Guest Reviews
- Maelys (6/5): Sympa - Bien localisé. Piscine très agréable. Clim fonctionnel. Personnel très serviable. Belle terrasse.

- Snieguole (8/5): A good place to stay if you like authenticity and swimming in a pool. - Large clean pool, beautiful, natural, well-maintained environment. Authentic bungalow, just needs renovation inside, but I chose it knowing that it is. Staff friendly and helpful. Second time staying here. A big plus is that there are no mosquitoes. There are also disadvantages here, but I choose Yuliati House knowing this, this year the price-quality ratio was excellent. Bungalow needs renovation inside.
- Maria Fernanda (10/5): - The location is perfect; breakfast, hospitality, people, price, pool, acces, everything so good.
- Emily (10/5): Great location, lovely people, beautiful swimming pool - Excellent location, we loved the bird, it talked to us when we stopped to say hello everyday! We miss it.. the staff and entire family there were so lovely, went above and beyond to help us when we got sick, and were polite, positive and funny, we would definitely stay again! The delux rooms with the balcony are the best… thank you for a wonderful stay!
- Martin (9/5): - Great location. Friendly staff. Rooms are good value for money. The photos are not of the current condition of the property but the price matches what you get
- Kyjevska (8/5): - Beautiful spot in a quiet zone, but close to the center. The views into the gardens and pool were amazing, friendly staff. The rooms have a fridge and a kettle. It is a true home stay, you see the everyday life of the Balinese people. So special My first room was comfortable but a bit depressing, older and had no lamp. Could use some deepclean, upgraded the last night for a better and more expensive room and that one was amazing. Just the toilet and AC were leaking.
- Mohammed (10/5): - The staff were very polite Nothing
- Tolga (8/5): -
- Roberts (7/5): Fine for a cheap stay as an adult who can manage your own safety but I would not bring children here - It was a good location and the staff did what they could to make our stay comfortable when we asked. Our room was a bit dirty when we arrived and the power kept going off in our room which was super hot. We were also upstairs which is not what we wanted with a toddler and wasnt what we had booked. The staff dont speak very good English and defaulted to their boss a lot which made it hard to get any information. They had flyers and posters up about day trips and activites they could help organise but when asked they had no idea and didnt really try to help. The pool is damaged (stairs and tiles) and there is no shade during the hottest part of the day.
Man går forbi flere familier for at komme derned - alle smiler.
- emma (7/5): Little run down - The people were nice Mould in the shower room wasn’t cleaned. Every day sheets were stain. The towels were stained. It was a bit wary. Location was good, but I wouldn’t stay there again.
- DAOUDI (6/5): - I liked the location of the hotel There is no hot water
- Tania (10/5): Incredible family and experience. - We had the best time at Yuliati House. We were very well received and treated like family. Staff are very child friendly and flexible. They have clean rooms and a very nice swimming pool facing the jungle. Surrounded by nature and walking distance to vibrant restaurants and yoga studios.
- Thomas (10/5): - Pool, Lage, Familie und Nachbarn sehr nett
- Penelope (9/5): Lovely low budget place. I would stay again. - A real little gem. I would highly recommend this place. The staff were really lovely and the pool a highlight. The entrance is off putting and not clearly marked. But once you find the place which is down the back it sweet.
- Robyn (8/5): -
- Lucy (7/5): Lovely - View from balcony was really nice, pool was lovely. Could have been more areas to sit by the pool.
- Anthony (6/5): Quite, nice cozy place, for a couple, and short stay perhaps. - Placed centrally with most of Ubuds shopping and eating centres just a couple of minutes walk away. Property is a homestay and nicely decorated with wonderful people around. I went with family so room seemed small. No cupboards and extra amenities, lots of ants.
- David (8/5): Very good - People were easy going. Was good for the price. Suited our purpose. Because it was raining all the time the concrete was slippery. Moss build up on it needs to be cleaned.
- Olivia (2/5): Very poor - The bed was comfy and the air conditioner worked. The shower head was broken and after it was fixed, there was no hot water. There was also hardly any basic products you'd normally expect in accomodation: no soap, no bottled water, no tissues, only one half-used roll of toilet paper. The pool area was dangerous with cracked and broken tiles and the lounge chairs were extremely close to the edge of the ravine. The staff were unfriendly.
- Kim (1/5): Bad - Comfortable bed We informed we were arriving late after midnight as flight delayed. When we arrived no one to greet us no answer to calls. Waited until 2am to get into our room
- Ana (10/5): Quaint and walkable homestay - I loved that I was walking distance from yoga barn and so many places to grab coffee or something to eat. It felt like I was staying at a family's home and it helped me feel so grounded. I am so glad I stayed at this simple and quaint spot in Ubud. It was also very safe to walk there by myself. Also when I had time, I used the pool which had a beautiful view and I was the only one in the pool. I had a spider come into the bathroom, but when I messaged them to please take it out when they could, they did. They were so responsive.
- Juliette (10/5): Perfect - Everything was perfect !
- Gizelle (8/5): Very good - I loved my stay at Yuliati. It was peaceful and private. Central in Ubud with many great eateries within walking distance. I look forward to stay there again in the future.
- Elisabeth (8/5): - Good budget friendly accommodation, location was great and the staff were great!
- Archie (10/5): Great place to stay, highly recommend - Excellent place to stay, we extended an extra night, it was very clean, quiet and in a great location. Pool was clean and peaceful.
- Okumus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (1/5): Look for different place - Swimming pool Dirty. Rundown. Unpleasant staff
- Keith (5/5): Holiday - It needs updateing No facilities in room not even cup or glass
- Robert (10/5): A quiet oasis in an interesting area of Ubud - Breakfast was very tasty, with several options available.
- Gabriela (6/5): Pleasant -
- Eva (3/5): Poor - The location is great, there are many eateries and cafés on the same street. There is proper hot water and water pressure in the shower. The balcony was a good size and thankfully mostly in shade. The place is really run down. The room had ants and even a couple lizards inside when we arrived. The ants were nesting in the massive crack in the wall and we had to end up killing them since they ended up in our bed on multiple occasions. The sugar was full of them as well.
The bed was so soft that if one of us moved the other was bouncing.
The AC was probably never cleaned, I woke up every morning with a sore throat and / or coughing.
The bathroom was covered in limescale, which is not an issue by itself but adds to the overall (sad) picture.
The pool had quite a few cracked tiles with rust under so not without its risks.
Even the room key was completely rusted; it felt like this place was good once and they just never bothered to maintain it.
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ma (6/5): Pleasant - - the pool itself is nice (but not the surroundings)
- hot shower with good waterpressure
- the location is good We stayed in the standard double room. The tiles are cracked
Bad light
No real bathroom door - made of polystyrene, cover was half torn off
The bathtub was dirty
The electrical cables were not connected properly, so the lamps always had short wobbles and you could hear the electricity.
The atmosphere in the whole compound was quite low
With the Early Year price it was definitely a low budget option. We booked 5 nights it in advance to stay close to a festival venue. We wouldn't book again.
They deluxe rooms might be better.
- Chelsea (4/5): alright for short stay - only stayed for 3 nights and very good price. get what you pay for kinda vibe. Was a little disappointed with the cleanliness for the room/ facilities. Lots of mould around bath/shower. Pipes under the sink leaked onto the floor. Coffee and Sugar left in the room had bugs in.
- Sarat (3/5): Budget accommodation - Pool outlook was beautiful The entry
The security of the room. It was a padlock and key.
No lock box
Arriving after dark, in the rain on the way down to the room was dark and slippery
Emails and messages sent with no response
We didn't stay there and cancelled on arrival
- Rachel (5/5): Tranquil pool but poor staff attitudes - The pool is tranquil and surrounded by nature. Our room had a lovely view across the valley. The location is convenient for walking around Ubud. Our bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. There was a mini fridge and a kettle. Staff attitudes were not good. We had to ask for every piece of information as nothing was offered, and answers were often unnecessarily abrupt. It was often unclear who was working or who we should ask. There was certainly none of the warm hospitality I have experienced elsewhere in Southeast Asia.
If we wanted our room cleaned, we had to ask, though this was not explained to us upon check-in. Late checkout was not permitted and we were not offered the possibility of leaving our luggage for the afternoon after checkout.
The bathroom was in poor condition with tiles in the shower in need of replacement.
WiFi was extremely slow by Indonesian standards.
- Abhimanyu (8/5): Good value for money - Lovely swimming pool, off the main road, very quiet and helpful staff Bit dated and tired looking
- Alani (7/5): Good - Staff, breakfast. Shower and toilet for the master room.
- Martin (7/5): Good - The staff was nice. We booked room with 2 beds, but we got room with 1 bed.
- S (6/5): Pleasant - their staff were helpful and very accomodating. their hospitality was excellent they did not have basic toiletetteries like shampoo, conditioner. their airport transfer was also very costly. it cost me fraction to book an independant airport tranfer from booking.com
- April (8/5): Quiet, beautiful family run Homestay in the bustling centre - Very quiet spot, even though it’s in the centre of town. Beautiful big family running the place, loved catching up and seeing the daily rituals. Exceptional value for such a central hotel. Excellent air con, view from the balcony, access to good food and the best noodle place just outside on the street. And good laundry service too! The shower could have better pressure but it gets the job done! It’s a budget option ❤️
- Tegan (8/5): Lovely location and extremely well priced. - Really nice location and friendly hosts. Beautiful area to stay in and pretty close to all the main attractions but not right in the hustle and bustle. Very good value for money. We spent hardly anything staying here and found it to be really good for the price. We did ask for a double bed and instead got two king singles. We couldnt push them together because they were fixed. This was okay in the end, because the king single was still big enough to share.
- Sanjana (3/5): Poor - Pool and Location. Our experience at this property was disappointing. The staff were extremely rude and difficult to communicate with, although the owner was polite. The lack of privacy in the room was a major issue—there were only curtains for separation, and the door couldn’t be locked securely, leaving us feeling unsafe.
The bathroom had a persistent leakage problem, which was inconvenient. To add to our frustration, despite confirming multiple times with the receptionist about the breakfast price being 15k IDR, we were charged 50k IDR per person at the end of our three-day stay.
This place fell far below expectations, and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. You can easily find much better accommodations near Ubud Market for the same price.
- Andrés (1/5): Bad - Because we booked a room and they gave us a totally different one... the smell, the facilities, everything... It was impossible to sleep there
- Wendy (7/5): Good - Central yet quiet. Lots a great places to eat nearby Staff...little bit lazy and I untogether. Cranky when asked for toilet paper towels clean rubbish from rooms
- Dawn (4/5): The pool is beautiful. The garden rooms are very nice. They just need to work on the hospitality side of things. - The location is nice if you have a garden view. If not, the room can be very dark. There’s a lot of trash around the property, ants in the sugar, ordered breakfast only got half of it. Lost electricity there seemed to be no sense of urgency or initiative to address/repair. Don’t know how long it took to get electricity as checked out early and went to another place.
- Luisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Farhan (9/5): Superb - The pool The pool was too much chlorine
- Emma (2/5): Very poor - The pool area was lovely. The front of staff were helpful. The facilities were very poor. The cleanliness of the rooms were not at a good standard. The photos did not match what I expect. The second room I was in was leaking from somewhere and I did not have hot water. The sheets were stained. I was given a small discount, however it was not much considering how uncomfortable the stay was.
- Molly (9/5): Superb -
- Allen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordi (7/5): Good - The swiming pool
- Graham (9/5): Superb -
- Andres (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (8/5): Close to everything in Ubud! - Great location, affordable, clean, lovely breakfast. Our electricity kept cutting out and this stopped all aircon and lights. We had to keep tripping the switch until they got someone to fix but this took 2 days. Otherwise the venue was great for the money.
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional - Members of staff were amazing, made the stay really special. Very comfortable beds, great location within Ubud, plus the accomodation was well away from the
street, so very quiet. Highly recommend!
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - the pool is amazing, right in the city but a quiet paradise. The room has beautiful luxurious details, staff is super friendly, can park scooter off the main road on the property, breakfast options
- Sandibv (8/5): Very comfy. Loved the pool. - Everyone was very friendly, they helped us with our bags and received us with a smile. The room was very spacious and comfy. We had a cute front porch to sit and hang out. They cleaned our room every day which we didn't expect. The pool was very well mantained, lovely view and an amazing thing to have to cool off before or after a busy day. There was not a very good organisation within the team. On our third night in the middle of a torrential rain at 10pm we were randomly stopped and asked to pay for the accomodation, even though we had booked with credit card. I understand some accomodations ask you to pay on arrival but nothing was said to us during checkin and it was just a non professional way to handle things.
Otherwise the teacups provided in our room were dirty. And I would have liked having a plug by the beds. We had one but had to unplug the lamp, and unplug the fridge to use the second one on the other side of the room.
- Debbie (9/5): Great value, such beautiful gardens. - This location was very peaceful with just a short walk to down town Ubud. The pool was super and the room very comfortable. I mostly came back for sleeping and dipping in the pool at the end of my day. just a 20 minute walk to The monkey forest and a 15 min walk to Ubud yoga barn.
- Sophie (6/5): It was clean and comfortable to enjoy staying in the busy city - The rooms where quiet, the beds where comfy, the pool side was nice The drainage of the bath was bad, by the end of having a shower the water would be up to ur knees and would take a couple hours to go down.
Getting the room is a bit of a pain if you have a suitcase.
- Chong (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jarryd (7/5): Good -
- Mon (8/5): Great value for money - Location is great, close to everything . The upstairs view is amazing The downstairs room has no privacy, left hand side is kitchen right hand side is reception. Room face the main entrance rely on curtain to give you privacy, lucky we have two room( one up and one down) so it’s not problem to us. We only stay down stairs room for sleep
- Abhijeeta (5/5): Passable -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (8/5): Very good -
- Phương (8/5): Very good -
- Antonio (2/5): Dissapointing room that is not shown here in the pictures - It was located very close to the center of Ubub and pineaple juice was good. The moment we arrived everything was dissapointing. The room we got wasn't in any of the pictures shown here in Booking.
The floor was old, and the bathroom was very dirty, things sticked on the walls, etc.
The main door coudnt be fully closed, we had a small locker to close it from outside and a wooden stick to clog it from inside.
We did not have hot watter at all. We tried to complain on the first day, but could not found anyone available (around 12pm).
We had the same situation with the watter the rest of the days, we had to find them and ask for the hot watter, they touched something on the roof and it worked for a few minutes.
The guy in the reception did not speak well english so we could not complain and get answers from them.
We got a two small beds instead of a big one.
They had other rooms that are shown in the pictures that looked better, so you expect something similar... but that room was completely different and worst.
On top of that we tried to reach booking support but did not have any reply at all.
- David (8/5): Nice, secluded homestay, nice pool. would stay here again. - Nice homestay located back off the street, lovely refreshing clean pool. Basic breakfast provided but adequate. It's away from the really busy streets but they are all in walking distance. We had three rooms for 4 nights. Definitely recommend the renovated rooms (deluxe) and superior. The front entrance to accommodation gets really busy (most Days) with lots of Balinese preparing for ceremony. Not a complaint or something I didn't like. it just can be a little overwhelming when you first arrive if you catch them at a busy time. Having said that they were all very lovely and directed us to our accommodation. And this does not impact on your stay at YULIATI HOUSE.
- Betty (9/5): Nice, quite and affordable place - Nice, quite place. The staff was friendly, and despite the challenge to communicate as they have limited english, the overall hospitality is great. I love the pool and the surroundings, and I can hear the birds chirping and crickets humming. I also love the balinese instruments in the garden. I also like that it is accessible to a lot of vegannand vegan-friendly restaurants like Sayuri, Sawobali, Coco's, Mama's Warung, etc. Not much. Though i hope they can improve the bathroom's cleanliness by removing the molds. Also, the room lost power twice but they were able to fix asap.
- Caroline (1/5): I’ve been travelling for six months staying at different hostels, and this is by far the worst place I’ve ever been. The -
- Nectar (7/5): Good -
- Kamal (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely and kind staff
