Guest Reviews
- Ashley (10/5): - Very clean accommodations and a very kind and friendly host in Lisa. Nice breakfasts prepared by Lisa in a cozy dining and living room area. We really appreciated the hot tub at the end of a day after a long hike. Great location on the ski hill. The beds themselves need to be updated as they are saggy in the middle and rather uncomfortable.
- MARY (10/5): Nostalgic - We love vintage and didn’t mind carrying our suitcase up one flight of stairs. The bed was ultra comfortable.
- Joanne (10/5): - Lisa was great!
- Dana (10/5): - Quaintly decorated. Lisa and Ken were very good hosts. Not a modern high tech property, but very homey and welcoming.
- Tedda (8/5): - Very small, but clean, quaint and cozy.
- Steven (10/5): - Lisa was amazing, super kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and given attention each day. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back next time we are in Vermont.
- Heather (10/5): - Lovely pleasant stay.

- Jennifer (10/5): Hidden gem - Great place to stay. Best hot tub and quiet hours are so nice. You can get a great night's sleep just a minute from Magic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient Lodging for Mountain Activities - Simple and convenient lodging for mountain activities, plus the hostess was very nice and the coffee was good!
- Bill (10/5): - A great room close to the slopes; warm and comfortable; breakfast that was included was simple but home cooked and amazing.
- W. Neal (10/5): Winter hot tub - Lisa has a 100% eco-friendly rating. There is a brand new outdoor hot tub heated to 104°F. Breakfast was delicious and there is a comfortable sitting room with a roaring fireplace.
- Marcia (10/5): - Very welcoming host.
- Marianne (10/5): - Wonderful hosts and Great beds
- Noreen (10/5): - Wonderful stay and the area was beautiful!
- allison (10/5): - Impeccable cleanliness in room. Quality linens and really comfortable. Really accommodating hosts.
- Constance (8/5): - When I first drove up I was disappointed--the view from the front is not very appealing, being on a resort access road. However, I was quickly won over by the cozy common room, my attractively quaint and clean room, the very comfortable bed, and the charming back garden and pond (complete with 2 goose families). The hosts were attentive but not intrusive and offered good advice about local attractions. The nearby town had a few decent restaurants and there were a number of interesting outdoor places to explore within a 30 min drive.
- Sandra (8/5): - Very nice place to stay near Magic Mountain. Homey, cozy and simple. Nice breakfast too!
- Rebecca (10/5): Loved our stay!!! - We had a phenomenal stay. The room was perfect, super cozy and super soft sheets. Breakfast was home cooked and always fresh coffee with breakfast. Lisa and Ken were super nice and made our stay feel like visiting family. Can’t wait to go back.
- Elias (10/5): - The Gentian Lodge is an absolute gem with the ambiance of a quaint lodge in the German mountains. The rooms were cute and comfortable and the breakfast service and staff are top-notch. Did I mention the beautiful and ornate Xmas display? Can't wait to visit next year!
- Yan (10/5): - Quiet and convenient, good coffee and breakfast!
- Derek (8/5): - Very nice hosts and a beautiful view! Breakfast was great every morning and there are many nature trails nearby to fill the day. Very much worth the trip
- Michael (8/5): - The stay was fun and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.
- Gary (8/5): - The owners/operators were great people. We felt they really cared for our comfort at the lodge. The pool was great. The room very nice.
- Diane (10/5): Recommend most enthusiastically! - Stunning location, gorgeous pool & grounds, all solar power, wonderfully accommodating hosts!
- Jessie (6/5): Not for families - The property was cute and breakfast was ok. They made it clear this is not a place for kids, which was off putting. We advised their were additional people (our 4 and 6yr old) so they could charge us, and the made a big deal of that and we’re basically rude (originally we went bringing them. A breakfast sandwich was offered to my husband but not a word to the me or my kids. Overall comfortable place but the owners were not nice (mostly the husband)
- Dale (10/5): Lodge with lush gardens and pool and pond - Lovely garden setting with views of Magic Mountain ski area. The swimming pool was refreshing on a warm summer day. The lodge has great character, and the owner’s craft items on display and for sale were fabulous.
- Wendy (8/5): - There is no ac, the pool was closed, the property was adorable and had the nicest flowers. The owners were very nice and you can get a warm breakfast. The beds are comfy.
- Ronald (8/5): - Lisa was very nice and helpful throughout our trip there. She fixed a very good breakfast.
- Morgan (10/5): - Such a quaint little lodge. Walkable to Magic Mountain ski lodge. Clean and as advertised. The couple that runs it was also very friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again!
- Joseph (10/5): - Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quaint and charming small room. Delicious breakfast waffles made in their kitchen. Quiet! Peaceful!
- Gary (10/5): Relaxing chalet - The owners were very nice people it looked like a carnival driving up with all wild flowers out front we went into the lobby to be greeted by two beautiful angora cats who also were pleasant and welcoming
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Owners were very accommodating and friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We liked all that the Blue Gentian has to offer, especially the outdoor heated pool/
- Monique (8/5): - Very pleasant and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice, thoughtful innkeepers! Great place to stay year around — a walk to soulful Magic Mountain for skiing; relaxing setting and pool for summer. And if you’re looking for holiday gifts, this is e place for Scherenschnitte!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Extremely quiet and peaceful and beautiful wildlife saw a family of geese and dear
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Walking distance to the mountain was perfect
The room was great. Very big
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I relly liked the decor in the room and the breakfast and gathering areas were very clean and somewhat unique. It was a very charming place.
- Lorry (10/5): - Close to the mountain, great breakfast and beautiful views!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners were awesome very much accommodating very clean delicious breakfast would recommend not the place to go if you’re the sit in hotel and watch tv person (tiny TV).
Jacuzzi was awesome thanks Ken!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super cozy and cute place to stay. The owners are super sweet and helpful. The location is great if you plan on hitting Magic Mountain and is only ~2.5 miles to Londonderry. Definitely plan on staying here again.
- Sammie (10/5): - The Blue Gentian is the best kind of old-school ski lodge -- funky, comfortable, and seconds from the mountain. Other perks: endless hot water, cute long-haired kitties, and super-kind owners who will go out of their way to help you if things (your car, for instance) go cattywumpus!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved this property. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The lodge was perfect. We had a really nice breakfast and loved hanging out there. We will be back next time we visit the area. The pool and backyard really look beautiful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfort at Magic Mountain - Warm, cozy and friendly place to use as a base camp for exploring the Magic Mountain and Londonderry/ Weston area. Very well managed. 100% sustainable and nearly 100% solar-powered. Wi-Fi and cable too! Would return stay here again without hesitation.
- Gwenivere (10/5): Lovely place - Wonderful cute and quirky place. Loved the home feeling and the welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely plan on staying there in the future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - They needed new bedding. And an upgraded tv
- Howard (10/5): Great ski country stayover - This is a great place. The pictures of the pond in the rear don't do it justice. The owners are very nice and helpful. My 5 stars are in the context that this is an older, ski-oriented facility but it is very well maintained and comfortable. But don't plan on watching mu TV, heh.
- Carol (10/5): Home-like atmosphere - Very clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Basic country comfort in a gray setting -highly recommend .pool was awesome 2 restaurants in walking distance and killer breakfast. Vermont country lodging a t its best.
- Jane (10/5): Excellent - The bedding was very attractive and the bed comfortable. The check in was easy and check out as well. Simple breakfast yet was all we needed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful setting. Owners are very friendly. Very peaceful. Great place to getaway to.
- David (10/5): Wish we could Yodel. - The lodge was like a swiss chalet in the middle of Vermont. The room was delightful. The bed was comfortable. There was no air conditioning and the t.v. did not seem to work, but the surroundings were great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful view, lovely garden. The owners are lovely and accommodating. My only “complaint” is that the travelocity site lists “climate control” as one of the amenities... there is not air conditioning, only baseboard heat which would be fine in winter, but not the best in the summer time. All in all I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The place was very clean and inn keeper was very pleasant. We would go back again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reasonably clean and quiet...a bit too quiet in fact. The melting snow made the only noise through the night, so I slept fitfully. FYI the bed was in a bad Feng Shui position, with the feet facing the door.
