- MARIANA (10/5): Everything was wonderful. - I liked the friendly workers, I arrived late in the evening, they greeted me with a smile, jokes and pleasant emotions, this sets the mood for the entire vacation. Constant cleanliness, the pool and the area around it was clean, there is a place to park a car for free, a huge comfortable room, clean linen, all the accessories are in the room, a huge refrigerator, stove, dishes and everything else. I had to leave.

- LUCKY (10/5): - Just Awesome.. the staff and the location.
- Angie (7/5): Great hotel, horrible beds. - I liked that the hotel is dog friendly and they give you a paper with all places dog friendly in ocean city also have a little dog area. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was awesome and very helpful. The beds are horrible, we only stayed for 2 nights so we tolerated them. The beds were lumpy and sunken in.. very uncomfortable. Everything else was wonderful.

- Haines (10/5): I would highly recommend The Barefoot Mailman. - This was our first stay at The Barefoot Mailman and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to expect at a pet friendly hotel. The check-in process with Darlene was flawless. I was in and out in no time even though she was alone at the desk and others were in front of me. She has a great smile and a wonderful personality. The rest of the staff were very nice and friendly as well namely Bradley(front desk nights) and Mustufa (the housekeeper for our floor) The grounds were kept very well and the rooms were very clean. We have already rebooked a stay for next year. The only thing that I would like to see would be grills onsite as we had a kitchen and would have enjoyed grilling but we made do with what we had.
- Christina (8/5): Summer stay - Good price good location, dog friendly The place could have been a little cleaner but they did supply clean towels every day and the bedding was fine
- Danielle (8/5): Great stay! Perfect location! Loved it being pet friendly! - The location was great! Loved that the hotel was dog friendly. They do charge an additional $15 per dog per night at the hotel itself. Only down side was the person at the front desk told us that the sister hotel- castle in the sand- their amenities were also welcome for us to blue but that was not the case. Kind of disappointing but it was still a nice stay. Castle in the sand does have. Great breakfast buffet! Just that they could have been clearer about the sister holes ammenities and what was available to us. Also their office is closed overnight. So if you need something you can’t go to the office.
- Martha (8/5): - Decent location, very close to the Ocean, Beach! Staff is always friendly helpful and they keep the grounds super clean etc. If you have a dog this is a great hotel to stay in.
- Oscar (8/5): - Our stay at this hotel was one of the best experiences we’ve had with our dogs. It truly stands out as a dog-friendly spot. The daily fee for our pups was lower than at any other location we've visited, making it a budget-friendly choice for pet owners.
The location of the hotel was ideal. Just a short walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach and close to Barn 34, which served delicious breakfast and brunch options. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, contributing to a warm atmosphere throughout our stay. The hotel was super clean, though we did notice that the decor was a bit outdated and could benefit from some updating.
One of the great perks was the late-night pizza place conveniently located across the street, perfect for satisfying cravings after a day of adventures. Additionally, the area felt safe, giving us peace of mind while enjoying our time.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel. Highly recommend it to anyone traveling with dogs!

- Suzpe (7/5): Nice dog friendly motel a block from the beach. - Dog friendly property that had a nice area to walk the dog that was kept clean. The location is good, one block to the beach. The staff really makes the difference here. The front desk clerk provided a list of local dog friendly restaurants that we referred to frequently. There was someone cleaning and caring for the parking area and other public spaces most of the time we were there.
AC in the room worked well but it was not extremely hot when we were there. The room was clean enough but not very clean. We did not feel comfortable walking on the floors, baseboards were dirty and the headboard was full of marks and smudges. The bedding and towels were clean. There was dish soap provided at the kitchen area but no sponges so I tried with a wash cloth. I wondered how clean the dishes could be.
The coffee maker had burnt coffee on the bottom and the lights did not work. I did report that to the front desk so that they can replace it because it is dangerous. It does not turn off by itself and without the light we forgot it was on.
- Patrick (10/5): - Clean
- Alex (9/5): -
- Stallings (5/5): Wasn't worth the price they made you pay but it was manageable. - I like being able to walk to a lot of good locations like being close to the beach, the OC Convention Center, and Anthonys. The pet area was nice as well. It also seems like the only thing the staff loved keeping clean is the pool and the receptionist area. They also provided treats for your pets and tons of coupons. There was still trash left under beds and dressers like wrappers and cat toys. Some of the appliances they gave us were still a little dusty. Bed was broken, you could tell it was sunken in the middle. The Tv guide wasn't good they rewrote over the numbers, and they were still wrong.
- Jensen (9/5): We will definitely return to The Barefoot Mailman. Nice place. - Quiet, clean & roomy. Nice pool. No evidence that pets stay here (no bad odors or animal hair in the room- no human hair either!) Short walk to the beach & some attractions. Had a water leak from room above ours, but resolved quickly. Beach House Restaurant (at your sister property) was just ok.
- Mila (8/5): -
- Brianna (10/5): -
- Alejandro (10/5): - Clean areas, staff on site, the community is very respectful
- Daniel (8/5): Great Pet-Friendly Stay at The Barefoot Mailman - We had a wonderful family getaway at The Barefoot Mailman last weekend. The staff, especially Kay, were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel truly welcomed. They even gave our Samoyed plenty of attention at every opportunity.
The room was well-priced, with comfortable beds and a generous selection of pillows for a great night’s sleep. The location is perfect—just a block from the beach with a sidewalk leading straight to the sand, no roads to cross! Situated in midtown, the hotel is surrounded by plenty of dining options, and the boardwalk is just a short drive south.
As a pet-friendly motel, it offers designated pet areas, though they’re a bit small, and you may need to wait for other pets to clear out—a minor drawback for one of the few pet-friendly spots in Ocean City. The pool was open and never felt overcrowded, adding to the relaxing vibe. The room included dishes and a broom for pet owners, which was thoughtful, but adding a sponge and a roll of paper towels would make it even more convenient.
Free parking is included in your stay and if you don't get a spot underneath the motel, there is overflow parking directly in front. Very convenient.
We fell in love with Ocean City and The Barefoot Mailman’s warm hospitality. We’ll definitely book here again for our next trip!
- Kathy (10/5): - Location was great. Easy ocean access. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to people looking for a nice place to stay at a reasonable rate.

- LoveToGo49 (8/5): Great Location - I booked a last minute trip to take my grandson to the beach. We stayed at Barefoot Mailman and were pleased with our stay. If you are looking for a basic hotel without amenities or a restaurant, this hotel is perfect. The price was very good, the rooms clean, friendly staff, it had a nice pool, centrally located, very short walk to the beach and pets are allowed for a minimal fee.
- Krista (8/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Love this place !! - very clean and the people that work there are excellent. They are so so nice !! Looking forward to next year when I come back!
- Jessica (10/5): BEST STAFF EVER & CLEAN! :) - First of all I was astonished that they were able to accommodate us with parking earlier than check in time at 3pm but then they also allowed us early check in as they already had rooms cleaned & ready to go. I was then pleasantly surprised at how clean the entire place was!!! Usually I stay in more expensive places further up Ocean City but was a last min trip so not many options at time. But I was very pleasantly surprised at the amount of staff busy keeping after EVERYTHING and the cleanliness as well as the wonderful addition of early check in. Lady at the desk was super sweet & helpful. Probably the best check in experience I've ever had in OC. Huge huge props to all the staff there!!! Any time I had a question, whomever I asked was very kind & helpful. All of them also greeted us every pass! I found that refreshing in comparison to other places that staff seems miserable most times. In comparison to other hotels of same caliber I felt price was pretty high but cleanliness & great accommodation took some of the sting out of high cost. I did wait until 3 weeks before trip to plan & did it on a sight so there's that. Also the mattress wasn't the best...sunken in in center pretty badly. Was soft but broken down to much. My daughter said hers was good. Everything else was great.
- Linda (10/5): Because our experiences there are always great, we have been returning there for years - Everything - only a block from the beach with no streets to cross. Exceptional area for pets to walk. Pool was pristine. Room was large and beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and ready to assist They could have used more luggage carts since most guests have cages or crates. Finding a cart delayed our checkout but staff was understanding of the situation.

- Dillon (10/5): - Exactly what a family of 5 with a dog needed. Will be back!
- Houda (9/5): - The room was clean and big. The staff are helpful
- Morris (10/5): Love going to the pool after the beach. - Great location Liked everything
- Scott (9/5): Had fun wished we could have slept better. Location is perfect and close to everything. - It was great location and easily accessible. Bed was uncomfortable in a bad way. And noisy in the morning.

- Donna (10/5): - Love the soft cozy beds ..Clean rooms , good size bathrooms..Great, Great parking .....Awesome location to beach 4 mins to beach entrance....Great food all around , easy walk to get your meals after your off the beach...Nice accommodating Staff....Will return....Beautiful Place and very Family Friendly....Thank you...for helping my family enjoy our stay....Take Care. ZERO
- Allan (8/5): Dated accommodations, but clean and convenient - The room was a bit dated (old), more importantly it appeared clean, including the bathroom, and more spacious than expected. Being a pet-friendly hotel, the bare floors are smart; the room was equipped with a broom and dustpan to clean any messes, including sand from the beach, up quickly. The areas for pets to do their thing are also nice and large, to mingle with other guest’s pets. Access to the beach is super close and convenient; however, the City doesn’t allow dogs on the beach from May 1 to September 30; it would be nice if this information was included on the booking website.
- Downey (9/5): - Very nice room and view for the price .It was pet friendly and clean and comfortable.
- joan (10/5): - Close to everything within walking distance
- Halleran (9/5): -
- Charles (10/5): -
- Beth (10/5): - The property was conveniently located one block from beach and allowed pets
- Pauline (10/5): - Pet-friendly, Very nice employees, happy patrons, elevator, great view, nice shower & beds, restaurants nearby!
- Gina (8/5): - Convenience Sink stopped up and broken coffee pot
- Mark (7/5): We stayed 1 night as planned before checking into our weekly condo rental. We were more than happy. - The front desk staff was very kind and would answer questions without making you feel they are being inconvenienced. it is a absolute plus that they will allow pets to stay. I really can't think of anything offhand. It was a nice place, clean, and conveniently located. Possibly a little outdated but nothing to say it wasn't as described in the rental listing. There is a reason why they have star ratings. If you want a luxury hotel with mass amenities, then pay the price and pick one.
- Paolo (10/5): Super fantastic. Will be coming back again - I did not expect the room to be so spacious. It was so close to the beach. The pool was nice and warm. Staff were great and friendly. It did NOT smell of dog pee. My dogs had a proper place to walk, pee and poop. The guy was super friendly. Distance to the beach was great. Dogs had a proper place to walk.
- Beatrice (9/5): beautiful place-very welcoming and clean. Great location to the beach! Loved it. - The staff was fantastic - very accommodating with all requests. The beds were VERY comfortable. The room was exceptionally clean. Not enough light in the kitchen area... the overhead light from the microwave was not functioning properly.

- Rachel (10/5): - I loved finding out that the entire facility is pet friendly meaning I didn’t have to make any special calls or advanced reservations to get a pet friendly room like at other places! The pet fee is reasonable compared to some other places and prices that I was finding in my searches. Everything about our stay here was awesome. This was the first year I’ve ever taken the dogs on vacation and thanks to the Barefoot Mailman we will be coming back every year now! I love the fact that the dogs could be left alone, but weren’t required to be in a crate because that causes some serious anxiety for them. I felt comfortable enough, leaving the dogs out of their crates because the room was safe and there was nothing that they were going to get into. They loved having the green space for potty breaks and also having the alleyway to walk up and down to stretch our legs which kept us away from the main road. The staff was friendly and occasionally asked if it was okay to pet or acknowledge the dogs- which the dogs of course loved! They also learned very quickly that the office had Milk-bones LOL! I like the fact that the rooms were clean and also did not smell. The rooms are also spacious so they can accommodate both human belongings and dog belongings. The kitchenette was an added bonus. It came stocked with utensils and dishes. The beach is a short walk away, as well as plenty of restaurants, and shops. The front office also has a cool list of pet friendly restaurants around.
- Gopalan (10/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): - This was a nice clean hotel and very convenient to the beach
- William (7/5): - Location Room was old.
- Jennifer (5/5): This hotel had a great staff and location, the hotel could use stimulates and cleaning. - The staff was very kind. They were personable, happy, and helpful! It was a great location, the parking was easy to access and secure. The beds were comfortable, and it was nice that there was a king and a full. The bathtub was also very clean, it seemed like it may have been new. It didn’t seem clean. When you walked in it smelled like wet dog mixed with bleach ( I understand this was a pet hotel). We cured that with some Lysol and febreeze. The first night, there was a rowdy bunch yelling from floor to floor, kids playing football on the balconies past 11pm. After that, it was very quiet. You could not walk on the floor without shoes and it was covered in sand ( no matter how may times you swept it with the provided broom) and your feet would be black from dirt. There was also no deadbolt or door stopper on the door. After inquiring about this, I was told that it was built into the door. The first night we did not feel safe with all the yelling and a man walking to our room, then turning around ( we were on the end), but after that it was fine.
- Shane (10/5): - Quick check in, clean rooms, nice view of the bay, 5 minute walk to a family friendly beach
- Isabella (10/5): -
- Melissa (9/5): We had a great time! -
- stacey (10/5): - I have been staying here the past 20 years. Very clean, staff is friendly, only half block from beach. If you are looking for a hotel to stay with your pet; Barefoot Mailman is the place to stay.
