Guest Reviews
- Erica (10/5): Pumpkins, Pups, and Perfection - We were greated by 700+ Pumpkins 3 chipper pups and a welcoming and friendly owner and staff. I can not be more pleased with our stay. My husband and I stayed in the cottage and my in laws were in the main Inn. Both rooms/amenities were very cozy and inviting.
- Meredith (10/5): - We stayed in The Cottage, opposite the Inn. It was very comfortable, spatious, well equipped - especially the livng room. And it was quiet!
It is situated in a perfect location, close to the river, the Festival Theatre and the Hydro dam, with its excellent visitor centre. The town centre is across the beautiful River Tay, but quickly accessed via a footbridge.
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent in terms of quality and service.
- Jeff (10/5): - Beautiful setting on a stream. Everything you ever dreamed of. Friendly and excellent service. Excellent restaurant.

This was our first stay here and what a lovely discovery it was! The room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and served in gorgeous surroundings, which really made the morning special. The location is fantastic — set by the river and theatre, with plenty of beautiful walks right on the doorstep. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing break in a stunning setting.

- Lauren (10/5): - Such a gorgeous, peaceful setting. Location was perfect for us as we were visiting the Heartland Festival nearby, and ideally placed for the theatre which we intend to do on a future trip. Rooms were lovely and the bed very comfortable. Staff were amazing - can't wait to return :)

Couldn't do enough for us to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast good. Didn't have dinner, but food looked great. Unusual place, quirky might be how to describe it. But most definitely recommend Port Na Craig

We met the owner who has such a passion for her hotel . Rooms were fab and very clean , just recently upgraded to such a high standard and very reasonable rate.we will defo be back again.
- David (10/5): - What a great find for our short stay in Pitlochry. The hotel is in the perfect location on the riverside, but within easy walking distance of the town centre. It is a small property, a plus in our book, with very well appointed rooms and public spaces. The restaurant is excellent and I would strongly recommend eating there at least once on your visit. Complimentary breakfast was also served in this area and was varied and imaginative, a good start to any day! However the icing on the cake has to be the friendly and very helpful staff and owners. Thank you for providing us with a wonderful short stay.
- Phillip (10/5): Wonderful - We had a lovely room overlooking the river. Breakfast was a tasty feast to set you up for the day with friendly and helpful owners looking after us.
The first thing that struck us both on arrival (towards end of November) were the Christmas decorations which were amazing.
- Margaret (10/5): - Wonderfull relaxing break will definitely be back
- J Michael (10/5): - Great location for visiting Pitlochry and Central Scotland. Adjacent to the wonderful Pitlochry Theatre which provides world class musicals and plays.

- Carolyn (10/5): Wonderful Theatre break - A delightful inn set in a very beautiful village set just yards from the river and the festival theatre at Pitlochry.
Excellent food especially the breakfasts, and all served by the friendly family who run the inn.

We were given the room that we could have a dog with us in and it was so cosy with a relaxing view of the river! Great food, drinks and the beer garden was a bonus in the sunshine, highly recommend
- Melissa (10/5): - Angela is an Angel! Super sweet host and friendly. Stephanie was helpful too. Room size was amazing, bathroom size large, the TOWELS were massive and soft. The included breakfast had several AMAZING options- full scottish, salmon, porridge, etc. We felt like Royalty there! Would only stay here. Ps. The dogs were wonderful. Great food and bar

- Annette (10/5): - Angela was such a lovely laid back host and Romally was such fun at breakfast. Super friendly, the room was gorgeous so comfortable and beautifully decorated. Amazing bathroom. All in all fabulous - wet and windy weather for us unfortunately but this was a lovely little haven to chill out in. Love Pitlochry and this is the perfect place to stay.
- Jordan (10/5): - Angela and her daughter Romany make you feel so welcome. The property is in an idyllic location on the river, but that comes with its own challenges. Our room was clean, comfortable and warm… just what you need after a day exploring. Breakfast is delicious, especially the porridge. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay.

- David (10/5): Superb period Inn to stay in - We would recommend a stay here without hesitation ,the staff were superb and catered to all our needs ,we will be back next year for definite!
- Fiona (8/5): - Great place to stay- very stylish room and fantastic breakfast. Only slight issue for us were the three dogs roaming around and occasional barking. Otherwise, highly recommended.
- Megan (10/5): Lovely stay - Port na Craig has a great location beside the river, but just a short 5 min walk into the centre of Pitlochry. It has good parking available. My room was beautiful, a fireplace and big enough for a ing size bed and comfy couch. The en-suite was beautiful and a great shower. The rooms was spotless. Breakfasts were great - really liked the fruit toast and croissants. Had dinner one evening and it was lovely as well. The hosts were fantastic, very friendly and really helpful. I will definitely be staying again.
- Lorraine (10/5): - The location of this inn is splendid, the lovely river is right there & Pitlochry a short walk away across the footbridge, which is a bustling little town with plenty of places to eat. The house & rooms are pretty & great interior design and the owners make you feel at home. Good food both breakfast & evening meal.We stayed 3 nights but would have loved to stay longer.
- Janice (8/5): - Charming 17th century inn at Riverside comfortable rooms excellent breakfast
- Richard (10/5): WOW factor, fantastic breakfast, stunning rooms 5☆ - Book a room with breakfast and I’m sure you’ll be impressed. It has fabulous, clean, comfortable rooms and the presentation, content and quality of the breakfast is fantastic. Staff are so friendly, and the ambience of the restaurant/bar areas makes for a terrific short stay. We only stayed 2 nights and we could easily have enjoyed a week there for the breakfast alone. It's set on the riverside beside the theatre so it’s very popular and busy for evening meals/drinks. The evening menu is slightly limited for choice and a little on the expensive side, but the food quality is extremely high, the price for dinner is forgiven if you elect to stay as it’s a pure gem and great value for money. It’s not opulent, like 5-star hotels around the world, but for the quality, price, staff, location and décor, easily gets my 5-star rating.
- Stuart (10/5): Troonites - its a lovely spot run by lovely people. Nothing was too much trouble and if you are going to the theatre its so convenient.
Food was good, thought there could be more choice at dinner. Breakfast was fabulous
- John (10/5): - Nice place! Room met our needs, nice and quiet 2nd floor location. Breakfast was A , and nice little seating area along the river to have a glass of wine.
- Stephen (10/5): - Lovely location. Nice comfortable room. Staff and food were great.
- Loren (10/5): - We absolutely loved our short stay here. The hostess, her daughter and the bartender were all top-notch. They were warm, kind, accommodating and absolutely lovely.
- Howard (10/5): - Our host greeted us and seated us outside overlooking the river for dinner and we enjoyed the properties hospitality. We highly recommend the inn.
Howard
- Janeen (10/5): Just perfect in every way! - Superb service, food, drinks and room. Perfect for our one night stay. Beautiful location on the river and short walk over foot bridge into quaint town.
- Clare (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and a nicely decorated room. Would definitely go back to this tasteful and pleasant location.
- Wilma (10/5): - An excellent hotel with a touch of luxury. The position of hotel and views from Windows amazing.
Bedroom well furnished and an extra comfortable bed.
Will be back
- Julia (10/5): - Updated, clean, and spacious room and beautiful location that is actually a hamlet right on the river. Very friendly staff and owner and easily walkable to many restaurants and the distillery. A hot breakfast is included.
The property itself is in a very old building and sounds from other parts of travel easily, could be an issue if you are a light sleeper. That said, the surrounding area (outside) could not be more quiet and peaceful in the evening.
- Paul f (10/5): Lovely accommodation - The owners are very welcoming and friendly. We were given upgraded accommodation in the cottage which is a great place to stay. The inn and restaurant is in a fantastic location, the service by the staff is great and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend as a place to stay.
- Russell (10/5): - The Inn is in a lovely setting. It was fun watching the fisherman fish with the long Spey rods. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lovely stay.
- Richard (10/5): What a lovely place! - A wonderful place. Very welcoming, and lovely room. I ate in the restaurant and the food was fabulous. Also great breakfast. The location is also charming, next to the river and just on the edge of the town (very near to the theatre).
- Thomas (10/5): - It’s a quaint little Inn with an excellent dining room. The staff and the owner were wonderful and caring. Located right in the river made it an excellent experience.
- Manuel (10/5): - We were so lucky to find availability. This wonderful historic inn is amazing in so many ways. Set right on the river, in a 400 year old building, it has a renovated interior in a stylish contemporary style. As a bonus, the owners and hosts are delightful people.
- Gillian (10/5): Excellent stay - We had a fantastic overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and the room was beautiful with a river view. We had dinner and breakfast which were both excellent. I would highly recommend a visit.
