We had taken 2 rooms and the view wasnt very great. As one side of it is hotel right next to it. So they happily. Shifted the room for us. Though if it gets full. You will end up getting the view of some other hotel window. Still, no complaints… Hotel room is spacious Good service Decent 2/3 options for vegans for breakfast. And Decent pool on the terrace All in all It was a good 2 days and bangla street is right 4 minutes away. 7 minutes to beach vvia bangla street

- kellykerikeri (4/5): I came here with an open mind - I was really looking forward to staying here. We arrived early during a power cut and were allowed to check in straight away, we were “upgraded” but lost our city view and instead looked out at an old man’s condominium who appeared drunk and stumbled around with his doors and windows open so no privacy at all, and we faced appartments and the road on the other side. We had booked twin beds as I was travelling with my adult daughter, we had a king bed which we were told would be made into twin beds at 5pm (this never happened) The power came back on, hooray! As walking up down the stairs to the pool and bar was becoming tiring. The hotel smelt, it was very musty and the bedroom was worse, we turned off the aircon in the hopes it was most likely from the air filters, this helped somewhat, but made it very hot over night. It’s a great location, we enjoyed its proximity to the things we wanted to check out in Patong (we had just left Karon beach) The pool was freezing cold, most people dipped their toes in and screwed up their faces, we braved it, but couldn’t stay in long as our teeth were chattering. Back in our room after dinner down the road we were looking forward to a shower, the showers head was so blocked up it didn’t spray well, not enough water pressure and at its hottest was like warm at best. Time for sleep….. or so we thought, as our upgraded room faced the front of the building, we were kept awake by late night revellers and workers finishing up at all hours and saying good bye and scootering. Eventually around 3am we fell asleep, to be woken by 3.40am to the rubbish truck which stops right outside our window to compact all the streets rubbish for 30mins or so. We were then up at 6am to catch our flight Chiang Mai. Breakfast was available, but being vegatarian meant beans and rice which we weren’t interested in at that time of the morning. I didn’t want to be so critical writing this, but it’s all just the facts, we are very good at going with the flow, and in no way expect perfection, but this was just awful. Sorry to say, I would not recommend this hotel, I feel like I’ve wasted my money

Nice rooftop pool. No sunbeds in the shade which was a problem for me but again not for others. Overall a nice two week stay and recommended to anyone who wants to stay in centre of Patong.
- DaleY792 (10/5): As expected plus some... - I traveled to Phuket from Samui via motorcycle...the last three hours of the trip were in a steady rain. When I arrived, the staff could not have been more helpful in allowing me to check in early and get a hot shower. The on-site laundry service took care of my wet clothes and rain gear by the next morning, as well. Though my stay was short, the staff could not have been nicer. The room was excellent, clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast and fitness room were sufficient. I loved the rooftop pool and bar... It was my first time to Phuket. The hotel's location was...bustling. It was everything I had read about Patong...The Gig Hotel did not disappoint.

- Stephanie (8/5): Central location and amazing rooftop pool - Very central location, few mins walk to the beach, steps from the mall, Bangla Road, night market, and conveniences such as food, laundry, massage, ATMs. The street noise did not bother me. Rooftop infinity pool is the highlight, perfect for a panoramic sunset view. Plenty of loungers available and pool towel provided. Breakfast was convenient, but lacking in quality. Front desk staff were not always helpful. I appreciated the bathrobe and daily bottles of water that were provided. The air conditioning in the room was always on and not temperature controlled, which was too cold for me.

The highlights were the pool, gym and sauna - fabulous vista views of the island. The service desk at the pool were luclustre - often times the bar was serviced by a staff member who didn't smile nor looked approachable. The reception desk was unapproachable at best and the staff looked like they have had enough - didn't wish to be there. My first impression when I got checked in wasn't impressive. The hotel has a fair bit of potential - all the best....

I would recommend this place because it is conveniently located in the local marketplace, Patong Street and Patong Beach, as well as a shopping centre with numerous restaurants.

Everything's so great. Personal Preference - both pillows & bed are too firm to my likining. I highly recommend that the management into upgrading / changing the sunbeds entirely. Handful of them old & dirty. Having said that, The Gig Hotel will be my go-to hotel hereon after! Thank you for the birthday surprise at my doorstep! Kudos to the team!

- MemphisPumkinhead (10/5): Great location and pool - I actually didn’t not choose this hotel before trip. My initial hotel was disguised as hotel by Agoba but was a nasty guys apartment. We refused to stay, so I had to find new one. The Gig Hotel was like a 100 yards away, and what a treasure it turned out to be. The price was amazing for this hotel first off. The room was extremely clean and not old or worn out. The bed is on firm side, but I slept amazing and quick all 11 days. The service was really good at front desk, restaurant, pool, and cleaning crew. No problems or issues. The pool might be best in Patong Beach. It was an infinity pool on roof. The sunsets up there are amazing. We were floored our first visit to pool, and it is hard to put into words. The breakfast buffet has limited choices and short time frame, but menu changes daily. We actually looked forward to breakfast ever morning though. The food was great. The location is as good as it gets. It is literally 100 yards from Bangla Rd, and probably 250 yards to beach. Food choice, massage parlors, and convenience stores even closer. The greatest part is you near the action, but far enough away to feel secluded. The hotel is behind building on main roadway. Truly a hidden gem.

- Michael (10/5): - The Gig Hotel is the best place I’ve stayed at for comfort and accessibility to everything in 14 years travelling through Asia. The staff are extremely polite and helpful and the amenities are awesome. The rooms are a great sized 36 sq metres with big bathroom, cold aircon, fridge, hanging space, electronic safe, gigantic bed and balcony with outdoor furniture. On the rooftop there’s a Huge Crystal clear swimming pool with 360 degree views, decking area, sauna, Pool Bar, Gym, all open early-until late and 2 Very fast elevators. The location is fantastic with the beach less than 10 minutes walk. 5 minutes walk to the Big C supermarket, Jungceylon and Central Malls and 3 minutes walk to Banzaan Food night market and 2 mins to Bangla Walking Street. Surrounded by multiple vendors, restaurants, cafes, pop up markets and convenience stores. Rent a motorcycle outside the building and park in underground security parking. Very quite despite the close proximity to everything with only a little rising road noise which is common. The building is designed with a Atrium void running through the centre from the ground floor foyer to the rooftop which cools down all the open corridors like they were air conditioned. We originally stayed for 7 nights in a seaview room and then extended for another 6 nights and moved to a same sized mountain view corner room with a fantastic rap-around balcony. Definitely 10/10 for the Gig, absolutely loved it and counting the days until our next trip.

- paulsF8587ZC (8/5): The Gig Hotel - We picked the hotel for its rooftop infinity pool which did not disappoint but unfortunately the front desk staff were somewhat cold and the room was a bit of a disappointment therefore only 4 stars. Another gripe was only 2 tiny pillows for a huge king size bed. Don’t be so stingy. Plus in a few places it needed a lick of paint.

- Patrick (2/5): - Location is a minute walk to Bangala Road but the stay was TERRIBLE. First warning was the 2,000THB CASH deposit. And they will use it for ANYTHING!!!! My daughter had a drink spilled on her and stained the sheet just a bit. They charged us 1,400THB for a single old sheet set!!! The bathroom smelled like a sewer, the bed is like sleeping on concrete, the breakfast was not to be consumed, the pool furniture is in need of replacement, multiple people checking out were MISERABLE, and the cops came out for one family. The towels were terrible and I doubt they wash them with soap. Oh, and the best part, you cant flush toilet paper. (Barf) and enjoy the sanitary bags and terrible smells. The lobby is nice, as well as the staff, but all other aspects were terrible. We could not wait to check out and go elsewhere. Spare yourself and stay further than Bangala Rad and enjoy the TukTuk ride!!!

- THOMAS (6/5): Delusions of grandeur - Delusions of grandeur falling short by considerable degree compared to their own rating. Check-in was a joke ..... a long list of "don't do's" and give me passport", "give me immigration card", "give me B1,000" deposit rattled off by three different receptions. Poor quality toilet paper with only an existing part used roll on arrival, no spare. No gel in shower dispenser, only 6 hangers to cover two guests staying 10 days. Room may be large but very limited cupboard space. Small balcony without chair & none available in room. Rowdy behaviour one evening around midnight, lasting over 30 minutes, not addressed by night security. Open plan nature of hotel encouraged mosquitos into room. The only item that was excellent was the extra large bed which was very comfortable.

- Dean (2/5): This is poor management in this hotel - I had issues with my passport in immigration ask they aloud me to enter but retained it to ensure i was going to leave,Meaning now i had no id for checkin and the hotel did not care when i explained this so that night i sleep outside.Hopefully someone from hotels.com reads this review and contacts me
- Newbie (8/5): - Pool view is fantastic. Gym needs updating and maintenance is required on a couple of the machines. They are not lady friendly even though I am booked for two in my room.

- Marco (8/5): Great hotel, great location but WiFi needs improve - Great hotel, clean rooms and excellent area. The only area of improvement is the WiFi. It works fine and speed is acceptable but on has to keep connecting to it, even when one locks their phone
