Jeri (10/5): A Hidden Gem - I loved this place. It's a surprising oasis right on Old Hwy 99, surrounded by trees with a great vintage feel, beautifully landscaped and lush, with all kinds of birds singing and gorgeous flowers and plants everywhere, and a rooster crowing in the morning. If you're attached to chain hotels like Hilton, however, you probably won't care for it. This place is for people who prefer character, natural beauty and history over new, sterilized, and shiny. The room was adequately clean, certainly somewhat dated, but it was fine. I was sorry the pool wasn't in order, but maybe next year. Meanwhile, it's a great, inexpensive place to stay if you're traveling up or down the 5. Eduardo, the manager, was wonderful. He does all the landscaping and is passionately attached to his plants.

Jon (6/5): - Look, I personally love this type of motel, but its not for everyone (most people?). As a race track regular for the last two decades, I have stayed here numerous times. This is a well past its prime motor court from back in the heyday of when driving was part of the adventure rather than something that is tolerated for the least time possible. For me, the best attribute is the peaceful and quiet location. It's a 5 minute drive to Willows, but none of the unfamiliar manic energy of 24-hour commerce, bright gas stations, and random shenanigans common with most other interstate accommodations. There are plenty of reviews detailing the deferred maintenance and evidence of the financial realities of trying to keep an outlying property that is all but invisible to most travelers going, so I won't pile on. I guess I would summarize the Blue Gum Motel like this; if you're wound up tight and are prone to leaving negative reviews because of cracked tiles and spotty internet, then don't even bother. If you appreciate a place with some "character", have a good sense of perspective on what it is and why its like this, and are up to date on all your shots (I'm kidding) then you might give this place a try.
Bruce (4/5): I need a shower... - During my 2 night stay, the motel did not refresh linens, clean room, or provide pillow cases.
ANDREW (4/5): - They were not aware of my reservation when I showed up. I heard the same thing from other people staying there that had booked through Expedia. They had to scramble to find rooms for people because they weren't paying attention to what bookings they had. The property looks alright in pictures, but not so much in person. The pool is empty save for about a foot of dirty water and trash in the bottom of it. The key to my room said it was a key to a different room. There were very noisy guests that stayed loud until late in the night, but the onsite manager never did anything to try to quiet them down as they were yelling inside and outside of their room.

Jack (4/5): - booked room through Orbitz, read reviews. The front desk gave me a room that looked like a murder had happened there in 1989. everything in the room was broken and dirty. They had no idea I had my dog with me, I looked for a pet friendly hotel through Orbitz, you guys should refund or voucher me for this. I'll never go back.

Jodi (2/5): Racist Establishment - I had a reservation and I arrived during check-in time. They told me they had no available rooms. Yet they said they had rooms available online on many different websites. I believe I was turned away because of my skin color. The front desk clerk was not a nice person. He wouldn’t even look at my reservation information.

Had to explain to the motel clerk that I had a reservation after being told that they had no rooms available during check in. On the upside, this place does NOT appear to be infested with cockroaches and bedbugs which is more than I can say about some of the other accommodations in town (I.e Baymont Inn).

jeremie (2/5): - sewer was broken and toilet did not flush and the manager seamed like he was on drugs and really weird like he rushed to the room and directly to the bathroom like he had to hide something also the internet was not working so he could not charge my card when i checked out the next day i stopped at the front and dropped my key and asked the manager if everything was ok and went through he said ya everything is fine now a couple days later mysteriously my card is not working and they need me to provide some other form of payment it seams really really fishy to me and the day i left that place i was wondering if i was going to have to file fraud claims against this place for false charges or over charges looks like i have to keep and eye on this card
Joshua (8/5): Nice place - Nice place, the man behind the counter was friendly and helpful. Turned the AC on for us before we got there. Overall the room was nice. The outside environment was nice and quiet.

There were fuzz bunnies in the soap dish, plus had that fresh can of Lysol smell. I slept in my clothes and didn't shower. It also listed continental breakfast but the office was closed.
Verified traveler (2/5): - The front desk clerk/manager is a complete jerk. I arrived at 9 and the office was empty. I assumed the manager would be back so I waited in my car parked in front. Some guy came up to my door and said in a very aggressive tone, move your car, that's my space. Since I was right in front of the office, it made no sense so I asked who he was. Manager. I said I'm trying to check in. He said if you don't move your car you aren't checking in. Ok. After I moved I saw I wasn't in his space but he wanted to drive through the space I was in so he didn't have to parallel park - he could drive straight into "his spot". I went in an just kinda joking sais maybe you should put up a sign. I had no idea I couldn't park there. He looked at me and said "I can refuse service to anyone and I don't have a room for you". I said I reserved a non-refundable room through Orbitz. He said you won't get charged but you aren't staying here. I drove 30 minutes back to Williams and stayed in a nicer and cheaper Motel 6 (everything else in Willows was booked). Be on your best behavior when you check into this place is all I can say. And don't park in front of the office.
Mike (8/5): - Good family hotel, reasonably priced even if it was a little bit outside of town. Very quiet and clean overall. Only downside was that they do not provide Wi-Fi. But otherwise thumbs up.

The gardening and landscaping is beautiful. Coffee is provided in room, no breakfast available. There is a fridge in room for your own stuff.we will definitely return, locates in old highway , 3 miles from freeway, quiet at night.

I should have stated I was allergic to smells when I booked the room. He never offered another room so I left. A few days later I learned they charged me for 3 days. This is so unethical. I booked this too in good faith that it would meet minamul standards.?travel all the time for business and have never refused a room.
Tyler (8/5): Peaceful and Quiet. - The location wasn’t as ideal being on the outskirts, but it was quiet and peaceful. Very clean and nice set up, the service was poor as in there was none. There was no WiFi or breakfast. But for the price you couldn’t complain too much.

Jose (8/5): Good motel - you get what you pay for. - The motel is what you pay for... very simple, clean room. Room decor and TV is outdated. Breakfast included is a plus.
Robert (2/5): - The motel was off an exit several miles north of the city it was supposed to be in. The exit has no other services and the motel is several miles off the exit on an old road. The only food service was 7 or 8 miles south. My car GPS didn't have the address and my phone GPS directions didn't make any sense because it kept taking me into the sticks. It took two phones calls to get me there. Once there after an hour of looking, the manager was rude and the parking lot was extremely deteriorated. The TV in the room was from the 80's with very poor quality reception, especially on the local channels and the supposed continental breakfast was a joke. The only way for them to get the star rating was for them to be doing their on ratings. Very overpriced!!!

Verified traveler (4/5): - My husband and I stayed at the Blue Gum Motel solely because it was the only one we could find that night. The man behind the counter was nice, but not informative. The website mentioned the room came with a breakfast, but he didn’t say anything about it. We had to ask about the WiFi password and he mumbled something. This should have been attached to the key tag the the other hotels we’ve been at. Since there was no literature next to the phone, we couldn’t call the front desk. There were many problems with the room we stayed in. There was everything to make coffee, but there was NO coffee maker. The one styrofoam cup in the basket had a hair in it. One night stand had an oily substance all over it. There also was a hair in the sink. No outlets on either side of the bed so I could use my CPAP machine. The shower head needs cleaning and the shower drain needs to be cleaned out. After two 5 minute or less showers, there was several inches of dirty water. Next time I would drive further to find a different place to rest for the night.
RICHARD (6/5): - Showed up at 7 pm. Called on motel phone to find receptionist. Was told to wait 10 minutes. After getting to room heat was off. Back to lobby. He came to plug in unit. Not what i wanted after a long trip. Next morning went to lobby for breakfast which i was told started at 6:30. Closed. Called on phone but no answer. Came back 10 minutes later and was told to come back in 20 minutes. Next day at breakfast noticed that milk was 9 days after “use by” date.
