Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Valerie (9/5): Lovely one night stay, however the cost to eat there is very high, and there is no where else to eat, so you are committ - Location, lodge Price was quite high.
- William (10/5): - Love the cabins. Always clean. A little pricey. But you get a 10 star hotel.
- YVONNE (9/5): -
- Louise (10/5): The best accommodation between Whitehorse and Fort Nelson. - The scenery is amazing. Very happy to find such good accommodation on a very long highway. Can’t think of anything.
- Christopher (8/5): -
- John (7/5): Nice stay, but not for a quick overnight stay - Nice lodge. Room was nice Expensive food on site. Front desk hours were limited. No coffee in the room.
- Dawn (10/5): A must stay! - We always love to stay here when we are traveling through Canada. The food excellent. It is a refreshing stop after driving many miles.
- Maryam (7/5): We enjoyed our staying! - Staff were so nice and helpful, location is great Needs some more facilities like fridge, kettle and little bit pricey!
- Annalee (10/5): The stay was magical! - Remote, no cell service except in the lodge, stunning view and access to Muncho Lake, hiking trails and hot springs nearby.
- Alisha (8/5): Nice, rustic, hotel in a scenic location. Hot and loud for us. - Beautiful location. Convenient right off the freeway. Room was clean. Loved the rustic vibe. Nice scenery but you can’t see it from the hotel because of the trees. Cabins were close to the lake with views. We were just traveling through, so it was a good place for that. No coffee in room. Had to go down to the lobby after 7a to get coffee. No AC. Room was very hot. They did give us a fan which helped a little. We had a room that looked out over the restaurant so it wasn’t very private and it was loud. Restaurant was overpriced with only a few options.
- David (10/5): Very nice highly recommend it - Great Too warm in room
- Ashley (10/5): Great stay - We loved our stay in the cabin. Comfy beds with incredible views. The playground was just across from us which was perfect for the kids Wish there was a microwave and/or coffee machine in the rooms. But a quick walk to the lobby and you can use theirs. We’ll be back

- Tyler (10/5): Cute and Cozy on the Alcan - I love the Northern Rockies Lodge! I’ve stayed there a couple of times. The food is good and the staff are so nice! Can’t wait to stay there again. It’s an older building but I think it’s the nicest place to stay on the Alcan Highway by far.
- Eyester (7/5): -
- Tracy Lynn Coe (9/5): Beautiful location on the Alkan highway. - Location totally as expected; remote but right on the highway.
breakfast was perfectly adequate
Alex brought me a glass of wine to the room; Sarah was a peach. Above-board staff! Sheets on the bed weren't fitted so I had pulled them off the mattress in my sleep.
Vent in the bathroom had weeks/months of dust fuzz.
- Benita (8/5): -
- Jessica (6/5): Lovely scenery, but overpriced for a short overnighter - The lake was lovely and the scenery was unmatched. It was however a in between stay for us. Which in our opinion was reflected in the price in the foreseen but unfortunate case that it was overpriced.
- James (10/5): Passed through on the way up to Alaska and had to stay on the way back down, it was very comfortable, the food was prett - Beautiful location N/A lived up to the expectation
- Godwin (7/5): -
- Steven (9/5): -
- Amy (9/5): -
- Wayne (10/5): - The location in the Canadian Rockies was spectacular. The staff was welcoming from the moment I walked through the door to confirm my reservations. The room was well prepare for me, neat and clean. Later, I enjoyed a delicious meal from the kitchen.
- Mark (8/5): - Absolutely beautiful setting. Amazing log structure.
- Bernhard (8/5): - Except one restaurant that requies reservation, the was no place to eat. No breakfast.
- resit (6/5): Save your $ and keep driving - Save your $ and stay elsewhere. Too pricey. There was repairs going on outside our room, which consisted of hammering until 9:00 pm. Then at 3:00 am, a group of young adults pulled their vehicle under our balcony to get either fuel or propane. They were loud, slamming doors, laughing, cussing, etc. after they left another guy showed up at. 5:00 am, same thing getting fuel/propane. There is no ac so we had to sleep with window open and could not avoid the noise. Ate takeout from the restaurant and was not good, only slightly below average.
- Danushka (10/5): I loved the stay and can’t wait to go back. This was our second time. - The property is located on Muncho Lake and it is stunning. It’s cozy and elegant. Food and staff were excellent!
- Shane (2/5): - For $316 our room had no air conditioning, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker and the room was hot, requiring us to open the sliding door for air, which then brought in the noise from the restaurant patio directly below our room. The staff were as helpful as they could be and provided us with a fan. This room was not worth what we paid!
- Henry (6/5): Lack of basics - It’s the only accommodation that has no fridge and microwave I have ever been. I mean, I’ve stayed a lot of hotels and this is the only one that doesn’t have those.
It should be a basic and standard.
I was so disappointed. I have a child with special needs and we brought his particular foods and some of his other needs. It all went to waste and we have to travel to Watson Lake just to buy some fresh for my child.
It’s really a good thing that I only booked two nights.
This accommodation is not for all. Be warned.
- Daniel (10/5): - Beautiful lodge!
- Madeline (10/5): - Charming little place
- Linda (10/5): - This is a stunningly beautiful location, with great accommodations. There could be some thought on things like not parking a piece of heavy work equipment right next to the beautiful dining room. Also the food was fine but expensive and given the location fish would have been nice as a menu choice.
- Brown (3/5): Disappointing experience - Nice location next to beautiful Muncho Lake. Breakfast buffet with was barely warm and expensive.
Dinner was fair but outrageously priced.
Room was tiny, hot, lacked air conditioning, bed was uncomfortable. Not worth the high price.
- Richard (8/5): - Excellent and beautiful location. Value and cost is worth it based on location and what you get.
Units are very unique and comfortable
Lake and property are beautiful, overall and lots to do on property.
Cost to eat on location are pricey but understandable due to location and where you are,
Take out food was very good
No cell service is an inconvenience but ok to get away from things.
- CHAD (8/5): - Always a great place to stay with excellent service.
- Moneeba (8/5): - Its a beautiful area, the hotel is convenient (resturant, gas, wifi). We stayed 2 nights in total on the way to Yukon and back 😊
- edwin (8/5): - The drive/scenery through this part of the Alaska Highway was the highlight of our trip so far for scenery and wildlife viewing. Lodge has a nice rustic look.
- Gord (8/5): - Zz
- Yvonne (10/5): -
- Nelson (10/5): -
- Sera (10/5): - Lodge has it's own restaurant and takeout menu. Has gas and laundry facilities. Internet was excellent, but no cell service.Rooms were very clean, very cozy. Staff was very helpful with anything we needed. Bed was very comfortable, shower has very good. Awesome place to stay!
- Michael (9/5): -
- Marisa (8/5): - Customer service was really good. And the rooms were quaint.
- Dave (8/5): -
- Desiree (10/5): - Great place
- James C (10/5): - Great place to stay beautiful lodge . Clean and inviting
- Kristina (10/5): - Beautiful
- regena (8/5): - This hotel is minimalist but clean and safe. Restaurant was good. Located in the beautiful Montal Lake area. Staff was super nice.
- Alice (8/5): - Great location right along the Alaska highway, perfect spot to take a break if you're travelling
I would stay there again just for the location.
- Lana (10/5): - Great place
- Alissa (10/5): - We had to check in late due to a travel delay, and Alex stayed longer to let us in. Alex was amazing. We felt so grateful and welcomed
- Robert (6/5): - Property was very nice but food choices not great very expensive if you wand to eat in dining room you must purchase a three course dinner for $75 other than that you can order take out and eat in your room basic burgers the snitzel was dry and no taste other than old grease. Would not stay again.
- karen (10/5): - Lovely new hotel!
- Richard (8/5): - The only down side is the cost of the restaurant, great food but bring $$$
- Linda (8/5): - We were disappointed with our stay at Northern Lodge. For the premium price we paid, we expected basic amenities like a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room — none were provided. To make things worse, the only microwave, freezer and coffee maker available for guests are locked away from 10pm to 8am. Also there’s nowhere to eat take-out food they sell vs their $80 three course dinner (having a large dining room and outside balcony), and our room 203 doesn’t even have a table. For a place charging top dollar in such a remote area, guests deserve better comfort and flexibility. Sights are awesome. Staff is nice.
- Al (10/5): Great vacation -
- Nabeel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shan Chih (10/5): - Awesome
- Darcy (10/5): - Beautiful lodge right on Muncho Lake at the base of the mountains
- Adam (7/5): expensive but in general a good stop for your trip to the north - it is right next to Muncho Lake, the most beautiful lake in northern BC. the room is clean, and staffs are friendly. it is pricey...
- Patricia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rodney (10/5): - Pristine lake, majestic mountains, peaceful, simply perfect mountain retreat.
- Jobeth (8/5): Very good - Didn’t stay for breakfast and thought room service cost for two hamburgers and two sodas were ridiculously priced.
- Blaine (8/5): Quick stop on our way to Anchorage Alaska and this place served the purpose well. - Property was well maintained and looked very nice. Liked the walkable RV lot down to the lake and dock. Restaurant available if required. Could hear any noises from adjoining rooms.
- George (8/5): - Nice place but very expensive.
- Travis (10/5): Great reason to stop - Headed to AK to see my daughter. Every time I think I could stay here for another week.
- Howard (10/5): - Beautiful area
- Elaine (10/5): - Beautiful setting. Everything very clean and everyone very helpful.
- Tim (8/5): - This property is located on a lake. We stayed in the lodge, which was very beautiful.
- Annette (10/5): Excellent - Absolutely wonderful stay in picturesque location. Restaurant is pricey for dinner but the half board option is quite reasonable. There is gas here (including premium). Staff were all wonderful.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): Stunning Area - This area is very beautiful! The cabins are perfect but the lodge is nice too! The staff are friendly and go above and beyond!
- William (10/5): - Friendly staff, great food, comfortable room. Great views!
- Kimberly (10/5): - What a beautiful property it is! The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful! The room was comfortable and bed was perfect. It’s extremely remote but I’d love to go back sometime.
- Graham (10/5): - The best lodge that the Rockies can offer great rooms great food great scenery
- James (8/5): - I thought you should be able to eat in the dining room without having to buy 3 course meal,ie get a salad or hamburger and not need to get it to go
- Willie (8/5): Good enough for quick overnite stop - Ok for location but small and overpriced. Price for room and food.
- Jack (6/5): - The setting was great but it is priced too high. Not even a breakfast included unless you pay another $26 per person! Will not stay here again.
- Rose (6/5): The stay was quiet, views excellent, but it was a high $ stay for - Location is in the northern BC area and scenery is unmatched. Front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The property is very pretty. It is located very close to the Liard Hot Springs which makes it nice to take a dip. Room is extremely small, only one nightstand for a king room. No place to hang bags and little room for luggage. There was no top sheet on the bed, eww. There were two options for dining- $75 three course meal which we weren’t all that hungry so opted for a lighter room service option. I got a salad and sandwich, my husband got sandwich and fries. I understand being environmentally conscious, but my salad was served with a balsa wood fork which is impossible to eat salad with. I do believe that washing a stainless fork would also be a sound choice.
- Linda (6/5): - The property was nice. The view was exceptional when you walked to it. From the lodge you couldn’t see much. The staff was friendly. The food and drink were expensive. We were just there for an overnight
- Juan (4/5): A bad experience - the breakfast was good They give you only 2 options for dinner, you pay $75 Canadian dollars, and you can seat at the dinning room or order fast food to go!
The seats in the room where in very bad shape, The curtains, did not cover the light well, the light goes into the room from 3:30 AM.
The Owner of the hotel and also pilot of the airplane, was very rude with one member of my group, he push him on the parking lot, because he was going to fly a dron, there was no sign of any prohibition, I asked him for more respect and I responde me also in a very rude matter, I asked him for his name, but he refused to give it to me, I told him I will white this situation to Booking, and his answer was: I don't care I don't need a good review. I definitely do not recommend this place at all!
- Regina (9/5): Superb -
- Jo-ann (10/5): Beautiful place on Muncho Lake. - The beds were amazing. The location on the lake was beautiful. The staff friendly and helpful. It was a bit pricy and the take out food was greasy. In the lodge there was no other food option that night until nearly 8 pm.
- Leah (7/5): Beautiful spot but I wish I saved my money and just camped. - Beautiful spot. Overpriced. We decided to dine in, and the only option is the 3 course meal, which was good but way overpriced for what you got. I realize it out of the way but it’s not that out of the way. The lodge was kept to warm also.
- Deborah (10/5): - The lodge sits on the shore of a very nice natural lake. Everything about it is charming and first class without being stuffy or off-putting. Very European in atmosphere as the owners are Swiss.
- Susan (10/5): - Very nice and homey. The takeout dinner option was very nice for us.
- Shawn (10/5): - We stop here each drive through. We like the takeout but not the sitdown meal. Charlie checked us in and was absolutely amazing.
- Dave (8/5): Great staff...middle of nowhere, but beautiful. - Off Season stay on the way to move my son to Alaska. The room was too hot...had to turn the steam heat off completely. Still could not get it right temp. It the middle of nowhere…so I get it…price was high, food at the lodge was overpriced. I get it…where else would we go. If I didn’t again I would plan to bypass it.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (8/5): - Dining there is something to be desired. Was asked to make a reservation did so but it didn’t seem to help much dinner was an hour and 45 minutes from start to finish. Took 30 minutes to get the salad another 30 minutes to get the main course and another 30 minutes to get the dessert. Food was all right, but don’t go there if you’re in a hurry to get in and out. Everything else seems to be very clean and tidy.
- Barb (10/5): - It was an enjoyable stay
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - This lodge is the perfect stay when traveling through. It’s right off the highway and the staff was beyond helpful. Dinner was a 10/10. We would recommend anyone stay there if they have the chance.
- Shasau (9/5): Superb -
- Frank (10/5): - Been nice if the coffee was available 24 hrs or some kind of in room capability
- Cole (6/5): - Limited dining, Area around property was beautiful however nothing else but the property was there.
Quiet and decently clean place. Carpet wasnt very clean but staff was nice
- Raeline (10/5): Was a great stay - The property was great. I’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s always super nice. Lots of hot water for showers and good wifi connection in the lodge. They put my group in the same section of the hotel which was nice to stay close. Nothing the property did but we were wanting to stay in the cabins but they were 2 night minimums. But after speaking to the front desk, the area leading to the cabins wasn’t in great conditions from the ice and snow. The inside of the lodge was good to stay
- Thomas (10/5): Sarah was great. My first Pork Schnitzel 😋 -
