Guest Reviews
- Mingxuan (10/5): -
- Abramovich (10/5): I hope we are lucky enough to return to this exact property - I have traveled all over the world, but this property has officially taken the top spot as my favorite stay. The beauty of the grounds is matched only by the warmth of the hospitality. We were treated to a lovely tour by Augusto, and the sweet welcome from his son—complete with a handmade nature crown—was a memory I will cherish.
Inside, the attention to detail with the antiques and furniture is remarkable. If you stay here, be sure to crack your window in the morning; the sound of the birds is the most peaceful way to start your day. If you appreciate fine decor and genuine personal touches, this is the place to be.
Located 4-5 minutes from Cortona parking. Perfect location.
- Gianmarco (10/5): Soggiorno perfetto.
Consigliatissimo
- Elmendorp (10/5): Love villa Augusto - Augusto is an AMAZING host. We can’t wait to come back in the summer. We ended up staying in most of the day because we were in love with the villa.
- Brad (9/5): -
- Kyoko (10/5): -
- Eriksson (10/5): Täydellinen majoitus meidän tarpeisiin - Sijainti täydellinen.
Majoitukseen ei kuulunut aamiaista. Erikseen tilattu aamiainen oli erinomainen.
Koko alue uima-altaineen siisti.
Saimme kattavan kertomuksen talon mielenkiintoisesta historiasta. Osa aurinkotuoleista olisi kaivannut huoltoa.
- Denise (10/5): -
- richard (9/5): Fantastic - Everything
- Michael (9/5): Proper old fashioned Italian villa - Spaciousness, classy, lovely pool. Nothing
- Annabel (10/5): - Augusto was amazing and gave us all the details about the property and best places to visit nearby. Absolutely lovely stay and would recommend to anyone !!!
- Heinz-Peter (10/5): - Alles bestens - wie schon im letzten Jahr beschrieben.
- Rachel (8/5): - The pool was wonderful and we enjoyed the peaceful gardens. It was lovely to walk around the countryside. The owner gave us wonderful tips on Cortona and the surrounding towns via text. The rooms in the 2 bedroom villa we had for 6 nights were dark, lacking natural light. In the photos they are very lit up for the purpose of advertising.
The single beds are very narrow. We didn’t get to meet the owner but were greeted by someone else; she was a bit abrupt and although this was not a big deal to us, it wasn’t the warmth we had expected in the reviews.

- Sky (10/5): - Thank you Augusto — a wonderful host who booked us a lovely dinner and was so helpful. The pool is lovely and the house is super charming. Special shoot out to Augusto’s unique olive oil !
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristian (10/5): - Augusto was a great host. We appreciated the recommendations of local attractions in the area. The deluxe villa was very clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the garden that is on the property. By far our best stay in Tuscany.
- Anonymous (10/5): Beautiful villa with shared pool at foot of Cortona -
- Bailey (8/5): Augusto the host was very knowledgeable of the local area. He seem to be well known by all of the Cortona locals. The pr - The Villa Augusto was like staying in a museum with its wealth of old world furniture and paintings. The pool area was exquisite. The bedding could be updated with a new mattress, bedding and pillows.
- Michaela (10/5): Beautiful spacious villa & grounds, full of history and period pieces. Helpful friendly host! ❤️ - Stunning grounds and beautiful villa with period pieces and rich in history. Very spacious and the pool was great. We had it to ourselves!
Agousto was so helpful, he even collected and dropped us off. Great communication and very friendly. Agousto also allowed us to check in early and out late which made our one night experience so much more special and we are really grateful for that. The master bedroom is just jaw dropping if you like period settings and grandeur. Enormous bedroom with fly screens and huge chandelier.. Really cosy large bed.
All rooms very spacious. Kitchen a little old but is ok. 15 min walk to supermarkets. Would need a car for longer visits to explore.. 5 mins drive to cortona camucia train station.. Fantastic villa, such a friendly family. Thankyou Agousto 🙏 Nothing
- Faye (10/5): The perfect Italian dream villa for your vacation - This was the most beautiful property i've ever stayed on.
The exact vibe we were looking for, a true tuscan villa.
Beautiful decoration and felt like a Italian dream. Augusto and his team were beyond attentive. We needed an umbrella, one was there in 5 minutes. Augusto paid us a lovely visit offering us many suggestions on where to go and how to make the most of our 4 days there. I couldn't ask for a better 4 days and better host. nothing.
- Nasrin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johanna (4/5): A disappointing stay in Cortona - The unit did not meet our expectations The unit did not meet our expectations.
- Phillip (10/5): Wonderful Stay - We really enjoyed our stay! Our host Augusto was knowledgeable, gracious, helpful and witty. The historic property is quiet and comfortable. Vintage Tuscany. It's perfectly positioned between Cortona and Camucía... a quick drive to a supermarket, pharmacy, restaurant or anything else you might need!
- Mar (10/5): We loved our villa and the grounds. Felt like a movie! -
- Rob (10/5): Wonderful stay - Full size apartment with parking on site, close to town and restaurants.
- Sally (10/5): In a nutshell very impressed and highly recommended. - Thé property is set in beautiful surroundings. The Villa was beautifully clean and our host thoroughly knowledgeable and a great host!
- Iza (10/5): Exceptional - Breathtaking villa and atmosphere — perfect for a few-day getaway, getting lost, and exploring an all-Italian experience. We felt like we were in a movie, walking around the villas built a few centuries ago.
Augusto was an incredible host, helping us with everything. We had a problem reaching the villa from the train station. Augusto provided us with a ride from the station, helped us to hire a car in Cortona, and explained everything about the town, including sending detailed information about what to eat, see and explore in Cortona, and Toscana in general. Definitely going back! Everything was great.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - Great facilities and Augusto was a fantastic host Nothing
- Beth (8/5): Very good - Good location near Cortona. Hot water in the shower and supermarket nearby. Grounds and outside space very nice, although we didn't use them as weather wet when we were there. Coffee tables would have been useful, also a larger saucepan and bowls.
- Veso (10/5): The most authentic Tuscany experience you can have is Villa Augusto and travelling its surrounding region. - The best thing about villa Augusto truly is Augusto. He is a true local with extensive knowledge about the majority of cities, museums, restaurants, coffee shops, wineries and everything Tuscanny, and shares his knowledge in a perfect way to enhance your trip in the region of Val d'Orcia and beyond. The villa itself is stunning inside, with its authentic furniture and design. The fact that its family owned by Augusto's family for many generations makes it a very personal experience.
- Alana (10/5): Exceptional - I'd been looking forward to staying at Villa Augusto for a long time and it did not disappoint! Augusto was a wonderful host who informed us of the history of the property and showed us through the property at check-in. An authentic Tuscan stay, I hope one day we get to return. Loved every second
- Yogesh (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alessandro (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Really easy check in with Augusto. Beautiful setting and pool. One of our favourite stays
- Donovan (10/5): Lovely quiet property - Lovely grounds - very spacious - clean Expected a washing machine- didn’t find it
- Tereska (9/5): Bellisimo, nothing short of perfect. - The property and grounds were everything we needed, peaceful and comfortable The mosquitoes, although nothing to do with the amenities.
- Davo (8/5): Large and well located apartment in good location and lovely garden and pool. - Lovely large apartment in an historic villa with beautiful gardens and stunning pool. It’s walking distance to a mini mart and about 40 minutes walk uphill to Cortona. Also an easy drive to Arezzo, Montepulciano and lake Trasimeno. Augusto was a very attentive and knowledgeable host.
- Genevieve (10/5): Truly paradise - Wonderful host with exception recommendations on restaurants and all the beautiful sights in Tuscany. Beautiful pool was big bonus. We have been in Italy for a month and these 5 nights were the best by far!!
- Dingnan (10/5): Exceptional - We love this beautiful holiday home and the well-maintained gardens in the surroundings. The compound is conveniently located in between several historical cities and towns, and one can park right in front of his house door. Supermarkt is also close by.
- Ron (10/5): Unparalleled beauty, comfort, and hospitality - This place is truly extraordinary! Its stunning beauty transports you into a living museum. The expansive space offers every imaginable amenity: a fully equipped kitchen, a charming garden, modern air conditioning and heating systems, a washing machine, and a consistently hot shower. Additionally, it features delightful surprises you might not have expected, such as a pool table, a grand piano, and a swimming pool.
The value for money of this place is above and beyond what we expected.
Moreover, Augusto is an exceptional host, surpassing all expectations. He is a treasure trove of tips and tailored itineraries, always ready to assist with anything you might need. It’s hard to imagine returning to Tuscany and staying anywhere but at Augusto’s.
- Niko (8/5): Very good - Unique small family estate in pleasant grounds.
Augusto was attentive and helpful and sent whats app excerpts on highlights of Toscana etc
Unusual two separate villette for rent.
Ours on one floor ..all ground was certainly filled with family relics ....but... not conducive to relaxation.
Not comfortable for cooking nor sitting ...needs modern facilities.
Big open space...impressive to.look at but lacks
homely sophistication.
When staying in it..for 2 days .
The maisonette opposite was more modern and cosier on two floors ....however could be a nuisance with bedrooms upstairs.
I was grateful personally to be given a tour of the residence and learn something of the history.
Howwver
My partner was disinterested and thought that our host was ' blowing his own bags, to gain favours and taking up our time for own his own gain ! Needs updating ..the property
a tad neglected.. ..needs loving care and attention regularly to maintain all buildings and grounds.
Augusto was hoping for a 10 vote review , but as I said...this would give a distorted , superficial
review.
I want to be honest .
- Lidia (10/5): This property was a dream come true. With a beautiful antique interior which expressed so much history, to the beautiful - This property was everything and more! The owner Augusto was so helpful and welcoming. He was easily accessible by WhatsApp and provided amazing recommendations for places to eat and see whilst we were in Cortona. This beautiful villa was so special, with a lot of history and culture in the property. The pool and the outdoor setting was magical. We did not want to leave! We can’t wait to go back!
- Placzek (9/5): Superb -
- Jim (10/5): A memorable experience living in such a spacious, historical, and unique villa from a different era - Our host Augusto was superb in helping us get from the train station to his villa. There are very few taxis in the area so be prepared to call Augusto for assistance. Alert! No taxis although a number to call is posted at the station to no avail. Augusto gave a thorough walk through of the expansive property and interior of the home. Voluminous interior with amazing space and history. Amazingly quiet area. Gracious host available for all services including arranging a rental car. One of the most accommodating hosts we've encountered in our month of travel in Italy. Clothes washing machine was a bonus. Instructions on working the dishwasher. Another pan for cooking please.
- Yuzhe (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect experience.
- Rogerson (10/5): Just a dream! We'll be back - We rented two of the villas with friends and family and it was just a dream! Lazing by the pool all day, having long table dinners at night, and only a 10 min drive up the hill to Cortona. Lots of local co-ops/shopping markets to buy all the pasta and prosecco you like! This was my third time to Villa Augusto, and I'll be back again. Felt like I needed to barter a bit at the end with our host over city tax, extra beds etc. Was a bit of sour note to end a week long trip on. Also communication with the host was very patchy, I had to reach out via multiple mediums to get a response.
- Shyam (10/5): We had a wonderful stay at Villa Augusto! - We had a wonderful stay at Villa Augusto! The Villa absolutely exceeded our expectations. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is, and it far exceeded our dreams of staying in a Tuscan Villa. Our host, Augusto, is fantastic - a very warm, generous, kind and considerate host, who was very helpful, attentive and also a great sense of humour! Augusto went out of his way to tell us in detail with great recommendations about places to eat, drink and visit around Cortona and Tuscany. Thanks to Augusto’s tips, we visited some unique places and saw beautiful things that we would otherwise have not seen in Tuscany. The Villas are stunning, so beautifully decorated with antiquities, paintings, sculptures and so much character, and also so comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and cosy. The kitchen was excellent. The air-conditioning and heating worked very well. The garden is spectacular, as is the swimming pool. The Villa is in an excellent location near Camucia, and at the foothills of Cortona. We wished we could have stayed longer, and we will be back to stay at Villa Augusto. Nothing. Everything exceeded our expectations.
- Pierrick (8/5): Very good -
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional - The villa is a rare gem, as is the host and his wonderful family. The patina of a bygone era envelopes the visitor as you enter the marvelous rooms filled with antique furniture and original floors and walls, designed for a noble family. The garden is really a park, peaceful and romantic, and a walk to Cortona leads through fields of wild Irises framing the olive groves. The host is a true connoisseur of his city and surroundings and has fantastic recommendations and shares them freely, taking his time to explain everything in detail. Every minute was enjoyable and we plan on coming back for a longer stretch to this wonderful corner of Italy.
- Raquel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cosimo (10/5): we were a group of ten staying for 2 nights. the place is full of local and family history. we had a great time really g -
- Malva313 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martina (10/5): Beautiful Tuscan Villa nestled at the base of Cortona - This property was beautiful and has a lot of history. Augusto the owner and host of the property was very friendly, informative, helpful, kind, attentive and has the best sense of humor he had us laughing our entire stay. We muss our Augusto!
- Domenico (10/5): we had a lovely, comfortable, private stay and we hated to leave. - The Villa is close to the small city of Camucia, on a quiet country lane. The Villa is beautifully decorated and arranged. There is a room with a grand piano-in tune!, another with a billiard table. The pool was huge and although it was too late in the season to swim, we did enjoy an afternoon poolside on the comfortable lounge chairs.. everything was wonderful.
- Andrew (10/5): Fantastic! Thanks for a great stay! -
- Silvie (10/5): Exceptional - The villa was beautiful, full of charm and spacious
The facilities and the fabulous garden with big swimming pool were great for us and our children
Augusto was very helpful and had many good tips about the neighboorhood
We had a wonderful vacation in Villa Augusto We had it all! :-)
- Kathryn (10/5): Fantastic Property & Location - A first class welcome on arrival, an outstanding property, pool and location in the foothills of Cortona everything exceeded our expectations.
The two bedroomed deluxe villa property set in the grounds of the main country house is very spacious, spotlessly clean and very well maintained.lt was perfect for our stay.
The owners are friendly and hardworking with nothing too much trouble to enhance your stay.
The large pool and sun lounge area surrounded by fig plum and peach trees is perfect for relaxation and to take in the beautiful view.
Augusto had plenty of recommendations for Cortona and an award winning coffee house in even closer Camucia.
- Enrique (8/5): Maravillosa propiedad al pie de Cortona - Excelente propiedad, un poco vieja pero bien conservada, mucho espacio y con áreas exteriores preciosas. Augusto el propietario es súper amable.
