Guest Reviews
- JDSB66 (6/5): Comfy warm and functional - This is a throw back to lockdown. Book online, no reception or checkin all done by text and key lockbox. No good for disabled access.
The room was comfy and warm, with the usual iron, hairdryer, tea coffee etc. new or newish . The bathroom was a little dated.
No food / hotel restaurant is available, but a tescos express up the road and an Indian down the other way. I'd actually not bother with the Indian, not great.
- Inspire37687808358 (10/5): Above and Beyond. - The rooms were great and the location is excellent. In addition we left a valuable bracelet by mistake in the room. The item was handed in to lost property and the manager, Kieth very kindly posted it back to us. Fantastic!
- derbysteve (8/5): Lovely budget hotel - This is a really nice hotel. It is very handy for the centre of Lancaster, with the railway station only a brisk 5-minute walk away. Less than that to the castle and the staff are extremely friendly.
The room was delightful, very clean, nicely appointed. Excellent lighting and with things you wouldn't necessarily expect to find, such as an ironing board and iron, as well as a hair dryer. A lovely bath room was appreciated and the place was pleasantly warm with easily adjusted heating.
I have deducted a mark because there is a noisy road below the room and this went on into the night, even though I am a deep sleeper.
But for a nice room on a budget you would struggle to do better than this.

- GuyRopeTrip (4/5): Unsuitable for business travel - I stayed here for business after it appeared as an option through our corporate booking system. I was not provided with the self-service booking in instructions so I had to phone to gain access - there is no reception and no staff on site.
Having got in, it was sooo hot! There is little ventilation and not much insulation. It is in quite a noisy location and so propping open the door was a poor option because the door opens directly onto the outside world.
The door opening directly onto a secluded space outside makes this accommodation unsuitable for lone female travellers.
There are no facilities whatsoever and hardly anywhere nearby open at 7am to purchase breakfast.
On a positive note, the bed was comfy. And it’s a short walk from the railway station.
- CatherineB896 (6/5): All looked good but no ventilation - Right place, clean, tidy, comfortable bed, plenty of coffee, tea etc BUT absolutely no ventilation at all, windows unopenable and bathroom fan not operating. Plug in fan supplied in the room was too noisy to use, so all in all a pretty uncomfortable experience. Sad to say we couldn't get out soon enough due to the extreme stuffiness in a relatively small room.
- Beech0 (2/5): An unjust business, rude and disrespectful. Just after money - I accidentally selected the wrong dates with crows hotel via booking.com, they charge full amount at time of booking, I realised afterwards and tried cancelling the booking, calling the hotel and explaining my mistake, and the operations manager there rudely and arrogantly dismissed my request, ignored my emails, and declined my refund.
The operations manager ignored all my emails, and made it a point to only call me, and abuse me for threatening to review. Still didn’t prompt crows hotel to offer a partial refund though, which boggles the mind.
I accepted my mistake and asked for a partial refund minus a cancellation fee, but he continued to insult my intelligence by saying it’s the consequences of my mistake. It was a sleazy money grab by crows hotel, this action was highly unreasonable and poor business practice. As a result, it put me off land caster all together, and I decided not to visit Lancaster at all, and nor will I ever. A disgrace to say the least and very dissappinting.
- F6138KXgaryf (10/5): Ideal hotel - Great location. Amazing bath. Customer service was great. Little issie with TV however as was a Sunday wasn't alot could of been done . Will be back in future . Right in the town centre and everything u need 2 minute walk away. Pubs shops and the canal
- X4753BYjasona (10/5): Another great night in Lancaster - Great hotel with a fantastic location for exploring Lancaster, for me personally one of the best kept hotels I've stayed in.
Comfy beds, clean bathrooms with great showers, if you find something wrong here then your the problem not the hotel😁
- H3925UTmichaelt (10/5): Short but stunning stay in a cute studio for 2 - A beautiful little studio room. Exactly as described, and just what we needed to relax for the evening before continuing our drive north to Edinburgh early the next day. We would definitely stay in Crows Hotel again if it suited our plans to visit our daughter up in Scotland. If we could plan an earlier arrival, we'd take advantage of some of the lovely looking cafes, bars, and restaurants located nearby.
- simongS7745KM (10/5): An enjoyable stay. - Friendly and helpful staff. Bedroom and bathroom very clean, bed nice and firm. Thank you for an enjoyable experience. Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the train station and very close to Lancaster Castle, museums, shops, restaurants and pubs.
- 390xuez (10/5): Terrific experience - The house is extremely cozy, with a well-designed kitchen and bedroom layout. The bed is exceptionally comfortable. Located right in the city center, it's incredibly close to the train station. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.
- Bigste1962 (10/5): Oldies Lancaster Weekend - Great location within the city, bars & restaurants close by & very handy for the train station
Staff were very friendly & accommodating ensuring our luggage was placed in our rooms once ready.
Rooms are easily accessible, spacious & well equipped.
- K8233EUstevef (10/5): Outstanding value for money - Brilliant place, right in the heart of town, clean as a whistle, well appointed and great communication, everything was made easy and we would definitely stay there again. 10/10 It wants me to lengthen this to 200 characters, so I did, but you can ignore this bit.
- barbaradS1433NH (10/5): Good all round stay - Very Central in the lovely city of Lancaster. Room was warm and had everything you would need for a city break. We would stay again. We were able to come and go with no fuss. Lovely shower in the ensuite. The bed was very comfortable and plenty pillows made for a good night's sleep.
- S2138BEgailc (10/5): Excellent - Excellent value for money. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Very clean, comfortable and everything needed in the room. Would recommend as it’s in the City, shops, Restaurants and entertainment on your doorstep. Restful sleep in comfy bed, Refreshed for the next day
- Brownbomber61 (10/5): Great base for a Lancaster city stay - Lovely comfortable and nice sized room. Excellent bathroom and shower. Easy check in and out, very convenient.
Great location for the city centre and a short walk from the station.
It was my second time at this hotel and I will definitely stay again when I’m next in Lancaster.
- Victoria (8/5): - Really good location right in the centre, lovely warm room and good shower, three separate beds so great for families with older children. Shower could have been more powerful and the communal access to all room keys felt a bit off putting. Lovely staff and nice and clean.
- katers85 (10/5): Cosy stay in a nice spacious room . - Nice cosy room, in good location, it was clean and had everything needed. The room has nice features, like the beams and modern yellow decor. It was a great size. I was a solo traveller and I felt this was a perfect hotel. Nice tea and biscuit area in room! The staff were helpful and check in was easy, staff also helped me book another night when my trains were cancelled due to storm. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend to others.
- Gary2445 (10/5): Great room great location - The location is perfect for the centre, the room was clean and spacious fitted to a high quality, desk and tea/ coffee . You can obtain your key at any time or go to the front desk during office hours, really friendly staff to help. There are a selection of cafes just a few meters away left and right for breakfast, Great place to stay I will be back.
- Debbie (10/5): - Lovely room with huge bed and big TV. Great shower too. No complaints. Would definitely use again.
- 629gaylek (10/5): Fabulous weekend break - Centrally located ,close to railway station ,shops and restaurants with spacious comfortable rooms and bed, slept really well ,minimal traffic noise. Rooms were spotlessly clean .Easy self check in and was able to park up to drop the bags off .
- gwenmullan (10/5): Central, modern clean hotel - Found this Gem of a hotel in Lancaster. It is situated on an ideal area. Close to shops and restaurants. Room was very clean and modern. I would definitely recommend and I most certainly would stay here again. We didn't opt for breakfast, but it was exactly what we needed. Very accommodating with parking solution too. Thank you, hopefully stay here again 🙂
- Bob (6/5): - Radiator didn’t work in bathroom and noisy
- stubbsyt2020 (10/5): Lancaster Music Festival weekend - Really great location, good service and very helpful, looking forward to booking again.
Perfect stay for taking in some of the acts and performances during the music festival weekend, Lancaster was a perfect place for a break, good food and good pubs
- chrispW7422MZ (10/5): The ideal spot. - The place was perfect, rooms so clean and tidy. All the info sent in advance of the trip and so simple and easy to access the property when we arrived. Perfect location and within walking distance of the bars and restaurants. Will defo be back again in future. Thanks 👍🏻
- trevorstannes (10/5): Lovely weekend - Great property ideal location in the hub of the city good food close and great pubs rooms are great shower was very powerful bed so comfy it's a really good property to stay in can't recommend this enough ideal for weekends away or business trips
- JOHN1873 (10/5): Great night stay - We had a great 1 night stay here, ideally situated in city centre near everything, on arrival easy check in and room was spotless and very modern. Bed was very comfortable and lovely big shower all in all it is great place for a short or longer stay would definitely return.
- normane2019 (8/5): Pleasant - The place was comfortable and very clean
Also convenient location if you want to explore Lancaster and the surrounding area. Easy process for picking up the keys. There is off road parking available. No hassle with booking or checking out. I can recommend to friends.
- Roger (8/5): Does the job - Clean and well located spot in Lancaster, more suited to business travel or cheaper budgets - not a room to spend time in, but handy access to the city
- Stuart (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff, nice pool and sauna.
- Rodolfo (4/5): - Staff does not exist, everything is by phone, check in getting your key from a key box, check out letting the key on a key box. No humans around, nor reception, nothing. Rooms are very standard with two big disappointing issues: first, not elevator so stairs; second, rooms on the second floor, as the one we occupied, have an unbearable hot temperature and no air conditionning. WIthout exageration, with 20º centigrades outdoors, temperature in the room was not lower than 30º in mid June, and only a small table fan to go on. Really unacceptable. If you are thinking in going on summer, just discard the idea of staying here.
- Anna (6/5): Nice place, a little noisy - The room was nice, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that my room was very noisy because it overlooked a main road in Lancaster.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large spacious room(we had 3 single beds) with good size bathroom. Clean, tidy and neat. Just off the main road. No noise disruption.
2 things. Keys to rooms are available to all who stay there, as the key box stores keys for all the room. Room had a velux window with no blind. So room was bright quiet early.
- David (8/5): Lancaster central location - Good location for us to visit and explore Lancaster.
Very clean safe and friendly staff.
- Laura (10/5): Another great stay at Crows - Comfortable, very centrally located, very nice stay
- Peter (8/5): - Rooms were nice and tidy
- Michelle (6/5): - Comfortable and clean enough, but in room 6 the noise from the traffic was horrendous, no let up for the 2 nights we stayed... it has secondary double glazing due to the old sash windows, it could do with being replaced... would stay again but would ask for a room round the back. Excellent location for the train station, the pubs, restaurants and shops.
- A (6/5): Great for couples - Didn't have breakfast.
The 24 hour check in desk was a box at the back of the hotel.
There was no one on site to deal with issues most of the time.
The room was really nice and warm and a heated towel rail in the bathroom was great.
The shower would not get hot enough for me and could not be fixed another room was offered on the last morning.
Most people would find the shower usable, as I did eventually with the room being so warm.
- Lindsey (10/5): Great night away - Really great location and really comfortable room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was close to the station and convenient for town.
- Mrs SM (8/5): Convenient for short breaks - Self check in worked well. Excellent location for station and town. Comfortable room. Steep stairs, no lift. Road quite noisy but the secondary glazing kept out most of it
- Douglas (10/5): Satisfied customer - Excellent accommodation, close to shops, restaurants and train station.
- emmanuel (8/5): comfortable, friendly, central stay - I very much liked my stay but would have loved it to have included breakfast (even a continental one) for the price. Not having free parking on site was a disadvantage that could be worked round as I was travelling alone.
- Douglas (10/5): Satisfied customers - Excellent accommodation. Comfortable and clean. Self service check in/out. Good location. Close to Train,Bus, Restaurants and shopping.
- Lee (10/5): - Great hotel room only thing that i feel was miss leading is how the hotel stated parking when they didnt have that facility it was a paid car park down the road that was a bit pricey
