Guest Reviews
- Paolo (5/5): Pensavo meglio -
- Carina (8/5): Goed verblijf gehad - Chinees hotel met mooi uitzicht vanuit de kamer. Ruime kamers. Vanuit het hotel is het prachtig wandelen door dorp en omgeving.
- Ni Lar (10/5): -
- Julie (7/5): Great views lovely staff - The views were spectacular and the staff were delightful - good base for local tea plantations. Obviously once quite grand place. We stayed two nights - it can get cold but that’s obvious in the mountains. Faded facilities in need of maintenance in our particular rooms (we had two as the hot water didn’t work in first one) - tap swivelled in sink, broken chairs, doors opening onto balcony need oiling as they squeaked and got stuck. A general upgrade needed.
- Jan Willem (8/5): Gemiddeld - Het uitzicht De ietwat verouderde staat
- Jeffrey (10/5): -
- Agnes (10/5): Recommended. Great stay! - Very friendly staff. Beautiful view. Clean. Nothing
- NG (7/5): - My in law was a vegetarian, ask them to fry the vegetable without fish sauce and the staff said we will have to pay??? staff is rude. lots of stair to climb
- Myriam (8/5): - Chambre sur les hauteurs avec belle vue sur les montagnes. Bon accueil.propre Wifi débit léger mais peut être dû à la montagne. Eau chaude fluctuante en température.
- Steven (8/5): - Excellent view from the room. Good breakfast Rooms are dated but comfortable
- Marta (8/5): Wonderful views. - Mae Salong is a long strip and the Villas is located towards the beginning coming from the east behind a wall; look for the Emerald Tea sign. The road out front was quiet at night. We had a lot of privacy as the surrounding units were mostly vacant. The staff were friendly and responsive. The views from the upstairs unit’s large balcony were expansive and overlooking mountains and tea plantations. There were a couple of sticky spots on the counters, but everything else was okay. If you want a more modern room, there are some bungalows on offer. Where we stayed, the buildings had seen better days, but the original features were nice and it was very quiet.
- Regina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gianmarco (8/5): The perfect stay - Stunning location, very good breakfast included, super friendly staff !
- Andrew (7/5): Good - we had coffee in the room a bonus Very quiet
- Marcel (10/5): Doi Mae Salong ; great views! - The staff was extremely nice, good advices, and friendly. I was here 30 years ago a few times. It was great to talk about those years.
Picture is panorama pic from my balcony Maybe, if you're only interested in visiting the village, which would be a shame, the walking distance to the centre is not for lazy tourists 😉
- Laura (10/5): Amazing view! - The town is small but very cute. The hotel upgraded us and we had the most incredible view of the town, mountains, and tea plantations. The staff was kind and helpful.
- Peter (5/5): Passable - Restaurant was excellent.
The view from room 414 was excellent Bed was small and had its fair to say had seen better days..
Shower provided just acceptable hot water on the maximin setting at the lowest pressure for it to be able to heat it
Most unsatisfactory.
- Sam (4/5): Disappointing - location are great The hotel are extremely unexpected unmaintained, toilet is smelly and the water system is if you turn on the water and you will not have water at shower. You can only turn on one at once. The bed are hard, pillow are not comfortable, the blanket are unable to keep warm during cold season that I went, WiFi unable to connect. They have to do something with their room.
- Elise (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (8/5): Very good - Breakfast like a set of 8 courses meal. Staff are friendly and attentive Heater doesn’t work
- Mikhail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Albert (8/5): Very good - The view is amazing and breakfast much better than expected
- Lean (8/5): Very good -
- Philipp (9/5): Superb - Loved the comfortable chairs on the balcony. So peaceful to sit there, drink a coffee and see the sunrise.
The staff was very friendly and made us feel relaxed. Thank you again for the upgrade :)
- Jeremy (7/5): Mae Salong is a beautiful place to visit. - Big room and amazing views. Breakfast was a little disappointing.
- Elise (10/5): Very good value for money! - Loved the room. So pretty, spacious and clean. We had a fridge, kettle, tv and a desk. The bathroom is good and the bed is very comfortable. The balcony was so nice - with amazing view. We sat here everyday for hours, just enjoying the mountains and tea plantations. The area is very quite and peaceful. The garden is well taken care of, and has a lot of beautiful flowers. Breakfast was good! You can choose between noodles, fried rice, soup and american breakfast. You also get tea or coffee. The hotel restaurant is also open until 20:00, and the food is great. The locations is good - 10 min walk to 7/11 and a few good restaurants nearby. About 20 min walk to the market. The staff is very friendly and helpful - not so good in english, but they do their best and google translate works perfectly. I recommend. Nothing really. But one tip for the staff - having some bycicles for the guest to rent/borrow would have been a great extra service. Thank you for a great stay!
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Yeo (9/5): Superb - Scenic view overlooking the mountain ridges. And also have out motorbikes parked infront of the main entrance within the resort. The resort is kind of dated.
- Warwick (10/5): Exceptional - Good views, good size rooms and very good restaurant. Not much
- Serguei (7/5): Good - It's a decent place for such a remote area.
The view is breathtaking.
When you're happy, such place is very cosy and comfortable :)
- Warwick (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): Incredible view and rooms! Perfect stay! - The owner was really welcoming and friendly and all of the staff were lovely! The room. - wow!! The view was the best view we’ve ever had in a hotel! Just stunning!
The room was beautifully designed with free bottled water each day. The fan worked well and was more than enough - actually not needed at all in November!
The shower was so lovely and hot and the bathroom was beautiful!
We are at the restaurant both nights and the food was superb! And they had some vegetarian options too!
Location was perfect and central for all the sights in this area/
We loved our stay! Thank you so much!

- Alain (8/5): Very good - Very nice staff.
Very beautiful vue Nothing
- Gerard (8/5): Good place to stay for a few days. - Outside the village. Quiet and with good views.
Different types of bungalows or rooms. Friendly staff and good food. Often came with pots of tea (free).
Old building, but in the rooms everything is ok!
Nice area to see tea plantages, mountain views and a long walk to the mountain top via a 700 steps stairways (easy) Nothing special....
There is no real transport after Covid: songtiaws need to be found in advance.
With your own transport it will be easier. Spacious parking lot.
- Martin (9/5): Elegant accomodation - Lovely accommodation in Chinese style. Great food at the hotel restaurant. Our request for an earlier breakfast was not a problem. The staff was really kind overall. We were unlucky with the morning view - a bit foggy. But of course that's not the host's fault :) I guess it's normal due to the altitude.
- Hosokawa (5/5): Passable -
