- Moritz (10/5): - Im Haus herrscht eine sehr angenehme Wohlfühlatmosphäre. Es ist alles sauber und gut gepflegt. Es gibt viele Angestellte, die durchweg sehr freundlich sind. Wir haben einige Tage vorher per Mail um vegetarische Verpflegung gebeten und wurden zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit japanisch bekocht. Sogar ohne Dashi. Wir empfehlen die Halbpension zu buchen. Es gibt im Ort nur wenige, eher einfache Restaurants. Die Onsenbäder wechseln vormittags/abends geschlechtlich und sind auch schön und jeweils mit kleinem Außenbereich. Bleiben Sie am Besten mindestens zwei Nächte um alle Annehmlichkeiten zu genießen. Wir haben uns auch mit kleinem Baby sehr willkommen gefühlt und haben dankenswerterweise einen privaten Speiseraum zugewiesen bekommen. Die Antworten auf Emailanfragen haben etwas länger gedauert.

Our room was absolutely huge with a tatami living room (tv, kotatsu, lounge, cupboards), bedroom with dim calm lighting, annex area with sink and amenities, heated toilet, and finally a beautiful wooden outdoor private onsen. Staff delivered clean yukata and treats each day, with fresh towels. The Japanese breakfast was truly a treat; tasted wonderful, fresh, with so much variety and to our surprise, it was served to us in a private room (there were multiple breakfast rooms, each morning labelled with the name of the guest on the door). We lived like pampered kings here for 3 nights. The experience was incredible and I highly recommend.

The onsen was nice and big and if you have tattoos you can book a private onsen for a small fee. The rooms are a bit small for 3 people but fine for 2.

- Christine (9/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal. Das Gepäck wurde ins Zimmer getragen und direkt zur Begrüßung ein Tee serviert. Die Onsen direkt im Haus sind sehr gut und laden zum ausführlichen Entspannen ein. Unser Kaseki-Erlebnis war von einem anderen Stern. Die Gänge sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmt, optisch einfach beeindruckend hergerichtet und serviert. Der Verzehr dann ist individuelle Geschmackssache, ob man sich traut z.B. eine Schnecke zu probieren. Im Hotel besteht die Möglichkeit eine Yukata zu tragen, ein überraschend angenehmes Kleidungsstück. Wir haben hier Körper und Geist Erholung geschenkt. Die Einrichtung ist sehr sehr sauber, aber wie das ganze Dorf in die Jahre gekommen. An vielen Stellen bemerkt man das Alter des Hauses. Die Toilette hat komisch gerochen.

- bodle (9/5): - Wafu-no-Yado Masuya exceeded every expectation. From arrival to checkout, the staff delivered warm, attentive service that truly embodies Japanese hospitality at its finest. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. We opted for breakfast only, and it was outstanding — fresh, beautifully presented, and served with the same gracious care that defined our entire stay. The onsen was fantastic. Clean, relaxing, and exactly what you’d hope for from a traditional Japanese hot spring experience. What really set Masuya apart was their complimentary shuttle service — from the train station to the hotel, and from the hotel directly to Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. It saved us so much time and energy, and made the whole experience feel completely effortless. If you’re visiting the Snow Monkey Park, this is simply the best place to stay. Don’t hesitate — just book it!

- Martina (9/5): Molto soddisfatta dell’esperienza - Ho apprezzato molto la gentilezza dello staff, l’atmosfera generale e tutti i servizi offerti. Gli onsen pubblici sono molto belli e anche l’esperienza dell’onsen privato è stata molto piacevole. La camera molto bella e spaziosa. La cena è la colazione una bellissima esperienza. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. La posizione è un po’ lontana dal centro ma comunque facilmente raggiungibile a piedi. Alcune parti della struttura sono un po’ datate ma nel complesso è stata una bellissima esperienza.

The environment was clean, peaceful and well maintained. The facilities were excellent and convenient for guests. The highlight for me was the traditional Japanese-style food. It was delicious and authentic. Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing experience.

Apprezzabile la possibilità di prenotare l'onsen privato per due. Il paesino sotto la neve è molto carino Purtroppo offrire il servizio di trasporto dalla stazione di Yudanaka all'arrivo, ma non un minimo di servizio alla partenza rappresenta una carenza abbastanza significativa. L'autobus (fermata non vicinissima) rischia di essere pieno e con le valigie (anche se avevamo solo i carry on) non è proprio piacevole
