Guest Reviews
- Kathryn (5/5): Convenient location, unfriendly staff, very disappointed. - The location and closeness to downtown was great. Staff wasn’t very friendly or welcoming. Waited at the restaurant area for over 10 minutes so my friends and I could order a drink without any service at all. Staff glanced our way multiple times trying not to make eye contact, greeted people who came after us but never came to greet or take our order. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Disliked how early the bar and the hot tub facilities closed. For the price paid and it being a weekend, hours of operation should be more accommodating to guests. The young man that checked us in looked like he had just rolled out of bed, hair a disaster. Not what i anticipated for a high end hotel. I was also charged three hundred dollars after I had already paid for my stay as a “pre authorization”.
- Elsie (9/5): - Everything.
- Elinor (9/5): -
- Ryan (8/5): For the money a pretty nice hotel. - Great location nice and modern room with modern facilities. Crumbs and dirt in places you couldn't see.
- Anna (10/5): - Beautiful property. Everything was great and we loved the walkability to downtown! We stayed on the third floor and from the hours of 2 AM to 4 AM experienced such loud noise we couldn’t sleep. I don’t know if it’s because we were underneath the rooftop and they were cleaning up, but it was literally so noisy, It was shaking our room.
- Francis (9/5): Good - Close to train station
- Richard (10/5): You won’t be disappointed staying here. The employees are top notch! Everyone treated us like family! Will stay anytime - Beautiful Hotel! One of the nicest Hotels we have ever stayed at!
- CYNTHIA (10/5): -
- Gregg (10/5): Great four day stay to experiance the winter season - Location, amenities Standard shower no hose option
- Dawn (8/5): - the aesthetics and location the TV was near impossible to operate with no instructions provided. The in room snacks/drinks also had no price list, leaving one to wonder if they were complimentary (they were not)
- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Taylor (10/5): You get what you pay for. For anything under 350 a night it’s well worth the stay. - Rooftop hot tub; slightly away from congestion Hard to complain, but breakfast room service would be nice. I also understand the labor problem, so it’s a minute complaint.
- Tina (10/5): -
- Benjamin (8/5): Rooms and Service was Excellent. Motel is very overpriced. - Rooms and Service was Great Over Priced
- Vivian (8/5): Just fine - I loved the location and the bed was comfortable. I loved the massage therapist, she was amazing, I think she is also the spa manager. In order to turn on the bathroom lights I had to first turn on the extremely bright room lights and then go in and turn on bathroom lights, if I didn't do that the bathroom lights did not work, really a stupid set up. There was also a draft coming through the window. Food choices in the restaurant were minimal, I only ate there because I didn't want to go out.
- Brenda (10/5): - Location Finding previous guests underwear under the curtains upon opening them. Nasty, obviously housekeeping could do better.
- Robert (9/5): -
- Carla (9/5): definitely will be back - beds are so comfy front desk upon check-in
- Heather (10/5): Would stay again! - Location and staff! Bed was so comfy Shower leaked pretty bad- and they ran out of a lot of breakfast things that day
- Sotiris (10/5): -
- Dan (8/5): -
- Jerry (10/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Sara (9/5): Great location - The hotel was in a great location; very walkable to all the shops and restaurants in downtown Whitefish. Also it had a modern yet very classic Montana feel. We loved the rooftop hot tub.
- Andrew (7/5): -
- Hogan (8/5): - Didn’t have breakfast but appreciated the free coffee and late checkout so I could finish calls Gym was basic but clean..
- Kate (7/5): -

- Duncan (10/5): - Nice property
- Susan (10/5): - Did not use spa
- Maria (10/5): - This hotel was located in such a great area in downtown Whitefish .. it was walkable to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and had a very comfortable lobby. We enjoyed the hot tub on the roof and the fire pits overlooking the city.
- Niki (10/5): -
- Susan (8/5): -
- Dorothy (10/5): -
- Rachel (2/5): Cost too high for value we received - Close to town Expensive, loud music near room, & broken window, as well as broken bed frame.
- Mark (10/5): - Great location and friendly staff! A bit overpriced. Same or more as big city downtown prices.
- Manfred (8/5): -
- Brian (8/5): - Great location in the heart of Whitefish!
- stephen (8/5): Great location, but so expensive! - Great location in the centre of Whitefish. Dark and noisy room.
- Brent (10/5): - Q
- Alexandra (10/5): - Pleasant staff
- Maria (8/5): - I was provided a not so great room on the fullest floor right next to the door that opens to the hall for room entry. Very loud for hours as guests came in / out the door. The TV did not work and there was a left over half jug of water that was not cleaned.
The positives are the location, the walkability, easy and convenient parking and staff. Shannon at the Front Desk was amazingly helpful by switching time to another room away from an entry door, with working TV and cleaner. Bathrooms are also spacious and comfortable- however the lightning in them is not great.
Based on location and very helpful staff, I recommend.
- Lesly (10/5): - Love the property and the rooms. Bathroom is amazing. Staff is amazing. Loved sitting down. The roof tip watching the sunset. ❤️
- Cheyenne (10/5): - Overall a great experience here! Every staff member interaction was top notch, room was great too.
- MARGARET (10/5): - Beautiful hotel located in walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
- Constantine (10/5): -
- Linda (10/5): - Really pretty hotel inside the reception area and very cozy area with fireplace in bar area. The gentleman at the reception was extremely kind and very accommodating.the room was nice with modern features with a very comfortable bed, the only complaint was the view was out the corner back parking lot against another wall
- Constantine (10/5): -
- Donna (6/5): - We paid a lot of money for a room for three nights. We had to be moved because the first room smelled like trash. Front desk was very indifferent to their guest. Never acknowledged us either coming or going. Bartender was completely weird with customers, like they were bothering her. Upside was location of hotel, but we paid for that for sure with price to stay there. Wouldn't recommend it.
- Mark (10/5): - Good clean rooms, a bit loud with road noise but otherwise comfortable. Bedding was excellent and the shower/bathroom was roomy. Overall very much enjoyed the location and amenities.
- Mary (8/5): - Great location, new and welcoming! There are no EV chargers here, though. It is their sister hotels that have Tesla destination chargers. Nice that we could walk a block to downtown and enjoy whitefish!
- Kellie (8/5): - Very clean and with a restaurant does room service!
Very close to downtown lots of shops
- Lisa (10/5): - Very comfortable beds!
- Debbie (10/5): - Great hotel friendly staff
- joan (10/5): - Clean room
- Coleen (8/5): -
- Caleb (3/5): -
- Daniel (8/5): -
- Dan (6/5): Fairly mediocre hotel in whitefish - Great location and nice rooftop but the rooms are fairly dated and not that comfortable. I’ve stayed at nicer holiday inn express, etc
- DIANE (10/5): - We did not hane a car, but parking is easy.
- Susan (10/5): - Loved the location of the hotel, so central to the downtown Whitefish area. Always so inviting, loved the live music on certain evenings.
- Julie (4/5): Avoid the first floor. Particularly, room 101 if you want privacy or sleep! - Great location Very disappointing room. Right next to the parking lot as well as the restaurant. Loud noises from the bartill late at night. Unable to open windows due to privacy issues. Location of my room allowed me to hear every person open and close the door to the restaurant all night long as well as check in to their room. Also our window crank was broken.
- Susan (10/5): - Great location, comfortable room.
- Chelcie (8/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): - Very easy parking. Pleasant check in staff. Very clean modern rooms. Very close to shops and restaurants. Great town
- darla (10/5): - Nice hotel! Great spa service, great restaurant, great staff, great location in town, 5 min to lake whitefish, 15 min to whitefish mtn ski area, 45 min to glacier ntl park
- HillaryS (8/5): Great location and staff, but a bit pricey for what you get - Very warm and friendly front desk staff and bar staff. The room was comfortable and clean. It’s a great location to walk downtown. The happy hour at the bar was really nice. The price is too high for just a basic stay. The light switches are confusing at the room entrance. The hot tub was nice, but small and crowded at the time we went in the evening.
- James (9/5): - Able to walk to dinner/restaurants
- Kiran (7/5): Nice hotel with comfortable beds - Nice hotel just 1 block off the main street of Whitefish We went here to treat ourselves after 3 days of hiking in Glacier. I was disappointed that the jets in the hot tub were not working and that they charged us for 2 bottles of water for an expensive stay.
- Ashley (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, clean and great food!
- Karee (10/5): - Clean and easy stay! Breakfast was amazing! Only wish the bar was open all day
- Laura (10/5): Perfect - Great place and lovely staff Location to town and great shuttle
- Nancy (6/5): - We were on the main floor beside the door that guests use to go from the lobby/bar/restaurant. We heard the door all night.
- Mark (8/5): - Good location. Restaurant and Bar were good.
- Caroline (8/5): Very good - Location is great near centre of town and rail station..
Comfortable bed clean and tidy room.
Friendly helpful waiter at dinner. One receptionist was very offhand almost to the point of being rude.
eating breakfast at a high stool is not particularly conducive to a relaxing start to the day..
There did not appear to be anywhere to sit and relax except a small area.
No towel rail to hang wet towels in bathroom. Grips in bathroom could have been better placed for safety.
- Amit (7/5): Good place and amazing location - Location is phenomenal, rooms are well appointed I have to be critical of the initial arrival to the hotel- the person at the desk did not introduce themselves, explain much about the property. Gave us a keycard to a room someone was already occupying, was not even remotely apologetic about it. Did not make the minimum for a check in. Unimpressed.
Staff otherwise was excellent during stay
- Sarah (1/5): No peace of mind booking here, don’t do it - Well nothing as they cancelled not one but TWO of my bookings (once a week out, the second time less than 24hrs out). Small towns like Whitefish book out quickly. Firebrand stuffed me around cancelling both bookings with minimal notice. After spending time in the area locals stated it’s fairly common. Do yourself a favour and book with Grouse Mountain Lodge instead. Great service
- Lauren (10/5): - Excellent location. Great customer service.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (7/5): Could of been better - Cleanliness and style Price, and the facilities and restaurant close to early at 10pm
- Katie (9/5): Superb -
- Sean (8/5): Just what we needed. - Convenient to downtown. Great design. Lovely bathroom and shower. Bed was soft for our liking.
- Marcelo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annette (10/5): Great stay in Whitefish - It was my first time in Montana. Whitefish was a lovely town, and the Firebrand is a perfect location: lovely room, great service and an awesome rooftop patio!
- Richard (2/5): An unfortunated stay… never been in a place with dirty sheets, very disgusting. Not recommended - Excellent Location and good service at the restaurant. The bed sheets were dirty with clear “dry human fluids”…
The first night my wife and I slept on the blanckets so didn’t realize but, the second night my wife opened the bed and saw that the sheets were clearly dirty and disgusting… went to front desk and they changed the sheets when we were at the restaurant but, the whole situation wes very unpleasent and not expexted for a hotel of this supposed category.
Very unfortunate, it ruined our stay in this hotel.
- nick (10/5): - Great location, very nice rooms, convenient to downtown Whitefish
- Kelley (10/5): - Clean easy walking distance to town. Sweet staff and cute snacks!
- Marjorie (6/5): Don’t go there - This is not a five star hotel in anyway. I think four would be overly generous. At nearly $400/night in northwest Montana, it is certainly not a deal.
And when you go to order breakfast but can’t because they closed early, three stars begins to look generous. Don’t go there!
- Esther (10/5): - PERFECT place to land after a day at Glacier. Very comfortable beds, beautiful rooftop hot tub/fire pits. The staff were very accommodating and nice, too! I would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
- Ryan (10/5): Really enjoyed the hot tub, rooftop lounge, and the beds were amazing. Overall it was a great stay aside from the staff - Location and accommodations The staff wasn’t the most welcoming but other than that it was good
- David (10/5): - Just great
- Kevin (10/5): - Everything was great!
- Malou (4/5): Will not return - Bad room 102. Next to bar. Noisy. Then breakfast was not open at 7 after waking us up at 5:30
- Marci (8/5): - Great hotel in a great location. Room was beautiful. The only odd thing was that we got a call to the room at 10:30am telling us that checkout time was 11.
We knew what time the checkout was - and we were getting ready to go - but we just thought it was very odd they called us to let us know that checkout was in 30 minutes.
We’ve stayed in a LOT of hotel rooms all around the world and have never had this happen!
- Tanya (10/5): - Great location -- we're taking the train and it's a block from the train depot. It's also a great location for walking around Whitefish; the staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooftop hot tub is a great feature.
- Owen (8/5): - Good atmosphere speakers on roof were not working with persistent
- Sharon (6/5): I thought my stay would be in the “special “ category, it was just a “nice stay” category. - Great location Pool closed too early and opened too late. Furniture is getting worn down, expected for the price of the room for there to have been better care of the furniture.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
