Guest Reviews
- Hilde (10/5): - Zeer lekker ontbijt, vers geperst appelsiensap, vers fruit, lekkere croissant....
Heel grote en mooie kamer, vriendelijk personeel
- Ron (10/5): What a find - A Wonderful upscale b and b just minutes from the old town in honfluer and the port. The rooms were huge, with a separate seating area and dining table in one room (this is where your breakfast is served each morning) and a lovely bright spacious and clean bedroom. The en-suite has a large walk in shower and bath and again was spotlessly clean.
The bed was very comfortable, best nights sleep I have had in a long time.
Breakfast was fantastic with the host (frank) bringing you fresh bread, croissants, crepes, eggs, cheeses, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and coffee to your room at your choice of time.
All of this in one of the loveliest little towns in Normandy. Would definitely visit again.
- Patrick (10/5): - Firstly, the hotel is beautiful. Exactly the kind of place you want to stay but figure it will never be as good as you hope. This hotel is. In spades. We had the attic room. Well basically all of the attic. Welcome was fantastic. And the breakfast was exquisite. Despite being so close to town, it was really quiet. Plus off street parking. Made for a wonderful although very short stay. We will definitely be back.
- lynda (10/5): - Beautiful ambience and lovely hosts. Accommodations were decorated tastefully and spaces were so much larger than expected.
- Olivier (10/5): - À refaire , À recommander,
- David (10/5): Eccentric and eclectic, marvellous! - Charming place with equally charming hosts - nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent breakfast served in the beautiful garden.
Eccentric and eclectic, marvellous building though the stairs are steep.
Highly recommended for something a little different.
- Urs (10/5): Gute Lage - Super gute Lage alles ok
- Matthew (10/5): - This boutique family-run hotel was amazing… the location, the hospitality, the quaintness, and the friendly service by Franc! And walking distance to the heart of Honfleur with many small shops and restaurants. The breakfast was the best we had on our entire trip throughout France. We would definitely stay here again.
- Sandra (10/5): - Stayed in the Annex, an Old house beautifully restored with a great use of the layout and space, amazing windows, comfy bed and pillows, big and stylish suites, love it! Perfect location, close to everything. Delicious breakfast, homemade jam, freshly squeezed orange juice, a variety of just baked bread, very good cheese and charcuterie. Perfect in any ways.
- Barbro (10/5): - The building, the apartment, garden even though it rained, the breakfast

Merci encore
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff here, especially Frank, were absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so kind. The breakfast was all homemade and was absolutely delicious.
The rooms are all unique and it was an unusual and lovely place to stay. Very central to the town as well. Would definitely recommend this very special place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Position and facilities
Staff very helpful, breakfast excellent
- Marco (10/5): Wonderful stay - Idyllic atmosphere, wonderful hosts, delicious breakfast, amazing hospitality, perfect location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful building. Great location. Huge rooms and extremely comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, wonderful breakfast room, clean and unique!
- Ashley (10/5): - My favorite hotel I have ever been to! I dream about it daily and wish I can go back all the time. Friendly staff, adorable and comfortable rooms, and the most delicious breakfast you will ever have!
- susan (10/5): One-off accommodation!! - Quirky, one-off accommodation. Very different from boring, standard hotels. Need a sense of adventure & fun. Plus love of old uneven buildings. Friendly helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They said they had not been paid,so we had to pay again, can we get our money back?
- tom (10/5): Little gem in Honfleur - We were lucky to find such a great venue. It has a lovely feel about it, with tons of authentic character, owners and staff who bend over backwards to help with anything, and breakfasts to die for. Also, the location is perfect, being just a short walk into the heart of Honfleur.
- Lindsay (10/5): Completely charming stay - Everything about A l'Ecole Buissonnière was so wonderfully charming! The owners of the B&B were extremely friendly and helpful in getting our parking situation figured out (the lot across the street was full and street parking is pretty scarce in that area, so they drove my husband to a private spot to park the car and brought him back). The decor is beautiful and rustic, there's a cute cat who lives there, and the breakfast provided was absolutely outstanding with tons of choices, including a bunch of delicious French pastries. I would absolutely stay there again if I'm back in Honfleur!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice hosts. Very clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenience, character and a bit quirky - The staff was wonderful and very helpful! Breakfast was good with many choices including great coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh baked goods.
Our room was comfortable once we got into it but it was accessible only by a narrow (somewhat wobbly) spiral staircase. We left our suitcases downstairs and only carried up what we needed. If we were here again we would request something on the ground floor.
- Michael (6/5): - Our room really wasn’t functional. Ceilings slanted only giving an about a 4 foot path around room. I hit my head on beam above toilet I’m 5 ft 9. Bed set on floor, not real comforable, I had to crawl into bed not to hit my head. We had to go to the patio to get wifi, not very convenient when it was raining! We were on 3rd floor of a converted attic. My wife hit her head a few times and she is 5’4”. Room was very clean the staff was very nice, and they had agood breakfast. Our room had a very nice tub that did have adequate headroom.
- Alex (10/5): Great hotel and staff - Really good location; very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, help with parking. The building dates from much earlier times but the rooms are spacious and quaint. Definitely worth staying there. Quiet and just a block or so from the huge crowds!
- bruno (8/5): - The parking is a public car park near by
- Verified traveler (10/5): A true gem - Wonderful family run hotel. Everyone very helpful and nice. Location is amazing. Walking distance to all attractions , restaurants and shops. Great delicious breakfast by the fireplace. Highly recommended.
- Michael (10/5): Charming b&b - Loved this charming little b&b! It’s in a great location in walking distance to the water and all the restaurants! tje breakfast was all freshly made in a sweet room with a fire place...very cozy romantic feel!
- Renee (10/5): Old, old school converted into intimate hotel - We loved this quirky hotel with its old winding staircases and the architecturally interesting rooms. Our room was large and lovely and the location , right in the center of everything and walking distance to everything. We parked our car through the hotel and never saw it until we left. Father and grown son
run this delightful inn with a lovely courtyard and intimate room for a delicious breakfast every morning.
What a treat it was to stay here. If you are looking for a Hilton type experience this is not for you as it is small, warm, charming, intimate and lovely in its own way.
- Dawn (10/5): Charming hotel! - My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in Oct. This hotel is so charming from its courtyard entrance to the cozy bedrooms with embroidered pillowcases. The complimentary breakfast was the best I had experienced in all of Normandy. A roaring fire greeted us in the breakfast room. The homemade crepes, jellies and spreads were excellent, as were the croissants and other pastries. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Mary S (10/5): Excellent Choice B&B!! - This is a real authentic, perfect, Honfleur B&B. Everything was awe-inspiring. Each room feels like it’s own Pied-à-terre. There is no reception desk. The innkeepers expect your arrival through the door into a courtyard that has their charming little restaurant, a gift shop that sells their homemade products and through another door you can see their immaculate little kitchen where they make the most superb breakfast that we had in all of France. Do not miss this experience!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Warm, Charming, Welcoming
- We loved this little place! The staff were very friendly and helpful, made us feel at home, and spoke English well.
- kerry (10/5): What a gem right in the heart of Honfleur - Couldn't fault this beautiful little place in the heart of Honfleur. The staff , very much especially the young guy from Ukraine ( apologies didn't catch his name ) were polite, extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay very enjoyable
Situated in a small quiet side street, a very short walk to port, 2 minutes from all the shops couldnt be better
Would definitely stay here again 😃
- Irene (10/5): Best hidden gem - anywhere! - This hotel must be the epitome of the very best in hidden jewels! We were absolutely thrilled with the hotel, our accommodation and the wonderful family who make everything happen so easily. They were helpful beyond the call of duty. We cannot praise this beautiful place enough !
- Michelle (10/5): Charming and unique small hotel close to everythin - My husband and I stayed at L'ecole bussionnière for three nights in early August. The staff was so kind, breakfast was amazing, and the room was large and comfortable with a lot of character. We stayed in L'etude, which is in the attic. There is air conditioning provided but we did not need it as it cooled down in the evening. We recommend that you enjoy some time relaxing in the courtyard as well as take the bikes for a ride around Honfleur.
- Pierre (10/5): Stay in Honfleur - Lots of character and a very charming and comfortable room in this 18th century building. Service was great overall, breakfast selection was excellent and the location unbeatable. We parked the car (10 Euros per night extra for an off-the-street spot) and explored everything on foot. One young kitchen helper wasn't friendly at all and the promised WIFI service was non-existent in our room (it did work in the dining room).
- Jean-Phillippe (10/5): Great little hotel - Great place, very comfy, staff was very nice and male staffer (didn't get his name) was brilliant.
We love everything about it except for one thing is that there are no little fridges in rooms. we travel a lot and love small boutique hotels like this one but a small fridge should be standard in rooms.
Everything else was perfect, great stay and would recommend to everyone.
- Louis (10/5): Feeling welcomed - The staff was so welcoming and ready upon our arrival that it set the tone for our entire stay. Felt home. The breakfast menu was bountiful and delicious. And the room was quaint, spacious, and cozy.
