Guest Reviews
- Alison (8/5): Quality but shower so so - Only reason the score was not better as the shower isn’t great.
- FRANCISCO (10/5): EXCELNTE DEPA - TODO EXCELENTE, LA PROPIEDAD EN EXCELENTES CONDICIONES Y EN BUENA ZONA DE GASGLOW Y LA PARADA DEL BUS EN FRENTE
- Annmarie (4/5): - Communication was good up till asking about deposit getting returned and a week later and still no refund or answers
- Colin (10/5): - Ground floor apartments couldn’t open windows for obvious security reasons, however very hot days and rooms were stuffy with no air conditioning
- LIAM (2/5): Shambolic & no morals - Person who rented out the apartment ignored my calls, texts & emails which meant we had no access to apartment even though it was paid for. My wife & me were left stranded in the freezing cold in Glasgow & had to book a hotel. Absolutely disgusting way to treat people, would avoid at all costs.
- Randhir (10/5): - Wonderful property in a great location.
- John (2/5): When is a booking not a booking? - The booking was made as pay at property. When I arrived I found out that the booking had been cancelled because of this but I had not been notified by email, in fact I got emails on the day confirming my check in time. This left me 250 miles away from home and an hour before a meeting with no accommodation
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great experience
- Bill (6/5): - Good location for site seeing. Great to have an in-unit clothes washing machine with good sized drying rack. Rooms were cold and unable to figure out how to use heating system. Radiators all had a yellow powdery substance on top and we weren’t sure how the powder would react to the heat. Wifi on the top floor was intermittent.
- Kevin (8/5): would not stay again - Walking distance to parks and city life. The street is quiet. The "free parking" option required a bank transfer for a fob deposit, and then giving out my banking information for a refund, seemed like a total scam. So I parked overnight on the street out front, and then had to move the car first thing in the morning to an expensive garage 5 minutes away.
- Linda (4/5): - Our suites needed an update very badly - the location was great but the apartments are very dated & not clean - there was urine in the toilet bowl when we arrived
- Jonny (10/5): Awesome! - Amazing, will be back. Thanks 😊
- DOUGLAS (10/5): - Really nice apartment in a decent location with free parking. Apartment was very spacious and warm, with all the amenities you would expect. I stayed in Apartment 12 which had a double room and a bunk bed room along with good sized living room (Freeview TV), good kitchen and a bathroom. I would recommend staying here.
- JOANNE (10/5): FABULOUS - Fab. No complaints. The location could not be better. Room was even better than expected. Will be back.
- Shona (10/5): Excellent place - Excellent stay in this very spacious apartment. Very comfortable bed. Excellent location for exploring Glasgow, only a short walk from great shops and restaurants. Very quiet despite this, we slept really well. We hope to be back.
- Mark (8/5): - Fantastic location. Spacious and very helpful informative host. The 2 of the 3 heaters didn’t work so with the old windows it was never “cosy”. Great value. Just bring your thermals.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overnight stay - We booked a last minute overnight stay in Glasgow. 52 Charlotte st was the ideal location.
- Helen (10/5): Charmed at Charlotte Street - This is my 4th stay here. It's a great location with the bonus of having private parking available. The apartments are very well equipped, clean and spacious. I'd happily recommend this place to anyone looking for more than just a bed. I've already booked my next stay here.
- Raul (4/5): - Nice that it’s a fully equipped apartment. But SOOO many bedbugs, they haven’t changed the sheets in years
- Denise (10/5): - Lovely comfortable accommodation would definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Apartment was great but had no hot water for showers first thing in morning. Think they require to look at boiler
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location of the appartment is perfect since it is within walking distance to the centre of Glasgow. The apartment and the building as such, however, need repairing/maintenance.
- Carole (10/5): Great stay - Thu
is
This was a great place to stay, close to the train station and downtown. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - god beliggenhed. Kun 5 min til fods til centrum
- David (10/5): Great little flat. - Great little flat. Fantastic keycode system for main entrance and each room. No need for check in.
Nice comfy bedding with a good heater in the bedroom which heats up very quickly.
- Robert (8/5): - Great location for St Lukes
- Susan (8/5): Return visit - Lovely stay , sorry it was only overnight as No52 is so comfortable , clean & convenient
- Jae (8/5): A nice home away from home. - This was a nice, cosy flat in a quiet area of the city. We were a party of 2 adult males so it was nice being able to stay in a one bedroom flat that allowed us separate rooms. It was convenient having a full kitchen available to us.
The good parts:
Very spacious and cosy, very clean, quiet area, very private.
The not so good parts:
The floor was very squeaky (but that probably can't be helped).
The flat is not very central, but still in walking distance (15-20 mins).
Overall I found it to be good value for money and would recommend it. I would have no problem staying here again.
- KEITH (10/5): Again an excellent stay in an historic property - The apartment was clean, tidy and spacious. Once again an enjoyable stay.
- Anna (10/5): Highly Recommend! - Beautiful property, building and room. Updated fixtures and furnishings and very clean. Caroline and her husband were super sweet and the breakfast was very high quality. Located a bit of a walk to the main hub of Inverness shopping, but worth the stay. Highly recommend!
- Joanne (10/5): Beautiful apartment - Beautiful apartment close to city centre. Very modern and well maintained.
- Sharon (10/5): Comfortable accommodation. - Enjoyed our short stay here. Good communication with owners / staff and registration process was easy. Access to accommodation and car park was clearly explained.
- Jennie (10/5): Great find! - Stayed here with my sisters as we were going to a gig at the Barrowlands. It was so central to all the amenities and a 3 minute walk to the Barrowlands!
- Greg (8/5): Perfect for Barrowlands - Lovely apartment in an old house. We only stayed one night for a concert nearby and this was a perfect location. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the beds were clean and comfy. The only negative is the bathroom which is quite worn and dated but still functions perfectly
- Alex (6/5): Celine Trip - An old character filled building with some lovely features. Could do with some improvement and upgrade particularly to shower facilities. Be warned the front of the building does suffer from traffic and pedestrian noise. But this did not stop me having a good nights sleep.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Look elsewhere, very overpriced for the value. - Not worth the money at all. Nice location. Staff was friendly. The beds were the cheapest one could possibly buy. They were two singles pushed together that split apart during the night. The towels were the cheapest one could possibly buy and were more like large hand towels. They didn't provide soap or shampoo. They over charged us, not the price stated on Hotels.com. This is not a hotel. And it's not worth the price they are charging. Also note the check-in hours...not professional.
- bloody_belter (10/5): spot on! clean and comfortable. lots of space. - perfect place to stay. close to centre. would stay again. we had a belter while we were in Glasgow. so will be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location and size - This large flat has an amazing location with friendly and helpful staff. However the flat could do with modernising, it was fine for a 2 night stay but the bathroom is somewhat aged with a low pressure shower, and a significant draught came from the windows.
- Cordelia (8/5): Apartment in historic building - My husband and I stayed one night during a recent trip to UK. Host has only had this historic property for a short time. The kitchen is very modern; however no tea or coffee or other supplies were provided. Bathroom needed work. This property has lots of potential but the value was the least of our 21 day trip. We stayed in less expensive places that were much better supplied.
- Andrew Blair (2/5): Do Not Stay Here - Single worst travelling experience. Arrived to a locked door and no after hours access information. A doorbell that did not answer, a phone number that was left ringing. Had to find last minute alternative accommodation. A phone call or email would have been appreciated. No apology and a hefty bill that followed. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
- Wisia (10/5): Great city centre outskirts character apartment - Beautiful apartment just on the edge of the city centre.
Takes just a few minutes walk to get to the city and within walking distance of pretty much all the major tourist attractions and sites.
Travelling as mother and daughter, the apartment had a double sofa bed and double bed so we both had a lot of room. We were on the top floor but be aware that there isn't an elevator so anyone with difficulty walking should request a ground floor apartment.
The characterful apartment had everything we needed including an iron and ironing board. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed and we managed to cooked our meals in most evenings to save a few pennies.
The apartments can be somewhat noisy but only in the sense of other tenants arriving and leaving the other apartments (the doors can be quite loud and the air flow may shake your apartment doors which can wake you).
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A home from home. Lots of room and easy to come and go as we pleased. Perfect location.
The only let down was the check-in charge of £10. This is charged if you arrive after 7pm, it would be nice if like most hotels and apartments that this wasn't the case unless it was a late night charge after around 10/11pm where it would be understandable.
But all in all we love it and my Mum was so happy and comfortable.
- colin (10/5): Oldest listed building this side of glesga - Upon arriving we met with bob a charismatic character that had myself and another guest settled in in to time took us through everything contact number and then left a beautiful apartment for myself and three friends to stay in the accomidation looks to be 6 flats in what I can only class as a converted mansion very clean also 10/10 il be booking this accommodation time and again
- Sunny (10/5): Fantastic apartment style stay - This was a perfect home from home. 10 mins walk to the centre. Excellent WiFi. Great heating. Highly recommended
- Heather (8/5): This is amazing value. - An apartment in Glasgow at the price of a room. Make sure you ring the number before checking in so you coordinate to be let in. Great location and fantastic amenities. My room had a problem with being serviced and was not ready for me but they quickly rectified that.
- Catherine (8/5): convenient hotel - week away to attend a couple of functions in the city. able to park the car and walk to most places we wished to visit.
- Dieter (8/5): Vier Tage in Glasgow - Kein Hotel sondern Appartements. Zimmer von der Ausstattung und Größe OK. Wz, Sz, Küche und Bad.
W-Lan vorhanden. Preis-Leistung OK.
- V & D (4/5): Time travel - What a transportation back the 1950s Glasgow. It could be charming in an old-fashioned way but instead it’s tired, sad and unloved. The apartment is basic and dated. The beds are cheap and uncomfortable. The living room curtains don’t have ties to keep them open. The staff that agreed to our late check-in a week prior were incredibly rude on our arrival. We paid an additional ‘night porter’ fee, only to be made to feel that we were an inconvenience.
We travel to Glasgow often and 52 Charlotte Street is the worst place we’ve stayed and we’d not book again or recommend. It’s a pity as the building itself is very beautiful and the location is great. Would love to see this in different hands as it has a lot of potential.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not really a hotel but is roomy apt. - We enjoyed our accomodations but this is not a hotel. This is more like renting an apartment on a temporary basis or for a short stay. 6 apartments in building and no hotel staff. There was no one at the building when we arrived and the email that I had responded to with our arrival time had not been received? We had to call and wait for someone to let us in which was a bit stressful as we were exhausted and waiting in the rain. Once checked in we found the apartment great on 2nd floor. There are no elevators so heavy luggage could be a challenge. it was nice to have wifi and the space plus good TV channel choices plus fridge and kitchen. we were glad we made this choice compared to staying in a tiny hotel room.
- Christy (8/5): Unexpected nice stay - Very helpful and willing to go that extra mile for their guests
Was amazed at how much space you were getting for a great price Floors were a bit creaky and doors swung shut unless wedged but it is an older building with some nice period original touches Will definitely stay again - hopefully for a longer time as ideal for merchant city and exploring Glasgow
- Chris (10/5): Travelers from the US - We were in town for sightseeing and to attend the world bagpiping competition. The location was perfect as it was less than a block from the entrance of the Glasgow Green. The house was clean and comfortable. The host met us with our key and instructions.
- ronnie (10/5): Comfort and Cleanliness - From the moment we arrived we were happy with the accomadations. Very clean and comfortable. Wonderful neighborhood and convient location to central Glasgow. We would reccomend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the wonderful city of Glasgow.
- Barbara (10/5): Great Accommodations for the price. - This is a full scale apartment with living room, bedroom and kitchen equipped with all cooking needs and even laundry which came in very handy. It is close to the Hop-on Hop-off bus stop. The view is not great but the value makes up for that.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Gem of a building - Just a short stay of one night as I was in Glasgow to explore art galleries for the weekend. This house is a gem of a historical building and a bit of an unexpected find. I prefer unique places to the corporate sameness of hotel chains so this 1 bed self-catering flat suited me very well. Nice to have a bathtub (though it has a shower over). The very kind housekeeper who was there to let me in totally unexpectedly popped out to get me a pint of milk - it's these small but significant touches that make a difference so thank you very much
- Andrew (10/5): Worth the money - Booked it for a concert and it served the purpose well.
