- Graeme (10/5): - The property is a beautiful old house in a delightful historic village. The owner has decorated it with taste and style and everything is of the finest quality. The owner also goes to a lot of trouble to make your stay comfortable, providing breakfast early for us before we headed to the airport and phoning the village pub to see if they had a table before our arrival. I couldn't recommend it highly enough - 10 out of 10 is just not enough!

- Alan (10/5): One of our nicest stays ever - Or perhaps even the nicest. Fiona was such a welcoming hostess - she showed us the ropes straight away, had previously suggested where we might eat and told us about the shortcut into town. The house is really nice, very tastefully done up with superb views over Cromarty Firth. Our bedroom was lovely, well equipped with fruit and biscuits as well as tea and coffee and everything worked as it should. Breakfast the next morning was superb and we were given tips on points of interest for the next part of our tour. What more could one ask?

- Susan (10/5): - Fiona at Factor’s House could run a Master’s class on how to set up and run a B&B! Of all our stops on the NC500 tour, this was by far the best. The location is beautiful, set down a wooded lane and a short walk from the lovely village of Cromarty. The house is a quaint older home that has been beautifully and impeccablely restored! You are staying in a charming traditional B&B but one which is tasteful and and extremely comfortable as well.Fiona has thought of everything that you as a guest might want and need… and offers all in the highest quality. The common areas are beautiful as well and although there is no bar, Fiona offers an array of fine spirits ( at least 20 gins!) for her guests to make their own drinks at an incredibly reasonable price and based on the honor system. Unfortunately we came in a Sunday night and did not have an opportunity to enjoy her legendary 3 course dinner but we did enjoy the best breakfast of our trip in the beautiful wood paneled dining room. The scrambled eggs and cold and warm smoked salmon were outstanding…at the gourmet level as was the bowl of fresh fruit, coffee, croissants, etc that we were offered. This place was outstanding and must be the best value for money of any place in Scotland! We dream of one day returning but will definitely recommend to our friends and anyone else who may be traveling Scotland!

- Alan (10/5): A stay to remember - Fantastic Stay at The Factors House over 3 nights. Our host, Fiona,was lovely. Very helpful with local tips and places to visit, a great cook with an amazing breakfast selection. Evening meal was sensational too. Room was very clean and tidy with a lovely big bath appreciated by my wife. Bed was very comfy and level of cleanliness was great. Do not hesitate to book.
- lesley (10/5): The Fabulous Factor's House - The Factor's House, Cromarty is simply the most comfortable, calm and delightful place to stay. Everything speaks of peace and rest. The three-bedroomed house consists of lounge/bar, dining-room, two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Your hostess is there to ensure that your stay is easy. You can opt for dinner which is a set menu and excellent. Breakfast is a fabulous start to the day with a choice that you make the evening before. Rooms are very comfortable and the best sheets are used.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a beautiful hotel. The host is a joy and so versatile. Homemade soaps, candles, art and lampshades are available to remind you of your stay. The breakfast was excellent and there is a lounge with a very well stocked bar.
- Andrew (10/5): - A superbly kept residence of the highest standard. The food is just superb. Excellent wine selection and the bar in the lounge is exceptional for choice and quality. My advice is don’t miss out on the set menu meal it’s not to be missed. If you think it’s a bit expensive I can assure you the value vs quality equation is well surpassed. Local produce cooked with great skill by Fiona and in a lovely dining room. Breakfast was to the same high standard too Will be back at some time in the future for sure. If your doing the NC 500 it’s worth the 40 min detour to this lovely place and where else do you get to see an oil rig graveyard at the same time

Lots of extras in the room, nothing was left to chance for her guests. Homemade jams and chutneys and beautiful soaps on sale in the foyer. Location also great for the town. Would highly recommend this property and would definitely return.

No bother to book a restaurant or recommendations of nearby attractions. Beware of the breakfast choice you may be there a while. The hens are partial to a strawberry or two. We'd love to come back.

The breakfasts were delicious and we arranged to have dinner one night which was also amazing. Not to mention the excellent selection of local gins on offer! Fiona really went out of her way to look after us and help us make the most of our stay with her local knowledge. We wouldn’t have changed a thing!
- william z. (10/5): Hidden Highland Gem - Well off the highly traveled path is this little gem in Cromarty. Fiona is a delight and she has created a very comfortable and well designed place to stay in the Scottish Highlands, less than an hour's drive from Inverness Airport. The home is very pretty and our guest room could not have been nicer. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and afterwards we took a long stroll into the village center which is charming. We highly recommend this property if you are anywhere near Inverness and want to explore the beauty of the Highlands.
- Philip (10/5): Excellent small hotel/B&B in superb location - The Factor's House is a beautiful building in the charming village of Cromarty. Although we saw it advertised as a B&B (and the price reflects that), its quality really deserves a higher category. It's more like a high class hotel that only has three bedrooms - there's a lovely lounge and an alcohol licence too. The accommodation, welcome and breakfast were all excellent. As a bonus, Fiona also offers dinner by prior arrangement, and that's also high quality. For added entertainment, there were deer frolicking in the garden as we ate, and the eggs were from the hens which wandered around outside. Cromarty is a gem of a seaside village at the eastern end of the beautiful Black Isle, with fine architecture, views and walks. If you're travelling north (or returning) there is a seasonal car ferry to Nigg - this cuts the distance to Tain and the A9 significantly.

- Janel (10/5): Loveliest B&B! - The Factor's House is a really beautiful place in a lovely location outside of Inverness area. The house itself was very tastefully decorated, historical roots, but modern sensibility and comforts. The bathroom is to die for...sadly did not get a chance to take a long bath, but maybe next time! Fiona was very kind and helpful with giving us ideas of which road to take on the way West towards Skye (we loved the Northern road - remote, but gorgeous) and we stopped in Plockton on her recommendation and it was such a picturesque spot! Breakfast was definitely some of the best we had on our entire trip - delicious and even homemade local jams and fruit compotes. One warning about the town is that it's one of the smaller towns we visited and most things close early so plan ahead and make reservations for dinner (they only have a few restaurants in town and they were all closed by ~9p).

The bed was extremely comfortable. I commented on just how quiet and peaceful our stay was. Honestly could not here a single thing at night. Breakfast was to die for. I stay over in a lot of places. And because there is so much choice out there. I rarely ever stay in the same place more than once. But The Factors House is definitely on my list to visit again

We had an exceptional breakfast which lasted us all day and chose to have dinner at the B&B which was delicious. A wonderfully located B&B nice and quiet but easy access into Cromarty. Fiona and Graham were so helpful with local advice on where to go and what to see, endless patience with our endless questions! Highly recommended. Great location for easy access to the Highlands and Cairngorms etc. Everyone was so friendly and delighted to share recommendations of places to go and see
