Guest Reviews
- Kelsey Campbell (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful hanok guesthouse! It's in a very convenient location and the neighbourhood is so lovely and quiet. The host was very kind and helpful. The room was spacious and had lots of amenities. It was so beautiful and peaceful to watch the sun come in through the glass door in the morning. Wish we could have stayed a second night!
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Jessica (7/5): -
- EWA (9/5): - My daughter and myself stayed in this lovely hanok and it makes me to look at the picture. Well served by buses, metro and walking. Lots of restaurants, bakeries, not to forget the corner shops...
- Chin (8/5): - The location is ideal. Quiet for a central location. The bathroom for the room booked is not an ensuite although it's solely for the room's use.
- Lionel (5/5): - Location, breakfast, vibe/style of the building The host looked always mad, the room was too little, we had to dress outside (where everyone can see). Bathroom too little.
- Kathie (8/5): -
- Hans En Petra Vandamme Gobeyn (9/5): - Locatie en top gastheer Niets
- Ester (10/5): -
- Viktoriia (9/5): -
- Lee (10/5): - Location is great. Interesting rooms and living area. Bathroom is small
- Beren (7/5): Authentic Hanok experience in a great location. - Fantastic location to palaces and cool Hanok neighbourhood. An authentic Hanok experience. Very adequate breakfast. Shower/toilet is very small.
- Markus (6/5): -
- Gaëtan (10/5): -
- Karina (10/5): - Everything was great. The owner - very nice, English speaking person - took great care of our comfort and convenience. There is available very rich breakfast, which can be enjoyed in the kitchen, in the room, or outside. The smaller room (single) was warm and cozy. We had lot of usefull things at our disposal. The bathroom was very small but very clean. You can feel the atmosphere of a real traditional Korean house, which, although centrally located next to the biggest palace, is quiet and peaceful. There are shops and cafes nearby. I regret that my stay was so short.
- Roaanna (8/5): - I like how the host welcomed us with all the food and drinks. The hanok is comfortable and cozy The comfort room is small and no bidet
- Darcy (10/5): - The owner was very kind. It is a beautiful experience in a traditional house. The heated floors were lovely.
- Anouchit (7/5): -
- Beatrice (10/5): -
- Anna (8/5): Enjoyable stay - If you’re keen to experience a traditional Hanok house this is a good choice. It’s not luxury - but traditional. Kind, helpful owner.
Excellent location on the edge of Bukchon Hanok village and near Anguk for lots of cafes and restaurants. Easy walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace & Changdeokgung Palace.
Easy transport options via buses, Anguk station & airport limousine bus 6011.
Just be aware as a traditional Hanok house you must remove shoes when entering rooms plus, as it has underfloor heating you need to step up/down into the rooms. Bed is a traditional floor mattress. Also, as it says in the listing, the single room has its bathroom across the courtyard.
- Helena (10/5): - It was so beautiful and calming. The host was very kind with me. It's a really great experience. The location it's also great.
- Anna-Kristina (7/5): Great experience for our short stay in Seoul. - The location was great. Even in wintertime, it was always warm inside. The only downside was that the metro station Anguk was a bit far away, but close enough for such a big city like Seoul I guess. It was a wonderful experience to stay in such a historic and beautiful house. The host was extremely helpful and always responded quickly to our requests. The bathroom is quite small. Also, after three days our backs started to hurt from sleeping on the floor. However, it was something we wanted to try, and overall it was an interesting experience.
- Paulo (8/5): - Localização Cozinha
- Iliana (10/5): Great location - Local feel! NA
Ambiente esterno poco curato
- Toby (8/5): -
- Hannah (10/5): Peaceful hanok stay - Beautiful hanok guest house, with a welcoming host and in a lovely peaceful area. We loved the traditional style and the underfloor heating meant that we were comfortable even in winter.
- Julia (9/5): - Was a great stay with a very welcoming host, would recommend for a cultural experience.
- Jeanine (10/5): Comfortable! ☺️ - Room and futon were very comfortable! I had a good sleep ☺️ Also very close to tourist attractions / nice restaurants and cafes! Toilet might need a bit of rework. But I stayed for only a night so that wasn’t too big of an issue.
- Shaela (10/5): - The location. The owner is nice and friendly.
- Helena (8/5): -
- Nellie (10/5): Cozy, quiet and relaxing - The location was really easy to get to on foot from Anguk Station. The guesthouse was like a little piece of serenity amongst the big city, and I think that this is easily one of the most unique and charming places I've ever stayed. It's a short walk from a bunch of really interesting museums and good food, and the owners are really nice! I was only here for a couple of days, but I really loved it.
- Jessica (8/5): - The hosts were so lovely and the free breakfast was such a cute touch. Great amenities - with free toothbrush and snacks and an air con(!) this exceeded my expectations. The towels had a scent that was a bit weird.
- Cassandra (10/5): - breakfast was included, they held our bags for us, very enjoyable it was great!
- Allyson (9/5): Cozy experience in the heart of Seoul - This location cannot be beat. The staff here was very friendly, and they clearly put a lot of care into the space. It was really cozy, and I appreciated the experience! The bedding was a little uncomfortable, but nothing you can't survive for a few nights.
- Amy (8/5): - Loved the location. Bed was comfortable. Host was helpful.
- Haruka (7/5): -
- Jorge (8/5): - Authentic traditional experience Yo need to leave your luggage outside in the courtyard because there’s no enough room for them inside the bedroom or anywhere else
- Anna (8/5): If you're looking for an authentic Korean Hanok experience, then this is it! - A gorgeous, charming hanok in a great location to explore Bukchon Hanok Village and historical sites - right next to Gyeongbokgung palace. Room was simple, but cosy with cushions and a heater to keep you warm and not forgetting underfloor heating too, which was needed for our cold December stay. The airport limousine bus stop is close by too, which was handy for our early start to the airport. We only stayed one night with early start in morning, so couldn't really comment.
- Raul (9/5): Traditional Hanok in the heart of Seoul - Good breakfast and great location
- Sami (9/5): Traditional Stay, Location cannot be beaten, exactly as described. - Location was unbeatable, you were a walks away from all the major train stations, directions to the accommodation was clear and straight forward. The host was the sweetest man alive, helped us understand the stay, pointed us in the direction of the best places we should see, There was a kids room full of toys and even some traditional Korean wear for both adults and children to try on. The room was exactly as described online, the beds were futons (if this isn't for you, I would look for alterative accommodation), they were comfortable and the heated floor was fantastic even in the middle of winter.
- Raffaella (7/5): -
- Kazazi (8/5): -
- Samonwan (10/5): - Lovely guesthouse
- Félix (5/5): -
- Ivan (10/5): Wonderful traditional home, a great experience for a short stay - Wonderful traditional home, a great experience for a short stay. The host was very welcoming.
- Swantje (8/5): - Eine tolle Erfahrung bei unserem ersten Aufenthalt in Korea. Freundlicher und sehr gewissenhafter Gastgeber. Tolle Lage!
- Smilla Selin (10/5): Helt perfekt!
- Fui Mee (8/5): - A big spread of scrumptious breakfast.
Great hanok experience. The host request us to let them know 30mins before returning to room to get the room ample time to be heated No toilet inside the room. No bidet
- Haruko (10/5): -
- Chiara (8/5): - Struttura super caratteristica! Colazione davvero ampia e variegata. Silenziosissima. Proprietario gentile e disponibile! Il bagno non è molto confortevole.

- clem (8/5): -
- Nathalie (8/5): - Emplacement très bien
- Filip (9/5): -
- athira (7/5): -
- Alan (10/5): Super - Podłoga była taka cieplutka i przyjemna 🫠
- Lucy (10/5): Simple traditional elegance - right next to must see sights! - Clean, traditional rooms, which once set up with your futon beds are simple and cozy - allowing you to enjoy the setting and experience. Breakfast is self serve with lots of lovely simple products.
- Saad (10/5): - I stayed only for one night, but it was very clean and quiet. Comfy sleep too
- Cristina (9/5): -
- Jean (8/5): -
- Sisse Marie Gröger (10/5): Very charming place - Very charming and homey feel. The place isn’t luxurious in any way, but has everything you need and the hosts are so so nice!! They were helpful and so kind. The breakfast is buffetstyle with lots of options. We liked it a lot and would stay again if we come back to Korea Nothing. It’s cheap and the facilities are what you can expect for the price.

- Barra (10/5): -
- Kristina (9/5): Nice stay in a traditional hanok - The guesthouse is in a super location. The communal kitchen facilities and breakfast worked well for our stay. The bathroom adjacent to our room was on the small side, but perfectly adequate for our needs.
Our host talked us through on how to open the front door, and the door to our room and we never had any issues with access.
Would recommend staying here to those who are looking for a more authentic experience than a generic hotel stay. The size of our room was on the smaller size. We managed comfortably, but it just meant a bit of a squeeze for two people with two luggages each (as we did not want to keep them outside the room, which was an option)
- Kevin (9/5): -

- Ka Ching (10/5): - Staying at this traditional hanok in the heart of Seoul was a truly unforgettable experience. Unlike other modernized hanoks, the interior feels rustic and authentic, as if you’ve stepped back in time to your grandmother’s home. The host is exceptionally kind, offering service in both Korean and English, and even prepared a delicious breakfast for us. I highly recommend this unique experience to any foreign traveler who wants to immerse themselves in the charm of a traditional Seoul hanok.
L’hôte est très discret La salle d’eau qui consiste en un tout petit lavabo et un flexible qui sert de douche à côté des wc : et pour la rejoindre il faut traverser la cour ;
