Guest Reviews
- Barry (10/5): - for the price, it was excellent! we were very happy there for a 1 nite stay!
- Leonard (2/5): - The place smelled horrible, no phone, bugs in the bathroom matresses are worn-out
Never again!
- Thomas (6/5): - There was a unique perfume smell that was offputting and made the room stuffy. We had to air it out but that made the whole room cold in the morning. The towels didn't seem too clean either.
- Angeles (4/5): - Towel were durty. Room hade a durty smell no. Very recommended. But the view of the mountains spectacular.
- Leonard (4/5): - Typical low rent 1 star dump.
Toilet was clogged, bath fixtures were lose . Can't expect much for $95 a night.
Next time we visit Jim Thorpe, we'll spend more money in nicer settings .
- Verified traveler (10/5): Penn Terrace sleeping - This room was exactly as expected. Good cold AC thanks.
- Dayan (2/5): - I arrived at night with my partner, I arrived at 12 at night and I had to leave at 2 AM in the morning, the bed smelled bad and to top it all off I found 2 condoms on the floor, it seems like there was someone there and they didn't clean it well, everyone was dirty.
- Keith (4/5): Cheap you get what pay for Motel - Quick trip went with cheapest option. Hotel from the outside not in good condition. Bathroom was small but new and clean and same for small kitchen area. We booked for 2nights and left after first night. Carpet was sticky and the room smelled really bad. Stains on box spring and the mattress bowedinto the middle. Sheets were clean
- Jason W. (2/5): - Looked and felt like the Bates Motel. There were burns on the sheets, hot water didn't work and then came out scalding hot, stains all over the carpet, bad smells coming from the room and the toilet had cigarette burns.
- Cynthia (4/5): - Pros: hot shower & good WiFi. Cons: The property is very old & rundown. The sheets & towels were stained & threadbare. The mattresses are worn out & offer no support. The floor was not vacuumed as there was debris & food on the carpet. No TV when it rains because the satellite service goes out. Some of the rooms are smoking so the sidewalk in front of the rooms is littered with butts. The area is also very noisy. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this property.
- Kelli (8/5): - The staff was very friendly.Room was clean and smelled fresh.. Furniture could use some updating, as well as the bathroom… Overall a good overnight stay!
- nayda (8/5): - Needed a one night place to sleep for the price it was perfect for us.
- christine (10/5): - all good
- Robert (6/5): - It was basic.
- Urszula (6/5): - It is outdated but clean and safe it seems.
- Dawn (10/5): - The service was very friendly and no stairs right on ground level clean and convinenint .
- Robert (2/5): - Air conditioner didn't work, room needs to be clean better, hotel needs to be fixed
- John (10/5): - Property was clean quiet, and we felt safe. Great for an overnight stay
- Sergey (6/5): - Just a regular motel.
The staff is very helpful. The property condition could be better.
E.g. had to turn off the fridge to turn on the microwave as some sockets aren't working, another electric socket is right on top of the heater.
- Heath (2/5): A tent in the woods would be better - At first i was hesitant to write. Because this is someones mean of living but there should be sime standard they are held to and i paid for a place to stay and got a dump. Literally looked like animals lived in the room chewing on everything. Stood in 3 inches of water everytime i showered and got out of the shower to an inch of water on the floor. This place should be condemed and torn down.
- Daniel (10/5): - Staff was nice
- Lora (6/5): - no hot water???
- William (4/5): - No shampoo provided, soap was tiny, stains on the wall that could be wiped off easily, holes in the wall that could be spackled easily, spackle on a hole in the wall that could be sanded and painted easily, bathroom tiles popping up from the floor when you step on them air conditioner older than me, spigot on the sink that is loose, electrical sockets on the wall that only work sometimes, TV constantly glitching (and the weather was only a little cloudy, literally a drawing on one wall, TV remote only had some buttons working, gum stick to the wall and the lampshade, a lamp that wasn't working at all, bathroom wall decor is from the 80s, shower only works when you turn the hot and cold way up and it comes out of the shower head and bottom bath, guy blasting music in the parking lot at night, cobwebs around the door moulding and they didn't have my Expedia reservation. But the foam mattress was nice.
- Andrei (4/5): - Liked only: location, friendly employee, parking, could open the window for fresh air.
The rest is terrible.
- Vincent (2/5): - No hot water. No tv (1 channel ). Room was covered in spackle, not painted. Charged $86.00. Rip off.
- Victor (2/5): Very bad management - Unlawful activity by the management 😡😡
- Carly (6/5): - This motel is very rundown and not too clean. There was a dead mosquito smashed on the bathroom wall and various stains on the duvet. There were bits of marijuana on the floor and a tank top from a previous guest. I would not stay here again and feel it’s overpriced
- Ezra (2/5): - The room had a combination of chemical and tobacco smell that was uncomfortable to be around. As I understand it, I was given a non-smoking room but the residual effects of the tobacco smoke were quite evident.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very unkept, Dirty bathroom, pillows were flat as a sheet of paper.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - An old property
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room smelled like cheap cologne and the area was very concerning. They need a better sign to let people know where the property is. Will not be staying there again
- Russell (8/5): Nice place to stay - Nice hotel just outside Hazelton , off the beaten path. Short drive to shopping restaurants, etc..
- Ryan (8/5): Nice place - Room was nice enough. Door was drafty, some slight damage to some walls. Room was very clean.
- Regan (8/5): Good times - Stay was good the staff was good and service was good. Had an issue with the one room I was in. I was able to go to management tell them about the problem with the shower. And they took care of me quickly by giving me another room with no issues. Staff are very nice and polite along with everyone else.
- Luckydog (6/5): Basic - Motel is very basic and fine for the price. Set your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.
- MaryBeth (4/5): A bad stay!!!!! - Alot of room for improvement on their cleaning of the rooms. It needs to be update. And the walls r so thin that you can hear everything that goes on in that room. The noise was bad . Cars coming and going all night long. I would not recommend this place.
- Cheston (8/5): Maintenance Issues, No Hot Water in Sink, Noisy - I booked two rooms (6 and 7) for a family trip. There was plenty of parking, and this motel was in a good location, close to Hazleton and other key scenic areas for Fall Foliage. The TV was great, as was the channel lineup and the wifi was pretty good. There were some things which affected the trip though. In both room 6 and 7, there was not hot water in the sink. Also the light in room 7 near the sink was not working all of the time. The sink stopper in room 7 was broken. The shower in room 6 was broken and did not work. Much of the water flow was to the bath and did not go to the shower. The hotel had noisy patrons. At around 4AM, the guests in room 5 blew their horn and their car alarm kept sounding, then they were loud in the room. Also, another guest's car alarm sounded off and on through the night. I am not sure of the clientele this motel caters to or attracts, but apparently it is not good. I do not recommend this motel unless you're ok with these things. I would not stay here again.
- marcia (4/5): - Needed a place to stay and where we needed wasn’t available this was the closest we could find but it’s really old and needs a remodel for sure. We needed a bed and it did have that.
- Karl (10/5): - Bare minimums, but very clean and quite place would stay here again
- Margaret (10/5): - Wonderful place, woods right behind, price is right and you get everything you need. Amazing sounds at night of grasshoppers and birds. Very relaxing and easily accessible from the road. Also all dining options are within 5 min drive. Will be back!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I was charged all but double for early check-in. There were holes in the wall. Only 2 pillows on a queen bed and no peephole
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I wasn't expecting much for the price but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not the Hilton but the place was clean. The guy at the desk was helpful and the location was close to where I needed to be. I would stay here again.
- Bamagirl (6/5): - Needs to be renovated needs more staff. Parking lot needs work
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean good price quiet location fits my needs second time I stayed there in the last 2 months
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean no problems checking in plenty of hot water
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked that it was single story. Didn't like that there is no thermostat in the room; just an ac unit and heater.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The neighbors were Sweet and Considerate. The staff was always helping out.
The owners were nice too.
- Barbara (8/5): Worth the price - It was fine. We got what we paid for. I can’t complain.
- Adams (8/5): - Clean and cheap can't beat the price, I will definitely come back
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was in gret shape, bed very comfortable. Nice new fridge and microwave. Very easy place to get to off I-81.
- Masudul (6/5): - The area was good but the room was smelling smoky, carpet dirty like sticky moisture also hot water was not working looks like that was very old construction and taking over charges. We are unhappy to stayed at this hotel
- kelly (8/5): a little out dated but really clean - in the area to visit family when we booked another motel that we had to leave because of bugs, this motel was the only one available to accommodate us in the middle of the night. it was a little outdated but is was really clean and bug free we would use again .
