On check in and through the prearranged stay. The inability to have the pool in use which was a key factor in choosing this hotel for our arrangements .

- Courtney (9/5): - The property was nice! Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good- they had waffle makers which was a nice treat for me- most hotels I’ve stayed at don’t have those. The traffic was pretty bad to get back onto the main road during peak times, but otherwise we had no issues. You couldn’t hear the traffic at the hotel thankfully!

My family was there for 2 nights and every interaction with the front desk girl with no teeth was terrrible. Upon checking in her manager was addressing a complaint in front of me of a current guest. That should have been done in private. To continue on talking about it bashing the guest my whole check in just to me is unprofessional. First night was good. The second day was not. There was a family reunion in town so we had family in town we have not seen in a year. It was my daughter’s birthday so that’s why we were there. We were at the pool and my family met us there to come see us and was confronted at the pool and was asked to leave. There was no other guest in the pool except my 2 daughters and niece who they brought to see us. A total of 6 people in the pool area. We were not loud nor creating any problems just enjoying each others company. I went to the front desk to talk to her and she kept saying no pool parties when that’s not what it was at all. She pulls a sign from behind the desk saying no pool parties no tailgating no grills ext. why is the sign not on the counter with the rest of the signs. There was a softball tournament and they were tailgating in the whole west parking lot with grills lights chairs tents and even a camper but that was allowed. I have never used the race card but this is definitely what it was giving. I would stay again if they got better staff who was more professional. This is a Hilton not the knights inn.

- decaturh2021 (10/5): Family-friendly with extra little touches! - It's often the little things that make the biggest difference. Clean when we walked in, cookies and mints out, the tea/coffee bar out, and coloring sheets and crayons by the elevator for kids. Then we get to the pool and they have a lounge chair set for kids in between the adult lounge chairs - just the cutest. And for us, today, and traveling with three kids, it is such a welcome feel and takes us from "a night in a hotel" to "a really nice stay." Thanks for the hospitality!
- billjI1132AJ (8/5): Good service and location, would stay here again. - After minor hiccups with delayed check-in (short on staff), but with apologetic and friendly folks at the front desk, this stay was great. Clean room, good breakfast, fairly quiet, no trouble. Price was a bit high, maybe because there was a festival going on in the next town. Bathroom floor was sticky, but clean so probably cleaning products need dilution. I would stay here again.

However, the carpeted area in our room was quite dusty, and my dog’s eyes started to get irritated, and we could clearly hear other families’ conversations in adjacent rooms. Only had Waffles, French toast, watery eggs and shells in hard boiled eggs. Very disappointed compared to other Hampton properties. Also didn’t receive water for being a Silver member, but was thanked for being one. Had a good selection for the gift shop if you value a wide selection for candy/treats

The bed was hard and the pillows seem to be the down-feather kind that you can never get comfortable on no matter how you position them. The breakfast potatoes were good but the rest left something to be desired. The sausage was greasy and didn't taste at all like maple sausage. The hot water was excellent! The furnace/air conditioning unit in the room made a clicking noise that made it difficult to fall asleep-I did forget to tell the front desk about that. I would stay again but ask for different pillows or bring my own.

- Heather (5/5): - The property is fairly new so everything is in very good condition. The pet fee of $75 is outrageous and difficult to discover online. I understand it is a one time fee so it works for several nights, but we used the hotel while we were traveling for just one night. We will not return for this reason. As well, at check-in the computer system was down and check-in delayed without much information and no welcome at all. We were reminded that we were there before official check-in time. I did not find this reminder very hospitable. Quite the opposite.

Front desk staff did not explain anything about the hotel (i.e. breakfast hours, elevator location, check-out times, etc.) When asked where the elevator was, they told me, then started talking to another staff member about how they need a sign because they get that asked all the time. If the front desk staff took the time to explain some of this at check-in, it would alleviate some of the questions they receive.

Bedding didn’t look like it was changed but sprayed with freshener - blood stains on bed duster and mattress cover - just disgusting.

- timtL1557YI (2/5): Awful stay, not a family friendly place. - Me and my wife with 2 kids came to Long Beach for the 4th of July weekend and booked this hotel. As soon as we checked into our room my wife immediately noticed human hair all over the made bed. The whole bed was covered with them under the sheets. (Photos are attached). I went downstairs to ask to be switched into a different room and without any issues we were. Second room was much better besides a couple bugs crawling on the blinds, which I can understand. Second room turned out to also have dirty sheets, which at that point we just stripped and left on the floor because we have a 2 year old and a newborn (5 weeks) and were just exhausted. As anyone with a baby knows sometimes there’s nothing you can do if the baby is fussy, while we were calming out son down and feeding him we received a phone call from front desk… she said she was calling us because there’s a baby crying and pretty much told us that we have to keep the noise down (shut our baby up). Assuming it was from a room next to us I was hoping to see them to apologize for any noise but the gentlemen that stayed next to us actually found us and told us that they never asked to call and watched the front desk call and tell us that there was a complain. Neighbors said they felt awful and embarrassed and angry that front desk even did that when they only asked to be switched to a different room if it was available. I made a complaint twice to speak with a GM but never heard from her/him. I called the location twice after we checked out in the next two weeks period and left voicemails and still no call back so review had to be done. I write this for the families that might be thinking about staying there because no parent should go through what we went through from start to finish.

- Elizabeth (4/5): Horrible Experience - Took over 30 minutes to check in and we were only ones at counter. Booked a room that holds 5 adults but were given a two queen beds. Provided a dirty cot that was nothing but springs and didn’t even fit in room. After taking to front desk they comped us another room so that we would have two rooms to accommodate our family. Our room was dirty, had half eaten dog treats on floor and the bathroom floor was covered in black hair. My daughter found several black hairs in bed. Couldn’t switch rooms because sold out. Manager was sympathetic at checkout but only offered us 4,000 Hilton points worth about $20. The room was $275 and thankfully we were only spending a night. I’d avoid this hotel if staying in the LaPorte area.

- Janke (10/5): Exceptional - Room were very nice, modern, clean and well laid out. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were just a little cramped, but very functional.
- Stephanie (8/5): - Front staff was awesome & friendly. Room was comfortable, however carpeting needs to be cleaned. It was filthy & tile floor was kinda sticky when we first arrived. Breakfast was ok, kitchen staff was either stressed or short, they were rather rude.
- Kebrina (10/5): Great Hotel - I thought it was a great place to stay! It was a perfect location, right in the middle of everything. Close to the beach, but also close the the businesses as well. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The kids had the best time in the pool. We had a mess in our bed (self-made) the housing staff was very accommodating and helped get us knew sheets immediately and even offered to make the bed up for us. We ended up doing it ourselves because I felt so bad but it was very sweet. The only issue we had, they ran out of towels while we were there so we couldn't shower unless we ran out to Walmart and bought clean towels. It was not conventional, as we expected clean towels at a hotel, but it was not terrible, as everything else was perfect during the stay there.
- teresah25 (6/5): Average - I chose this hotel because it had a higher rating than most in the area and that were closer to Indiana Dunes. Check in was fine it’s not that important to me but staff was not that friendly. Room was clean but could use more attention in corners of bathroom. Hallway had obvious spots and dusty corners as well. Overall not bad. Coffee was good.

- Joe (8/5): Good - Good stay…. But Of no fault of the staff the curtains on the window do not completely close allowing the spotlight across the area to shine in all night. Also we could hear the room above us tenants walk around(thumping) at 4am. Architecture and designer could have done better but overall good place

- Cassandra (8/5): - We stay at Hampton Inns often as we think they're one of the best reasonably priced hotel chains. Cleanliness rating was probably influenced by age of building.
- Pam (10/5): - Everything was excellent except the tile around the pool area is very slippery . May I suggest rubber mats to prevent injuries .
