It was the true Japanese experience. The onsen was open to the sky and there were three pools and a sauna The room was spacious and comfortable. We didn’t know that there was a pick up service and we walked up the hill with our luggage.

• Ronni (5/5): Our stay at Aura Tachibana was pleasant, but not worth the price - We stayed at Aura Tachibana for two nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The highlight was the private onsen in our room that we specifically reserved and it made our stay feel much more relaxing and special. The room itself was also very spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated throughout our visit. There were a few drawbacks that affected our overall impression. The building and rooms felt quite outdated and could use some renovation. The massage service was also a bit odd - it’s outsourced to a third party, done directly on the bed, and wasn’t particularly high quality. We also booked a package with breakfast and dinner, but the food wasn’t our favorite and leaned heavily toward seafood. Overall, while it wasn’t a bad stay, for the price we paid, we felt there are more modern and better-quality options available in the area.

They both share one onsen. One of the towers is obviously older with standard rooms. The halls and rooms smell musty despite the air cleaners throughout. The room was spacious although the shower stall was dated. The dining areas are updated and very nice. The onsen was also very enjoyable and there is a private rooftop onsen for a small fee which requires a reservation. Musty smell in the older tower hallways and rooms.

Only small point is it is a little further to walk from town than some other options ( but they do offer a courtesy bus).

• Ana (10/5): Sitio espectacular - Para empezar, segun entras la atencion que tienes es espectacular, te explican como funciona todo en unos sillones, horarios, que tiene casa planta, donde esta el onsen público, suttle gratis y si quieres te van a recoger a la estacion de hakone tambien gratis. Despues Te acompañan a la habitación y te explican cada cosa allí. Hay un yukata para ponerse al ir a cenar. En mi caso cogí onsen privado en la habitación porque tenemos tatuajes grandes que no se pueden tapar pero hay opción de coger el onsen de la terraza por 45min por un precio. La habitación era grande, nada que ver con los hoteles anteriores que estuve. Ademas cogí la cena tipica y Desayuno (que tambien es estilo japones). Es decir cogí media pensión. El precio de una noche no era barato precisamente pero compensó con creces toda la experiencia vivida allí. Hay que hacerlo al menos una vez si vas a Japón. En general nada. El Desayuno al estar acostumbrados al continental, se nos hizo fuerte ese estudio, pero lo dicho, una experiencia vivida

We recommend booking the private bath, if your room does not come with a bath. The beds are a bit hard. Perhaps sleeping on a futon would have been more comfortable :)

Private onsens on the roof were amazing with a great outlook. And the food was exceptional - both dinner and breakfast. Such an array of flavours and styles. Nothing really. It is a ways up a fairly steep hill from the village centre, but the hotel will send a shuttle down for you if you ring.

We loved having our own soaking pool with a mountain view! There was stains on the lamp and what appeared to be mold between the shower tiles. • Marc (8/5): Un ryokan qui tient la route ! - Ryokan à Hakone, bains agréables et peu fréquentés, repas (kaiseki) très bons même si le petit dej est un défi pour les Occidentaux - l’expérience vaut le détour. Personnel à l’écoute et disponible. Dormir sur des tatamis/futons toujours sympa à l’occasion. Un peu vieillot comme souvent dans les ryokan, odeur de renfermé un peu bizarre et difficilement descriptible dans la chambre. A savoir: il faut compter 1h de trajet depuis l’hôtel pour aller au lac Ashi.

• 李 (9/5): - 旅館的員工相當友善，很耐心的跟我們解釋旅館內的設施及各項服務，是很傳統的日式溫泉旅館，很有賓至如歸的感覺。 房間的部分，因為是老牌的日式溫泉旅館，內部設施不是那麼現代化，不過該有的東西一樣不少，以商務行程來看沒那麼合適，但想渡過一個悠閒自在的假期絕對很合適。 溫泉的部分這次體驗了大眾池，是中規中矩的溫泉，旅館另外有提供私人湯屋。 餐點的部分，早晚餐都相當精緻，不過醃菜的部分稍微有點不習慣，整體的體驗還是相當好。

A western breakfast was also given as an option. Advice to travelers, book a few extra days Incase of poor weather as we were unable to use the ropeway and pirate ship on Lake Ashi due to poor weather. We were not aware of the hotel shuttle so on arrival it was a very steep walk up to the hotel.

• Suzanne (8/5): We enjoyed our countryside Ryokan experience - We very much enjoyed our stay in this traditional Ryokan. The tasting dinner was amazing. We didn’t like everything but appreciated tasting so many different things. The hotel rooms are very clean but are a bit dated. We felt this add to the charm of the area. The onsen was lovely with an outdoor garden area as well. Rooms are slightly dated
• Joelle (10/5): Endroit magnifique et paisible - Tout soit l’emplacement, la vue, l’accueil et les prestations proposées dont le dîner et n’hésitez pas non plus à payer un massage en plus car prix attractif et effet très positif. Petit déjeuner à base de poissons donc réfléchissez bien avant de le sélectionner et avons perdu 40 mn à l’accueil au moment de partir car booking ne leur avait pas confirmé que la réservation était réglée depuis deux mois au moment de la sélection et résultat taxi raté et train également avec pénalités de 20% sur les billets. Booking n’était pas joignable pendant plus de 20 mn par l’hôtel.
• Floor (7/5): Mooi verblijf gehad, maar verouderd hotel - Hotel is goed gelegen in Hakone. Personeel is vriendelijk en een warm ontvangst. Kamers zijn groot en veel ruimte. Onsen bij de kamer was ook heerlijk en lekker kunnen genieten van het uitzicht. Leuk met diner erbij. Het hotel is wel verouderd en kan wel een renovatiebeurt gebruiken. Handoeken in de badkamer stonken echt en mogen ook vervangen worden voor nieuwe. Het inbegrepen Diner was leuk om mee te maken, alleen het tempo dat ze aankwamen met eten was echt te snel. Dit kan beter in mindere maten met het brengen om de ervaring leuker te maken.
• Tatsuo (7/5): まあまあ - 食事が充実、特に朝食はめちゃ良かった。 外国の方が多く、マナーが悪い。お風呂の水風呂が小さく、水が循環してるのかも不明。

• Veronica (10/5): Camera con vasca privata all'esterno super rilassante - L'Hotel ha una buona posizione, è molto vicino al centro, raggiungibile anche a piedi dalla stazione. Lo staff è gentilissimo. Il servizio per cena e colazione è stato impeccabile, veniva tutto spiegato e le cameriere parlavano inglese. La camera era molto bella, con vasca privata sulla terrazza e un salotto con tatami. In camera erano presenti le cialde per tè e caffè gratis. In bagno c'era tutto l'occorrente ed era pulito. In camera ci hanno lasciato anche gli yukata, molto comodi per andare poi a cena. I materassi, troppo duri per me che sono occidentale.

• Cagulada (10/5): - The personal onsen was spacious enough for me and my wife. The yukata designs were beautiful. The food was delicious. The view was amazing. The hospitality was unbelievable. Everything was great! Only thing we didnt like was something Aura Tachibana couldn't control, the weather. We booked the private rooftop onsen but it was way too windy to enjoy. Luckily they had no issues or give us any issues for wanting to cancel our reservation. Otherwise, the stay was great and relaxing!

• Jason (7/5): Restful - Stunning views. Clean and comfortable room. Access to private onsen. Lovely helpful staff. The food looked amazing and obviously lots of time and preparation, however our western palates were not ready and we could have done with a choice for the evening meal. Our breakfast was changed but we had to cancel two evening meals which was a shame. This is no reflection on the excellent service and I’m sure the food was excellent.

• David (10/5): - This is my second time staying here and it did not disappoint. A truly relaxing, traditional Japanese experience. Some of the breakfast food was quite heavy but still delicious.

• Nathalie (10/5): Agréable séjour - L’établissement est à 15 minutes à pied de la station Hakone Yumoto (quelques rues en pente) un service de transfert est disponible de 8h30 a 11h puis de 14h a 17h45. L’accueil est agréable, le personnel est serviable et avenant. La chambre était propre et spacieuse. Le dîner et le petit déjeuner étaient inclus et sont des repas de style japonais copieux. Les produits de cosmétiques sont disponibles dans la salle de bain (gel douche, shampooing, conditionner mais aussi huile démaquillante, gel et lotion pour le visage et lait).
• Ilan (8/5): Fun - The staff are very helpful and communicative and were able to help us with a complicated matter and we are extremely grateful for it. The room's onsen was great, overall clean. The toilet and shower had a funky smell. The shower near the onsen is transparent with no blinds so we didn't feel comfortable when showering as hypothetically strangers might see you.
