- 815darrellw (10/5): Staff makes a good room a great place to stay. - It was a really good location. The workers were outstanding. We were working through a sudden death in the family and the staff was incredible. The room was pretty standard for a Fairfield. Clean and quiet- but the staff was terrific.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Lise (9/5): -
- Shannon (9/5): - Breakfast was grab and go. Would be nice to have a waffle machine
- Natalie (3/5): Overpriced, underwhelmed - Location was the only thing I liked about my stay This place is falling apart at the seams…
They had a pipe burst flooding the building and so there were a ton of industrial fans running constantly.
They’re key pads for room keys weren’t working and so the front desk agent had to let us in and out of the room each time.
These were a known issue and wasn’t disclosed at booking until we arrived to check-in.
The food was SAD truly. They had that pre made bacon (FAKEON LOL), Premade breakfast sandwiches in plastic served COLD no microwave in the breakfast area so I had to go up to the room to warm them.
The bed was decent but for a hotel in PLATTSBURGH in January you’d think there would be a nicer comforter on the bed it’s freezing! The pillows could be upgraded. The whole experience just felt cheap for not a cheap bill!!
- vacca (10/5): -
- Heather (5/5): It was okay - The key lock system was not working so staff had to let us in the room each time. The breakfast was subpar. Best western in Plattsburgh has better. The room was partially cleaned. The floor clearly wasn't cleaned as it had papers on it and things stuck to the carpet.
- bobbrown1948 (2/5): A CHRISTMAS DISASTER - The first problem arrived when we got there Christmas Eve for 2 days and I had 2 rooms booked, on arrival we were told the the card reader for the rooms doesn't work and someone from the front desk will let us in our rooms, they never let us know before our arrival so we could check for another hotel and at 5pm Christmas Eve after travelling and having a party to go too, we weren't interested in trying to find another place. Everytime we left our room on the 4th floor we had to go down to find someone from the front desk to open the door or one person had to stay in the room to open the door. It was still not fixed when we left. We were told for the inconvience we would recieve a credit which never happened when we left because the Receptionist said she didn't know how to give the credit that they would email us a new invoice with a credit , no email yet. Also the bed was not very comfortable the pillows for the King size bed were so small and soft I had to put one on top of the other if not it was like no pillow was there , time for a pillow upgrade, the room was clean but the shower stall had a lot of black scum around the base, I beleive it's Black Mold. I would expect this BS from a cheap 1-2 star hotel but not from a Marriot Fairfield.
- Arturo (8/5): -
- Anez (5/5): My daughter and I appreciated the clean room and warm bed, and cold fridge. thank you Amanda. - the bed was comfortable and the pillows were fine. i booked for the pool and it was out of order, when booking that was not specified, had i known i would have booked at a sister location with the amenities i wanted for the stay over.
- Bennett (6/5): -
- Shameka Carey (1/5): - Nothing at all! The Indian girl at the front desk charged me for a day I wasn't even there and then tells me she couldn't cancel it! Lies I've been coming there for thr last year.
- Shadow1954 (10/5): Clean, Pleasant staff, Pool terrible, Breakfast so-so. This is the second time I've stayed here. - Easy to get to and easy to park. The receptionist was very pleasant this time as she was when I stayed a few weeks ago.
The hotel was very clean and Amanda H had the room clean and ready with no complaints from me.
I'm not nuts over hard boiled eggs. I'd rather scrambled but they can't please everyone and I'm just happy I didn't have to drive somewhere to get something at an extra expense.
- Shameka Carey (2/5): -
- Margaret (8/5): - Only one problem. The 24 hr coffee was not kept up and hot. Had to ask for new coffee.
- Lamber (6/5): -
- f michael (8/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): Great first and second stay - We had a great time. Room was spotless and staff were nice. This is our second family trip here for several nights. We will likely be back a third time in the future.
- Mark (10/5): - Plattsburg was central to all the areas i traveled to for hiking and waterfalls. One really unexpected waterfall, Highfalls, it was a great little hike no really far but the falls were accessible.
- Maryna (9/5): It was a good stay - Clean and had everything we needed for vacation stay
- Keith (10/5): - Easy to reach location near several restaurants
- kerry (10/5): - That stuff was very friendly room was very clean. Good location.
- Karen (6/5): The place was clean the front desk staff was not very congenial - The fact that you have to request to have your room clean as opposed to have the room clean The breakfast selection
- stephanie (8/5): -
- Scott (10/5): - Great location
- Curiosity624533 (2/5): Very bad - What a horrible trip. The pool was closed and no one told us when we made the reservation for August 9, 2025. The receptionist was rude. The breakfast on Sunday Aug 10,2025 was horrible. Hardly anything runny eggs only sausage and cereal
This room was $225.00 and not worth it. Never again will I stay there
- Changjian (4/5): - Breakfast not available
Elevator is not working
Tv in room not working
- Amber (10/5): - Breakfast was good rooms were clean but lobby was disgustingly hot from pool
- pamcL9960CT (2/5): Worst Marrriot Hotel - Very disappointing... We have been traveling around the USA for a couple of years and we primarily stay at Marriott hotels ... this is the worst ... elevator, lobby A/C, juice machine ALL OUT OF ORDER. Wall thermostat smashed and couldn't accurately use. To name just a few complaints and observations.
- Crocina (2/5): - Nobody advised me
That the ac wasn’t in function
- Christine (10/5): -
- K (9/5): The location was great, and easy access to the highway. - The air conditioning in the lobby area was broken. There was equipment in the breakfast area. There was water on the floor. There was caution tape and cones to block the area. I moved a chair to help better block the area. The area conditioning in the room was working. The mini quiche was awful tasting, was a taste tested done before those were made as a offering for the breakfast service.
- Timothy (10/5): - General business area, nothing special good or bad
- JEANNE (8/5): It was fine - Not hreat
- Lisa (2/5): - Not well kept-large, jagged hole in bathroom sink, boxes piled up in lobby, pool was closed, trash left sitting on furniture in lobby
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was clean, walking in and the air conditioning system didn’t seem to work in the lobby and eating area, it was a little uncomfortable to enjoy breakfast. Good thing the air was working in the bedroom.
Besides that a great stay.
- MARIA (10/5): - Good needed more coffee in room
And should give a free bottle of water
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful clean rooms Walls need to be thicker or offer white noise machines to block out neighbors noises
- Martin (6/5): - Excellent room but FORGET about the breakfast… out of everything , disgustingly dirty (food area, tables, counters)
So you have to figure to go eat breakfast elsewhere!
- Sheila (4/5): - The pool was green they only had 1 operational elevator we had to switch rooms because the television didn't have all channels didn't work my wife's sister came by to visit and because she had a service dog they told her to leave.
- Denise (6/5): - The air conditioning was not functioning in the lobby, which was very uncomfortable and having breakfast at the breakfast. They lacked bowls for cereal. Also, when getting ready to shower, there’s three of us in the room and there were only two washcloths we ask for more washcloths and they didn’t have any available until later in the day. Considering this is a Marriott facility the experience was way under our expectations of a typical facility
- John (4/5): Last stay there - Half of window curtains missing & took multiple calls and talks with front desk to get fixed. Shower floor was cracked with a lot of calk fixes - in a handicapped room. Breakfast not very good.
- P1428YXtarad (2/5): Stay Away - Hands down this was the worst Marriot hotel we’ve ever stayed at, and we’ve travelled globally. We couldn’t figure out if the hotel was just opening and trying to work out all the glitches, or about to close and the staff all just gave up. We’re Bonvoy members and specifically chose this hotel due to location and the pool for my kids. At check-in, we were told the pool was closed. When I told the front desk that we were disappointed, she responded “there’s nothing I can do”. I asked to talk to the manager and she said “they were gone for the day but would be back the next morning”. We headed down to breakfast the next day at 7:00 am and a number of the food items were gone. We couldn’t even eat cereal because the staff member said they “didn’t have any bowls”. The next morning we went to breakfast and again were told they had no bowls. So apparently it wasn’t a cleanliness issue, just a complete lack of effort. How hard is it for a staff member to drive to the nearest Walmart and buy a bunch of bowls? And of course the pool was still closed, and based on the reviews, had been closed at least a week! What’s even scarier, is if you read earlier reviews, there’s been of flurry of negative posts from guests going as far back as 2022!
- Kara (6/5): - The pool was broken and the ac did not work in the lobby area
- Deirdre (4/5): - When we checked in there was no carts for luggage, the concierge did look for one but couldn’t find any. When we got to the roo it was freezing the temperature was set to 61 F we had to turn on the heat to get the room to a reasonable temperature. The floor in the shower was cracked and rocked when stepped on. I would not recommend this hotel.
- Richard (4/5): - Room was fine, except for the mattress, which was showing its age by sagging toward the middle. The lobby was warm to the point of being HOT. It was a comfort to go outside. The pool was disgusting and cloudy, not swimmable. The gym was closed for no apparent reason. The mini pharmacy was not stocked. There were things kind of piled up to the left of the entrance. Staff was pretty nice, although we did get some weird attitude on check-in. Seems like the people running the place were cutting corners to save money at the expense of making the common areas pleasant and attractive. Definitely feels like the place is going downhill every time we stay, once or twice a year.
- Rachel (10/5): - Loved the clean and comfortable pool / hot tub. Nice setting and having tables and chairs enabled us to also have a nice place to play cards in between times in the hot tub and pool. Complimentary breakfast had a nice variety and well presented. Thanks.
- Nancy (10/5): - I absolutely loved the window shade. Very unique!
- Gary (8/5): ok - breakfast was not good no healthy options breakfast
- Hamp and Karen (10/5): - Staff outstanding.Room had all amenities that we needed. Bed comfortable. Shower great. Breakfast had several options.
- Tracey (10/5): - It was more amazing and clean than expected.
- Lissett (8/5): Very good -
- Tommy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Corby (10/5): Great stop while travelling through the area - Great spacious area for breakfast. Everything was fresh, hot and clean.
- Brett (10/5): - Excellent stay as always. Can never go wrong with Fairfield Inn & Suites.
- erinmE6426TK (2/5): Rude front desk - Walked in hotel to book a room front desk lady stated they only had queen beds left I told her that the site said they had king left and she stated she could not give me that because someone was coming for that room but it wasn't booked. She refused to give me a room she was saving
- Joe-Lynn (6/5): - Room was clean enough; breakfast was low quality but ok. Front desk staff could've have been friendlier and more accommodating; I asked to check out 1/2 hour later and was denied without any explanation.
- Lise (9/5): Would definitely return - Very comfortable bed Pillows need updating. Not king size and very small and flat
- Gary (4/5): - I had several issues. Lobby was disorganized and messy. Staff told me that the car charger was complimentary (it is not) and also only one car can charge at a time or it shorts out. Warmish not hot shower. They don't clean your room, make your bed or empty your garbage. Breakfast was shrink-wrapped and/or steamed not fresh on my days that I noticed. Pot smell in hallway. Stained chair that was very disgusting. Front desk staff not professionally dressed (character sweatshirt). Not the Marriott quality I pay for and am used to. They seem to have workers/contractors that stay here for extended times (they set up their own picnic table outside). I would not stay here again.
- Amanda (10/5): Nice family hotel. Very clean and new - Beautiful hotel! Super clean and new. Friendly staff.
The pool was green but apparently the health department checked and it has to do with the “paint” color. The hot tub was wonderful.
Breakfast needs to be refilled more frequently. For the short duration of 6-9 for breakfast there should be full trays at 8:15 and they were bare. Guests had to ask for refills. Even at 8:45 there should be enough for guests with young children to access the warm meals with staff nearby to help refill. (2 days in a row there were empty trays well before 9:00am)
Overall; the room was comfortable, clean and the lobby welcoming. We would come back. The front desk employees were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a nice visit!!
- Steph (4/5): Disappointing - Booked this place overnight and was highly disappointed when we came down to the pool area to find the hot tub was fine but the pool was so green and as soon as you walked into the pool area all you can smell allergy so went to the front desk and the man told the pool was fine and that there was nothing wrong with it well the color of the water and the smell told us different. Hot tub was fine but pool not so much.
- Samantha (6/5): - Overall, just an average stay. Breakfast options are bare minimum. Parking lot went untouched during the snow storm. Staff overall was "fine" but tended to give the impression they were bothered by requests. I overheard the daytime front desk woman tell someone over the phone she was "slammed" with a busy lobby and couldn't help them, but the lobby was empty. Overall, it was fine for the price, but I wouldn't stay there again.
- Kelly (8/5): - Hotel is currently under a renovation (main lobby) however rooms were nice and clean. Completely breakfast was decent.
- Eugene (6/5): - Well the hotel had construction working so was not great to go relax
- Shannon (6/5): Could Use Some Attention to Details - The place was decent - however NO WHERE was it noted (on multiple search engines) that the pool and fitness center was out of order - it was 2 of the MAIN reasons we picked it! There was no compensation from hotel. The staff was nice - the front lobby is nice, but multiple areas were under construction with little signage.
Room was about the only thing that was worth being there - spacious. Heating system turned itself down after we left room BACK to 62* after I set it at 70* because it was 9* outside. Bathroom was set up more or less as a disabled/wheelchair accessible. Which was nice and roomy to shower, but floor got wet from the shower overspray. Room was missing an electrical socket cover
Place has potential - but I must've missed it! Only good thing - 1st hotel I've stayed at in about 2 years that DIDN'T SMELL OF WEED!
- Sherry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ghassan (2/5): Nightmare - It was a nightmare, just imagine it is February subzero temperature and there was no hot water for the two days we stayed there. and when we asked to talk to a manager there was no manger to talk too and the receptionist couldn't help in this matter. furthermore, the breakfast area the first day had no hot water for tea and there were no plates and the next day there was no coffee during our breakfast. Plus they didn't cline the room and when we asked why, there answer was that we have to call and ask for the service.
- Angela (5/5): Room was nice - Close to friends, and stores Wasn’t told it was under maintenance and upgrade . Halls and elevator dusty!
- Samantha (6/5): It was alright for first time being there - Location and pool Beds were uncomfortable
- David (8/5): - The breakfast could have been hotter.
- Janet (6/5): It was ok - Pool could be warmer The breakfast was horrible had to spend money to take them.to breakfast you advertised waffles didn't have any put Mt toast in machine ne er ce out couldn't find anyone e to help so left. NOT HAPPY
- Dawn (6/5): No go on the bed - The staff were great but the bed itself is so uncomfortable! Couldn’t wait to go home
- Jennifer (6/5): - There was a storm in Plattsburgh and the parking spots and walkway leading up to the hotel were not plowed or shoveled. Very unsafe and disappointing to unload and walk through a foot or more of snow to get inside. Once inside the hotel was very clean and check in was quick, smooth and staff was very courteous.
- Tim (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean, friendly staff, some ups and downs. - Hotel seems updated and was having reservations so the hot tub wasn't working and there was furniture in the lobby and construction materials. We arrived the day of the super bowl and the only channel that didn't work on our TV was FOX, so we couldn't watch the super bowl. They tried to restart our TV that didn't work. Our room keycard didnt work upon arrival. We were told the pool was 84 and it was cold. Breakfast was nice, staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful, generally updated and very clean feeling. I asked the desk if we could get Bonvoy points due to the issue with the TV and she told me to reach out to whoever I booked through or Marriott, kind of underwhelming.
- Jessica (8/5): Great to stay just don’t plan on eating. - The room was hot at first but then it settled in, clean and wonderful. Check in experience was weird and the breakfast was lack luster, the first day I felt like they were over ran and the second day they were cursing and talking loudly in the back, not caring about guests or that the food was cold. The rooms were great, but all aspects of food, coffee, were cold and the snacks, be careful were expired!
- Shameka (10/5): - Staff nice, clean and newly renovated rooms
- Kimberly (6/5): - Not having hot coffee or tea in the lobby at 1030am is a deal breaker for me.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not the quality i expected - Comfortable room and thats about it. Breakfast was nothing special at all. Been at many Marriott hotels over the years and the included breakfast does not seem to be the same quality as the past. No milk for coffee and no cups for drinks or coffee either. Seems there was only 1 staff member working at hotel to take care of everything. There was a room with its door open near the room we rented which was full of construction materials and paint buckets just exposed. Very noisy kids staying at the hotel making noise past 11pm making rest not enjoyable.
- nacholover2018 (2/5): Stay away No Hot Water, rude front desk - Traveled there for business. I always use Marriott hotels. Booked king room ahead of time. When I arrived at the hotel the woman at the front desk told me they could not get me a king room since they were so busy and they had to find me a room. I booked my room before the people I was traveling with, they all got King rooms. The woman was rude when I asked were they short on rooms due to the construction going on. She said no. The worst part of our stay and the reason why I am writing this review is, there was no hot water in the hotel. When you go on the Marriott site it looks like they have not had hot water for months based on the reviews. It also looks based on the reviews on the Marriott site that the rudeness at the front desk is frequent.
- Leandre (8/5): - Nice hotel. First and second floor were on renovation but did not affect our stay.
The heating systeme in our room was long get the temperature we set it up.
- Paul (6/5): - Breakfast was horrible
- Maureen (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (4/5): - I didnot have hot water for two days. I had to sign on to the internet every 24 hours instead of having an immediate connection. The staff did not wear uniforms of any kind. But, one satf member did keep his knit wool cap on.
- Matthew (4/5): VERY disappointed - Facilities were clean No hot water and I was told the wrong times for breakfast
- Jean-Philippe (6/5): - The beds are just ok. I will try something else next time
- Heidi (7/5): Good - Breakfast bar is average. attendant was not paying attention and taking care of refilling items at the busiest time of the morning. coffee and food items were empty while s/he sat on her phone. We chose to eat elsewhere the second day. Room was clean and comfortable and location was convenient. breakfast was average, coffee poor. In room, refrigerator not functioning properly, shower door difficult to open. Front desk attendant uninterested in hearing about these issues and stated "we don't have a maintenance person".
- Kole (6/5): - The hotel was nice but it states that the sheets are changed every time and there was definitely some living in the sheets we got and the male front attendant was the worst part of the trip he was rude and just made the stay a little off putting
- Carol (8/5): Very good -
- Ross (6/5): - Our first room didn’t have a working shower and then our second room the hot water took at least 15 mins to heat up.
The place is meant to be renovated not sure new carpet and dodgy workmanship passes for that and then we saw the workers cutting the new carpet out in the carpark where it has rained!
Breakfast was terrible, food like plastic wrapped in plastic! I overheard the breakfast attendant talking and she said nobody come down for breakfast, I wonder why.
We stayed for 4 nights and not once was our room serviced, we even left the hotel for over 24 hours to head over the border to Montreal thinking that when we returned our room would be serviced, nope. Not somewhere I would stay again.
- Benjamin (10/5): - It was a nice hotel. My wife and I will be staying there again in the future. Looking forward to seeing the finished renovations.
- LDecarie (4/5): Poor Experience - Room was very clean, hotel was clean, staff at front desk was not helpful and not very friendly. Breakfast was poor, not a lot of selection and while we were eating, some of the breakfast trays were empty while the food staff sat on a bench and was playing on her phone. Will never go back to this location.
- Laura (4/5): - We spent 2 nights at the Fairfield. They are doing renovations on the 3rd and 4th floors, but only posted they were working on the 4th floor (they changed that while we were there). There was something wrong with the hot water boiler, and the water for the shower was tepid at best. When we called about the water, the man at the front desk at night kept telling me that he didn't know what to do because there was smoke coming out of the chimney which means the boiler was on. When I inquired again upon check out, the woman told me there were having trouble with the boiler and it just needed to be reset. Both hairdryer and fridge were not working in our room the way they should. The yoguart I put in the fridge was not cold the next morning. We were on the 2nd floor, next to the elevator, which we did not hear, but did hear the hockey team having dinner in the lobby. I have stayed at this hotel for several years on the same weekend, but will not again.
- Andrew (7/5): Good - Great location, good breakfast, Reasonable price. Pool area needs serious cleanning, expecialy the bathrooms that were way below expectations . . .
- Cheney (7/5): It was a comfy bed in a good location. - Welcoming Our tub had some mild mold/mildew
- Lawerence (6/5): - Bathrooms need to be updated freezing cold floor. I understand that the weather is cold but why is it that the floors were like ice? The breakfasts are mediocre, for the money that I paid I don’t think I’ll be staying there again.
- Jerry (9/5): Good - Credit card was initially charged $210, days later charged correct amount.
