Mémorable, sur le côté, jamais expérimenté auparavant , recommandé à 100% Bon…puisqu’il le faut : - le petit déjeuner japonais avec sardine fumée crevettes nains piquants…c’est un peu dur pour un européen - le fait que les futons soient rangés dans la journée et que les lits ne sont refaits que le soir… - les murs de la petite pièce où on prenait notre dîner en tête à tête et le balcon de la chambre mériteraient un nettoyage

• Yannick (10/5): Fantastic onsens! - - The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They also spoke great English - The onsen is amazing: there is a male only section, a female only section and a mixed section. Males/Female only sections have an indoor pool, a sauna, a Korean sauna, two outdoor onsens and a standing up onsen. Those are Japanese style onsens where full nudity is expected. There is also a mixed-gender onsens will a large outdoor onsen and a cave onsen. In the mixed onsens, both men and women have to wear a Yuami (sort of "towel skirt" for men and a "towel dress" for women). If you aren't comfortable with full nudity then this is perfect to experience the onsen. They also have two private onsens that you can rent out for a small fee, but we didn't need them as the onsens were fairly quiet, especially after 9pm. - The hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, whilst you could come by bus, a car is probably better (especially to be able to explore the beautiful area!). This was a plus for us as it was very quiet and the location next to a large waterfall is fantastic. - The room is massive and has a small fridge. This was our favorite hotel so far during our trip in Japan, we couldn't wait to get back to the hotel everyday to enjoy the onsen! - No vegetarian/vegan options at the restaurant, so we didn't use it. - Between 10pm-6am the outdoor mixed pool is female only, and you can't use the sauna. Between 9am-12pm the whole onsen is closed for cleaning. (It is nice to know that the onsens are being cleaned frequently though, but it would be better if this was done in the middle of the day when most people are out) - The Japanese style beds are quite thin. (But you can double them up if you have spare beds)

I ordered for my family the pre ordered dinner and it was really not good sadly. Tbh the price for 1 night was quite overpriced for a room with just futons and terrible food in the restaurant. Its rare a hotel in Japan provides bad food and this was a rare situation hence why I needed to make the comment so they hopefully will improve for future guests.

• Ching (10/5): I truly do not have enough good words to describe this hotel. It is beautiful, & worth every penny. - The hotel offers breathtaking mountain and river views from the balcony. From inside the room, we could hear the soothing sound of water flowing through the Hirayu River. The live volcano, Mount Yakedake, stands directly in front of the hotel’s balcony sliding doors. Falling asleep to the sound of the river was an unforgettable experience. Two of us are vegetarians, and one of us does not eat seafood. The hotel specially prepared our meals three days in advance. We were extremely impressed by the gourmet kaiseki. We were completely full — one of us even fell asleep in the restaurant! Just when we thought a dish was the last course, more dishes kept arriving. We were guided into a private Japanese dining room with tatami flooring, sliding doors, and traditional roofing. The room was beautiful. For just one meal, there were multiple heating devices — steamers, heated metal plates, and small stoves warmed by candles. The hotel service was equally impressive. Each day, they confirmed our preferred meal times and prepared our beds while we were dining. On the first night, I thought the hotel had made a mistake because the quilt covers and pillowcases were gone. I contacted the staff to request replacements, only to realize they had simply moved the table and chairs back to the tatami area and set up our beds while we were at dinner. Regarding transportation, the bus stops at the hotel only every two hours during certain times of the day, while it runs more frequently at the bear park. Since my mother has knee problems and cannot walk long distances — even though the park and hotel are only one bus stop apart — I contacted the hotel. To our surprise, they came to pick us up before the bus arrived. The hotel also has two new washer/dryer machines that were not listed in their amenities. We also tried the public onsens. From the mixed-gender outdoor onsen, we could see the entire mountain view.

Las habitaciones muy grandes. Te dejan tu kimono , zapatillas etc. La cena con muchos platos y muy buena Muy bonito el onsen El desayuno también es estilo japonés por lo que si no te gusta desayunar arroz, pescado etc tenerlo en cuenta. Está lejos de Takayama, a 1h en el bus local, por la montaña

• Miriam (6/5): Una decepción. - La habitación era muy amplia, con suelo de tatami y eso, tipo habitación japonesa tradicional con la cama en el suelo y eso, que era lo que buscábamos. Estaba muy limpia cuando llegamos, aunque no olía demasiado bien... No estoy muy segura de por qué. Las vistas desde el cuarto a la montaña y el río eran espectaculares. Los Onsen Mixtos son pura fantasía. El personal era amable, pero no parecían saber demasiado inglés, si a eso le juntamos que nosotros tampoco hablamos de forma fluida la comunicación se hizo bastante complicada, sobre todo en la cena, donde estás en una habitación privada, delante de un montón de platos, que debes preparar o mezclar y no sabes cómo hacerlo, y el personal intentó contárnoslo con señas lo mejor que pudo 😢 Hablando de la cena, era una cena de 10 platos, lo que sentimos como excesivo, a parte de los platos que teníamos nada más sentarnos, nos traían mas. Hubo un momento en que simplemente quería escapar de la sala para que dejaran de tráerme comida... Y bueno, algunas cosas si estaban ricas, otras no tanto... Doy gracias a qué como teníamos que salir pronto cancelamos el desayuno... También cuando lo cancelamos, le dijimos a la de recepción que es que saldríamos a las 6 am y nos dijo que no había autobuses hasta las 9 am... Cosa que contradecía Google y lo que nos habían dicho en la estación de buses de takayama... Nos hizo sentir una ansiedad muy tonta a estarnos equivocando, pero efectivamente ahí estuvo el autobús a la hora que pensábamos. El Onsen....tengo tatuajes y no hubo problemas para usarlos. Los mixtos eran geniales... Los Onsen de mujeres... Bueno, no pude estar mucho tiempo, toda esa zona tenía un olor muy fuerte a alcantarilla... En fin, creo que por el precio que tiene seguro que hay opciones mucho mejores, y tampoco mereció la pena el desvío que hay que hacer en la ruta para llegar hasta allí. Es una lástima, porque era el hotel que más ilusión me hacía.

Staff had very good service. Beautiful mountain and waterfall scenery Room was rather small for 5 pax. The futons took up most of floor space leaving little room to open luggages.

They practically bowed halfway with every interaction, making the service feel exceptionally respectful - easy access from Takayama - one of the open-air onsens was out of service with no prior information - the onsens were very old and worn out, clearly in need of renovation - the kaiseki dinner tasted really bad (even though I genuinely enjoy Japanese cuisine). It was a nice experience and beautifully presented, though - there was an unpleasant smell throughout the hotel, not just in the room, but noticeable from the moment we entered building (like cooking seafood with soy sauce)

I enjoyed the nature side so much here. The highlight was the staff - especially the women at reception Deki and Nway and in the restaurant Chimi and Joy did an incredible good job. As a vegetarian it is not always easy to find hotels that provide vegetarian dinner option. As there is nothing around I needed to eat in the hotel and they made special set meals for me which tasted so good. I highly appreciated their effort for my comfort. Arigato!!

• Eyal (10/5): - The hot bath (Onsen) is just great, and the exterior mix Onsen is beautiful (we visited during the foliage peak). Rooms are spacious and you get the full Japanese experience. We arrived late and had dishes from the 'a la cart' menu which were not that great. We didn't try the Japanese set menu which should be good

• John (9/5): Top ervaring in heerlijk hotel met onsen - Prachtig hotel met (gezamenlijk deel in) onsen. Geweldig. We hadden een Japanse kamer. Super leuke ervaring. Op de grote parkeerplaats konden we prima parkeren. Dichtbij Kamakochi. Ontbijt was super en diner was goed. Leuk!

• James (10/5): Incredible location and facilities...highly recommend - The door man kicked off the stay with a very welcoming gesture during a rainy arrival. Umbrellas, assistance to find a parking spot, taking our luggage, etc. The hotel itself is amazing from rooms, dining, to the incredible onsen with co-ed area. Views of a mountain river / man-made waterfall from the room. There's also a sort of train in front of the hotel that's been converted to a karaoke party area - fun nighttime activity for friends and family. Definitely worth a visit.

• 2brd-Flat-Marais-garden (6/5): It was a nice stay but not exceptional considering the logistic hassles to reach Okuhida. - I like the well-decorated tatami room and that the two rooms we got were next to each other. I thought breakfast and dinner were included according to Booking when I reserved but it turned out that the price I paid thru Booking with my credit card was only for the room. The location of this onsen (therme) was too far for just a one night stay. The hotel bath facilities were ok but not great. I would recommend that people find accommodations in Hirayu which is easier to access, and go to the public baths including the ones outside.

הגעתי עם ציפיות גבוהות, אך האכזבה הייתה גדולה פי כמה. המלון נראה פסטורלי ויפה, הנוף מהמם – אבל זהו, כי כל היתר היה מאכזב.
המרפסת לא הייתה ראויה לשימוש – היא פשוט מלוכלכת, ולא אפשרה לשבת או להינות מהנוף.
הריח בכל המלון היה לא נעים – ריח חזק של פירות ים מקולקלים. בחדר הריח השתנה לריח של פירות ים טריים, שגם זה לא היה נעים. בנוסף, הקנקן תה בחדר לא היה נקי, ושירותי החדר לא עברו בצורה יסודית – ראיתי נייר טואלט מבצבץ מתוך האסלה, מה שמעיד על חוסר תשומת לב לפרטים.
החוויה של לינה בחדר יפני הייתה רחוקה ממה שציפיתי. ישנתי עם בגדים, כי ראיתי חרק זוחל על הרצפה ליד המזרן. זה בהחלט לא היה מה שציפיתי מחדר מלון.
בנוגע לאונסנים (החדרים החמים) – הם היו במצב תחזוקה מאוד ירוד. ריצוף רפוי, שטיחים לא יציבים, אבנים שדוקרות בגב ועוד בעיות רבות שיכולות להיגמר רק אם אפרט אותן כאן.
לא אכלתי ארוחת ערב במלון בגלל הריח המעופש, והחלטתי להמתין לארוחת הבוקר. בבוקר היו הרבה פריטים, אך הם לא היו ארוחת בוקר קלאסית – סלט ירקות מתובל, ירקות בגריל עם ביצה קשה, לחם קלוי עם חמאה, ו... קפה שהיה פשוט מזעזע. הסלט והלחם היו בסדר, אבל זה לא היה מה שציפיתי לארוחת בוקר.
המלון ישן מאוד, והתחזוקה נמצאת במצב מאוד ירוד. המקלחת הייתה מאוד לא נוחה – ראש מקלחת שלא עבד כראוי, והמון בעיות במערכת המים, כך שהיה או חם מדי או קר מדי.
לסיכום, למרות שהמלון נמצא במקום יפה, התחזוקה וההיגיינה פשוט לא עומדות בסטנדרטים מינימליים. יש מקום לשיפור משמעותי, ואני באופן אישי לא אחזור לפה – גם לא בחינם.
