- Srinivas (8/5): - Great place for the rate.
- Jeff (10/5): A part of the community - I stayed on Fourth of July and they had a nice community fireworks show and everyone was gathered around. The room was clean and quiet ( other than the Holiday celebration.)
- Bill (10/5): - Quick check in and out.
- Cyntia (6/5): - Door in the restroom is bad not really clean
- Cynthia (10/5): - The owners were great.
- Raul (10/5): - Guys who ever needs a great, friendly, peaceful, cozy, and affordable place to stay I’m artesia, Budgett inn is the place to stay. Their rooms are spacious, super clean like mom and grandmas house, and the staff is so welcoming and friendly. The owner Andy is a great hostess and his family are so great to make you feel at home. The place is always nice and quiet and no drama. I can honestly say thee beat hotel for a great rate in artesia. I always stay at the Budgett inn or if they are super booked I go to their family’s second hotel La Hacienda trust book it you won’t regret it. Thank you Andy and your family for always making me feel welcome and comfortable.
- Randy (4/5): - Room had a coffee maker..but, no coffee and no coffee cups. Also no soap of any kind. Very disappointing.....
- Mark (4/5): - We had to stay here due to dust-storm related road closures. The condition of the room was the "minimum we could tolerate. The shower curtain rod was broken and we couldn't get to stay up....it was taped with duck tape and just didn't fit. We were glad to leave this place.
- Raul (10/5): - Owners were awesome and respectful, they attended all my needs definitely staying here again
- David (4/5): - Tiwels had stains , dooelr chain would not reach and there were cloths left in the bathroom
- Fernando (10/5): - Everything perfect, all nice and clean!
- Amara (4/5): - Doesn’t look like photos, weird smell, rude staff
- patricia (6/5): - Comfortable beds, bathrooms needed a little more effort in cleaning
Furniture in the room was torn and stained.
- Marcella (10/5): - Room was clean, good bed
- Keith (10/5): - Very nice Manager!
- Ramon (10/5): Nice - The service was great
- Verified traveler (6/5): A no for me - The owners were very nice. But… it was definitely not a clean or well put together place. I would not stay here.
- Ammee (6/5): - Just ur standard room. No iron or board. No hair dryer. Had coffee maker, fridge/freezer, micro and hbo. Nice bathroom. Nice bed.
- John (6/5): Meh - Room was large and would have been nice except that it had been subject to a poorly done renovation and poor housekeeping. The bathroom had a large hairball stuck to the wall and there was an open electrical box above the mirror that could have been fixed with a $2 blank cover. The bathroom door was impossible to shut because the bottom of the door dragged heavily on the tile and needed to be trimmed. Old worn office chair was the only seating in the room despite plenty of space for a comfortable chair or sofa.
- Kurt (10/5): Great for a budget hotel - This is an economy hotel but the room was clean and looked freshly updated. It was a large room an apartment size fridge and the bathroom was renovated and quite nice. Great hotel for the price.
- Concepcion (10/5): Perfect - Very pleasant for the price. Room was clean. Check in was easy.
- Arnold (6/5): - The staff was not consistent, made me feel unwelcome and unwanted
- Verified traveler (10/5): - H
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room service was nice to have daily
- Anthony (10/5): - Great place for the price but more importantly such great honest people. I left my sunglasses there and called 4days later they had them and they even dropped them off in another city that I was in for my convenience! I’ll definitely go back !
- shirley (6/5): - Old
- James (4/5): - No ice machines
Also had requested 2 beds reservation and called three times to confirm
Yet was still one bed for arrival
2nd night cancelled as they didn't have 2 beds as of checkin for 2nd night
Was very inconvenient and bed also made screening sound as not very solid in structure
You get what you pay for
- Sarah (10/5): - Enjoyed my time there.
- Alfredo (2/5): - Bed bugs at the room
- Alfredo (2/5): - Bed bugs and the service never answered my call to get refund or move to a different room
- patricia (8/5): - Comfortable for the price, compared to others in the area
Clean and quiet, parking is tight, but works.
Water pressure was great.would recommend and stay there again in the futures.
- Spring (8/5): - Newly upgraded room. Better than expected. No dead bolts or extra security locks on doors.
- Jessy (10/5): - Quiet, a lot of working people who go to sleep early
- Srinivas (10/5): - Great place on the cheap
- Iseiris (10/5): - Clean and felt safe
- Tarek Salah Uddin (10/5): - The place was great. The room was clean and well equipped. Me and my wife went there. We loved the place. We initially booked a two bed room. But, the manager of the motel upgraded us to a king bed room and we loved it.
- Waheeb (8/5): - Although I have the wireless password but there was no signal(very week). we were three but had only one cup for coffee. second day no coffee l, no cups !
If you cannot sleep b coz of cars noise ...hotel is located near the highway road, I slept, my wife did not.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was great! Clean and comfortable!
- Christopher (8/5): Ok for price but needs better attention to detail - Paid for two queen beds but got full size. It was a precarious night trying not to roll off. Of the 4 lights in the room only 2 worked & they were weird LED lights that you had to turn on and off a bunch of times to get to work. Door to adjoining room was open (could see right into next room) and did not lock securely so if we had gotten neighbors we would have been nervous about the door opening. Only ice machine on property is broken.
Overall it's a decent place for the price and it was reasonably comfortable. Just attention to detail on the rooms is lacking.
- Diana (10/5): Nice place to stay - The outside looks like the hotel room will be outdated but to my surprise the room was nice and the bathroom was renovated. It very clean. I would highly recommend this place.
- Stevens (6/5): - Room was clean but too pricey and no coffee
Commodity.
- Slade (2/5): - They made the bed but did not change the sheets. Room was musty smelling.
- Lynn (4/5): - This is an older property in an oil field area. They renovated on a show string. The cost was excessive, as there are no amenities whatsoever. They market $52.00 a night; however, the property fee takes this to over $72.00 per night. Loud and rowdy. I slept with the sofa pushed in front of my door. Would not recommend females stay here.
- Lizet (6/5): - Good
- Jeremy (8/5): 4 day stay - Everything worked, staff was very kind and helpful, room was clean and newer than I expected! Not a bad stay!
- Sean (10/5): - Quit
- Susan (8/5): - They are updating the room and our room was nice. Still trim to finish, but great for a weekend . Great price
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No hot water for shower. Coffee maker is not working. Promised breakfast should start at 6 but we couldn’t get it even after 7
- Selena (4/5): - No service very strict not clean blood n bugs n bed blood on walls ask for clean linen never got it
- Sandra (6/5): - Nothing
- Sanya (10/5): - The hotel charges an additional $18 dollar service fee when you arrive.. what it’s for they don’t tell you. If you pay when you get there they also charge an additional $100 deposit. Best option pay on the app so you aren’t charged that $100. The hotel owners are nice - everyone I have dealt with upon check in is really friendly. The rooms are renovated and look really nice.. the beds are comfortable and it’s never dirty or smells bad. The bathrooms have been renovated the showers are very nice. It was very quiet and no one bothered me. The price was a little high once you add in the service fee but over all I would say it’s better than a lot of places that charge more to stay
- Victoria (10/5): - The beds
- Verified traveler (4/5): - None
- Barbara (8/5): Almost a 5 - The room itself was great! Clean, up-to-date but a little scruffy looking, and Quiet! I understand that with the number of people and the cost of keeping furniture updated makes it kind of difficult to keep things top-notch.
In reality, the ONLY negative is the number of times the woman behind the front desk kept telling me about a $200 charge if they found out we smoked in the room.
Yes, I am a smoker. Yes, it would have nice if smoking was allowed. But I'm not a cretin nor am I stupid. I knew the rules about my habit. I also understand that barring the $200 charge if found smoking makes it easier for the owner to rent out a room. I also follow the rules. I am disabled, but not to the point that I couldn't make it outside to smoke (which I confirmed smoking allowed on the property).
The number of times she mentioned this charge is the sole reason for the lowered rating. Had it been a single or even a twice mentioned fee, I most likely wouldn't have even left a review TBH.
I would hope the woman would be updated on just how irritating and unprofessional it made her both sound and look.
- Stephen (8/5): Clean room - Room was clean and recently renovated. No place to hang clothes very small towels. Exterior very hard to park mostly due to junk all over the place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Rooms are updated, but were not clean at all. The pull out couch bed had so much food and bugs inside the cushions and mattress. It didnt include sheets for that mattress. Dead bugs were scattered throughout the floor here and there. The only thing pleasant was the lady at the checkin desk.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not so good
- Lost my reservation. Facility under construction with no breakfast but app said breakfast for 2. Cost not good for value of stay.
- Phyllis (6/5): - The place was clean because they renovated recently. However, there is very limited parking and there are old tables, sinks, etc all around the property. The bed was very comfortable but there were stains on the sheet and pillow case. The shower never got warm. And no hair dryer. He said he hopes to someday offer breakfast but has very little space for that. I was there just overnight and it was a clean, safe place to stay - absolutely no frills.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Its hard to get a parking spot!
- Tom (6/5): Great mangers poor construction work ongoing. - Nite ce management but recent construction was not completed. No grab bars, towel racks or furniture that fit well. Disappointed with site but manager we nice and helpful for what they could do. No parking for handicap.
- Valerie (10/5): - The room was clean and smelt clean. The bed was comfortable my stay was overall well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Too much noise around the motel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Parking was too small
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Parking spaces are too small.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Parking spaces were too small. Need bigger parking.
- James (6/5): - Its was ok it wasnt the best but it got it done
- Victor (4/5): Funny smell? - Well the owner is on site and they are very rude and hateful and had so many rules. Don’t do this or do that they told me. You were not allowed to have visitor's. The room was not very well kept, needed updating badly needed some repairs. The room its self was small. Room had a funky smell to it, non smoking room. Later i realized what the smell was it was a curry smell. The owners are from India. So the room must have been scented in such a way to have that smell. Not the best place I've ever stayed at. Most likely won't come back ever again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I was charged a higher amount than what Expedia quoted me without an explanation. Not sure if it was a parking fee or something else. I never received an invoice either. The office wasn’t manned 24 hours a day so I couldn’t really ask when I checked out either. Cozy room though, only had two towels for four guests the first night. The housekeeper gave us more the next day though. In total it was decent for the price. I don’t expect too much when coming to Artesia anyways.
- Stephen (8/5): Extra cleaning fee - Nice Remodel. Not happy that there is an extra $18 per day clean fee. That is hidden in the pricing. Usually rate +tax is normal but $18 a day is not fair
- Tyrin (2/5): - The room they put me in smelt like sewer, dead bugs everywhere, and the refrigerator was not clean.
- Susan (10/5): - Amazing this place from outside to inside super clean. Rooms are newly remodeled and mattress are so much comfy I slept very good. Internet is fast and quick connected. Shower pressure is perfect. Room has tile floor which is very clean and room lights are so much options it impressed me how such a small hotel keep up property better than any names hotels. I will recommend to all people visiting Artesia stay at this place and you going to agree with my review and yes post review for next guest
- Steve (2/5): - Right out the gate I was over charged almost a hundred dollars. Took three day's to be refunded. On day two of waiting I asked why I hadn't received my refund yet, the desk manager proceeded to insult my intelligence, asking "do you not have brain man, do you not have brain". All the petty aside. The parking was crap, the rooms poorly reflect the pictures *hotel is still currently under construction* I don't suggest #37 if you do stay, the newly renovated room comes with a hard ass bed, paper thin pillows, half of the electric sockets don't work.... annnnnnd there's no latching mechanism to hold the bathroom door closed.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The price you said 55.00 they charged 74.00
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Owner need Change the staff they charge me some estar money just because they want it the invoice said “ misc”
- Will (6/5): - room was newly remodeled, but needed to be buttoned up. The A/C was loud. looked more like an extended stay type of place.
- rebecca (8/5): - Remodeling was nice.
- Arthur (8/5): No pool - I was nice and confy
- Anthony (8/5): Good value - It's a decent place to stay. The room I had was clean. I would've rated it higher, but the bathroom door wouldn't shut correctly. The service was great and the clerk told me about a great restaurant to eat at.
- Andrew (8/5): You’ll be pleasantly surprised - Clean, nice place. Neighbors were loud but to be expected
- Frank (6/5): - I called in advance to notify of late check in. Rang door bell three. times, attendant was asleep, I was tired and needed rest. I did not get an invoice at check in??
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. The only thing negative I experienced was on and off internet connectivity and low water pressure in the show.
- Ashley (2/5): - I will never book here. Everything from start to finish was awful.
- robert (6/5): - Hotel was fine, room was clean and orderly. I was bummed I missed the additional $18.00 “cleaning” fee per room per night. I felt that should have been more clear (just included in total price, not tacked on at check in). Budget Inn suddenly was not so “Budget” when you added that on. Lesson learned, check the small print in your confirmation or when reviewing details before booking.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I stayed there for one night. I'm very disappointed. First, there is a hidden $18 cleaning fees not very obvious from the on-line booking. Second, the room I stayed in has a strong odor and the shower water is lukewarm at best. When I told the owner, he just told me that there was a power outage a few days ago. Not sure why that would cause the water problem. Third, the breakfast is very poor, including only cereal, milk, and juice drink. No egg, yogurt, or even hot water (in the end, the owner had to use microwave to heat water). I definitely would not go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Price was ok I didn't realize they added am extra 18 dollars for "cleaning" each day. Hidden fees.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No network TV. Not very clean. To be fair though, about what you expect from a Budget Inn.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - there was construction going on had all there supplies in the parking spots by the room
- Glenda (8/5): - On our way to Carlsbsd and there were no rooms in our price range. This was fine for one night. There weren't any plugs in the bathroom for hairdryers, etc. There was a pedestal sink, so no counter space.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible experience - There were fleas on the bed, terrible experience.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room cost over 100 dolars and was dirty full of bugs went to fron oficce and toll me i could leave if i wanted and clesed the service win3
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The. bathroom was a bit weird in design, without a door or curtain. And they were doing some construction on the upstairs rooms, so things were messy and noisy the next morning.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - These people are not honest. They will also add an $18 misc fee for cleaning the room. I hope they close there doors and go back to India. The parking is terrible, the office smells like invents and sounds of crying babies and people arguing in the background. The front desk is rude. Room is dirty. Sheets are filthy. The floor is stained. The place is a dump. End of story.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - At first glance when I first walked into my room I could tell that they had done some recent updates but it seems the simple things were missed toilet paper holder was falling out of the wall couple light switch covers were missing lights in the ceiling or just exposed old furniture, had to hold the toilet handle down longer to flush a whole bunch of those little tan Brown bugs and black beetles all over the place shower lifter had to fix myself to get to work the typical issues you run into when it's privately owned. I travel a lot and to be quite honest the simple things is what I'm looking for shower toilet bed cleanliness those are the four main things. Property grounds for atrocious. Truth of the matter is you get what you pay for next time I'll just pay the $200 a night for better accommodations.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Remodeling which is a good thing. Breakfast said to be serves 6 to 9 a.m. At 6:30 still locked up. We have to be on road at 7 a.m. to make it to Carslbad caverens an hour away. Sadly had to go and buy breakfast on way.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room had been recently remodeled and was not ready for human occupancy. There were bugs everywhere. They gave us the worst room in the facility, it sounded like the traffic was coming right thru the room.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The office staff was very nice. The beds were good. We has 4 people and one towel so we had to go ask for towels. I could see that the property has some remodeling going but our room was not one of them. The carpets were old and stained, there were small holes in the curtain, plumbing sticking out the wall from the removal of a sink and cabinet, the chairs were ripped and no plug in the bathroom.
