BPB2012 (8/5): Good hotel in Guwahati - Last week I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in connection with a conference. Room was good with all amenities. Banquet for meeting was also good with all amenities - however the LED panel was not displaying the full text. Considering Taj name, I feel service needs to improve. In my room, one morning after housekeeping, hand towel was not changed and when I asked housekeeping, I was assured to send but ultimately did not come. At breakfast also, my friend asked for a paratha but the same took unusually long time to be served. I also found the quality of food not of the usual Taj standard.

The house keeping staff, the staff in the buffet, the entire set of vivanta staff was very humnlr and polite. I requested for spicy maggie and the maggie they gave was drool worthy. Special thanks to Ms. Rajashree for being so kind and humble. She was so polite and welcoming. Would to stay there everytime I visit Guwahati.

Room offered to me had a bad smell and post complaining they sprayed fragrance but in my two day stay it never went. Housekeeping was well below average.. did not find many things like handgers, bathroom cup holders.. bed and linen has aged and did not had freshness.. tea kettle had water from last guest perhaps.. disappointing Food spread and taste was good.

In-room dining was a nightmare and no one seemed to pick up the phone, I had to call reception everytime and when they did cll, orders were delayed or forgotten. Experinces in the coffee shop was also similar. Infact we were cursing why did we opt for this hotel. Overall, my stay was a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend your hotel to anyone.

I don't remember all the staff names, reception staff Dixita , was quite helpful and patient, also all the in room dining staffs were very good and professional.

Everything was fantastic except the the distance from the airport, as it is over 40kms from Guwahati airport, experiencing en route heavy lorries traffic.
347kundans (10/5): Cmforatbel stay - As usual it was a very comfortable stay. However the quality of fruits served in breakfast can be improved. Located in Guwahati, you are the gateway to NE and stil you select watermelons to be served for breakfast in January !!! Why ? If you really want to celebrate the spirit of Assam (or the NE) do include food choices (not only cooked) but also fruits from the region.

drvavv (2/5): Pathetic experience - Arrival experience was terrible especially the front desk lady staff was not helpful.we were assigned a terrible room and after checking a couple of rooms we finally settled in one. Towels were so dated and grey in color . Didn’t even feel like using it . Restaurant seven is not organized well and food is just average. Nothing to look forward to. I have had all the 3 meals and everything failed to live up to Taj standards.During check out the same lady at the reception were so biased that she made us wait for so long inspite of requesting to keep the bill ready in advance. We almost missed our flight. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It failed to keep up the Taj standards

His personalized service left a lasting impression on us. He walked the extra mile to see that me and my family were taken care of very well. Totally devoted to his job of customer satisfaction and sets an idea example for his whole team. Second in line Mr Himanshu Yadav walks in the footsteps of his captain. He was there all the time for us whenever we needed him. He also took very good care of us. Our check in to this property was handled by F. O. incharge Triyash who greeted us with a very warm welcome and a smile and guided us to our room. He made our check in Super Smooth. Loknath F&B took very good care of us and attented to all our requests immediately with a smile. A big thanks to Chef Sayantan and Chef Asim for preparing the most delicious food for us all the time and attending to us personally. They made sure that we were well fed with different delicacies and our stomachs were full all the time. Thanks to Chef Sudesh and Chef Rohit also for taking care of us. Special mention has to be made of Himanshu, Nitesh, Dawa, Sushmita, Biswajit and Bikas in the restaurant. In room dining Aakash Das attended to all our requirements with a smile. Housekeeping in charge Sumita ably assisted by Nipen, Manoj, Gunjar, Rabha, Alok and Partho kept our room soanking clean and always done up. They used to decorate our room everyday because it was my birthday.

There were some delays in checking in and checking out so perhaps smoothing out the process might be a good idea. The food was excellent. The choice of light colored carpet in the hallways unfortunately show glaringly obvious stains. We appreciated the air purifiers. This stay was towards the end of our trip and we appreciated the comfort, food, and spa.

Shikha (1/5): - Location We were given a room where basic facilities such as shower gel, toothbrush etc were not provided. When we complained, they sent a staff to open their fixed shower gel holder and replenish the shower gel. He entered the bathroom with his shoes on and stepped on the bathmat with his shoes on. When we raised alarm on that, another staff member came with some spirit to spray on the mat to clean it. They took all payment upfront. They charged 12000 for 2 people for gala night dinner where the food spread was limited and mutton was stale. 6000 per head was not worth it at all. While they did upgrade our room post our complaints and also converted the gala dinner on the house but that wasn't expected from a Taj property.

The tables are scratched/ shaking, half the switches weren't working and the toilet was a mess. Buffet and the Restaurant was good. The room standards needs to be drastically improved.

The suites are excellent, with a beautiful hillside view of Guwahati. The breakfast spread has an Assamese counter with poita bhaat and pithas. The food is good. Warmth and attentiveness is outstanding. I have also attended events including the last one of Balipara Foundation. The arrangements there were equally good. So was the special dinner laid out for us as guest invitees. It's a place I always book whenever I am in Guwahati.

232jeets (10/5): Wonderful stay with great hospitality - We stayed at Vivanta Guwahati for a week while attending a friend’s wedding and had a genuinely lovely experience. We were travelling with our baby, and the staff went out of their way to help with timely food and anything else we needed. They also arranged a car for us, upgraded our room, and didn’t charge for the extra hour for car, which was a thoughtful touch. The food was consistently great, especially the in-room dining, and the housekeeping team was incredibly warm and attentive. Overall, a really comfortable and memorable stay.
