Guest Reviews
- Angela (8/5): Good neighbourhood, very easy getting downtown on the MRT - Room was a reasonable size. It would have been nice to have ordered breakfast from the displayed menu outside Baba Chews & to have European porridge for example available to hotel guests, as well as the standard eggs menu
- There was no real spacious lounge area as you might expect in such a hotel
- Tina (9/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Lovely hotel with great attention to detail with respect to local culture. - Staff were very helpful and polite. Interior decor with its attention to local culture. It also smelt lovely. No idea what the scent was but it smelt nice as soon as you walked through the door. Heritage view was amazing. Roof terrace was rather small so difficult to find a personal space if busy.
- paulreid23 (10/5): Peranakan style to the max - Love Peranakan style and the Hotel Indigo Katong goes all-in on it.
When we walked in to our room and saw the colourful tiles, multi-coloured vinyl strap outdoor chair and foot bow in the bathroom I couldn't help but smile.
The decor is just terrific and makes you feel good. Much more uplifting than the dark wood of our previous hotel.
The staff were terrific; maybe the decor lifts their spirits, too. We had a problem with the air conditioning a couple of days into our stay but it was attended to immediately with multiple apologies and a follow-up call that night to make sure everything was working okay. Management even sent a basket of fruit by way of further apology; not necessary but appreciated all the same.
The pool is a welcome relief from the Singapore heat, although shade can be at a premium.
The bed was very comfortable and the shower hot.
- Robert (10/5): Great stay at a very nice hotel. - Very safe neighborhood with numerous restaurants and shopping as well close to the hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly and were fluent in English. Subway was only a few blocks away. Breakfast was excellent at Bubba Chews. We liked everything about it.
- MorrieJ_12 (10/5): A warm welcome back to the Indigo Singapore Katong. - The Indigo Singapore Katong hotel is a wonderful place to stay, if you want to be near the airport, but away from the bustle of the city. There are buses on East Coast Highway to other MRT hubs, and the MRT Train/subway is about 900 metres away at Marine Parade MRT. My room was great, large, fully functional with all the facilities needed. Meals can be taken at the adjoining Baba Chews restaurant or the many restaurants on East Coast Highway,, just steps away. Front desk staff were courteous, friendly and efficient, the cleaning/huse staff did a great job and were approachable if anything was needed. Bar staff on the roof bar were great. I had a great time and look forward to a return visit.

- 703jennim (10/5): Fabulous hotel - We spent 4 nights at Indigo Hotel Katong Singapore and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Singapore. When we booked we were a bit concerned as to whether we had done the right thing by not booking in a more touristy zone but in the end we were delighted with our choice. Katong is such a lovely, vibrant neighbourhood and the Marine Parade MRT is a very easy 5 minute walk from the hotel and is such an efficient way to get around Singapore. The hotel is also very conveniently located for getting to and from the airport. The staff were great, so friendly and helpful, they went beyond to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The breakfast was SUPERB, and we also had dinner at their in house restaurant Baba Chews the one night, which was the best meal we had in Singapore. This hotel is definitely the place to stay!
- paulkJ9034RV (10/5): Singapore short stay visit - The Staff were very friendly and helpful .The restaurant attached for breakfast was handy and the staff especially Mariel were great. The hotel is handily located for the airport and tourist attractions. Mrt TE26 is only a 7 min walk away. Plenty of bars and places to eat around the hotel.

- janine (10/5): We loved the hotel interiors, the super helpful and polite staff and the roof top bar and pool. Hope to get back there s - Loved the location-15minutes taxi ride from the airport or you could take the MTA and it’s less than 5minutes to the hotel from the station.
The same line takes you into Marina Bay Gardens. Great vibe in Katong and lots of restaurants Can’t think of anything

It ticks e - This hotel is in a brilliant location, close to excellent bars and restaurants, and airport. The rooms are quirky and comfortable and well equipped. The rooftop pool, bar and gym were appreciated and the view of Katong is splendid. We loved the breakfast, with a mix of à la carte and Asian buffet. Indigo really offers value for money with what’s on offer here. No dislikes.
- Jason (10/5): - Great hotel, excellent staff. good location close to MRT station.
- Anthony28Manchester (10/5): New Home at Indigo Singapore - Happy to say i found a new home in Singapore, After 5 years of staying at Intercon Bugis i had struggled to find a hotel that i was very comfortable in. Finally ound it a Indigo Katong, Great hotel, very personal service, you get a nice welcome every time you walk through the door, they ask you for feedback and they welcome it, breakfast is simple but good quality and enough selection, room is of a good size and nicely decorated, location is great, really feels like a neighbourhood hotel. Thanks Indigo
- Abdul (8/5): Great stay - The hotel’s design struck a perfect balance between modern style and quirky character, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated, giving the space a distinctive charm that set it apart from more conventional stays.
My family and I were especially impressed by the level of comfort throughout our visit. The rooms were well-appointed and inviting, making it easy to relax after a long day. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional customer service. The front desk staff were consistently warm, professional, and eager to help, while the breakfast team ensured each morning started on a positive note with attentive and friendly service.
Breakfast itself was a highlight of our stay. There was a wide variety of options available, catering to different tastes and preferences, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. It was the perfect way to begin each day, and we genuinely looked forward to it.
Overall, the combination of stylish design, comfort, and outstanding service made our stay memorable, and we would happily return in the future.
- Patricia (10/5): Excellente expérience - Bel hôtel original Prix élevé
- PSPJeff (10/5): Our first stay but we will definitely be back! - We had a one night stay in Singapore before departing on a cruise and decided to try out a new (for us) IHG hotel and we are glad we did! For context, I am Diamond level with IHG One Rewards. This got us upgraded to a "Heritage View" room overlooking this historical part of Singapore. Fantastic view! I didn't realize there is such a large portion of the city still void of skyscrapers with so many beautiful shop houses. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk from the new Thompson East Coast Line on the MRT at the Marine Parade station.
The room itself is spectacular. The Peranakan history of the area is reflected in the decor throughout the hotel. Love all the colors and patterns. Very comfortable bed, a nice sitting area and a huge, round soaking tub with an Asian dragon carved into the side. Very cool! The room must be very well sound insulated as friends in another hotel were talking about the huge storm that rolled through Singapore and kept waking them up. We heard nothing and I'm normally a light sleeper.
I chose breakfast as welcome amenity and it did not disappoint. They have plated breakfasts here with a small buffet of fruits, yogurts and such. The coffee was delicious, the best of the trip. The only downside for me: If you wanted orange juice there was a basket of oranges and a press to squeeze out the juice. While I'm sure many love that freshness, that was too much work for me early in the morning when I'm not awake yet. The bacon was also the best we had on our trip.
We enjoyed the hotel and location so much, we wished we had more time. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

- Amelia (9/5): Fantastica - Bom pequeno almoco.
- Finn (9/5): Really good hotel, with lovely staff - perfect for a city stop over. - Staff were really lovely and helpful, giving useful advice for someone new to the city.
Breakfast was surprisingly good.
Nice to be able to cool down in the pool as Singapore can be quite hot and humid. Hard to find any negatives.
- Christie (9/5): Lovely unique hotel. Loved the location close to great bars and a lovely local vibe in the area. Also close to the MRT t - Lovely design and considered touches in the rooms, lovely front desk staff who were really helpful

- Suziq1957 (10/5): Fabulous welcome and stay at The Indigo. - We loved the quiet location. Having been to Singapore many times it was lovely to see a quieter, traditional area. There are so many quirky shops and cafes and interesting architecture close by. The MRT at Marine Parade is close by and only 3 stops from Garden on the Bay.
Its proximity to the airport is also a bonus.
The hotel itself is classy and clean with a Peranakan theme. So much nicer and memorable than a Western chain.
The welcome the staff, the pool and the rooms were all first class.
I would love to return. There was nothing to dislike.

Outstanding service and decor. - The hotel decor is especially charming reflecting the Peranakan Houses in this area. The foot bowl in the bathroom was a lovely touch.Staff were outstanding and offered assistance and suggestions.
- FrequentFlier756108 (10/5): Exception Service - On 21 March, I checked into Hotel Indigo Katong for the first time, and I must say it has already left a wonderful impression on me—it was the perfect check-in experience.
I would especially like to commend Debbie from the front office team for her exceptional hospitality. Debbie was sincere, warm, and incredibly observant throughout the check-in process. She made me feel genuinely welcomed and at ease, and her attentiveness to detail did not go unnoticed. It’s clear that she takes pride in her work and truly cares about the guest experience.
Thank you for setting such a high standard of service right from the start—I’m very much looking forward to the rest of my stay.
- Thurnheer14 (10/5): Top Breakfast - Best Breakfast ever. Top rooftop Pool and Bar. Nice rooms. Excellent choice for Singapore.
- L6764HT_ (10/5): Great Stay Thanks to Amazing Staff - I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help.
I would especially like to highlight Afiqah Safura, who was exceptionally helpful throughout my stay. She consistently assisted me with any room-related issues and made sure everything was resolved quickly and efficiently. In addition, she gave great recommendations on places to eat and helped me find shops for anything I needed.
Her positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile made my experience much more comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you for the excellent service!
- nicklW7493UF (8/5): Good Rest - Different aesthetics but very nice comfortable hotel in Katong district and away from the chaos of Orchard Road . Close to seafood area. Would go back.
- Anniecrocky (10/5): Quiet and Good Value for Money - Very well appointed and spotlessly clean. The hotel is a chain but felt very intimate and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We had room 1315 on the 13th floor, it was quiet & had great views. It was very well appointed with nice touches which made it feel more than an anonymous hotel room.It was very close to the Marine Parade stop on the MRT train system which took you into the centre quickly. Staff were lovely, nothing too much trouble and the breakfast at Baba Chews was excellent. Varied choice, very good quality and staff were on hand to explain local dishes. As a vegetarian I had plenty of choice. Infinity pool was nicely appointed and had great views.
- shilpad622 (10/5): Great experience - I loved my stay at Hotel Indigo Singapore. The location, the design, the quiet and comfortable rooms, and how clean and well-kept everything was made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with great value and a really welcoming atmosphere.Special Mention – Joan
Joan truly made our stay special. She looked after our team with so much care, helped us with anything we needed, and even shared great suggestions for things to see and do. Her warm smile and genuine kindness stood out every single day, and we’re really grateful for her support.
- Gisela (10/5): - Sehr schöne an die Peranakankultur angelehnte Ausstattung, gemütlich, schöner Blick, Pool auf der Dachterrasse Nichts
- Frank (9/5): Very nice; if I could have used the pool it would have been perfect - Everything except the pool

2. Pillows comes with firm and soft options
3. Complimentary sweets!! Aircon control don't seem to be consistent across different rooms. A 25 degree Celsius may be colder in one room than the other.
- Patrick (9/5): Great place to stay and explore Singapore. - Lovely room with nice traditional tiles and furniture.
Great breakfast to start the day.
Rooftop infinity pool was memorable.
While a bit away from the city centre, it was close to Marine Parade MRT station so able to get around quite easily.
The area around the hotel was nice with great restaurants.
Nice staff, very obliging. The window in the shower was a bit off - needed to pull the blind down for privacy while showering.
Also the key card reader for the lift was frustrating at times.
- mumoffivekids (10/5): Gorgeous hotel we had a lovely stay - Beautiful hotel situated well in Singapore and over half the price of hotels around marina bay. Easy reach of the underground to travel about.
Staff were all amazing and friendly. We always felt welcome.
The room was gorgeous with amazing views on the 15th floor. I loved the free sweets in the room it was a nice touch.
The bed and pillows were very comfy. Very important for us as my husband has a bad back.
The breakfast was delicious and plenty of selection to choose from. I would definately stay here again.
The rooftop pool and bar were also wonderful. There is a fab gym aswell which we didn’t use

- Kensuke (10/5): This the perfect hotel to enjoy the East Coast. If you decide to be a hamster in a room, this suits that style. If you - I know it’s impossible to rate the highest but I just did because they deserve it.
I’m not sure if it’s just Singaporeans that are just very courteous but this hotel takes it a notch higher - they remember your name. Every question was answered with true honesty together with personal recommendations.
The room, thanks to Rose on the 12th floor, was prepared perfectly. It’s a really nice room and I’ve accumulated 2.5M air miles in my prof career. This visit was just ‘Fun and visiting Friends’ so it was just perfect.
Something funny: I was taking a shower and I thought, Cool, I can see the view during my shower…. When I’m drying, there is this sign that states, ‘enjoy the view but remember it is 2 way so they can see you’. I laughed by _ss off.
Go to the shoreline and rent a bike early in the morning before the sun bakes you. I could barely find anything wrong with the property. No dust. No mold, nothing. It’s very obvious that whoever cleans-up, Rose, loves her job.
BTW, Sh_raton at Newton had mold …
OK, it would be nice to have a long towel holder to dry the large towel?
- jbertani (9/5): Belle hotel a Singapour - Tres bel hotel bien situe et bien entretenu Le personnel est tres sympathique et repond a toutes vos demandes On entend les voisins a travers les murs de la salle de bain
- Isla (10/5): We just loved staying here and cant wait to stay again. It was such a beautiful hotel and we love the area. - We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were all wonderful and our room was spectacular. It was designed in such a cool way and was so fun and unique, had everything we needed and was really comfortable. Our view was incredible and loved the shower! Indigo was also in the best location for Katong area. Nothing truly!
- Kirsten (10/5): -
- Marion (9/5): -
- Ipek (8/5): Great hotel - location just needs a little more something special - Stayed before so knew what to expect
Be good to be treated more special and offered more on arrival The price per night is a little high
- Jeremy (8/5): - Personnel très aimable et souriant. Belle piscine avec une vue magnifique Un peu bruyant, on entend le couloir et les chambres voisines
- Cklaus9801 (10/5): Perfect! - It was my first time in Singapore for a holiday! and i must say this Hotel really impressed me. Not just by the detailed cleanliness of the room, but the service provided was top notch. My compliments to the front desk ladies, Safura and Debbie. They always greeted me, and asked how was my day. It was warm and genuine. I will definitely return and recommend this hotel to my friends!
- fenghuo (8/5): A quaint hotel infused with local charm - Located in Katong/Joo Chiat area, this quaint hotel shares a common spot with another IHG brand, Holiday Inn Express. Like the other Hotel Indigo-branded hotel I've been, the decor is whimsical, with that touch of local flavour in its presentation (read: Peranakan porcelain, complimentary local childhood sweets, sink basin on top of a converted Singer sewing machine, etc). It is fun and adds colour to the chain of hotels, a tad different from other luxury brands. The twin bed room is adequately sized, with a nice bathroom and open concept shower that looks out to a great view of the neighbourhood (beware to draw the blinds during shower time!) and a separate toilet at opposite ends of the room (which I find convenient, such that one can shower while the other uses the WC).
Staff are friendly as worthy of any upscale property, with IHG loyalty benefits being automatically awarded without having to make any deliberate requests.
We managed to get breakfast for the room, and there was a wonderful selection of items to savour to start the day. Even though the restaurant, Baba Chews, is small if you measure against those in other hotels, the helpfulness and friendliness of the serving staff make it a welcome start to the day (you can hear staff greeting frequent guests by their names and offering their fav seats). Having a good spread of made-to-order options on the breakfast menu also well compensated for the smaller size of the restaurant. Food tastes great!
There is a superb view at the rooftop pool, served by a pool bar as well as an adequate fitness centre if you decide to throw in some sun-bathing, a dip in the water or a workout.
This was a short staycation for my partner and me to celebrate Valentine's Day, and the stay ticked all the right boxes, also because there are numerous good food options in the area, and there are malls nearby to do some (window-)shopping.
The hotel is a little off the well beaten track I think for tourists, but it does offer connectivity to Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay Sands area, just a few stops away via the effective Thomson-East Coast Line.
My only slight complain (pls forgive me...) is that I find the sheets a bit too cooling with the air-conditioning, so it did not provide me with best sleep I had otherwise in the IHG chain of hotels. This is just me nitpicking however.
Hotels in Singapore tend to be expensive, so I am unsure whether it gives the best value given the large variety of hotels in the country with perhaps a better location, so you will need to balance your own needs and wants.
- Sophie (7/5): Quirky interior decor in a cool part of Singapore - Joo Chiat is a great and underrated area of Singapore. The hotel is nestled in between some other high rises and is a few hundred yards away from the very cute i12 Katong Mall. Pool nice. Staff friendly and helpful. The interior decoration is extremely odd. I found it a bit of an assault on the senses, although some may find it charming. Rooms felt quite cluttered, and some items in the room were looking a bit worse for wear, i.e. wardrobe hangers.
On some days, breakfast felt very chaotic. On quiet days, it was still far from serene down there, with people zooming around all over the place to grab food from the buffet.
The staff did their best to keep everything running quickly. The breakfast foods were very tasty!

- Zoe (8/5): Lovely characterful and relaxing holiday hotel. - Great location - and decor that reflects and celebrates the location. Room layout was nice, entrance and lobby area are nice. Restaurant is good and breakfast truly excellent and well prepared. Pool and rooftop area lovely.
Staff were so helpful and friendly, our one brief issue with air con in the room was resolved immediately. Room needed more hanging space especially for towels.
- mark (9/5): location was good and quality of the Hotel was Great - everything was great
- Wim (8/5): - Ontbijt was fantastisch Gemis van een hotelbar
- Venture62113100146 (10/5): Wonderful experience at Hotel Indigo - The hotel is perfect for a getaway, nestled in a lovely neighbourhood with lots of food options and cultural experiences. Thank you for the amenities, the cookies were delicious! Great service provided from the team, who were friendly and attention to detail. Will definitely revisit again!
- siewjoonq (10/5): Excellent service - I always enjoy the breakfast at Baba Chew. The staff there are always friendly and helpful.
I am particularly impressed by Merivel who could address me by name and remember my room number as well as what I ordered for coffee on previously days.
This makes me feel warm and home away from home.
Thank you to all the staff, including reception, Baba Chew, and housekeeping for all the smiley faces and excellent services.

- chrizraj (10/5): A seamless wedding weekend made special by an incredible team - We made a group booking at Hotel Indigo for our wedding weekend and had a smooth and pleasant experience with Michelle and Wilson to coordinate complicated requests (bookings on dedicated floors, early check ins etc, which they were able to meet!) during the wedding weekend our guests received top notch service and they all complimented the rooms. We especially appreciated the reception being so warm and helpful with coordinating our left luggage at front desk and ensuring our wedding transport (buses, cars) went smoothly. Thank you!
- changpengy (10/5): Excellent and Unforgettable - The room was cleaned very nice by wen na, thank you very much.
I love the style of this room, very impressed!
- brotbacker (10/5): Top rating to Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong - We.give Hotel Indigo Singapore Katanga 5 stars. It is a beautiful hotel, well located. The staff has been so kind and helpful. We especially appreciate how clean our room and hallways are. The housekeeping staff is outstanding. We highly recommend this hotel
- OnAir07306292383 (10/5): Gem along katong - Rooms were beautiful and property is nearby to lots of food options along katong. What makes this hotel stand out is the service. Thank you Debbie, Safura and CK for the memorable stay. Always willing to go above and beyond, they made our stay go beyond our expectations. We will be back again soon.
- tahourah (10/5): Exceptional Hospitality and Cultural Charm in Katong - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo Katong, perfectly located near Joo Chiat Street, right in the heart of historic Singapore. The location made it easy to explore the neighborhood while soaking in its cultural charm.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and cooperative. From the moment we arrived, the person who greeted us took the time to explain everything clearly—how to get around, what to see nearby, and the hotel’s services—which made us feel very welcome. A special thank you to Daya, who cleaned our room beautifully throughout our stay.
We stayed for a full week, and the room was very well suited for a longer visit. There was an ample number of hangers (a small but very appreciated detail). The room itself was lovely and thoughtfully designed, reflecting Singapore’s culture and history with traditional plates, a pair of charming red wooden shoes, and a beautiful mural depicting local life. These touches gave the room real character and warmth.
One feature we especially loved was the pillow menu, which allowed us to choose the type of pillow that suited us best. (Although we didn’t use it as the original pillows were great. You could control the fan intensity and room temperature, and the fact that the toilet and bathroom were separate was awesome! It was not a noisy room.
When our electricity fuse tripped due to an iron, the issue was resolved immediately, and we were kindly left a complimentary bowl of pears, which was a thoughtful gesture.
The rooftop pool was great. we enjoyed it many times. You can order food and drinks there, and there is also a shaded patio that was breezy and pleasant even under the late morning and afternoon sun. After long days of sightseeing, the foot bath basin with bath salts was incredibly refreshing. The robes were generously sized (which is rare), and the shampoo and conditioner smelled wonderful.
The only thing I would change is having more flat space for luggage. While the cupboard easily fit one large suitcase, with two large suitcases and a carry-on, extra open space would have been helpful.
Overall, Hotel Indigo offers excellent comfort, thoughtful service, and a strong connection to local culture. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return

- sharminn2026 (10/5): unforgettable - I was not staying at the hotel, but I would like to thank Safura for her kindness. I was crying outside the hotel the other night after losing my phone when she approached me to check if I was okay. She offered me water and helped book a taxi to the nearest police station. Thanks to her, I managed to get my phone back. I truly hope the management recognises how caring their staff are.
- Michiko (10/5): Will book again - Very good location and friendly staff as well

- KnittingNicky (8/5): Lovely hotel, fabulous staff - Super hotel, we had a lovely room with quirky decor and a very comfy bed, the pillows were amazing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside and why I’ve knocked off one star was that there was a yappy dog either next door or next but one who started barking at 3am.
The rooftop pool is a good size and temperature, it was always quite breezy when we went up there but it’s a good space. The gym has everything you need.
- Coraline (9/5): Nous recommandons cet établissement - le personnel très serviable, idéalement localisé dans un bon quartier les prises qui ne sont pas de premières génération
- David (10/5): Great location. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable - Everything was above expectations Not a thing
- nzbear (10/5): Nice new hotel. Needs better curtains. - Overall we were very happy with our stay at Indigo. The rooms are decorated in traditional style and the facilities are good. The separation of eh toilet and bathroom is a little odd, but works well enough. The bed was very comfortable. The main criticism is the inadequate curtains which are a light colour and therefore the room becomes light from sunrise onwards. Darker curtains would improve this.
No decent work desk, just a table and sofa.
Staff were all very nice. The swimming pool and gym area were both adequate.
Easy walk through to the MRT station at Marine Parade, and good range of eating places nearby. Fix the curtains, and we'd come back!
