitchen cupboards was sticky, the glasses were also sticky, the oven was filthy and covered in grease, there was mould all over the bathroom, there were spiderwebs everywhere - to name a few things. The tv also didn’t work. I would not recommend staying here, this accommodation should not be on booking.com The log cabin was not clean.
- Catherine (6/5): - We were disappointed in the cleanliness and the shower was very slippy and the hand basin was unsafe plug didn’t work. The fire extinguisher was empty and being used. The tv didn’t work at all and there was dvd but nothing to play them on games and the dominoes were missing. It was dusty and uneven to walk on I found it difficult to walk on using my walking stick. I found the sofas too low for me but might be fine for others. The shower when we got it working was good and they did supply us with a bath mat for it. It would have been nice to meet someone to show you how things worked instead of finding paperwork in a drawer to read . I have to say that I was disappointed with what we got for the money we paid for it. I don’t think we would stay again.
- Mats (5/5): False advertisement and very dirty overall - The shower was very modern, the lodge itself has great potential, and it's a very quiet area. The lodge was advertised as a luxury lodge, which it most certainly wasn't. Our complaints wouldn't be as many if the advertisement was more honest. There was a lot wrong with the lodge: the dishes were dirty upon arrival and we had to clean then thoroughly first before using, the cupboards were dirty inside, one cupboard door was falling off and another had its handle falling off, the outside decking was in desperate need of some re-staining, the furniture was different than advertised and a lot of it was old and put together through FB marketplace, the pictures that showed the lodge beforehand were also not recent at all, there was a lamp bulb missing, there were bleach stains in the towels, there was a bloodstain on the bedsheets, there were spiderwebs all over, there was a lot of dust, a chest of drawers door handle was very loose, the washing machine lost parts when on, there was wood stains dripping down the walls and on the windows, the mattress was old, hard, and in desperate need of replacing as well, and the windows were very dirty. The owner got also very agitated and angry when we called him over the phone (on advice of Booking.com and on the listed phone number) when we asked him about the other recent negative reviews.
A lot of these issues wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't advertised as a luxury lodge. A luxury lodge means the highest standards, not a lot of dirty dishes, old mattresses, and broken cupboards. This was just plain false advertisement. It was not worth the price. The only reason we didn't give it lower than a 5 is because of the location and the lodge building itself being very nice. We would definitely not stay here again in this state of disrepair.
- Kirsty (6/5): Pleasant -
- Naomi (4/5): Not clean, missing essentials, disappointing - Close to Glen Affric Not clean, not tidy, lots of essentials missing or poor quality. Dirty cupboards, nothing to clean with, old dish sponge & torn gloves, broken door handles, one door fixed shut, front door lock hard to open/close, no cooking dishes, threadbare bedding & pillows, abandoned rubbish & old cars, derelict glamping pods, hostel looks grim, only enough hot water for one very quick shower….absolutely not five star & photos of hostel & pods definitely not current. View from balcony of rubbish. Would not return.
- Samantha (8/5): Very good - The cabin, view and stream. The heating as no instructions how to work it and there was no staff to welcome us.
- Linas (6/5): Pleasant - Cleaned very superficially
- Heather (8/5): Fabulous, secluded cosy log cabin. - Very peaceful, cosy and warm log cabin. Fully equipped with everything you would need. Great power shower and a comfy bed after a day of walking. Situated away from the tourist hot spot but not far by car to nearby shops. I can't think.of anything.
- aaron (10/5): - more than we expected👌.
definitely be coming back.
- Konrad (1/5): Bad - Only localisation was good The house was not cleaned everywhere was rubbish, under sofa also under pillows on sofa. Pilots from TV was dirty, hair dryer also was so dirty. TV was not working was no signal. Everywhere was spider webs. Kitchen hood was broken. Floors was also not cleaned. Everywhere was mess. In toilet supposed to be shower gel and shampoo like on advert there was only hand wash.
- Lisa (3/5): Poor -
- Lisa (7/5): Was a very relaxing stay . - Beautiful rustic log cabin
Great location
Peaceful surroundings
Has a small burn running beside the cabin (The shower)
ran the shower got hot to start with then suddenly went extremely cold so couldn’t use the shower .
- Carol (7/5): Great staff but horrible mice droppings - Staff were very nice and helpful. The place we ended up staying in was clean but cold. The place we stayed in wasn't our original booking. Our original booking was gorgeous looking and very quaint but it had recent mouse droppings on the worktop, couch and floor. The sponge in the kitchen had been chewed to bits. The bedroom had an extension cable in the middle and underneath the bed. Not easy to reach for charging phones etc. Two out of four spaces were used by lamps. When I said I wasn't wanting to stay in a place with mice the staff were very nice and immediately gave us another place to stay. The second place hadn't been used for at least a few days so there was no heating . Not great in November. I'd rather be cold than have mice around. Don't care if it's field mice or bigger. I wouldn't want to stay there. However I couldn't complain about staff. They were definitely nice and helpful.
- Macdonald (10/5): Exceptional - I absolutely loved it was so cosy
- Rory (1/5): Bad -
- John (8/5): Very good - Enjoyed the peace and quiet, with good veiw from porch. The couch that we had was comfortable once you got settled , but very difficult to get on and off.
- Lisa (7/5): Good - Nice peaceful location. Cabin was clean. No blind on kitchen window. Blind in living room not great to close. Out side balcony could at least get swept and rid of cob webs. Bed was too hard and could do with a new one. No wi-fi and no staff to be seen.
- Timothy (9/5): If I needed accommodation in the area wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again - It’s a wooden cabin never stayed in one before It had all modern amenities great Nothing
