- Benedicte (9/5): I had a relaxing, comfortable stay. - The building is attractive with common areas in the open air but protected from the elements. It is an older, stately type of building that is comfortable. They could have better coffee, more information about the city (pamphlets and maps) and about the neighborhood.
- Andrew (8/5): Lovely little guest house away from the main river. - Location was where I needed it. Friendly staff even with little English. Arranged taxi to airport for me. Very low English if the boss isn’t there. You have to leave your shoes outside the whole property, not just the room. It is noisy as there is a temple next door that bangs drums at 4am daily plus lots of motor bikes and construction. But that last part is all of LPB. Bring ear plugs and you’re set. No hot water kettle in the room for making tea or coffee.

- Andrew (10/5): - Such a lovely place to Stay. On south bank of river away from centre so super quiet. Bit of a problem until river works finish next month as no bamboo bridge. This normally makes 10 walk in to centre. At moment its 30 mins using the old bridge or a boat service that does save much time.. Great breakfast..Nice residental area.
- Penelope (8/5): Lovely helpful staff. We felt safe and happy. I went outside early one morning and the monks sang - Staff were great! People from around the world come back each year. Kim -- the manager went out of his way to help us find drivers etc. He even delivered us to the airport with a smile. we hated to leave. Construction in the neighborhood was noisy. I expect that the construction is completed by now.
- Emma (10/5): Calm and lovely place - We had a wonderful stay! The hotel was pretty, clean and situated in calm surroundings and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. They served a delicious complimentary breakfast of our own choosing. The only small downside was that it was a bit far to walk to the city center since the bamboo bridge was closed due to construction. The bridge, however, will return but actually we didn’t mind the walk. Huge recommendation! If you’re planning on going to Luang Prabang and would like to get a bit away from the hectic city center this guesthouse is worth considering!
- Stacy (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (10/5): Guesthouse - My friend and I needed a place to stay for two days until our flight. This guesthouse was very comfortable with two twin beds, en suite, dresser, tv, fridge and ac to use as required. Price was very reasonable. Yard and hotel very picturesque , beautiful woodwork throughout. And very friendly and helpful people. I loved it and would come back .
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - A very peaceful and relaxing stay in a lovely guesthouse. The owner and his family were extremely welcoming and so helpful. You have to get a boat to the town centre, it only costs 10k kip so not that much of an issue really. Otherwise it's a 2km walk.
- Roxann (8/5): - We liked how quiet it was, but it was quite far from town to walk. You paid extra if you wanted breakfast. But we have more fun eating in town. At times, the lack of english was a bit of a problem, but if the owner were there, it was easy. We stayed 4 nights and they cleaned the room after the third night. Nice people.
- Nazrina (10/5): Amazing place to visit, in Luang Prabang - The owner is the best care taker you can imagine. Even my husband gave a gift to him a book written by his late mother during her visit in 1968, 1975 and 1978 in Laos. Also after Mr Khamphone drove us to the airport in Luang Prabang, the mobile phone of my husband was found and returned back by the lady air port staff with amazing gesture and politeness. Luang Prabang is one of our favourite place to visit. Thank you the owner; Mr. Khamphone🙏 No halal food🙏
- Mark (10/5): Nice guesthouse - Overall, I really enjoyed to stay guest house. Owner Sam and all staffs , especially front desk day time young man who can speak little English and Chinese. Owner Sam who has been USA for 10 years so he really have common sense for service. Thank you all! khobchai!
- Apl (2/5): - Bad location, no black out curtain as indicated in website, noisy, the room is dark and smelly, the toilet is not convenient.
- Jane (4/5): - Location is not super - it takes 30 minutes to walk to the city center and in the area around the hotel there are no (western minded) restaurants.
My room had a window facing a wall with dark shutters in front - so the room was depressing dark with bad lighting.
Very noicy - you could clearly hear people (talking, laughing, closing doors etc) all the time (both staff and guests).
- Nerly (10/5): - Even though it was a little far off I honestly have to say that I was pleased here. Everybody is nice. The room was always clean and the fan and AC superb. This is a guesthouse that o would definitely return to when I visit Laos again.
- Blanche (8/5): Very good - Clean and nice property! Staff is very available to help out, too. It is very far away from the center, as there is no bridge to cross directly to the night market and main attractions…
- kurt (8/5): - Chinese tour groups make a fair amount of noise when they come and go
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Lo (8/5): - All the staffs are nice and helpful
- daniel (10/5): - Excellent property and staff in quiet part of town
- Paul (10/5): - I always stay at this guesthouse - quiet, convenient, very clean.
- Sage (10/5): - Such kind and beautiful host’s. Very very helpful… Beautiful guesthouse. Highly recommended. Loved my stay there
- Mouayni (8/5): - This is a quaint and quiet property. It only has two stories. It's nicely decorated with succulents and has a dining area separate from the main building. The rooms are decent but a little tight for two twin beds. Some fruit flies or some types of flies stayed in the bathroom even though we tried to eliminate them. Overall, this property was worth the stay and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to stay in LP but not where are the tourists are.
- Elisa (6/5): - Nice staff and good service. Was not impressed by the cleaning. The add says that the guesthouse is only 500m from nightmarked. This is not true. The guesthouse is 500m from the city in air distances, but since it’s above the river, you have to walk all the way around, many 30min walking. The bamboo bridge do not exist and we had to pay a lot for taxi.
- Jess (6/5): Nice stay - Staff were very friendly, breakfast available, rooms were nice, bathroom slightly dated but overall not too bad. Only inconvenience is that it takes longer to get across the river to the night market ect. As the bridge that was originally there has now collapsed. Hotel offers free push bikes to get around but still takes about a 30min walk instead of the 7min walk that was advertised. Other than that, lovely stay!
- Sam (8/5): Very good -
- Eleanor (10/5): short and sweet - the staff were really friendly and helpful. good location and nice hotel in general lack of toilet roll
- Zoe (8/5): - Really lovely owner who took us to the airport as he was already due to pick someone up. Room was quite small but sufficient for a few days, and clean. Good air con. Quiet. Some smells coming in from outside as we were the last of the block like sewage and burning but not the fault of the hotel.
The boat ride across to get into town is very easy, 10000kip pp. It's a couple minutes from the hotel. Goes 10-10 daily. Don't have to wait long.
Overall good value for money.
- Caoilfhionn (8/5): Very good -
- Isa (8/5): - Schoon hotel, prima kamer, aardig personeel.
- Mirelys (10/5): - Fast checking, properly offer breakfast and shuttle to airport available for a reasonable price.
- Tim (8/5): Friendly and quiet Guesthouse with some small problems. - -Mostly Clean (the bath was Not..)
-Breakfast was fast and much (Coffee did not taste good. Switched to black tea)
-The area is nice and mostly quiet.
-Staff is friendly -Bathroom stinked a bit...
-Staff couldn't speak much english. It was a bit hard to communicate sometimes.
-We tried to book several tours and transfers through reception. we had to remind them severall times about our plans and we soon got the feeling that If we had not reminded them, they would have forgotten...in the end all went well.
- Elle (9/5): Fabulous - Really comfortable bed, very clean, good location. lovely host, very helpful
Top adres.
- Garry (8/5): Staff were very accommodating. Airport pick up is a great feature. -
- Ian (10/5): - Really friendly and helpful staff.
- Gijs (10/5): Exceptional - Very helpful staff, checked if everything was OK and brought us to the airport.
Nicely decorated room and bathroom (everything working well, best shower in Thailand so far!)
Location quiet, close to the airport and to the old town via a scenic 2 minute boat trip of 20 bath 😀. Nothing
- Hmoobtsaablady (9/5): Maybe. - The staff was really nice. Size of the room and bathroom was good. Location, far from everything.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (6/5): Average. Poor location - Average at best. Not convenient location at all, have to walk to a boat to get across the water and into town. No bamboo bridge. Nothing else really in the area apart from one restaurant.
Hotel and rooms a bit rundown, towels very old. 4 nights and only had room cleaned once.
Does not live up to the reviews or the rating
- Dianne (5/5): On one hand, ok; on the other, MEH! - The owner, Mr Kim, was very helpful; he allowed me to use his printer to print copies of my Cambodian visa, and offered to drive me to the airport, a short drive. Issues with the room(s). I stayed only one night. In the first room the AC was not working so after some insisting that I need AC at night, I was switched to another room. In the second room the shower wasn't working. I don't know whether these two incidences just happened or whether nobody else had brought the issues to Mr Kim. (Sometimes I feel that guests don't mention problems, that they can't be bothered to complain). In the morning I went back to the original room to have a shower.
In the second room there was no TV reception, not a big deal if you are travelling with your own technology, but if it's advertised it should work!!
I asked for a room on the ground level, both rooms were dark, not well lit.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Blaise (10/5): Clean, comfortable, very friendly. Great value. - We enjoyed staying on the far side of the river from town. Very quiet and relaxing. Exceptionally clean guest house which is a very good value for the money.
The staff could not be more accommodating or friendlier. Really, really wonderful people.
- Ian (7/5): ok. quiet location on wrong side of river. room clean cosy comfortable. good value, - breakfast not included. room small for couple plus baby. very clean and comfortable. fridge a bonus. no kettle. wrong side of river from town. no bridge yet, so used ferry regularly 10000 kip per person. staff not around very much after breakfast.
- MEITETSU (8/5): - great
- Alexander (8/5): - Staff were wonderful, helpful. Having access to a loaner bicycle was nice. Internet access fine. Breakfast choices yummy :-)
- My only complaint would be old TV, poor reception
- Michael (9/5): Good hotel with lots of amenities and free bike rental, in quiet area - Nice hotel, well equipped, in a quiet area on the other side of the Nam Khan river. The owner and the other staff were very firendly and helpful, there was free bike rental so it was easier/quicker to get to the historic centre. The area around the guesthouse itself is very quiet, there are common areas in the hotel where you can sit, read/use wifi in the shade and there is one of the best restaurants of the city (Dyen Sabai) just around the corner.
- Florian (10/5): - I had a comfortable stay. The owner, Mr. Kim, is very helpful and he makes sure that the guests are well assisted.
- Martina (8/5): Great place! - Great stay, staff were always helpful. Convenient location. Would recommend it!
- Sophie (8/5): Nice place - It was a good stay, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is ok but you have to cross the river to go downtown it’s 10k each person to take the boat and it takes 1 minute to cross. If you have a scooter is around 7-8 minutes. The owner helped us to rent a scooter for a fair price. Its a very quiet area so its good to rest. The only star missing is that the bed is not very comfortable.
- King (1/5): Bad - Staff Bed bugs in our room. Luckily they didn't get in our bags.
- Ben (2/5): Very poor -
- Radu-ionut (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glen (10/5): - Nice gardens lovely people beautiful house close to town!! pillows and towels could do with review only complaint
- Adam (7/5): Good - Nice location outside of the hustle and bustle of town but double check the status of the bamboo bridge. It was out when I arrived and a couple of kids were making good money ferrying passengers across by boat, but occasionally they weren't there or the boat wasn't working and it's a really long walk or tuk tuk around. The room I had was ground floor in the back and between the people walking above me, no open view out the window, and the low dark room I felt very claustrophobic. The internet was terrible and it was much better to rely on my cellular data which was a drag since I had an important business meeting. They require you to leave your key at the desk when you leave and close the gate at 11pm and I found myself rushing back hoping the boat ferry was still operational. I ended up cutting my stay short without a refund to move across the river.
- Mitch (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dino (10/5): Exceptional - Such kind and friendly staff, great energy all around. Room spacious and clean, all was good!
- Renate (9/5): Superb -
- Dorothy (9/5): Quiet riverside guesthouse with lovely staff. - Quiet location in artisan quarter - near jewellery-making, wood-carving shops. Getting back over to central LP involves a boat at 5000 Kip or half hour walk via a steel frame bridge. Kind and courteous staff.
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
- Marius (9/5): Such a great place to stay in Luang Prabang. - Super comfortable place, really good value! The bathroom could use a few repairs and a bit of an upgrade.
- Erick (10/5): nice quiet hotel, closest bridge is for motorcycles, bikes & pedestrians only - good room with TV, English news, desk, good wifi long, steep steps up & down to boat to get across river to center of town
- Marc (8/5): - Lovely older French colonial building, clean rooms, friendly staff. The only downside was a terrible shower. The bamboo bridge has been taken down so you need to get a small ferry across. Not a problem except early morning not in service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, friendly staff, great service
- Joshua (8/5): Very good - Great staff, very helpful This isn’t the hotels fault but the bridge has washed away so you have to pay for a boat back and forth (5000) there is a bridge but it doubles the journey into town
- Pardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nevy10 (8/5): Very good -
- Johnewild (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vivien (8/5): Calm and quiet hotel - We only spent here one night, which was very calm and quiet! Staff was very kind. We would recommend it! As everyone said before you have to cross and pay for the bamboo bridge! But it was a fun experience tho, and the hotel’s price is still very cheap (including the bridge fee).
- Christi (10/5): - Great location away from the craziness of the main area of town. This also means a walk to get to the tourist area. The closest bamboo bridge was down. I liked the extra walk.
The Guesthouse was clean, quiet, comfortable and quaint. I loved it!
- Benoit (8/5): Very good -
- Ivo (8/5): Very good - A good location, if you don't mind crossing the bamboo bridge each time you go to town. In a quiet area.
The pricess are good.
- Françoise (10/5): - W
- Andrew (10/5): - I review this property before but for just 1 night. This is now a further 4 nights. The place is very well located for town subject to the Bamboo bridge being there out of rain season. The staff are excellent and speak enough English to get things done well. Rooms are clean and if at the back beautifully quiet.
Breakfast is great, Baguette and your choice of eggs, and a fruit plate, plenty of coffee and Tea. Oh and only 2 miles from the airport, in a residential area. Overall great stay.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great place to stay, no distance to all the action via the bamboo bridge in dry season. Comfy beds and good shower. Good breakfast. So Quiet. The neighbourhood is residential to rural there qte a few restaurants nearby and shops and a laundry.
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Francisca (8/5): Very good - The noodle soup in the breakfast was amazing, full of flavor.
Everything was nice, the staff was good, even tho their english wasn’t the best.
Location is good, is fun to go through the bamboo bridge. Bed was a bit hard, very much like the rest of asia.
- Germeraad (8/5): Good but definitely not great. - Overall a well kept property. WiFi was very spotty. A few staff seemed inexperienced making check in, payment, check out a little challenging. We didn't fully feel welcomed.
- Estelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- lingyun (10/5): Helpful - If you want to visit waterfall, the best way let owner to book for you. The price is reasonable.
- Alison (7/5): comfortable place for a quick overnight before leaving town - Luang Prabang is a hideously tourist-infested town that travelers looking for a more relaxing experience should leave as soon as possible. Phonepraseuth guest house is well situated to do just that. It's about 20 minutes walk from the northbound bus station, and a bit over 30 minutes walk from the airport. Because it's across the river from the main tourist drag, it is slightly less depressing to walk around in the vicinity of the guest house, although the handful of nearby noodle places aren't open early if you want to get something to eat at the crack of dawn. On the up side, the room is comfortable, and they provide a little sachet of shampoo to wash your hair, which most places outside of the tourist center do not. Also there is a small market nearby where you can buy some supplies in relative peace (compared to other side of the river). It's mildly annoying that you have to pay a bridge toll every time you cross into town and come back. The amount of money is negligible, but it feels a little bit like fleecing to have to pay once if you cross the bridge in the morning and then pay again if you cross in the afternoon. Not really the fault of the guest house, though.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Visay (8/5): need all new clean towels otherwise bring your own. - location and clear .
- lee (10/5): - Very quiet area opposite side of river than main city but only short walk.
Very welcoming nice people run this place.
Recommended peaceful guesthouse.
- Anja (7/5): Good -
- Robert F (10/5): - This was a perfect 3 week stay for a very reasonable price. The room, location, breakfast and incredible staff made our stay both memorable and noteworthy. The owner manager treats you like family and we thoroughly appreciated it. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.
Robert
- XAVIER (8/5): - Excellent accueil. Guesthouse charmante.
