Contesto purtroppo eccessivamente condizionato dalla zona urbana in declino. In stanza diversi difetti/problemi che incidono purtroppo sul confort generale: tavoloccia wc rotta, telefono per comunicazione con reception non funzionante, alcune pecche sulla manutenzione dei muri. Spa con illuminazione insufficiente, candele spente, acqua mancante.

Robert (8/5): - The location is very central, but maybe to central. We arrived after dark. The taxi dropped us off several blocks away because the hotel was in a pedestian zone. We tried to find with Google maps and asked several people in the area where it was. Even standing directly in front of the hotel we did not notice the sign and there was not an obvious door. Get very specific instructions before you go. The breakfast was very ample. Staff was very helpful. Bathroom was typical Italy, hard to keep water off the floor.

Alex (4/5): Great location and lovely staff. But much too expensive given the extensive disrepair of the room - Central location is hard to beat. And the staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good. Whoever owns this hotel seems not to care about the disrepair. Stained chairs, mold on the ceiling, dirty curtains, broken floors, unstable and rusty bathroom appliances, scuffed walls … everywhere you look, you will notice a problem. And while we were there, the rooftop was closed, so no outdoor breakfast. We were told it was because of rain damage, but this just suggests not enough attention was given to protection (it’s a roof terrace … it’s going to get rained on and will need protection). The USB ports next the bed did not work either. You expect somewhat lower quality in Sicily, but this was excessive and made the price paid seem excessive. Recommend you look elsewhere until you read that the rooftop is open and the rooms have been repaired and refurbished.

Personnel sympathique Le roof top n'était pas accessible pour travaux et nous n'avions pas été prévenus ; Les petits déjeuners étaient donc servis dans une pièce exigüe . De plus nous n'avons pu avoir les petits déjeuners le jour de notre départ car l'horaire de service était 7h30 et devions partir à 7h15 ,donc payés mais pas consommés . Egalement à déplorer le hall d'accueil minuscule et aucune pièce pour se réunir , comme un lounge ou un bar .

SM (5/5): This is not a luxury hotel, do not stay here. - The staff here are really friendly and the room and bathroom is extremely spacious. It is very near the Duomo but there are other much nicer places to stay at for the price. This is definitely not a luxury hotel. It is very overpriced and I still feel robbed. It is extremely outdated and needs refurbishment. Even just a coat of paint will somewhat help to renew the space. The beds and pillows are awful. The windows are not soundproof and you are kept up all night from the parties happening in the restaurants opposite.

serge (6/5): Déception par rapport au texte annoncé - L'hôtel a un emplacement de premier ordre et le personnel est charmant Le hall d'accueil est ridiculement petit et il n'y a aucun espace pour se réunir ( bar ou salon) , donc peu convivial .De plus la description sur booking comportait un roof top mais qui était en réfection donc inutilisable pour les petits déjeuners et nous étions réduits à prendre les petits déjeuner dans un espace extrêmement restreint .De cela nous n'avions pas été prévenus et c'était une mauvaise surprise . De plus nous avons payé les petits déjeuners que nous n'avons pu prendre car l'ouverture n'est qu'à 7h30. et nous devions quitter l'hôtel à 7h15 pour notre vol retour. Je suis très bon client chez Booking .com ( environ 22000€ de prestations en 2 ans) et je me charge d'organiser nos vacances pour un groupe d'amis . J'étais très mal à l'aise vis à vis de ces derniers et je suis très déçu.

It was absolutely wonderful. I was even able to chose a menu and the time. Oh and breakfast was lovely, too.

The location was very convenient, and as a solo traveler I felt safe. Thank you for the beautiful Il Gattopardo room! The interior was very modern and clean with elevator and stairs. The staff was very accommodating and helpful to call me a taxi for my departure.

Rosie (7/5): Pleasant for one nights stay - Our rooms were comfortable and were refurbished. One queen bed was divided into two singles, one of these beds was sliding from left to right when lay on (unless there was a brake system we were not aware of). The outdoor terrace was sad looking and needs some attention. Breakfast choice was limited.
SiaK (9/5): - The hotel is in the best location within walking distance to all the attractions and to the main square. The staff were fabulous. Always helpful, especially the ladies on reception and also the girls who looked after us at breakfast. It's also got a lot of wonderful trattorias to choose from in the area for food and of course great gelato shops and canoli shops. Thank you to the staff for looking after us. We had a wonderful stay in Catania! This is not a criticism. As the hotel is situated in a pedestrian area the place goes off at night and there is lots of noise. This did not bother us whatsoever!

Travellerin (7/5): Travelintime - The Hotel is close to the airport so very convenient for an overnight stay before or after a flight. Rooms are comfortable Unfortunately, it's not the hotel's fault but the location doesn't feel very safe as it has a lot of mixed migration and doesn't feel like Italy. Also, I booked a spa suite and the spa was under maintenance this was disappointing.

The hotel needs a refurb throughout.The roof terrace has a great view of the Duomo but it’s a neglected space which could be turned into something lovely for guests to enjoy. The biggest issue for all of our group was the noise from the surrounding bars late at night and into the early hours.

We had a free bottle of wine that was promptly delivered after chatting with an Expedia representative. The hotel did not have our VIP status at the beginning, but the issue got easily solved. They have parking available at a nearby location - about 8 minute walk - for an extra 15€.
LarryDazzo (2/5): Too noisy and not worth a stay - The was very nice and helpful. The rooms are on a fairly busy street with restaurants and stores. There is a produce market on the mezzanine level that begins set up at 3:30 am. They make a lot of noise and are constantly talking/arguing. Don’t expect to get any sleep. The windows in the room do not seal tightly in the frame when closed so the noise comes right through. The rooms need minor repairs and a thorough cleaning. Find another place to stay.
hopebuha17 (8/5): Great location. - Well situated hotel. Friendly helpful staff. We requested a twin bed and were moved after the first to a twin bed. Wish we hadn’t! Twin beds very small and squeaky. Room layout not as good as the first room. Breakfasts not that good. Muesli very sweet, no full fat yoghurts, just fat free ( hence more sugar). Not very nice bread. Plenty of cakes though if that’s what you fancy.

hollowayh215 (2/5): No clue how anyone is above 2 stars on their reviews! - I neverrr write bad reviews because I can usually find enough nice things to offset and undesirable things. That’s not the case here. I can say the housekeeping and breakfast folks were super sweet. And the pillow was decent. I wish that made up for them putting us in a room/room class that we didn’t book and for the mold and peeling paint in shower. Yes- they paint the shower enclosures and it doesn’t hold up. They advertise soundproof rooms and they are nowhere near soundproof- you can hear a lot of loud noise (music) for hours through the night. We booked and of the 2 ‘luxury suites’ (in order to have 2 bedrooms) and were put into a room with one bedroom and a living room so my aunt wound up sleeping on a futon (not a nice one). They need to look up the word luxury — there was absolutely nothing luxurious about any part of the hotel or experience. This place is in bad shape- smelled like a sewer, mold, leaking showers, doors that won’t shut, generally dirty, shower faucets loose from the wall in multiple bathrooms, and so on. We paid $605 dollars a night for this. Really hard to swallow. I feel like I got completely swindled.
411cristinp (4/5): How can this place have such high reviews?! - Rooms - We were traveling in a group of 10. In the group of rooms we reserved, there were 2 luxury suites which consisted of 2 rooms/beds and 2 bathrooms for 3 adults in each suite. We ended up getting 1 luxury suite and 1 “upgrade” to an apartment type room (advertises as a 2 person max room) that had 1 bedroom, a living room with 2 couches and 2 bathrooms. After we checked in we talked to the front desk staff and we were told this was an upgrade because it costs more (the logic here is kind hard to follow…). AND, at the time we were “upgraded,” it was not disclosed to us that there would be a 30% price increase per night for the 3rd person (who slept on a couch). We had multiple conversations with the front desk staff about our unhappiness with the room and were never offered a discount OR offered the room we reserved. Building/Location - It’s a great location IF you plan to stay up late. The rooms are advertised as soundproof but you can hear (very clearly) everything going on out on the street. The building and rooms are also in need of repairs…most of our bathrooms had peeling paint and mold in the showers. When we mentioned this to the front desk staff we were told, “no they don’t” even when presented with pictures. In addition to the mold there was a list of other things that needed attention in the rooms and building…too many things to list! Staff/Services - The front desk staff weren’t really focused on our experience (good or bad) and it felt as thought they just hoped we’d go away. They often argued our feedback and leaned heavily on their perspective being right and ours being wrong. We used the laundry service while there and were reassured 2 times that if we got it in by a certain time we would have it back same day. Laundry didn’t get returned until the following day. The breakfast staff and the cleaning staff were amazing! Price/Overall - I would put this hotel in the category of a glorified hostel at luxury prices. We travel a lot and don’t need perfect…if some of the issues we encountered were one-offs, it wouldn’t feel like such a terrible experience. There are other options close by that are still centrally located but away from the market (smell), late night crowds (loud) and potentially run by staff who are focused on working on solutions with their customers instead of gaslighting their customers.

frankie (4/5): - The hotel is in a good location, close to all major sights, with local shopping and restaurants just outside. We reserved a suite, which is spacious. However, there is a sewage smell that seems to be masked by strong perfumes. The faucet in the sink won’t close properly unless you hit it quite hard. The large round bed takes up most of the walking space in the bedroom, and I have some concerns about the clearance of the big red comforter. The bathroom is very small and quite old. The trim in the shower stall was disgustingly moldy. Additionally, the door doesn’t lock unless you pull it hard. Overall, this will not be a hotel I will return.
Kathie (10/5): Perfect first-day introduction to Sicily! - Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was splendid. The food selection was wonderful, including both savory as well as sweet treats. View was inspiring for my very first day in Italy! I also loved the cinematic theme in the rooms. My room had some quotes stenciled on the walls from a film I had never heard of. I looked them up and discovered "The Day of the Owl", which I watched as soon as I got home, and loved. Everything was great.

Catherine (9/5): Has to be one of the best places to stay in Catania - location, staff, rooftop & view of Etna! - The absolute best location in Catania just steps from the Cathedral and main square and better still, the working fish market! We could walk everywhere. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We used the private sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and loved it! We were also blown away not only by the incredible rooftop sitting area with a view of Mount Etna and the city but the balcony for breakfast in the morning. Our room was a bit small but we were not there too much and we were impressed that despite being near the big street market and restaurant area, it was very quiet! The staff helped us navigate not only driving RIGHT to it in the centre but dropping off our car at a locked lot nearby. Top marks! Room was a bit small and it could maybe use with a bit of room refresh but honestly we loved it! The perfect location to explore Catania.

Despite this it is clean and the room we had was a good size with a micro, small fridge and sink. The room was also quiet despite the busy street and mattress was comfortable.
