- hugo (4/5): Lugar accesible y mejorar el hotel - Piscina Las puertas inseguras, no le hacen mantenimiento al hotel, puertas, ventanas.
- Darbee (10/5): 10/10 - We loved the pool and warm showers. I feel like it needs to be repainted and also the hanger for clothes you should invest in some better ones. Also should put brighter lights along with the dim light.

- Intelsath (2/5): Worst Experience ever. Avoid at all cost!! - It's a very old building, the elevator isn't working so if you bring luggage, it's going to be a nightmare having to climb all the stairs. They assigned our room on the fourth floor, and we had a lot of luggage. So we requested another room in a lower level, but he guy at the front desk refused, even though the hotel was almost empty (very few guests).
Also, be prepared to spend the night waiting outside the hotel if you want to go out and want to come back late to your room. I went out the first night of my visit to La Ceiba, and when I came back, the lobby entrance was locked. I called the front desk and no one answered, and I kept knocking the front entrance door until someone could hear me. I literally had to wait 20 minutes outside until one employee decided to come downstairs to open the door.
Also, the security guard they have there will ask you for money. He told me that he would watch out for my car, and asked me if I had any money. I told him no, so he stopped me and said "okay when you come back, please bring me something, like a drink". I felt unsafe so I had to give him money, and I know that he is the guy employed by the hotel. He is there to extort the guests not to make them feel safe.
Also, the rooms are dirty, old, and the beds are really small. At least the AC was working fine, that's the only thing that worked there apparently.
Also, there is a bar nearby. Could be a good thing if you want something to drink at a walking distance, but it's annoying if you want some good night sleep, because of the loud music.
The hotel is expensive, not worth a single penny of what it cost. There are much better hotels around in La Ceiba, avoid this one if you can!!
- T9049RXluis (4/5): Ms - Too noisy, terrible beds , and not worth the price. Bar/Resturant across the narrow street with loud music until midnight. I asked to switch rooms but was told that the eco flows through the entire hotel. I'm a lite sleeper, so got no rest at all. I won't be returning.
- Ruth (8/5): - Buena ubicacion
- Jaky (2/5): - Music was very loud you could hear everything and we couldn't sleep till like 4am it was terrible
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There is a bar next to the hotel with extremely loud music all night and all day. Impossible to sleep and have quiet rest. Terrible location, no parking
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location. Great for the price.
- Q (4/5): - Great staff. Hotel not worth the price. Booked 2 nights, stayed one. Woke up to ants in the bed, and iching all over. Booked another hotel down the street.
- SigKitty (10/5): Wonderful location - I was so grateful to have found this cute little hotel. My fifth floor room faced the ocean and I enjoyed leaving the balcony door open for the breeze. The room furniture wasn't modern but it was clean and as a solo female traveler, I felt safe here. Even though I didn't get to use the pool, it looked clean and refreshing. John, the owner, was very nice and eager to hear about my experience. He even gave me some great travel advice about Honduras.
- Cesarxxx (10/5): The best location in La Ceiba. Great prices and gentle staff, Stunning views like no other. - Nice spacious clean rooms with style. This Hotel has the best views in town and is close to any place in La Ceiba. Definitely in the nightlife area and in front of the city ocean boardwalk.
Some of the reviews must have been from 2014 or before when the area was neglected and the boardwalk and dock were not in operation. This place has the potential to be the Hotel in La Ceiba.
- ILoveTooTravel (6/5): Great Staff!!! - This is such a nice place and the staff are so incredible. There was always someone who spoke english to help out. The rooms were comfortable. The surrounding area is safe. We walked to restaurants that were close by and felt safe. Now if you're into the night life this is even better for you, but if you're looking to get some sleep, I would suggest staying somewhere else. Bars with loud music are on the back and side of this hotel and play their music till 3 or 4 in the morning. It's really too bad because it's such a nice place to stay.
- 944terrid (10/5): Vacation - Best best best. Came for 2 weeks. Couldn't leave. Stayed for 3 weeks.
Large a/c room with balcony overlooks new beach boardwalk, pier, sea, and amazing sunsets
Food in restaurant is fresh and cafe makes excellent coffee and healthy fresh fruit beverages.
Always nice to have evening cocktails poolside.
All pleasant experiences interacting with staff helped arrange tours and day trips
When you feel this good. It's ART DECO BEACH. La Ceiba
I will definitely be back
- 282edsa (10/5): A Jewel of Art at the Caribbean coast - The Deco Art Deco beach Hotel stands up at the front of Caribbean seas with spectacular views.
As I entered the main entrance, I can see that there was a lot of thought put into the design of the hotel, you can look at any angle at any place in the premise of this hotel and you would ask yourself who the architecture is.
The accommodation was as exactly the way it was addressed to me in an email. The room had high ceiling, the AC needs to be on a few hours before you can feel the room being cooled since it was in the 90s and humid. Two queen beds, small refrigerator, 27” flat TV, wifi, clean bathroom with hot water. I got two balconies at the fourth floor, one overlooking the Caribbean coast with a view at the pier, the second balcony overlooking the city of La Ceiba. More to see, at 5:30am in the morning I walked thru walkway behind the room an there is was, a stunning view of the mountain ridge of Pico Bonito, showing off about 7k feet of elevation.
The Hotel has an elevator, which is great we a few days that the City will be shortage in power so the city will lose power for over four hours, however; the hotel has its own generator which keep the hotel up and running. All the people that we met and any other services that we needed were easy to get, I Just needed to ask.
For the cost of a room with all the amenities such an indoor pool, restaurant, snack/juice bar, friendly people and willing to help at all time, being in a 3er world, I give it a four star.
- 485caitlinc (8/5): Definitely not in it's prime, but still a great bargain - I've stayed at this hotel at two different times and was pleased both times. The rooms were large and clean, the staff was very attentive.
I never swam in the pool as the water was always too cold for my taste, but it looked clean enough.
There was 4-5 of us traveling together and the breakfasts included only were only for two people. The breakfasts were typical Honduras breakfasts and we just boxed up what we didn't eat to share with the others.
I wouldn't rank this hotel as a luxury hotel, but it was worth the price that we paid for it.
- CalicoStudio (4/5): Corky - This corky hotel has some really cool architectural features. The room was poorly furnished, breakfast was bad. Lighting was bad everywhere. Forget swimming, the beach line is full with boulders. Not the best part of town either. We were the only guests in the whole hotel, which must say something.
- MariDonAria (8/5): Great service! - Simple accommodation but big and very clean rooms. The bathroom has a big shower with a lot of space to move and place our stuff.
Erika, Leah and the owner were always very nice and very helpful with our questions.
We stayed 2 nights on our way to Roatan and we came back another night on our way to Tela. We were very happy and satisfied.
- PackRatiam (2/5): Sleep in the Street - Maybe some day this hotel will be brought back to the beauty it once was in 1950, but for now it is almost better to sleep in the street.. Room dark too many colors painted, fixtures did not work, curtains from a thrift store, given only 1 towel no wash cloths, no soap, no cups, furiniture worst than what you would by at the Salvation army. Employees doing you a favor to wait on you. Food bland. Not a good neighborhood.
- isadorem614 (4/5): Maybe only for an overnight stopover en route to the Island - We stayed 2 shower less nights in this hotel.Illusive staff, lack of towels.Garbage and dirty sheets left in the hall left for days,Basic condiments like butter for toast unavailable.Included breakfast Spartan at best.Lights over vanity non functional,Toilet required diving our hands into the cistern to release stop. The whole building felt like an abandoned shell.Would opt for other options in the future.
- KarlaM124 (8/5): Good experience - We stayed here 2 nights. Although the area behind the hotel doesn't look very nice, there is a police station behind the hotel, to the left. We were there during the weekend, so the businesses behind the hotel weren't open, so it looked like a questionable area, but was actually an "ok" business area during the daytime. The room was open and the bathroom was big, with hot water. The lock on the door was simple, but the door seemed very strong. The two balcony doors had no locks of any kind.
The front desk staff was very nice, but my husband is Honduran, and I speak fluent Spanish. I do believe they would help even non-Spanish speakers. They were very nice with directions, and had some maps to give us.
The parking was a very small garage at the front entrance of the hotel. We did park out front mostly because there were a security guard there.
There are various stray dogs running around, but that is pretty typical. They were very friendly, so not a concern to me.
The restaurant had a very typical Honduran breakfast, that comes with the hotel stay...small pieces of sausage, the best tasting eggs I have ever had, coffee, juice, cheese, and toast. We had pork chops in the evening, which also had a great taste.
The pool was not functional, and served mostly as decoration, in my opinion. We only paid $55 per night, so was a decent place in my opinion.
- Ohio_traveler_46 (8/5): Excellent service. - We spent ten days here and the staff was courteous and helpful in every aspect - front desk, restaurant, and maid service, all excellent! The rooms were clean, and the food was good. Views of both the city and the beach add to the hotel's appeal.
The only issue was the pool, which did not hold water. They added water to it constantly but could not keep the water levels above the skimmers. They rarely ran the filter pump (probably because it made it leak faster). We were not there for the pool, so this was not a problem for us, but it might trouble a family with children who are looking forward to spending lots of time in the pool.
Overall, considering the price, this hotel is an excellent value.
- PaulB48 (10/5): Mission Trip 2012 - We stayed ten nights on our last trip and used three rooms. The hotel was clean and very friendly. The rooms were well kept and roomy. We have no complaints about our rooms of the service of the staff. I feel we got a good fair deal on the money we paid for our rooms, and everything was beautiful. I have been to Honduras more than fourteen times and have stayed in more than one Hotel. Hotel Art Delco Beach is the best Hotel I have stayed in while visiting LaCeiba, Honduras.
- LorenS587 (10/5): Second Visit - This was my second visit to Honduras and again we stayed at the Art Deco Beach Hotel. Our first visit was very nice however our second visit exceeded our expectations. The staff as before were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and better than the last visit. It was easy to go to the Cayos Cochinos because the hotel made all of our arrangements. We also followed the Hotel's suggestion to visit Pico Bonito which was close to La Ceiba with their magnificent views. If you're planning a trip to Honduras don't miss out staying at this hotel.
- BlueTraveller711 (6/5): Great staff, but it's seen better days - It's an ok value for La Ceiba and the staff was incredibly friendly / helpful. That said, the hotel is not in great shape, the pool was dirty, and the immediate area isn't the best either. It's a shame since the architecture is incredible, so with a refurbishment this could be quite the hotel.
- 88rons88 (8/5): great for the money - I staid in the hotel 2 weeks ago and it was wonderful. The hotel is not luxuries but the service is great, starting with great free breakfast and lovely restaurant. the staff is nice and helpful. The hotel located on the ocean and the view from my room was amazing. most likely, I will stay there again.
- Jochon (4/5): Nice people, terrible area, no good parking and great view. - The people at the Hotel are nice and helpful enough, but the building is very pooly designed, and not very well built. Our door had a large crack which was sealed with masking tape and the bathroom was not very welcomimg. Stayed for one night traveling by car with my wife and son and was glad to be out of that terrible neghbourhood as soon as possible. The parking area is far too small and difficult for a hotel. Took a peek out of the building at 5 pm and was welcomed by prostitutes and drug addicts who have made the abandoned cafeteria in front their hideout. Desolate neghbourhood filled with run down buildings.
They have a nice restaurant with a good breakfast and a spectacular view of the ocean and the (also abandoned and filled with bums) old dock. These people are struggling to give a good service for a good price in a dire area of the city. I hope they have better luck turning the district around in the future, in the meantime I'm not coming back.
- LisaH340 (10/5): Amazing Experience - My stay at the Hotel Art Deco Beach in La Ceiba was surprisingly delightful, with a beautiful nights sleep in an airy high ceiling room and a delicious free breakfast that followed in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to returning to this beautiful seaside hotel.
