Guest Reviews
- Claire (6/5): - Staff are all good but sometimes I don’t like an ant
- FELICIANO (6/5): stay in Los BAnos - breakfast serving take so long and food variety in the menu is not available in the kitchen
- Felicidad (6/5): - Staff are friendly and courteous. Need lots of renovations especially the wash room such as changing the toilet bowl, faucet leaking, change flooring . Light in the powder area not working and need to clean the air conditioner are they are so dusty and noisy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): My stay there. - The staff are courteous and very helpful. The breakfast is delicious. The room is good, but there are no toiletries. You have to buy then in the lobby. There is no drinking water available inside the room. You have to bring your pitcher down and ask one of the staff to bring you drinking water from their cafeteria.
- adelpha (6/5): - Average hotel. It’s good to stay for overnight. Long-term stay might be difficult because they only offer basic amenities. Only one free towel provided for each customer. 400 pesos charge for extra towel request. The bathroom faucet below the shower head is the only one that has hot water. Room with kitchenette needs renovation. Only the main pool was open because there were only few people booked on that day. Love the breakfast. Very nice and friendly staffs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet, relaxing place - The place was very relaxing. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The rooms were updated. It was very convenient to have the indoor pool in the room. Overall rating exceeds my expectation. The only place in Los Banos that had indoor pool option. It was well worth it. Just wish the site will update City of Springs availability. It kept showing sold out/no more available rooms but there were a lot of available rooms for travellers to try. Give the hotel credit for exceeding customer expectations. I wish I can do more do help drive people to check out this lovely place.
- Gene (8/5): - The property is clean and the staff are very accommodating. There are just areas that are already old and needs to be renovated. The price is just right for the available packages and amenities. There is just limited parking slot.
- Reginald (8/5): - Service was great. The facility is old and could use some ipdating , but the rooms were clean and the hot pool was very well maintained. Breakfast in the morning was included and good. Nice for the price.
- Vincent (8/5): Helpful staff - It's a nice hotel and the young girls at the reception are very polite and helpful.
- Mayangels (6/5): Dip and relax - Spent my pre bday celeb with my family.
since napaka aga namin for check in we decided to swim muna while waiting for early check in. Okey naman ung place but ung kiddie pool my mga bugs dami kagat ng husband ko siguro galing sa mga plants. Our room was big enough for 4. Indoor pool inde maxado na enjoy kasi hot spring nga ang tagal mg cool down ng water nag dradrain pa ewan sira ata ung drainage. Eat dinner wow ang mahal..
Sa staff okey naman need lng ng improvement sa facilities and rates
- Ibrahim (6/5): For information - , There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms
Jacuzzi in the room is only for one hour
- ZiggySanvictores (6/5): Nice place to relax, feels like you're in a private pool - Good for family reunions, it feels like you're in a private pool. The standard room cost only 1,500 pesos and check out time is 12 noon. Water in the pool is clean and warm. You are allowed to bring your own food and beverages inside. Ordering food takes time because the food is cooked in Splash Mountain Resort (same management) and will be delivered after 40mins to 1 hour. Cottages cost 700 pesos with 10 chairs available.
Nice place to relax.
- Louie (8/5): - Near the lake and the is nice.
The only setback is no WiFi.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bathroom screen window has hole that insects comes thru being attracted to the bathroom light
- 388jmt (10/5): Urgent inquiry - I’ve been here before but I can’t find their contact info. Is there any cellphone number available to call to contact the resort?
If anyone can post their number I’d very much appreciate it so I can book the room with the pool inside again for my birthday weekend!
- ddg858 (8/5): The indoor pool is just wow - City of Springs may not be a new property but it still wows. Be sure to get the room with the biggest indoor pool. We had it filled at night, and the water is naturally warm. Even in the morning when we woke up and the aircon was open the whole night, the water is still nice and warm.
There is also a bigger pool outside, and the good thing is it is also natural hot spring water, not chlorinated, and changed regularly.
- EurAznSF (8/5): Warm Spring Water in the Pools - For the price, we left feeling we found a steal. We chose the lakeside room with the inside pool where hot spring water was pumped in. It is a relief to not smell like chlorine from the day long pool sessions.
We took a bus from Manila and we walked an easy 50 meters from the highway to the gate.
Ideal for families and groups, this resort also has meeting rooms.
Service was fine, the hotel staff was filled with smiles. The drawback is the restaurant. However there is a food option walking distance from the gate that
- J7105ZFdavidc (4/5): Nice pool, shame about the room - At first glance this hotel looked ideal and at a very fair price. The pool with its hot springs water supply was excellent. The main room looked decent enough with seating and double bed. It the bathroom was a different story with what looked like bird droppings on the top of the tiling next to the screen mesh at the window. The curtain had mouldy bits on it and the shower area looked like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly for a while.
The balcony overlooked Laguna Lake and the view was really nice. There was a table and two chairs.. Unfortunately cigarette butts from the previous tenant had not been picked up and the flooring swept. Another disgrace was the air con socket that was hanging loose.
- mykoreatrip2015 (6/5): Breakfast Cheat - Went to stay there on 28/12/2017. check in early for 1 family room room and charge us for 2 night. Which is standard operating procedure. The other family room we waited until the normal 2 oclk check in. the following morning we ask for breakfast . the reception lady said not included since we booked direct to them. If we booked in expedia it is same price but with breakfast included. we have been staying in this hotel nearly almost every year and first time we did not have a breakfast. we pay for 3 nights stay.. not coming back anymore...
- sacrotravel (2/5): Alk dump with great potential - On the good side the staff at this hotel were outstanding. They were kind, attentive, and extremely professional. The food was above average.
On the negative side the hotel, while in a good location lakeside, is a dump. It hasn't been updated since the 1970's. The shower was regularly without pressure (for several of our rooms), the toilets didn't flush and weren't repaired despite two requests, the beds were like planks of wood, and the lighting was totally inadequate for anyone but a mole. There are much better choices in Los Banos.
- Pau (8/5): - old hotel.. but homey. the staff were accomodating. you get what you paid for, and it is worth it
- Paul (6/5): Old and worn out but good food and a nice pool - The buildings are very old and in need of some repairs but overall it's clean and comfortable, an enjoyable experience
- adamsgal_2001 (4/5): Outdated but clean, has maintenance issues - We arrived at 4pm and upon check-in, we were requested to pay the full amount straight away. We booked a family suite room with 4 beds and an indoor pool. The room was clean but already outdated. It evidently has maintenance issues and in need of renovation. Some blankets and all the towels were missing, and there was no toilet paper. Went to the front desk to request for the said items, they apologized for the oversight, but made lame excuses.
The indoor pool was empty, we had to request to have it filled in. Didn't take long for the pool to be filled. The water was nice and warm, our family really enjoyed it. There is a nice lakeview at the back portion of the property.
I was disappointed with the attitude of the girls in the front desk as they were bickering in front of us during the checkout process. They were disorganized and were blaming each other in front of guests, very unprofessional.
Overall experience was just okay. Will not go back.
- Marcela (2/5): Clogged Drainage - very wet and no toilet paper.
all drainage is clog. shower drainage is clog. You have to pump all the time.
Very slippery cause it is wet all the time
Seat cover is faulty.
very old linen
- vhengs (6/5): Good if you're with your family - Me with my two best girl buddies went here for a quick overnight bonding, the place is nice and have a very quiet and relaxing vibe on it although we felt out of place because i think this place is more ideal for family gatherings than a trio of misfits like us. But we're fine with it, the staffs are courteous and polite, the food is so so, the room and pools are clean.
I only had some problem about the price of their beer which is 55 each, i bought 3 so i gave the guy the exact amount but he told me it comes with a service charge, it baffles me to think that they only took those beers out of the fridge and i had to pay for that service? Like, c'mon now. Plus the water in the indoor pool is so warm we hardly used it. There's still a lot of room for improvement.
Overall, we had a blast and may come back again one day.
- JanaChicc (8/5): A night well spent! - 1. They have 2 outdoor pool, kiddie and adult.
2. BBQ area - Yes, Free. or rent for 40.00
3. Chair and Table - 700.00
4. Parking - free
5. Restaurant - Yes, nice food too. Not that pricey.
6. Location - Easy to find. Nearby market etc.
INDOOR POOL - is wow.
The bed is comfy too. Overall it was an awesome stay!
- jyngjynzachywin2 (8/5): Relaxing Getaway - Our family favorite getaway in LB : ) been here several times , usually during Summer and its always a relaxing experience to soothe back pains and achy knees. We normally occupy the room in the 2nd floor , with a view of the basketball court on the other side. Staff are nice , you should also try their rooms with pool from the inside. We never dined at their establishment ( its kinda pricey ) and its best that you bring your own food or you can just buy at the nearby market.
- ancientmurrelet (6/5): Nice Hotel on Lake with Pool - I was on a bird watching trip in the area and stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was pretty basic (nothing special) but I enjoyed the grounds and the fact that there was an outside restaurant. Also liked being able to lounge around outside near the pool and lakeside. Food was fine but did not care for the cats roaming around under the tables as you were eating.
- davidcD3072ZD (8/5): Highly Recommend, but...... - I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for 3 nights in December, 2016. The room was very clean, and the view from the balcony was awesome, especially early morning, when the lake was like a mirror. If you haven't already worked it out, I chose the Lake View room.
The shower has only 1 faucet, but it is fed from the hot springs. It is a bit of a lottery as to whether you have a hot, warm, or a slightly above cold shower, as the temperature is controlled by nature. This wasn't an issue for me, as I have stayed in hotels in the Philippines, where your only choice is cold (lamig lamig).
As an overseas visitor, I have only negative, which is the difficulty with booking a room, which I found complex, and antiquated. They require 50% deposit to be paid into their PBI bank account, and you need to email, or fax a copy on the deposit receipt to them as confirmation. On checking in, you need to give them the original, along with the balance. This may not be a problem for people living in the Philippines, but can be a problem for any overseas visitors contemplating staying there. I am fortunate enough to have a friend there, who I could send the money to, to pay the deposit. She then sent me a scanned copy, so I could email it. My suggestion is they modify their booking service, to allow VISA, or other credit cards to pay online.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Budget hotel, don't expect anything more. - The only difference is that you get a dipping pool for yourself but the condition is so old and it looks so dirty.
The trash cans look terrible, you wouldn't wanna touch it.
The room has mosquitoes.
The bathroom only has hot shower, no cold water.
Breakfast is disappointing as well, I ordered pork tapa and the pork they used taste like old meat.
NEEDS RENOVATION. A LOT OF IT.
- Peter (8/5): Good place for the price - Not bad resort on the lake. Indoor pool is great. Worse part was running and leaky toilet. Excellent service though by staff who fixed it. Price is good food is good. Enjoyable stay.
- Graciela (6/5): - We enjoyed the indoor pool and the privacy.
- carmellaa2016 (8/5): Love the pool inside the room - City of springs is unique because of the mini pool inside your room, it only cost 2,500.00 no, free breakfast though. They have free wifi ( in the reception) also staffs are very kind :) they even allowed us to install our magic sing in the room without additional charge.
- prinzheinelgirl (6/5): pretty basic but rather decent, hot springs and private pool in room are the main draws - The hotel is old but still decent. I don't expect 4 star amenities in the Los Banos/ Calamba area anyway. My niece and I had a room with a private pool. It was really relaxing and rather cheap. My niece also enjoyed her 4:00 am swim at the main pool (the water was hot/warm).
The staff, especially the kitchen staff, were great. Variety of food was rather extensive for a small hotel - not expensive and the servings were more than adequate.
Overall, it was a good stay and worth the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - The place is nice and homey, though the bed and beddings are a bit old. We stayed overnight at a room with lake view and veranda, which is a plus as we were able to see how locals make use of the lake - boating, fishing, relaxing by the bay. Overall good experience for a short stay.
- rainieregos (6/5): Overnight Stay - It wasn't the best place, but it is enough to spend some quality and relaxing time. The room (C12) looks old and outdated plus the aircon wasn't really cold. But having an indoor pool made it a good deal.
The pool outside was not that big. Sufficient parking space. But be ready because the small driveway will give you a bit of a hard time going out of the hotel.
The staff were helpful and with average customer service.
As for the food, I suggest you buy outside.
- steve (8/5): Nice views of the lake... - Ideal start point for the falls, 1 hour drive for the memory of a lifetime....
- DataManila (4/5): Ok for the price but wishing there were better alternatives - It's hard to find a good, quiet, updated place to stay in the heart of Los banos. City of springs location is good because it is near the public market and just a jeepney ride away from Olivarez shopping center and UP Los Banos. However, for someone who needs peace and quiet, City of Springs can get very loud because they allow night swimming. One time, it was so loud even at 2 am that I had to call the front desk for help but to no avail. We stayed at the lakeside room. It was quaint and cute BUT there were so many lizards outside the room and a few inside that there were lizard droppings everywhere! The cleaning staff were kind and would clean the room the best way they can but the lizards will always get the best of them. The tv in the room also have very very limited channels sometimes only 1. Some family members stayed at the family room with kitchenette and that room was more updated. Less lizards but there were some cockroaches. Tv was newer but still very limited channels.
One good thing about the lakeside room, hot and cold drinking water dispenser was available along the hallway outside the rooms.
Verdict: if you go there for the swimming, city of springs is a good place to consider specially if you have no plans in staying long in your rooms. But if you want a hotel where you can relax in your room and enjoy a good night's sleep I really wish there were better alternatives to be found in Los Banos as most hotels are in Calamba.
- 132paulineq (6/5): So-So kinda hotel - We went here for our honeymoon. My husband just had a 2-day leave from the office so we couldnt afford to go elsewhere far in this kind of short period of time. this hotel is just 5 minutes away from our place.
we checked-in at a room with indoor pool + jacuzzi. we inquired at nearly 18:00 and arrived in at 18:30. surprisingly, the pool wasn't ready yet. the aircon unit wasn't turned on. and no slippers were available. the food is kinda pricey however you can bring your own inside.
verdict: 3.5 out of 5.
- s12796 (8/5): Old and quiet hotel - It was on weekday and there were only 2 groups of guest including mine. The hostel is old and undergoing refurbishment but the major hot springs pool is functional. Located next to the Laguna but isolated from the town centre. However you can call for delivery. Place is also near to local market place. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Wifi don't work in the room, only at the pool/restaurant area.
