We had a beautiful room with sea views and a great balcony where we had breakfasts brought up by the coffee shop staff. The staff was super friendly and helpful but nobody spoke English on the grounds. We were able to send messages to Ania for any questions or requests.

Tim (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful and private place to enjoy a beach paradise. - The resort is really beautiful, comfortable, and meticulously maintained. Being small and only for adults, we barely saw anyone other than the staff. And the staff was really nice, accommodating, and a pleasure to see each day. The little cafe had a limited but excellent menu and was very convenient for a quick breakfast or lunch. The rooms felt very tropical and each one felt completely secluded and private. It is also a super convenient and quant walk to the beach. Worse part was having to eventually leave! There are a lot of stairs, so it did require some work to get around and the busy road can be a big noisy at first,.. but the ocean, sunny days, and nighttime breezes usually put us right to sleep.

Lidia (10/5): Lovely stay at an adult tree house in Zihua! - La Villa luz was beautiful and felt like a giant tree house. I love that is adults only so it was very quiet. The pool is small but very clean and refreshing. The cafe in the property was great when you’re at the pool because you can order drinks and a bite to eat. The food and drinks they prepare are fresh with high quality ingredients. The beach is literally a 2 minute walk and you have access to lots of amazing restaurants on the beach too. Our host (Ania) was friendly and gave us lots of great tips…one day we took a boat to Playa las gatas which was stunning and we also bought a day pass at The Thompson hotel right in front of La Villa Luz and enjoyed the whole day in our private beach chairs with an adult pool and absolutely great service!! I would recommend this Villa to my friends and family and plan to maybe book it for a family trip! FYI the entire staff was AMAZING! Thank you La Villa Luz!! I liked it all!

Very dangerous for most people trying to get in. with the cost of the hotel room , which is quite expensive for what you get, it would be nice to have a way to make a morning cup of coffee. You had to go and buy your coffee every morning.
barkis (10/5): - Villa Luz is an absolutely beautiful boutique hotel. It is very quiet and private, as there are only 7 rooms. Location is perfect, just a couple blocks off La Ropa beach. It is definitely NOT equipped for elderly, disabled or anyone who is out of shape, as there are many stairs everywhere, including a spiral staircase to the pool area. I would have also liked access to coffee in the morning (you have to go to restaurant next door), and bar service at the pool.

I sent a message to the manager & the reply was we did not request a junior suite with a living room. I sent her photos of all documentation from booking.com with regard to this booking she said she would contact you as this information is incorrect. Very disappointing for us & our stay. Either way somebody’s information is incorrect.

Marta (10/5): Quiet, spotless, hidden gem close to La Ropa - Beautiful small and quiet hotel steps from La Ropa Beach. The staff was excellent and anticipated every move. The room was very clean and we had a lovely balcony that gave us wonderful views. In addition, up one more flight of stairs there is a fabulous and very spacious common area open to all that provided panoramic views of the Zihua beach coast and an option to see the beautiful sunsets. The restaurant offered delicious breakfast and lunch and Chef Ivan will custom create meals for you. The Combi stop and taxi stands are very close should you want to explore other areas of Zihua. Also, many other restaurant options available both on and off the beach. Perhaps having the option for a Restaurant serving dinner would have been nice. The signage at the front of the building makes it hard to spot. So intimate, that it isn't well known by cabs. There is no elevator for those with mobility issues.

Just a short 5-minute walk to the beach, complemented by a lovely pool that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The staff delivered outstanding service, attentive to every need. Overall, a truly rejuvenating experience.

Extra charges incurred. Should have laundry bag in room for items requested, not assume any clothes left out is for laundry.

The bed was so comfortable that my husband joked about looking at the mattress to see the brand name. The hotel had a great layout so that each of the 7 rooms are private. Convenient location to many restaurants and cafes and a short 3 min walk to Playa Ropa. Our fav dinner was up the hill at La Spuma. We also enjoyed lounging at The Thompson beachfront property for an afternoon. We would def stay at La Villa Luz again in a heartbeat.

We were there for business not leisure so when I travel I like TV and leisure I don’t care for TV.

We felt safe there. The stairs to bottom villa were narrow but our bags were carried down & up by staff. Older guests may have struggled.

I did not find the bed comfortable, if you want to have any natural light in your room, you have to open the wood slats which lets in the oppressive heat too. There are no windows with panes. Thomas (10/5): Heavenly stay at beautiful La Villa Luz - La Villa Luz is a palapa-style building that reflects that it was originally designed by a celebrated architect as a private home. It is quite beautiful and the exquisite craftsmanship throughout reflects attention to detail and time and place. There are 7 rooms, all with private bathrooms, The rooms climb from the garden/pool level to above the street level entrance on Escenica La Ropa. The rooms have very comfortable beds and most have their own balconies. Bathrooms are roomy and provide nice shampoo and conditioner. There are AC units in each room, if needed. The small staff are lovely. Ania the manager was so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The housekeeper was so efficient and meticulous. They offer a breakfast from 8-12 with an extensive menu; the wonderful chef makes everything to order. The pool is smaller but perfect for cooling off and sitting around reading. Playa La Ropa is minutes away and we walked the beach and swam every morning. The location is great and we largely walked everywhere, whether into town or to La Ropa. Great exercise! The physical structure of La Villa Luz makes WiFi coverage spotty at times. They probably need a mesh network and faster ISP. Not an issue for us but there are lots of steps/stairs as the building is built into the hillside. For someone with mobility issues, could be challenging.

Christine (9/5): The staff were extraordinary and we had a terrific stay. - The staff were so helpful and kind and brought us coffee to our room each morning. The breakfast is very good but is an additional charge. The pool is on the small side but we almost always had it to ourselves and the grounds around it were beautifully maintained. We stayed in the junior suite, garden view, and it was hard for us to tell when booking that it would be so close to the pool area and therefore didn’t feel all that private during the day. Voices carried pretty easily from our room to the pool and vice versa. Also, the traffic from the street was sometimes an issue. Though our room was still very nice, we had wished we chose one of the rooms on an upper level, with the ocean view. It would have allowed for a bit more privacy too.

Stacey (10/5): Fabulous Staff & Beautiful Boutique Hotel - Fantastic + beautiful boutique hotel a very short walk to the beach. The design touches and small attention to details are wonderful, including a very comfy bed + private balcony with breathtaking views. But the best part of this property is the manager and staff. My friend woke up sick and they helped arrange to have a doctor come and help us with her prescriptions on the day we were checking out. The property manager went above and beyond and is an incredibly kind and helpful young woman. Yes, there are stairs, which aren’t an issue at all if you’re in decent health/shape & as others mentioned, the breakfast service + food are great. They also were available to answer any questions I had immediately on WhatsApp. If you’re a fan of boutique hotels and amazing customer service, you’ll love it. I would definitely stay again.

The entire property is stunning... serene, beautifully decorated, super clean and cozy. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and completely made us feel at home. Breakfast was divine - healthy and tasty, cooked to order by the most lovely chef. The view from our room was incredible and the pool and garden area are gorgeous, the perfect place to cool down after a day exploring. Just a few minutes walk from Playa la Ropa and lots of great restaurants, this was a great location for our home base in Zihuatanejo. Honestly, not a single thing!
